Description

BCBG Max Azria Group launches a new fragrance in August 2011. The fragrance BCBG Max Azria is delivered in a wonderful pink bottle with a stopper stylized as flower petals. “It is our first perfume for the BCBG Max Azria, so we are very, very excited,” said Lubov Azria, chief creative officer of the BCBG Max Azria Group and spouse of Max Azria. The first fragrance is created in collaboration with the New Wave.

The very design of the bottle is tightly connected with the design of the brand’s logo. Butterflies on the logo have turned into romantic deep-pink petals that leisurely blossom on the stopper. The fragrance is created by Givaudan perfumer Stephen Nilsen, and it stands out distinctly as it offers flowery-fruity notes softened by a cream powdery veil.

Pleasant surprise waits in the top notes: the chords of wild strawberry, black cherry and French Kir Royal cocktail (a cocktail of black currant liqueur and white wine). The heart reveals jasmine, lily of the valley, rose and violet, while the base notes introduce powdery nuances of iris root, creamy cadence of sandalwood and sensual musky veil.

The fragrance launches August 1, and it will be available in bottles of 50 and 100ml EDT. Along with the fragrance, the collection will also offer 200ml shimmering body lotion and 150ml perfumed body cream.

I do not care what age this perfume is supposedly good for. I am an older woman who is playful at heart and I LOVE this perfume. It will always be in my top 10 favorites of all time. I like sweet, fruity scents. This one actually lasts awhile on me (most perfumes do not; I blame my weird skin chemistry or something, not the perfume). I have bought several bottles over the years. I bought it the first time to take on a trip to Europe, ended up meeting my future husband there, and now I will always associate this with him and that journey. (I hope he does too.) I gave a bottle to my 78 year-old mother-in-law and it is now her favorite perfume (I am her supplier.
Ha. I have brought her 3 bottles so far.). It is not available in Norway, so I get it every year when I go back to the States. I hoarde it. LOVE ALWAYS. And the bottle is gorgeous (though top heavy).

Summery light, short longevity, cute bottle. This one is for a younger lady, I’ m too old for it.
I have a bottle, send me a msg if you want trade …

Here comes an other sweet in your face berry floral. Not my cup of tea.

This was a blind buy based on the notes, and a very nice one.
Honestly, I reach for it a lot during the summer when I want a perfume that is light but not a summer/citrus scent. It’s light, and doesn’t last that long, but that’s fine for summer. It’s a very light cherry/floral to me, that you can spray with abandon, almost like a body mist, and it won’t offend anyone. Perfect for warm weather, I don’t know if I’d wear it much in winter though.

This one was fun! Normally I’m not a big fan of fruity scents or gourmand type, but whenever I find a nice one I think “Gee, I really need more fun fruitys in my wardrobe!” and then I use up the whole bottle and go back to vintage oakmoss things as if my dalliance with the Big Sweets never happened.
BCBG Max Azria is a very playful strawberry and cherry syrup, like grenadine in perfume form. The drydown is light powdery florals and woods, which keeps the whole composition just on this side of mature. It’s still young at heart, but you won’t smell like you just walked out of grade school. This makes me think of strawberry Starburst candies or maybe a fizzy cherry soda.
I used up an entire bottle rather quickly. It was inexpensive enough that I didn’t mind wearing it just lounging around the house or running errands. It makes me feel young and happy. I really do need to get more fruity-florals into my wardrobe for variety.

I’m not a fan of the bottle but the juice inside… well, that’s a different story. Having bought it blindly (ridiculously cheap too) I didn’t have high hopes. However, I was also craving something Escada-esque and the strawberry note has been my guilty pleasure for as long I can remember. Lucky me, I’ve got it all in this little tacky gem 😉 Strawberry and cherry served as a frozen sorbet rather than sickly sweet hard boiled sweets. Scent is juicy and youthful, and what’s more important… no patchouli!

This fragrance is very sweet along the lines of Yves Saint Laurent’s “Mon Paris” but softer (minus the spicy note in it.)

Smells like those very fruity and sweet lipglosses from the 80’s. The ones that literally smelled edible. Does smell a little plastic. Generally I think this is great for a young girl, but as a 47 year old woman, not really my thing. Lasting power is decent and really does not change at all during the day, so the dry down is pretty much the same as first spritz.

  9. :

Very tangy strawberry / cherry. A bit plastic smelling, I would say it’s very similar to most Escadas. A young girly summery scent. Not particularly sophisticated or unique though…

10/10 for the bottle! The juice is lovely and pleasant. I love the strawberries and cherries. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last long. But at $20/100ml you can use it like a body spray. The opening gives a strong alcohol blast at the beginning, but once that burns off it is a nice sweet smelling scent that shines in summer weather. Decent and good for when you need something simple and uncomplicated.

I love love this perfume it smells so good! However, I will not repurchase it again because the staying power is about 0. After 1 hour you can’t even smell it, you have to constantly be spraying yourself every 90 minutes. I give it a 10 for the beautiful scent but as zero for it’s longevity. I so wish it lasted longer.

This is such a fun fruity floral dessert of a perfume! Sweet, but not syrupy or cloying. I wear it when I want to effortlessly smell nice–there is nothing pretentious or challenging about this one. And the bottle is adorable, but then again I’m partial to anything pink.

I have been wanting to get his for a while, based on reviews I had read here from time to time. I knew I would probably enjoy BCBG, and having finally gotten around to getting a bottle, finding one at T.J. Maxx, wearing it a few times now, it’s confirmed, I LOVE it! Right now I have a TON of new perfume samples, and a few new perfumes I just bought, along with some oils, and I just keep going back to this addictive creature so much!
The thing about BCBG that makes it SO enjoyable and so frustrating is that it is soft. I think this is sexy as hell and just delicious… There is an airy, sheer-powdery, delicate, translucent sweet quality to this perfume that is simply gorgeous! The trouble is that it is a fleeting experience and unfortunately needs to be re-applied.
( Oh well, I really don’t mind in this case. I like it that much.)

I do like this scent, it is a feminine and lovely cherry-strawberry-musk on me, but it only lasts about 20-30 minutes before it fades to nothing! Glad I only paid $19.99 for it; I won’t rebuy. But everyone’s chemistry is different so it may work for you.

  15. :

This is one of my favorites, it’s so soft and beautiful. Smells sophisticated and great everytime I wear it.

  16. :

It lasts for hours on me! It’s a soft fruity floral that’s still noticeable.
I work in a hospital & and I get complements on it at least once a week.

  17. :

A young, sweet smell but not overwhelming or sickly sweet. I mostly smell the strawberries and jasmine. It doesn’t last for long though, I think I applied it about 10 times today and it just doesn’t stick.

  18. :

    4 out of 5

Side note: if you want this scent to last longer, spray some on your clothes.
Hours after spraying it initially, the scent had died down to such a softress, it’s nearly unnoticeable (to myself, unsure of others, as I’m wearing it to bed lol)…
But I kept getting loud whispers of the original sprays and it turns out, it’s coming from my bathrobe 😉

  19. :

Sophisticated cotton candy for adults.. not offensive at all. Die down is soft and pretty.
After about 20-30 mins the scent stays close to the skin but stays sweet. Possibly too sweet for some, I love it before bed.
Have not worn out during the day so not sure how others around me feel about it yet..
    Definitely layer this one on.

I got a 100ml bottle of this as a blind buy for $20. I find this scent very non-linear. I really like the innocently sweet strawberry opening. After the first few minutes on my skin, there is a definite bitterness that emerges and lasts for an hour or two. I am not a fan of this stage, and I am not sure which note is responsible. However, the drydown is a yummy warm fruity vanilla that I absolutely love.
This is a scent I like to spray on before bed. I get to enjoy the opening, sleep through the bitter stage, and wake up to the beautiful dry-down.
    The bottle is beautiful.
    Scent: 6.5/10
    Longevity: 8/10
    Sillage: 6/10
Edit: This scent is really growing on me (even the bitter stage). Upgraded to 7.5/10

I really enjoy this one. It is so very fruity and fresh. And I find it lasts a long time. A good Spring and Summer scent.

  24. :

    5 out of 5

An absolute favorite for spring, cool summer and early fall. Fruity/floral (sweet) but masterfully blended to achieve a divine, sophisticated edge. The majority of fruity/florals lean toward vacation, casual or everyday wear (Ibiza Hippie, True R. Hippie Chick, Coach Poppy and etc.) BCBG MAX AZARIA can be worn for special occasions. It’s not conservative, but manages to be alluring and even a bit classic. I’d select it over Lancome’s la vie est belle, Versace’s Bright Crystal or most of the floral/fruity fragrances. This is much cleaner because it has a non-chemical drydown.

  25. :

    3 out of 5

Sweet strawberries, juicy cherries, violet, rose – they’re all right there in the opening. There’s also a slightly sharp note – perhaps the orris root? – which keeps this from tumbling over the edge into too-sweet territory. I managed to pick up a boxed set with the perfume, shower gel and body lotion after Christmas for a great price. It’s a zingy, fresh, clean, slightly soapy scent that lasts well – to me, this brings to mind watching the sunlight sparkling on the water while you laze on a blanket with a good book. Sillage is pretty good, and it lasts well.

  26. :

    5 out of 5

Was quite surprised by this, it initially smelt like a fruity alcohol drink, which was nice, but after some time i was getting whiffs of a warm, sweet, sensuous smell
    and realised it was this.
The sandalwood and orris root came through and warmed this up so nicely in the dry down, along with cherry and violets.
I can imagine that being around someone wearing this would put you in a good mood.

  27. :

This is so yummy. Totally fruity, sweet, and pink! I don’t find it childish. I am nearly 40 and it suits me just fine. It doesn’t sour on me at all, it is smooth and sweet. I just wish it was longer lasting and stronger. It is too invisible for the price tag it still has here. If it were super cheap I might repurchase just for the fun of it, it makes me happy to smell it. The bottle is beautiful and fun as well. It is the only one I bother putting out for display on the dressing table.

  28. :

I want to try this just because the notes remind me of that Nancy Sinatra song Summer Wine.
‘Strawberries, cherries, and an angel’s kiss in spring …. My summer wine is really made from all these things!’
I’ll have to see if I can find it on clearance at TJ’s, I have seen this there frequently and looked past it, not knowing anything about it.
I really hope this makes me feel like Nancy Sinatra got me drunk and stole my belongings.

  29. :

This is a very pretty scent. I feel like you don’t smell many cherry-based fragrances ever, since cherry can either smell delightful or like children’s cough syrup. It’s light and sweet, but not exactly childish, and definitely not syrupy. It’s just non-offensive, subtle, lovely. It would make a great choice for work or daytime or even just an everyday scent. It lasts about 2 hours on me, which is a little disappointing. My boyfriend likes it. It only cost me $12 at TJ Maxx so I can’t say anything too bad. The bottle is BEAUTIFUL and really reminds me of Justin Bieber’s “Someday” bottle.
I definitely smell the cherry! And strawberry, white wine, and a touch of rose. It reminds me of Cherry Head candies and Shirley Temples. It makes my mouth water. I’m 22 and I feel would work well for ladies in their teens, twenties, and thirties easily.

Got a free sample of this: it smells inexpensive on me. reminds me of a vintage powdery scent that we used to buy at the Five and Dime but I can’t remember the name of it. Definitely not for the sophisticate…
But then, I suppose the target market for this is very young so that fits and it would not be bad for novice noses as long as the price point is reasonable.

What a fun, flirty scent! Sweet and tart, strawberry and cherry candy with a hint of children’s shampoo. Perfect for when you just want to smell girly (at any age), playful and yummy. Instant mood lifter. My kids looooove this, go figure, but so does my hubby. Ha! Nothing to complain about. Very nice. Longevity is decent, better on clothes, and projection is ok the first hour or so and then it tones down. Inoffensive and would easily work in an office environment. Reminds me of a more candied version of SJP NYC.

    Sweet scent for teenage girl!
A little too much sweet for my taste. But if you like cherries and very sweet fragrances I think you’ll like that.

  33. :

I was very excited to add this sweet pink fruity floral to my collection.
In a word, it’s “lovely”. Very sweet, fruity, and bright. I find it pleasant and quite romantic for this time of year…definitely something fun and sweet to wear for Valentine’s day.
The notes are strong with good sillage so a small amount goes a long way. This is one of those scents that is best worn close to your body on pulse points as opposed to being sprayed all over generously.
It’s also a sweet reminder that spring is almost here and this will transition nicely as the seasons change…

  34. :

BCBG Max Azria is strawberry and cherry candy. Do you like strawberry and cherry candy? You might like this. Some reviewers don’t find it syrupy, but others do, including me. Maybe this smells light and airy to heavy fruit scent lovers. I think it smells like a My Little Pony. The syrupy aspect calms down and lightens up in the drydown, but it definitely stays tartly fruity and doesn’t have much in the way of base notes.
I’ll be honest, I sort of ended up owning this by mistake. The info for the sample at Sephora mentioned sandalwood, and after paper testing, I somehow believed it. The base must have dried and gotten crusted on the rollerball, or it went through some sort of cross-pollination accident or something, because it’s definitely all fruit. It was the early days of my perfume interest and I didn’t know what I know now. Lesson entirely learned about skin testing and research!
It doesn’t suit me at all, so I only wear it at home on days when I don’t have fruit and wish I did. Which is probably for the best, as perfumes this sweet bring on the wasps in these parts. Moderate sillage, 5-6 hours’ longevity on me.

I just started becoming a perfume collecter months ago and i have been searching every perfume on this site. I cant believe i never noticed this one. This has every note that i love, strawberries cherry powdery. Im definitely going to buy this off of ebay and come back with a review. I hope its good.

I’m not a big fan of the fruity florals, but I picked this up as an experiment. My husband is a big fan of strawberry, so I’ll see if he ends up liking BCBG. For me, it’s what I would imagine Valentine’s Day would be if it were a fragrance – I smell the strawberries, flowers, sugar…it comes in a pink, flowery bottle. Definitely not my cup of tea for every day use, but I could see using it for some days when I feel like changing things up a bit.

One of my most recent purchases. It was a blind buy but I read great reviews online so I decided to pick one up. First, can we talk about that bottle! So pretty and it sits elegantly on my vanity. The scent inside is a sweet fruity-floral, kind of generic smelling but I got it for $20 at Shoppers so I wasn’t expecting anything show-stopping. Its a nice, light, everyday perfume. I can definitely smell the strawberries and cherry at first spritz but it dries down to a floral, slightly musky scent. It’s super pretty. I would probably wear it more during the spring/summer but I wouldn’t mind wearing it during the colder months as well since it’s so light and inoffensive.

  38. :

Generic, but nice. A floral fruity femine perfume, it is like a juicy sweet scent. Smells simlar to Taylor by Taylor Swiff.

  39. :

    5 out of 5

I am very pleasantly surprised by this one! I received it in a blind swap, based mostly on the promising sounding reviews here. Otherwise, the frilly little pink bottle with the flowery cap looks like something that I would have (and more than likely, did) pass over at TJ Maxx without giving a second thought. But I am really enjoying it! It’s sweet, yes, but not syrupy or loud in its sweetness. Someone below mentioned Shirley Temples, and that is a perfect comparison. This is light and fruity and bubbly. Pink tulle skirts and flower crowns, party balloons and strawberry sodas. It feels girlish, but still wearable for an older woman. It’s sweet and fruity, but doesn’t make me feel like I’ve sprayed myself with bubble gum. Made for springtime, but works in the heat, and possibly interesting when it’s icy cold out? Time will tell.
It’s a very soft perfume, and you can spray quite liberally without worrying about it becoming overwhelming. I do wish it had a bit more projection and stronger longevity, but I like it enough that I will happily respray.
I’m swimming in new bottles and samples at the moment, but I keep coming back to this one! A very happy and pleasing little pink perfume.

I wore this for three years straight- it’s a great scent and very very sweet. Smells to me like grapefruit, sugar, and berries. Fantastic staying power! I got burned out from wearing it all the time so moved on to Viva La Juicy Noir, which I now love.

I’m on a huge blind buy spree lately, and I’ve actually had really good luck this far! So while on a mini vacation this past weekend, I went to a city that has a Marshalls, sadly we don’t where I live! In Marshalls I found a few different perfumes, but for some reason this one stood out to me. So I get home and open it up and start spraying!!! I gotta say I really like this one! It’s VERY sweet, and very girly. Now typically perfumes that are this sweet smell like a teenybopper in a bottle, but this one is a bit different. It almost seems to have some kind of sparkling note that makes it a little bit more sophisticated than your typical sweet fragrance. Definitely a nice find for the stock pile, especially since it was less than $20!!

  42. :

    3 out of 5

I like all three of the perfumes from this collection. They all smell good and have excellent longevity. Good quality and beautiful bottles. I got all three of mine from Marshalls or Ross within the last three months.

I tried it because it was the prettiest bottle in the perfume collection, and I was pleased to find it also smelled the prettiest too. Very feminine. Light, flowery, with a dash of strawberry. I feel so lady like whenever I wear it, which is often. Its light enough for work, and feels like a spring/summer daytime fragrance. Downside is that it doesn’t last past 6 hours, but it isn’t overpriced so one can afford to respray frequently.

  44. :

I first smelled this perfume over a year ago. A friend of mine had recently purchased it and I gave myself a spray. However, I wasn’t a big fan of the scent. It smelled too clean and too floral for my liking. However, it’s been a while since then and I recently came into contact with another bottle and gave the scent a shot with my much more matured nose.
It smelled entirely different than what I had remembered! This fragrance is one that I definitely love. It’s soft, sweet, and fruity and sits nicely on my skin. The cleanness of the fragrance is perfect for Spring and Summer. Nice to finally find a sweet perfume that doesn’t choke me for the spring/summer months. Purchased!

After not really enjoying Guerlain’s La Petite Robe Noir, I thought I didn’t like strong cherry scents. But this one…it is so very sweet and fruity, in the most delicious way possible. I think perhaps the sandalwood adds warmth and prevents it from being cloying in the way I found La Petite Robe Noir to be. The dry down is particularly lovely and soft. Maybe it’s not the most expensive-smelling or sophisticated perfume out there, but I can happily smell this all day long without getting a headache or nauseated. I tried this out on a few cold autumn days, but I think it would work for any season.

  46. :

    4 out of 5

It’s light, girly and sweet. Can definitely smell the strawberries. Suited for day time wear in summer or spring. My bottle say’s it’s a EDP but I find it extremely light and not very long lasting for a EDP. It’s pretty and feminine, although don’t think will repurchase this one again once it runs out.

  47. :

    5 out of 5

A light, feminine floral with fruit… Basic, light, inoffensive, wearable, sweet… but generic. Honestly, this could have been an Ed Hardy because it’s just a basic floral-fruity. I’ll wear it, it’s nice… just nothing special. I’m a gourmand/sweet/fruit nut, and this popped up on my radar, so I tried a cheap tester bottle.

  48. :

    4 out of 5

This is a really pretty scent.
Nice, feminine, very very light, floral with hints of fruity sweet, unoffensive, easy wear fragrance.
Stays close to the body, good for the office or places that you’re in close contact with people and you don’t want to overpower them.
I also use it after my bath before bed just to give a little extra freshness.
longevity, not so great but I have this in a rollerball so i just keep it in my bag and apply a lot and frequently. (rollerball purchased at TJmaxx for 5.99)
I think this is best for the spring/summer months but could easily work as a daily as well.
scent: 9 (wish stay power was longer)
    bottle: 8.5

I don’t particularly love this line of scent this one is very sugary sweet like strawberries dipped in sugar. But a very pretty bottle!

BCBG Max Azria goes on at first as heaps and heaps of strawberries. It smells very sweet and fruity but not really candied. It dries down to a musky floral base but still retains that note of strawberries. If you love strawberries, try this. My coworker could still smell this on me long after I thought it was gone, so I think longevity must be pretty good.

I love this! it’s fruity girly smelling. I’ll be wearing this one for work. It doesnt last as long as the other two BCBG Max perfumes which is a bummer but I could just stick it in my purse.

    I LOVE this perfume!
It took me a long time to find a perfume that I liked until I found this! I loved it right away!
I’ve been wearing it since early 2012 & I continue to get complements ALL the time!
Almost everywhere I go someone stops me & asks what perfume am I wearing & where can they get it.
Many men of all ages have told me how great it smells.

  54. :

A youthful, optimistic fruity floral that is among the higher quality fruity florals and is luckily not a fruitchouli. Reminds me of Bvlgari Omnia and countless other fruity musks. As pretty as it is, I honestly can’t say I like it more than BCBG Bon Chic which is a gorgeous pear-peach-mango kiss.

  55. :

    4 out of 5

This perfume reminds me of chocolate-dipped strawberries, Lucky Charm marshmallows, fluffy bunnies, golden sunlight on a cool spring afternoon.
BCBG Max Azria is better suited for a teenager, but it’s nice for days when you want to feel bubbly and young.

This smells like a lighter version of ocean lounge. I can definitely detect the strawberry note. Although it smelled nice in the tester strip, it barely lasted on me as I couldn’t smell anything soon afterwards.

  57. :

    4 out of 5

Really a great fragrance. I have the Bon Chic and although they are similar, they are very different. This is the fruiter, sweeter version.
I get a lot of the strawberry and cherry in this, while the sandalwood, and musk keep it from being liquid fruit punch. Great spring/summer scent, or for those who like a younger, more fun fragrance day to day.

  58. :

    3 out of 5

I love this. It is very light, fresh, but sweet but not in a cloying way. This has moderate sillage lasting for about 4-5 hrs at the most. I detect traces of cherry and a little citrus with sweet fruits. Very cherishable and lovely.

  59. :

What a nice little gem of a fragrance! Sweet, light and somewhat fresh at the same time. The cute packaging is a definite plus! Great for those days when you aren’t taking life too seriously, just relaxing at home or running errands.
The lasting power is not great, I will probably have to reapply, but overall, a nice perfume for spring and summer.

    beautiful sweet and bright!

This is the strawberry frag I have been looking for! For me the strawberry is by far the most prominent note. The musk helps keep this frag from being cloying. I have been longing for a strawberry fragrance like the Strawberry Shortcake Dolls that were scented back when I was a child. This is as close as I can find, without it being cheap and utterly plastic. Reminiscent of something Escada would create, simply a wonderful summer scent :). $10 dollars at TJMaxx, yep!

  62. :

How I love this fragrance…let me count the ways! It reminds me of a Shirley Temple – almost like a light, cherry soda. It is a soft scent that stays with me all day and the bonus is it can be found for a reasonable price on Amazon, and even at places like TJMaxx.
And the icing on the cake is the BOTTLE which is the prettiest in my collection!

Maybe it’s my chemistry, but this lovely fragrance barely lasts on hour on my skin. As others have said, it’s already a light, spring-time perfume, but I’m really sad that it doesn’t hold on. I’ll end up spraying this all over for a gym session, but it’s not going to last through your day.

After trying both this and Miss Dior, I’ve concluded they’re not that similar and sadly, I prefer this to MD – but not by much. I think strawberry scents aren’t my thing. It’s a vaguely strawberry (synthetic), sweet smell that lacks depth beneath those smells. I think it can be described as simple and would definitely suit a very young girl. It can be found now at Marshal’s or TJMaxx on discount, so that’s a plus but I’m glad I only get the small bottle because the strawberry plus marshmallow combo kind of gives me a headache =/.

    Second review:
After giving this a few wears, I’ve come to two conclusions.
    1) It wasn’t a fluke; this really DOES smell like Lucky Charms marshmallows in the dry-down (and I like it!).
    2) Longevity is greater than I’d expected. I re-sprayed once, mid-day, and late at night my mother was still able to smell it on me. That’s a good 6 hours or more (between reapplication and my Mother smelling it on me), which isn’t bad, especially if bought at a discount price.
Unexpectedly, I really like this alot for casual wear, so much so that when I saw the lotion and a full-size gift set on sale at a discount retailer I snatched them both up. As a youthful, light, girly, casual fragrance, BCBG Max Azria does nicely.

I find this scent really nice. I would definitely classify it as one of my girly fragrances. It’s fresh and light and stays on the skin throughout the day. The first thing I smell when spraying it on my skin is lily of the valley and strawberry. This creates a very nice, crisp smell, perfect for summers. I definitely like wearing this if I’m going to a party or having a girl’s night out with friends.

This is a very singular fragrance from the beginning to end, so there isn’t much to say. It literally smells like waxy, stale sour cherry hard candies. Despite how unappetizing that may sound, I actually find it pleasant. It’s a good layering scent, to add a bit of sour, sweet, fruit dimension to another fragrance that may be a bit linear, such as fruity body splashes.

This is my second review on this fragrance. When I wrote the first one, I was trying too hard to find positive things to say. I really really wanted to like it. However, it just doesn’t satisfy my cherry/strawberry needs. It just smells too medicinal…not something that I want to wear. It’s too syrupy and not fresh enough.
I give the bottle design an 4/5, but sadly I’d only give the scent maybe a 2/5 🙁

This was one of those purchases you regret later. First, and this does matter, the floofy top was a total mistake. I had to throw away all that blossom stuff because it didn’t open the bottle, it just came off in my hand. Very annoying. Second, I made a rooky mistake and bought it after smelling a few different things and didn’t wear it around first, especially outdoors. I think I had fried my nose. When I got home and put it on later I thought: I bought THAT?
After all those disclaimers, here is what it’s really like. Fruity, cotton candy (which I think of as teenager-y). Not terribly complex. Very youthful. It’s for fruit scent lovers.

I just picked up a bottle of this for a song at a discount retailer and what a nice surprise! The cherry-strawberry note is rich and authentic, and the dry down is a pleasant, soft floral musk. I’m finding it to be approachable, light and appropriate for warm weather.

I’m really new to perfumes and notes, I wore coty musk & chantilly as a teen then had a desk job for 25 yrs were I didnt wear perfumes at all, I just started wearing it again in the last year or so..
This smells like cotton candy & strawberries with a warm underside.. Not too heavy just really sweet. I think it would be great for teens & preteens, but at 40++ I love it. Very different from my normal oriental choices.

At first I was not too fond of this, but it totally grew on me. When I was trying to pick a new fragrance to buy a few months ago with my boyfriend this is the one he liked the most that day. I ended up finding it at a discount store and had remembered he liked it so I picked it up. ^_^
I’m pretty sure that this is the fruitiest fruity floral I own, but it is pretty awesome. Usually I like more floral that fruity but BCBG Max Azria totally managed to appeal to me. I get a blast of sweet strawberries and some tart cherries mixing together when it first opens. Slowly some light floral scent starts to emerge, for some reason it smells like peonies to me. Considering that peonies are not listed as a note then I’m going to assume that it’s a combination of the rose and violet creating that effect on my skin. The sandalwood holds it all together making this wearable for a lot more people, creamy but not overwhelming. The fruitiness never quite manages to disappear in this scent, which makes a little more attractive to me.
It is great for the spring and summer since it smells yummy to me, but it never manages to be too sweet. BCBG Max Azria is quite fun and very easy to wear great for a casual day, plus I think it appeals to a wide audience. It makes me happy and I’m usually in a good mood when I wear it. 😀

Maybe I’m mistaking the sample I tried with this, but it isn’t as sweet to me as other reviewers are saying it is. It could just be my body’s chemistry, but the sample I tried was musky. Something I find odd is that my body usually likes to pull out the sweetness of every perfume I ever try in order to create a cloying cloud of sugar around me. However, this perfume is wonderful exception! Sandalwood and musk with the faintest traces of sweet fruits blended with powdery florals. I’ll go to a shop soon to see if this is actually the same perfume as the one I tried. All the slim little rollerball sample had on its bottle was BCBGMAXAZRIA so I’m basically going off deductive reasoning and my sense of smell…

Musky sweet berry, and watered down cherry:( what a disappointment. Not sure how wild strawberry is the strongest note here? Definitely not! Not saying it’s not there, but musk and synthetic sugar mask it all up, and suffocate my two favorite notes.
The perfume itself is very average; it lacks quality.
Strawberry and cherry lovers -Beware! Try it before you buy it!

I’m not going to lie, BCBG Max Azria is a really pleasant fruity floral. It’s nothing out of the ordinary, but it did take me by surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed its bright, feminine and carefree nature.
BCBG Max Azria is a subtle, sugary strawberry scent. It’s more creamy than juicy on the skin, reminding me in some ways of the now discontinued Ralph Wild, another strawberry dominant fragrance. <br /
