Not bad at all for $15. Does not smell like a $15 fragrance. It does smell a bit simple and “old manish”, but I like that have no problem. A nice cheap unique option for the winter.

A barbershop style scent. Tonka, lavender, oakmoss and some wood; maybe some patchouli in the mix. There’s an artificial cherry tobacco vibe as well. Everything in BPH smells pretty synthetic. The artificial cherry was revolting at the opening; very similiar to a public bathroom cleaner smell. It smooths and settles during the drydown. Late dry down is actually kind of pleasant. I do get some similarities to Thierry Mugler’s Pure Malt.
Bogart Pour Homme is an old fashioned, masculine, mature scent for cooler weather. Your coworkers might not like it and it’s too synthetic smelling to be sexy. Performed well on my skin. Lasted seven hours before becoming soft. This isn’t a bad note composition but it smells cheap and it is cheap. I was considering a blind buy as you can’t smell it anywhere. Very happy that I opted for a sample instead. The bottle looks nice; headache inducing.

A reluctant lukewarm review. Though I tend to agree with the excellent Mr Smelly on most fragrances, I couldn’t get along with the synthetic notes in this one. Just something a bit sickly-sweet about the tonka which never gave way to any depth on my skin. Feel I’m missing out, because I love the idea of a more unique Le Male, which I can tell this very much is, but I can’t help but feel this one is wearing me rather than me wearing it! A strong one for sure — will give it another spray in the cold where it’s more at home and hope I come around.

Not bad at all! This must be sold with a cigarre in the package- best solution for smokers and the residual smell. Mann feels some tonka, some cimannon, pepper on the top.

I’ve made several attempts of finding out how to like this. It was a blind buy based on reading and seeing a lot of glowing reviews. But I really don’t get it. The first few seconds I can find fresh and interesting. But from then it is a 1960s old man’s barber shop thing, mixed with stale smoke and sweat from yesterday.
Since I’m still puzzled and intrigued by the experience others are having, I might try again to understand it another time. But, for now, no way.

This basically smells like Cherry Coke (the soft drink) to my nose, but the actual notes are predominantly tonka beans and lavender apparently. The scent is wonderful. And this is a BEAST, projecting heavily and lasting over 12 hours on my skin. And all for less than $20. It smells sophisticated and is a night-out or winter fragrance in my opinion, and leans masculine. I can’t believe how much of a beast this is in terms of performance at such an inexpensive price and being an eau de toilette rather than an eau de parfum. I overlooked this in the past; it has gotten me curious about other Bogart fragrances now.

i traded my Delcaration for this and i love it. It is strong and sure, it’s synthetic but after it dries out after an hour of spraying, that’s where the magic begins.
Grape soda/cherry tobacco vibe with monstrous projection!

very strong, very coarse. Smells like a bag of tobacco you can buy at the smoke shop. Very linear to me. Makes my throat sore when I wear it. Gets high praise but I personally don’t care for it and I like tobacco stuff. Bad blind buy on my part unfortunately no way to test this one that I’ve seen.

This is the second Bogart I own after Bogart OMS Gold Edition. I received it yesterday early morning and I made my first impression about it. It has a strong opening, where I found ressemblance with Joop! Homme. Both share at beginning a cherry-tonka smoky-like dominant (sour cherries for Bogart, sweet ones for Joop). I also detect a sort of minty-balsamic note when i smell closely my skin. No tobacco at all for me in the beginning. Then follows the next phase: the smokiness diminishes and a lot of patchoulli appears. But the late drydown is different: the sour cherry-tobacco accord do appears in the drydown and it’s there until the dissappearing of the perfume, which is very late. Awesome smell! So, I don’t agree the so-called linearity of the perfume, as some people say. They may be misled by the omnipresence of the sour cherries note. It has at least two phases, at least for me.
Performances are remarcable: very good longevity (at least 10 hours on the skin), very strong projection in the first 2 hours, then slowly and progressively it diminished. Can be smelled on the skin after 10 hours without problem.
After Bogart OMS Gold Edition and Wajid Farah Enigma, it’s the third strongest perfume I own. And the smell is awesome. Bravo, Bogart!
    Smell 9/10
    Longevity 9/10
    Projection 8/10
    Overall 9/10
    Highly recommended!

Well! Acquired this little cheapie for the sake of it being cheap and ofcourse this community’s numerous advocates voting for the same. Some members also drew comparison to Pure Havane and Reyane Insurrection Wild.
There is no actual tobacco note in the perfume but the tonka bean, patchouli, cedar wood, oakmoss and musk combine to present a “synthetic” sort of tobacco vibe. The perfume is linear out in out in structure, after the first spray the dry down settles in quickly within half hour to give off the sweet sour cigar sort of tangible whiff.
Longevity is impressive, easily clocking in at 8 hours, however projection for me at least wasn’t that prominent. Settles down to arm’s length within 2 hours or so.
My only complaint with the frag is that it is linear in scent throughout. The sprayer is incredible unlike Bvlgari Man and gives off a full blast. The comparison to Pure Havane and Insurrection are a bit wishful i think, but for a price of max USD 20 who can complain? 2014 batch for me

Thanks to everyone who gave the ringing endorsements – I also bought a bottle just because it was so incredibly affordable I figured it was worth the minor risk, and even with some pretty high expectations I was STILL floored by how fantastic this one is.
This is an amazing blend of the component notes – like some of my other favorites I doubt I could tell you without having read them what the primary notes are. Based on the smell I’d have guessed resins, amber and a touch of incense but I’d have been so wrong. I try not to let price point skew my impression of a scent, and that’s why I feel no shame in saying this is a masterpiece and definitely in my Top 10 cool weather scents.
As noted below, there is some sweetness but I’d leave it out of the gourmand category. For me, this sits in the woodier side of the fougere group, it delivers that sweet-sour balancing act that I love in so many of my favorites (though in this one the sweets have a finger on the scale) and is “always own the next bottle” good.

Very surprised for the performance of this fragance. Long lasting and good projection. If you are looking for a beast mode cheap scent, I willrecomend this one.
JB smells completely different for the current most known eau de toilettes. I smeel tobacco and rose, but siencerely I am not an expert. Very powerful from th first spray, be careful to do not oversparay.
In my opinion is more sutiable foran above 50. It is not fresh, it is warm, round scent, maybe a little bit synthetic. Tobacco is the main note, floral. Classic scent, more near to 80s.
Good smell but unfortunately not to become signature frganace for me. Good but not compliments and old fashioned.
I recommed to test it as it is very cheap. It could be a good frag for work/office or if you like it when you wear suit. Formal occasions.
    Scent (40%) = 6.0
    Performance (30%) = 8.0
    Compliments (20%) = 4.0
    Cost/Quality (10%) = 8.0
    Mark = 6.4

Bogart Pour Homme from the house of Jacques Bogart is a fragrance that sounds profoundly unpromising. Until discovering this excellent scent I had never heard of the company. As far as I can tell they primarily produce fragrances and have swallowed up a few other companies such as Ted Lapidus over the years. Whilst Jacques Bogart sounds like the less successful brother of Humphrey this fragrance is a resounding success.
The nose behind this powerhouse beauty is Maurice Roucel who was responsible for one of the most significant gourmand scents for men , Rochas Man (1999) and also the highly regarded Musc Ravageur (2000) from Frederic Malle.
Bogart Pour Homme can be bought for under £20 online (100ml) and is one of the best performing and must distinctive “cheapie” scents any man could add to his olfactory arsenal.
    These are the notes:
    Top: Lavender, Bergamot
Mid: Orange Blossom, Lily of the Valley, Rose
Base: Tonka Bean, Patchouli, Musk, Oakmoss, Cedar
The fragrance mixes the musky sweet gourmand meets barbershop theme of JPG Le Male (1995) with the sweet cherry tobacco theme of Mugler’s Amen Pure Havane (2011).
The opening blast announces the arrival of this room filling loud mouth of a perfume with a lavender and tonka explosion tempered with supporting players rose, lily of the valley and orange blossom.
The patchouli and musk in the keep this masculine and steer us away from the bubblegum world of so many 21st Century masculine scents.
The beauty of this Eau de Toilette is the balance between sweetness and masculinity which so few designer fragrances mangage with such perfect equilibrium. A sweet cherry tobacco pipe puffing away over a manly patchouli, tonka and cedar wood base. Not exactly modern smelling but by no means an 70s or 80s style scent. This one would perhaps sit most comfortably alongside 90s releases such Versace’s The Dreamer (1996), Dolce and Gabbana Pour Homme (1994) and the above mentioned Le Male.
It doesn’t change much as you wear it. What you spray is what you get several (in fact many many) hours later.
Bogart’s beast could smell ever so slightly dated to some and if we are being picky it does seem rather synthetic. But it is a heavenly sweet masculine intoxicating type of synthetic and the perfomance is BEAST MODE. Any jacket contaminated with this juice will be a Bogart Pour Homme diffusion device for a couple of months or until it is dry cleaned.
If you’re looking for a powerful sweet yet masculine scent with a Le Male on steroids personality disorder then look no further than Bogart Pour Homme. Suitable for colder weather and nights out and probably not for work. This is a really enjoyable fragrance that I can highly recommend.

Smells too old man I’m smoking a pipeish for me but I like it though just don’t wanna wear it. Is it strong? Yes it is strong and some might really really love it, for the price I give it a solid BOOM! Smells like cherry pipe tobacco. You don’t need a man bun to wear this one, this is a non man bun scent. Not for highschoolers, the young chicks won’t like it but better to smell like this then b.o and doritos though.

I don’t know how they did it. This stuff smells like the 80’s. If the show Stranger Things had a smell- this is it! Combination of DoubleMint, Bubbalicious, cigarettes, hair spray, and lip gloss dressed in a jean jacket with the collar popped. Bogart? Non-bogus, dude!! Totally Rad cologne!

It seems that lots of people like sweet fragrances. I did not know what to expect from this one, but for me it is just too sweet. I put it into the same box with JPG’s Le Male, Joop Homme, One Million and other sweetish chewing gum fragrances. Once there is one of the keywords such as Rose, Sweet or Tonka in the fragrance description, it is an immediate Kryptonite for me.
I do not say that it smell terrible, but if my wife says she would wear it too, it’s a definite no go for me.

  22. :

    4 out of 5

    Wow!!
Very impressive. I’m befuddled on how a frag that costs a mere $20 for 100ml smells this good, and has the longevity and sillage to beat the majority of niche players who sell for (at least) 10x as much.
This isn’t right, and the big players should buy out JB just so they can take Pour Homme off the market.
    A must buy.

The weather is finally cold enough for me to wear this. I’ll be honest, the opening is harsh and really synthetic. To me, this is the worst part of the fragrance. But if you can hang in there, you’ll be treated with a semi-sweet/cherry-tobacco type of drydown that lasts for ages. In terms of longevity, it’s probably the longest I’ve ever experienced. It’s a playful scent in the same vain as Le Male. Not much as far as versatility here; not for the office, more for after work happy hour or clubbing. Yes, It’s absolutely synthetic, as are 95% of fragrances out there.

I paid attention to this fragrance after watching Lex – Fragrances with Lex – featuring one video with “Fragrances for Machos” or “Fragrances for Gangsters” or something similar.
I finally bought it last week after having already in my closet another Bogart cologne – Silver Scent Intense (which I highly praise).
Now Bogart for Homme…. What an amazing fragrance. It is really an hidden gem! From the first spray you know you are scenting something very special. Vibes of respectful powerhouses arise: Givenchy’s Gentleman intense, TM Pure Havanne, Lapidus for man, Lomani’s Virtual…
None of those are very similar to BPH, but they make you feel the same sensations. It’s an association you make with bold, manly fragrances for men.
BPH t’s an almost linear fragrance with a fresh opening of citrus and lavender, that dilutes itself in a strong cherry tobacco vibe, and dries down with very pleasant notes of tonka and patchouli.
Yes it is a bit synthetic… great! That’s why you get such sharp scents and huge beastly longevity.
Use it everywhere but never with warm weather. This is a frag for the cold.
Well above average longevity (14+ hours) and projection (4+ hours).

How much you like this scent strongly depends on how comfortable you are with a lot of synthetic smelling notes. It’s huge, long sillage. Winter only.
For a cheap scent (less than $25 in the US) it is decent, again assuming you can handle the chemical-ness of it.
A lot of people compare it to TM Pure Malt and I sort of see some similarity but Pure Malt is a far better constructed scent. I’d rather save an extra $20 and buy Pure Malt 100% of the time.
I blind bought this and don’t use it. It’s like a 5/10 for me.

Bogart pour homme has very strong cherry or orange note in first hour. Then it turns to tonka lavender in the rest of time.
Longevity: 5-6 hours on my skin
Sillage: fill the room in first hour and then go down slightly become skin scent
The longevity and sillage is not beast as i expected. Maybe it changed formulation

Only smelled like cherry until some air got in the bottle and then it opened up.
Notes here on Fragrantica are pretty accurate, coumarin (tonka) supported by a classic manly cologne base, with some urinous synthetic sandalwood.

  30. :

    5 out of 5

Recently re-tried it after almost two years and I can say I’ve changed my mind (a little bit).
It’s synthetic, yes, but in a quite pleasant and smooth way. I mostly get the cherry (guess it’s the combination of tonka and rose) and tobacco note everybody mention plus lavender mixed with some undistinguable florals, which give a ‘clean’ edge to the scent.
It can surely be overpowerly and cloying so be very careful with spraying… that said, the Beast label it’s entirely accurate.
Although price is really tempting I personally don’t see myself purchasing a bottle, just beacuse the smell isn’t right up my alley (too sweet and a bit uninspiring), but I don’t mean the quality of the fragrance is subpar at any level.

    A masterpiece! superb quality!
    no cherry!
tonka rose and orange blosom that mixed together
in a butifull skillfull way that can remind of cherry.
with a strong beerch like backround that gives the feeling of tobacco and leather in the air.
very strong at first 3 hours.
    for any season.
right now i got 2 sprays one on each hand 34 degrees out side
this is fresh very fresh scent juicy but a little bit powdery also.
it fills the room at the first 1 and half hours but im sitting under the air conditioner.
age 20 and above im 37.
as a pipe smoker its not a cherry tobacco i just dont get it.
i get a lethery tobacco tonca rose and i get the orange blosom.
    this is a gem a true gem…enjoy.

    I love this monster.
When I apply it,it burns my skin and my eyes, which is uncomfortable for 2 or 3 minutes and then a fantastic ride for the rest of the day.
A monster among monsters,it lasts and lasts like most Bogart fragrance except for One Man Show, which performs a disappearing act on my skin.

To me this is a Cherry Bakewell tart in perfume form!!
I get a huge blast of marzipan/almond sweetness wrapped in a vanilla pastry base, weird I know….but that’s it….nothing else at all, totally linear..
I get none of the tobacco vibe at all, and as for projection, on my skin this is almost non existent.
Last night I did 3 full sprays, Chest and both forearms, and the people in my car couldn’t smell it 10 mins after applying.
Longevity is great though and I get 12 hours+ but as a skin scent.
I really don’t get this whole ‘Beast Mode’ thing. On me BPH is as gentle and inviting as any frag I own and may even be the least ‘Beast Like’ of any of them.
    EDIT:
The frag has developed over the last couple of weeks, which I think seems universal with frags. Maybe its the sprayer/nozzle settling down or aerating after being packaged or something, I’m not sure why, but ALL my frags smell better after a few initial sprays and for being left with the caps off for a day or two to air out.
Anyway, this is a delicious concoction projection is decent, not room filling like some report, but i’d say about3-4 feet for sure, i now notice more Bergamot throughout and more depth that didn’t seem to be there initially.
Still lots of Cherry Bakewell sweetness but not in a sickly way.
I’d recommend this to anyone, whether a collector or not, and give it a huge thumbs up!!

Too sweet for me. Blind bought it but not satisfied as it is feminine sweet. This might be a favorite for some as it doesn’t smell bad or like this but not for me. Cherry tobacco and tonka is all it is. One last thing is that hold your nose when you spray this and hold your breath and go outside and breath then you might like it.
    Edit:
Today I can’t believe how did i dislike it yesterday. I sprayed on my shoulders and arms and held my breath as I do not liked the opening. After an hour, it became a masterpiece. Two colleagues and a student expressed their liking for the for this gem. Before that it impressed me too as it became very deliciously sweet and perfectly deeper. Very good silage plus longevity. A great perfume for its price. Go and get it. Someday or any moment you will gonna love it. Thumbs up for the juice.

What a lovely surprise! Bogart Pour Homme is very worthy of all of the praise it receives. This scent opens up very strong and sweet, almost earthily sweet with; lavender, tonka, bergamot and a good dose of patchouli (and a clear presence of cherry tobacco?). Then as this scent hits its’ mid notes we get some lovely orange blossom, lilly and rose. This floral mix comes off a bit intense at first, almost a bit cloying (synthetic), then it levels out, with the oak moss, cedar and musk. It is the oak moss and musk that give this scent its’ character and dare I say salvage it. This scent in its’ opening screams tonka, rose, cherry bomb! But as BPH dries down we are treated to the relief of some airy earthiness (cedar/oak moss), and this scent comes off like a fougere and very barbershop. BPH isn’t like Armani Code for one reason… no leather! The omission of any type of leather accord takes the sweetness down and makes it wearable for an older crowd (I am not a bitter old man. I swear!) and takes BPH away from being a work or office fragrance. Now, yeah as for coming off synthetic? Yes it does, but for 18 Euros it is a bargain, and very wearable from Fall to early Spring. This scent is perfect under a light scarf, when your off to see some folks on a brisk walk through town.

  44. :

    4 out of 5

This is pretty good but a bit synthetic for my taste. Classic fougere opening of lavender and bergamot, dries down to a good late-stage-Angel patchouli with faint balsamic notes. VERY long-lasting – I applied it on going to bed and it’s still here, nine hours later. A bit unsubtle, but for 15 euros, what’s not to like? I’m female, btw and I would definitely wear this.

One of the most solid if not the most, Bogart fragrances for Men. Masculine in it’s profile, something i can remember i smelled after my late father used to smoke his Cherry Tobacco filled pipe 35 years ago. Filing the room with it’s dignified and Potent Sillage. and most importantly doesn’t fade or change into Cacophony of strong animalic scents as One Man Show does. even though they share the same bottle shape with OMS and Silver Scent. it’s DNA is totally different, the Bergamot and Lavender blend so nicely and dominate the skin during the middle stage where that incense cherry tobacco ghost adds it’s magic, though there are neither cherries nor tobacco in the mixture. this is really a piece of magic, a gem of ellegance for it’s very reasonable price (i don’t want to use the word low or cheap in this context since it is far from feeling, smelling and making the impression of either of these definitions). i have also to admit that i had not smelled similar fragrance to BPH so far, so despite it’s good quality, impressive sillage and uber longevity it seems to be under the radar by the competition. something which also make it unique in my eyes. it smells like a century old classic but was only introduced in 2004. sadly i don’t see it widely available in the market in my country compared to the other more well known Bogart fragrances. which makes me worry a bit that it won’t get discontinued. i recommend every man who respects his masculinity to show a bit love to this gem and purchase one.

This is a Gem in 17$. Its Very subtle and luxurious fragrance which starts with Lavender and Patchouli and settles down with Cedar, Lavender and Lilly of the Valley with a hind of Musk notes. Very Sweet very masculine and fragrance worth every penny.
Silage and Project is very long lasting. Since the fragrance is very strong you should not spray more then three times. Its a Winter wear
7.5 out of 10 for me.

I just received this one and sprayed once on my neck. It is very strong! However I find similarities in the opening which are close to those of Versace the Dreamer. I blind bought this and I am very happy with it.

If only I could remove the floral notes.
    Then this would be perfect.
But with it, it ruins everything.
This is going to sit on my shelf and collect dust for a while.
This scent is really meant for a woman.
I’ll give it to my friend.
UPDATE: The rose scent does go away in the dry down.
And the whole fragrance smells wonderful.
    Will buy again.

De momento, la prueba en papel me ha gustado mucho. Huele a lavanda limpia, no es especialmente original ni he testado el desarrollo. Gran fijación y dulce al final. Por el precio la compraré seguro.

I can say that who love to sillage and longevity must have this one. It can win any fight against too many edp…The only disadvantage is after some time it smells same and same and same….you smell too long time same notes. Can be a casual winter fragrance. Bitter tonka and patchouli is main notes

To me this does not smell anything like Armani. There might be some resemblance to it in the sense this is not an aquatic or citrusy type but instead a night time aromatic scent. But that’s about it.

Not a silage monster like it used to be BUT still worth to buy , I sprayed 6 times in the morning . In 1-4 hours my friend can smell within arm lengths and in 4-8 hours it becomes closer to skin and it lasts for 15 hours on my skin.
    scent 10/10
    silage 8/10
    longevity 10/10

Kind of disappointment with this. It smells, good, very similar to Armani Code P, but a little less bold. The part I’m dissaopinted in is it’s not nearly as strong as I was hoping. I got a tester from Fragrancex, it’s a 2014 batch, so it’s likely been reformulated. It’s a shame, I only paid $13 for a 3.4 so no major complaints, but I wish it lasted longer, and really doesn’t have any “cherry” in it like people had mentioned previously.

I’ve just bought it because I’ve read many good reviews about this fragrance. And especially because some people say that it’s similar to Armani Code. I tried it but it doesn’t last on my skin more than one hour. And I sprayed a lot, I wasn’t gentle with the trigger. Where’s the problem. It smells nice but it doesn’t last for a long time. Not on my skin. I’ve sprayed on a piece of paper 2 hours ago and I can still smell it but the scent is very weak.

Go easy on this juice, it gets into your throat pretty quick. The smell is great, and for the price, why not have this in your collection…

i’m a bit confused here – some say it’s fahrenheit some say it’s armani code – both are quite different scents to me so guys what is it ? Confusing comments imo…

great fragrance, atomic performance, just make sure you wear it in cold weather or it will make you repent of your sins.

Tried this again and I can say with confidence that this is very much like Armani code profumo. This opens up with a very strong “cherry tobacco” that note is actually from the nutty and strong tonka bean and the r
