It starts promisingly, with a dark and sombre Iris note softened by Peony. It’s pretty enough as a floral, but within an hour it had died down to a very powdery and sweet vanilla. I’m veering away from sweet scents so this is not one for me I’m afraid.
In fact, when it settles, it smells a bit like Coty’s L’Aimant, so if you like that you might like this. It’s like l’Aimant but a touch more floral.

The Sanctuary’s Black Iris & Peony is a super-feminine, very floral, modern classic fragrance.
I can smell mainly peony, freshened up by the bergamot in the top and perfectly mixed with rich jasmine and iris.
I do not detect any vanilla directly but the vetiver note becomes present on my skin after a couple of hours.
This perfume costs so little money but smells like a very expensive one.
Try it whe next time you visit Boots. 🙂
