My best friend gifted it to me and I loved it right away. A fresh rose, nothing too complicated but the packaging is so simple and compact so I usually travel with it.

Update. In the 3 years I’ve had this perfume, I used about 13 of it. Just to simple and clean for me. I gave it away to someone who appreciates rose scents more than I do.

Freshly cut wet rose that disappears quickly. Fairly realistic. You might not smell patchouli if you weren’t looking for it. There is a clear citrusy accord, like bergamot, which is much more discernible. (Wait just checked the notes again and there IS bergamot)

So me being a guy and not really being fond of rose scents I decided to get a decant of this because it’s labeled unisex. Too bad it’s really not as I don’t pick up any patchouli, just rose and bergamot. All of the Kiehl’s were discontinued around a year or so ago and I really don’t see anybody paying the hefty price for it on Ebay. It’s pretty much a clean rose for modern women. One rose scent that I do love is Paul Smith’s which is ironically labeled feminine when it should be unisex. Go figure right..

Nice, simple, friendly rose scent. Nothing old-ladysh, cloying, old fashioned rose: it’s a very fresh, youthfull, modern and wearable rose smell, although perhaps a bit too uncomplicated. Slighltly reminiscent of L’Occitane Rose line, but fresher, weter, not so sweet. The patchouly and the citruses gives it a tart and almost crunchy feeling. The lasting power and the projection are very good.
    A bit pricey, though.

I fell in love with this fragrance at first sniff, as I’ve always been a fan of rose scents. Unfortunately, the fragrance doesn’t seem to stick long, very weak, soapy rose scent. Definitely a day fragrance.

Just clean fresh roses and nothing else… Unfortunately it reminds me of my nannas toilet air freshner.

Judging from the notes i thought it would smell like a chypre of some sort and maybe like coxo mademoisellebut not at all,ifs a bit more basic and rosy, and to be honest rose is the only thing i smell, patchoukli is so weak, but i love it,probably gonna buy it before kiehls discontinue this after the vanikla cedarwood.. *hint hint*

Clean soapy warm rose is with a little citrus upon first spraying. Light and fresh, I don’t really get any patchouli, which is a down side for me. All in all its just a nice simple fragrance, nothing unique or that makes it stand out. I’ve owned it for over a year and I just wear it at home. It’s okay, I’d give it a 3.2

A simple and pretty rose, surprisingly and pleasantly warm.

The opening was more citrusy than I expected – not harsh but definitely not soft. Then the citrus disappeared and then came the rose and patchouli. And they are beautiful. The rose is fresh, clean and delicate – instead of heavy.
I really like it. Couldn’t stop sniffing my arm where I test-sprayed it. I’m new to rose smell – didn’t particularly enjoyed it before but I’m very willing to try and I think this suits my needs for a newbie in rose smell. <3

It’s so limpid like crystal clear water. An elegant, plain, cold rose… Beautiful!

Covering a wide range of olfactory spectrum, Kiehl’s fragrance line is very decent with balanced notes and ingredients of good quality.
    [Comparing Kiehl’s with Lady Vengeance]
I’m testing both frags on my arms and here’s what I feel:
Kiehl’s rose/patchouli combo does share some similarities with Lady Vengeance but there’s all that to it. I wouldn’t say they are close. Kiehl’s rose opens with citrus, which is absent in L.V., followed by rose that is watered down. Overall, it’s more gender neutral and way soapier than L.V.
L.V. got more depth. It’s slightly sweetened by the vanilla, creating a richer effect. I prefer L.V. but still love wearing Kiehl’s since it’s very easy to wear.

Linear is exactly what these Kiehl’s fragrances are you get pretty much exactly what you’re expecting but well blended and in proportion. If I’m honest I’m fairly picky about scents which contain rose or patchouli for that matter, they have to be just right. The balance here between the notes is really good opens with a hint of citrus but then the rose appears and is ultimately too feminine for me. The patchouli is quite subdued which I like but not enough to wear this one… I still rate Kiehls highly but this is not for me.

A nice watery sweet rose scent, light on the patchouli. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative I’d say try the original Kate by Kate Moss – the one in the pink bottle. Has a similar theme and costs less than a tenner at many discount chemists.

The latest entry in the innovative Kiehl’s Aromatic Blends series is Patchouli & Fresh Rose. I suspect that the name may lead to a fair amount of disappointment among amateurs of such creations as Juliette Has A Gun Vengeance Extrême. Anyone who is looking for another über-patchouli rose powerhouse will not find it here.
However, (Patchouli &) Fresh Rose really is a fresh and watery, somewhat abstract rose scent which will surely appeal to the throngs of Chloé (Coty, not Lagerfeld) fans out there. I find similarities also to Cartier Goutte de Rose and Ferré Rose, though this composition seems a bit less sweet.
This creation fits right in with the twenty-first-century aesthetic of cleanliness and simplicity in perfume. The patchouli is quite light and does not come within a mile of the stereotype of the stinky hippy. Clean and fresh, and very appropriate for public settings even in closed quarters. This is another case where, as a cologne (which this is), I’m ready to sign on, but I would not rank such a light and friendly office-ready scent among the noble rose perfumes of the twentieth century.
For modern gals, (Patchouli &) Fresh Rose would be an excellent all-occasion fragrance to wear just about anywhere. I like it much better than most of the designer scents being proffered these days, often in garish bottles with plastic doodiddles and hats and sometimes bling as well.
The Kiehl’s vessel is spare and apothecary in style–by design–and the scent inside is simple but worthwhile as well. Nothing in this series qualifies as chemical soup, in my opinion. Plant life was sacrificed in the production of these perfumes, happily.

I tried it and liked it on the spot!
It’s a very fresh rose, mainly a rose scent.
Citrus is strong in the opening and patchouli is very tamed, not raw and wild.
I think it’s a very wearable scent, feminine and clean. It can be an uplifting scent in the middle of city smog, because it smells like a summer day in a garden.
It has some acute pitch, not a mellow fragrance at first. It changes according to chemistry.
I didn’t buy because I have plenty of good roses, but I recommend this if you’re looking for a fresh rose scent.

Simply AMAZING perfume and you must imagine my surprise seeing it available so soon, in Greece no less! I took home a sample as I only went to the Kiehl’s corner to inquire about the musk essential oil. Spraying “Patchouli and fresh rose” instantly lifted my spirits and I felt like walking in a cloud of flowery freshness! Instant buy! The rose is indeed fresh, not like “D&G the One rose”, or other rose perfume. The patchouli is not intense like ,say, “Gucci by Gucci” and the citrus is there just to add to its rainy freshness. Mostly a light spring/summer perfume but really for ANY day, of ANY season you want to get a beautiful headstart on a long work day!
