Description

In Spring 2015 the house of Boucheron in collaboration with Interparfums announces new fragrance Boucheron Quatre named after the famous jewelry collection of Quatre rings. “We want this new launch to become the first line for Boucheron and an iconic fragrance for the brand. We also hope the modern approach to this fragrance will attract a younger clientele,” as stated for BW Confidential by Pierre Desaulles, Interparfums marketing director.

Fragrance BOUCHERON QUATRE has been announced as floral with juicy fruity notes and sophisticated woody shades and its composition is signed by perfumers Nathalie Gracia-Cetto, Nadège Le Garlantezec and Antoine Maisondieu of Givaudan. The perfume will be packed in a cylindrical shape inspired by the Quatre ring. The upper part of the flacon is a replica of the ring design with parts alluding at yellow and white gold, while the on/off rotating closing system facilitates that the rings on top are never removed from the bottle. Boucheron Quatre can be expected in sales in May 2015. The new perfume will be accompanied by an advertising campaign which will include a TV ad and promo photos.

The uniqueness of the modern and prominent design of Quatre rings lies in their inspiration by Paris, since each part is inspired by this city: the double decorative gadroon on the rings celebrates Parisians bonded by love; “Clou de Paris” reinterprets the cobblestone lanes at Place Vendôme; the diamonds reflect the light of Paris while the ribbed details describe the movement and cheer in the city.

Quatre women’s edition is a floral – fruity fragrance with a woody background. It opens with accords of bitter orange, red currant, green tangerine, lemon and grapefruit. Sambac jasmine and rose form the heart, along with accords of wild strawberry, peach and apple. The base includes notes of golden woods, cedar, cashmere, musk, vanilla and caramel. It is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Boucheron Quatre was created by Nathalie Gracia-Cetto, Nadège Legarlantezec and Antoine Maisondieu.

A fruitier version of valentina. Nice enough, and the bottle is pretty. But the lasting power really sucks, unfortunately.

Nice bottle and cap bit juice is not for me
Fresh , soapy clean but with that typical cheaper perfume dry down..
    Good sillage and longevity

Gorgeous bottle. Simple, elegant, classy. On me Quatre is a clean citrus-flower scent. Starts with a strong opening of the top notes, except for the lemon. I clearly sense green apple, grapefruit, orange and tangerine (in this order). Strawberry? Only for a couple of minutes and its gone. About an hour after, I still sense orange and tangerine while cashmere and white musk start to develop too.
At the dry down cashmere and cedar notes will be intensive. Strangely, seems to turn more into a green scent. You can feel this to be a French perfume.
Though there is caramel and vanilla as base note, do not think about Quatre as a gourmand or sweet fragrance. It isn’t.
Powerful scent for the first 3 hrs (had 2 spritz), afterwards it fades pretty fast. Sillage is moderate. Office friendly. Quite mature fragrance.

It’s definitely a strong scent, but I had to wash it off. Synthetic overload. Apologies if you love this fragrance, but for me this is just incredibly generic and boring. With so many wonderful perfumes in the world, this is the last thing I would think of wearing.

First Boucheron perfume I ever had and it was a complete disappointment . Extremely weak , almost no scent at all .

AFTER using it more and more, I can touch some similarities with D&G light blue intense due to the apple note, quatre is definitely is more sweet whereas light blue/light blue intense are more citrusy, beautiful summer scent, funny thing about this scent “it gives me the feeling of being careless, don’t worry about anything, just take everything easy darling, feel fresh, live your life, and don’t worry about anything”; again a lovely cheerful scent ^_^

This perfume surprised me, it’s a very gentle fragrance which on my skin immediately smells light floral with just the right amount of citrus-fruity note. It’s very refreshening, elegant, and womanly, I totally fell in love with it! I think if I have to describe it in one word: it’s the typical “good girl”‘s perfume!

  8. :

It starts out with citrus–strong, clean and pleasant without sweetness. When it calmed down, it changed entirely. The citrus completely disappeared. Now it smells dry and yet like damp paper. Like a office from the 1960’s, complete with typewriters, modern for its time. There’s an undertone of white flowers, but nothing sweet. I get faint hints of stale, but not unpleasant, breath.
Quatre has a strong, nostalgic, mid-century office/typing pool vibe to it. It’s what the “manageress” of the department would wear. She’s mature, slim, kind, single and businesslike and if anyone in the office is murdered, she’ll talk to her friend Della about asking Perry Mason to investigate. Now I’m getting a pleasantly smoky scent among the white flowers and woven through everything is that mid-century feel and the paper/cardboard.

    Flora by Gucci!!
I feel both of these have the same twist! The shampoo, clean, fruity vibe!
I find this perfume super sweet for my taste, but mama really liked it, so I wanna get it for her!
I don’t mind to smell it around me, it has the power to cheer me up

Lovely scent, elegant and feminine. Good for every occasion, all year round. It was offered to me as a gift and it really is a the perfect gift for a lady. All the notes blend perfectly, nothing stands out, no rough edges. A crowd pleaser in the good sense. If you can only splurge on one bottle of perfume and you want to be chic, classy and on trend – this is the way to go. The quality jasmine and rose here give it the base of its understated elegance. The rest of the fruity and floral notes float around it in perfect harmony. It could have been a bland flowery-fruity syrup like so many others, but it’s not. It’s simply lovely.

Blind buy and must tell a love at first sniff! The description did not let me down! A blast of green apple, citrus and rose. After it settles down for 20-30 mins I can feel more of the Jasmine note- very delicate and soft. Citrusy, but sweet and floral at the same times. Too sweet or floral scents tend to be cloying and tad annoying to my nose but this one is beautiful. First spray on wrist was: Oh, what a HAPPY smell! (happiest smell to me is usually the Ma Damme by JP Gaultier) I think we will get along well (will update on longevity later),The bottle is very elegant and love the ring at the top that you twist to spray- very smart!

Gorgeous bottle! Unfortunately, like other Boucheron scents, a chemical mess on my skin. Too bad, for the notes I had high hopes.

Quatre is sweet, fresh and delicate fragrance in beautiful bottle with amazing ring. Perfect for daily wear. Great projection and longevity.

Fresh smelling, subtle yet classy, very feminine fragrance. Inoffensive and good as a daytime scent, can be worn anytime of the year. This can be a good everyday scent as it has good longevity and soft projection.
The twist mechanism on the bottle looks really beautiful too!

I am in love with this. A very clean, classy and expensive smelling fragrance. I love the soft citrusy opening. Tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, and orange. Not a blast in your face citrus either, considering that it does have a lot of citrus notes.
Then jasmine comes in and a whisper of apple and strawberry. After a while I get a dry down of a warm caramel, woodsy vanilla. Another successful blind buy! Thanks again everyone for you wonderful reviews on this fragrance.

This is extremely sharp on me and anything I spray it on. Also very very long lasting which is bad since it’s a scent that will easily induce migraines. Fortunately, I am not a sufferer of migraines but I wouldn’t wear this to the office. If I can smell it and find it too intense I am certain others can smell this meters away. As I said, it’s sharp, an intoxicating white floral. I don’t get any of the sweetness some mention or the softer fruity notes. All I get is sharp bitter orange, grapefruit and I guess Jasmine…probably some lime in there too.

I love this and glad to have it . Great for spring or anytime. Fresh and it gives me a similar vibe as my Elie SAAB edt….and a touch of slight miss dior cherie cause of the strawberry….and this is yummy. Def..a fruity version of elie saab..edt….if u like that , u will like this. The longevity is great and i like that it does not go flat …has a nice floral kick..a light spray is good.

This is a very unique floral fruity. It makes you feel sophisticated. Definitely my next buy. It is soft and subtle but with a lot of personality. I’m in love.

  19. :

    4 out of 5

Notes look very apetising. However on me it is very sour… must be the green apple… all i get is sour citrusy smell. No floral or strawberry. Pitty. As the bottle is lovely. I so wanted to love it, but just not my cup of tea….

  20. :

Very pretty! Starts off fresh and fruity – the star is ripe, sweet strawberry with a little tart citrus. The jasmine is soft and the rose is even more so. The caramel and vanilla are mild and just present enough to lend a sweet, creamy, and warm dry down but don’t really project on their own; just sweet enough to offset the tartness of the fruit. I first tried this during the cold season and it was disappointingly bland but the warmer weather has really helped this fragrance bloom and show off its pretty notes. Sillage is moderate and longevity is average, about 6 hours.

  21. :

The EdP is a blast of indolic jasmine and a ton of it. This is very much a floral with the occasional olfactory mercy provided by a short, whisper of citrus.
Whether Quartre works for you, really comes down to how much you like jasmine. Quatre has a well done, realistic jasmine with none of the hairspray smell that some synthetic jasmines can have. With two short sprays, the EdP is full one, unrelenting, INDOLIC jasmine for about 3 solid hours. Then it fades to a more soapy jasmine.

Ok, so I have found my new favorite perfume 🙂 Love at first sniff! This scent is everything beautiful..it smells like a dream..it’s so clean and soft, it’s not overpowering and the notes are so well balanced. Many perfumes give me a headache, so I always try to buy only scents that are soft and not too heavy, and this one is perfect for that 🙂 I think this is good for all year, and also day and night. If youre looking for a classic, clean and positive scent, this one is for you 🙂 On my skin it lasts about 8 hours.

I discovered this fragrance by chance in our local perfume store this weekend and tested it because fragrantica members mentioned a similarity to Karl Lagerfeld for women from 2014 which is one of my favorite springtime fragrances since then. Quatre has a slight similarity but is much more elegant to my nose. The strawberry note is dominant here, combined with floral notes of jasmin and sour grapefruit while the dry down is musky with cashmeran and cedar. A unique combination of notes and another refined fragrance from Boucheron!

  24. :

Fruity but not overpowering from the off. The sillage us good and the lsting power is all day on myself. I can smell this on scarves/seatbelt days later and even on clothes from the wash basket.
It is a good office perfume, very elegant suit most ages. Its one of my favourites at the moment.

  25. :

    4 out of 5

I would describe this as a crisp, fruity jasmine perfume. This is a perfume I would imagine a princess wearing. Quatre is bright, beautiful, and citrusy with great longetivity. I think it’s just a little too bright and amped up for me; it’s a bit too much.
I started to feel overpowered by the flowers, so for me, not a comfortable fit. I would love the sillage of this on another person.

  26. :

Very pleasant surprise is Quatre, excellent value for money. Good longevity, classy fragrance.

  27. :

    4 out of 5

First impression: very fresh-smelling but not in a cheap way.
On reflection (and repeated wearing): it starts with a strong blast of citruses. I get mostly orange and tangerine. Also red currant mentioned in the description. After about 15 minutes, bitterness goes away to reveal green apple accompanied by jasmine and hints of peach and rose. Even later, strong wild strawberry note appears. For some reason, I never got much of the cited base notes, only something sweet.
On me the sillage is moderate but I met a person whose skin projected it even better. It also lasts quite long.
I consider this a safe blind buy for someone who loves citruses, fruity florals and jasmine.

I was looking for a perfume to replace Jeu d’Amour (KENZO) for a very long time, as it doesn’t stay long on my skin at all and the sillage is really weak.
I like very fruity perfumes, when they are red fruits oriented but it is quite hard to find a smell which doesn’t remind me of very chemical smells or shampoo.
I just recently bought Quatre after having tested it for a few days and I am really happy I did.
To me it is very fruity and sweet and fresh, and as opposed to a lot of perfumes I have tested, this one stays this fresh for a very long time.
At the beginning (up to 1 hour), the fruits are very strong and the smell is even overwhelming to me, it even gives me headache. I definitely need to adapt my spraying method and get used to it…!!
But as hours go by, it stays very well on my skin and turns into something sweeter and more round.
I really love this smell which is, to me, a very ‘happy’ scent, fresh, pulpy, fruity, sweet, feminine but also really present!
Although to me this isn’t especially a perfume with a lot of citrus or apple…
On my skin, strawberry and musk is what show the most!
I just have a big problem with the bottle which I find really cheap and ‘too much’. The light pink liquid is quite nice but the reproduction of the rings is definitely too much to me who loves simplicity and minimalism (and not really into Boucheron’s jewels, so obviously…). But in all the cases, the white reproduction of one of the rings is made in a very cheap white plastic which is disappointing for such a chic brand!
A simpler bottle with more attention to the details and the materials would have been definitely more chic! Less is more! 🙂

I get a lot of tart orange in the opening, which dries down into a sweet, heady jasmine with green apple. It’s very straightforward. It’s one of the freshest scents I’ve smelled, and I could imagine it being very beautiful when it’s hot outside! It’s not a love, but a strong like. I could certainly wear it, but I don’t NEED it in my collection. If you like jasmine, definitely give it a try!

This is cream strawberries and flowers. On my skin the sweet strawberry note shows the most and it is quite delightful. Then I get a whiff of some white flowers followed by a hint of musk. Usually for me to enjoy a sweet perfume it needs to have that bitter or musky note at the end. This one does, but the strawberry sweetness takes over and dominates. The sweetness is very pleasant and doesn’t get sticky. The sillage is quite good too. Plus – it lasts longer than most fruit/flower perfumes I’ve tried.

i love this perfume. smells like strawberries and roses and peaches. elegant and feminine. dry down doesnt go soapy or sour and lasts wonderfully. just when ive found something i truly like… i cant afford to purchase. too many blind buy disasters in the past have taught me a valuable lesson.
update.. i now have a 100ml edp and am loving it to pieces.

After reading a thread on the boards last week saying this was a great fresh strawberry scent, I was intrigued and had to snag a bottle. I fell in love with this at first sniff and it is exactly what I hoped it would be. The rose, apple and strawberry are what show up on my skin. I don’t smell any caramel or vanilla and the scent is fairly linear from start to finish, but that’s OK! The longevity is amazing and after 12 hours I still get whiffs. Lovely! The bottle is really pretty too and looks expensive. So happy with one.

This guy is loaded with strawberries and crisp. The scent is very fruity and refreshing. Lasts all day. No big citrus on me.

  34. :

    5 out of 5

This one is an actual surprise for my expectations. When I read ‘citrus’ i automatically forget that a certain perfume even exists. But here those citruses aren’t that sharp, something softens them, might be the jasmine or the apple. It’s not that sweet, it’s more on the floral side, but like I said, everything is well combined. It lasts quite long.

  35. :

This is such a feminine beautiful smell if you are into fresh floral long lasting perfume this is the one.
It is such a strong beautiful long lasting sent, it makes you feel beautiful too
I give this a thumbs up (and a lovely bottle too)

To me, peach and jasmine dominated the opening. Overall, not an unpleasant scent, but a little too busy for my taste.

Love this perfume! Not at first sniff, but after few minutes and than for many hours, it is just great!

  38. :

    3 out of 5

I tested this on paper recently and initially it was just another nice fruity floral but nothing amazing. But the next day the perfume still smelt strong on the paper and I was intrigued. The dry down reminded me very much of Chanel Chance eau Tendre, probably the combination of jasmine/musk/grapefruit/and apple/strawberry, which shared some similarities with Chance eau Tendres jasmine/musk/grapefruit and quince. So I decided to order a bottle of Boucheron Quatre. The Boucheron initially smells slightly sharper but loses this sharpness in the dry down.
I would never repurchase Chanel because it doesn’t perform and costs too much. The Boucheron can be found for 50 euros for 100ml, performs much better and lasts longer especially when sprayed on clothes where it easily lasts up to 24 hours!

I just absolutely LOVE this fragrance and the funniest part of it is, had I read the notes I would have NEVER considered it at all.
Dear JeanneBird sent me a sample with a swap, I fell in love and subsequently bought a beautiful bottle.
It lasts and last (I sprayed some on before going to bed) and as I write this in my pj’s and sipping my morning coffee, it’s lingering.
More than anything, it’s a brilliant mix of soft and fresh fruit, dreamy florals and a bit of woodiness!
I am adding this lovely Boucheron to my forever fragrance cache.
    No mean feat!
PS A good lesson learned once again…notes can be deceiving!

    Love at first sniff
There is a problem with most of spring/summery floral fruity fragrances, most of them smell nice, but they are somehow shampooyee, cheap smelling like a body splash or are too much girly, pink sugar water and generic
But this one is a really high quality, expensive smelling, young but lady like floral fruity,it is also fresh, bright, cheerful, colorful;which are lovely features of a floral fruity
It opens really fresh with citrus notes, mostly grapefruit which is easily detectable but doesn’t make this bitter or too much citrusy.other fruity notes are well blended and to be honest I can’t detect much strawberry or apple as specific notes,I can just smell a crisp, cool fruity juice besides dominant soft jasmin and a touch of velvety musk, there is not even vanilla or caramel to my nose but the dry down is sweet, soft with a touch of warmth and depth and with more jasmine(but it’s not floral in a heavy or cloying way)very very balanced and well blended
Boucheron quatre is like drinking an icey cool mix fruit juice in a warm day in a garden full of sparkling jasmine and rose,it has also a nutty vibe, something like a green almond or pistachio which i die for, like the one in elie saab couture, very lovely
I find it very versatile, it’s office friendly but I also wear it for evening walks and dates.it’s youthful but also classy and smart. It’s one of the biggest complement magnets I have ever had
the bottle is a gem itself and I believe it can make a great gift for any age.a flanker of Dior jador and Antonio banderas her secret game have some similarities to boucheron quatre but I prefer quatre over them
Longevity and sillage are really good.I can smell it around me for hours and smelling it’s lively and cheerful fruity of it rush floral and it’s silky and feminine floral-musky drydown is a true pleasure
It feels like I’ve found my warm season’s signature perfume(it’s wearable year round but I prefer it for spring and summer and it’s intense version which is like it’s more sweet sister for fall)
    10/10

I fall in love with Boucheron! It reminds me Lanvin Marry Me a little, but Quatre is more elegant and sophisticated. On me dominate jasmine and citrus tones. Perfect for day and night.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

Extremely flat and uninteresting – this is just a fragrance like any other. The composition is not complex whatsoever, it’s mainly citrus notes with a very intensive hint of grapefruit layered with jasmine. Nothing less, nothing more. The bottle is gorgeous though, and the sillage is quite decent!

  43. :

    5 out of 5

Very – very sharp flower in your face. Too much. Overpowering floral overdose.
Good one, it is just not my cup of tea.

  44. :

    5 out of 5

Cold jasmine & apple & citrus fragrance, ladylike, elegant like Boucheron jewel. Strawberry makes it also light and alluring. Surely it has charmed me at once!
Musky base is quite delicate. I think it’s rather the scent for spring and early fall.
Update: In summer heat, it is sweeter than in spring. I can smell more caramel, vanilla and cashmere.

  45. :

    4 out of 5

On me this perfume opens with a strong (almost disturbing), sharp blast of citrus notes, then I get a big bouquet of roses (creamy white or slightly rosy, certainly not red or deep red) and jasmine. The citrus notes are staying, just getting a bit weaker, creating a fresh and a bit sour feeling (makes my mouth water) and making the perfume transparent, crisp, “young”. Later I get a light green apple scent, and then a shy, delicate strawberry aroma gives me a hug. And on my skin I get a note I can’t really understand. It’s something a bit nutty and lightly spicy (maybe it’s the musk?) , which makes “Quatre” interesting for me, because there are already many floral-fruity, fresh perfumes out there. I rather don’t like the opening of this perfume, but I appreciate what comes after that. I guess it will be nice for the spring. A linear, classy, high quality (no doubt about that!) perfume for a modern, dynamic lady. Not an instant love for me, but maybe one day… just maybe.

  46. :

    5 out of 5

Absolutely love Quatre!! When smelled it for the first time it seemed to resemble Elie Saab L’Eau Couture, but this one is more sweet and gentle, must be due to the strawberries which are listed and I can detect. An elegant and ritzy fragrance yet not overwhelming like many perfumes with these traits might be. On the contrary – it’s still fresh, floral and attractive. With excellent longevity on my skin and no offensive yet detectable sillage. (I got compliments when wearing it from 3 persons at one day :)) This is my first perfume by Boucheron but I’m so glad I came across it and decided to check the fragrance even though I don’t wear this brand normally. I do recommend to try it on skin, as you might be positively surprised by its quality and absolutely rare combination of modern style and classic beauty. Last but not least – a bottle – a true gem! All in all – must have purchase! 🙂

This fragrance has no lasting power. Very poor quality from Boucheron, nothing like their first ones they created.

  48. :

One of the best strawberry fragrances out there! Fresh, flirty and sparkling, so nice for hot weather. And the strawberry is not sour, but sweet and juicy…just like it’s supposed to be.

Love, love love, strangely Iam not keen on jasmin nor soapy perfumes, but this one is somehow magicly done and beautifuly mixed with fruity undertone, but unfortunatly, I cnanot smell any strawberries here. xxx

  50. :

    5 out of 5

This is a huge jasmine perfume!
Starts with bitter citrus of grapefruit and orange peel that you can still get even in the drydown. Then the jasmine emerges and steals the spotlight. A very beautiful jasmine note indeed. Turns a bit soapy on the drydown. But it remains smooth. Not that harsh soapy perfumes that makes your nose bleed! This one remains soft and classy all the way. It lasts a good amount of time with a moderate to heavy projection.
Unfortunately I don’t detect the other notes at all. Like the peaches, vanilla, caramel and the other gourmandish notes. On a second thought maybe this is a good thing!
All in all… A great floral fragrance and a very classy scent. 7/10!

  51. :

I am not a floral girl, but if I was i would wear this. It is a stunning floral – strawberry concoction.
Very calming for day time and quite fresh – soapy in a slightly sweet way.
This is a fume to wear for afternoon tea or an elegant wedding.
The bottle is stunning in real life, looks opulent and expensive.
Definitely test if you’re into florals.

Beautiful and very femine spring/summer fragrance. I feel mostly orange blossom and jasmin. It reminds me very much of Elie Saab Le perfume EDT. Very classy and extremely long lasting.

This is another great perfume by Boucheron. At first the scent wasn’t strong. After few hours it had developed nicely into sweet, but classy fruity floral. Mostly I sense jasmine, so it’s quite white floral. There’s also some really nice strawberry note and fresh apple note. I like how strawberry is not chemical and apple is not sharp in this one.
Elegant, feminine and warm scent, suitable for every season.

I just received my sample from France, and at first spray it is very floral, Jasmine and Rose mixed together, it smells classy, it is in the drydown quite soft,, and I don’t get any other notes unfortunately, the Jasmine predominates and becomes a bit soapy in the drydown..
I was hoping the vanilla and musk would smooth the scent, but no,.
It is fairly linear, makes me think of Place Vendome a bit, I wanted to buy it, but I dont think I will now!
