Sweet fragrance which smells exactly like hairspray. I think maybe Ellnet?
(sniffs again) Yes, just like hairspray but without the hold. : )
I quite like the smell of hairspray…..
This would be a good fragrance to give to a little girl to play with, as I don’t think it would be too much. Very glad I had the chance to try this fragrance but it isn’t one I would purchase.

Eclix opens up with a light citrusy note followed by a strong almonds and/or cacao which unfortunately goes up in my head for a while in a bad way. I’m not particulary found of the opening but once it settles Eclix developes into a semisweet citrus, vanilla and almond fragrance that I find sweet smelling but not edible as some say.
It’s very wearable and somehow yummy in this stage, however not so breathtaking that it will be an addition to my wardrobe. I guess this kind of fragrance is not what I usually wear, as I’m more into big ballsy florals ;). Since my sample was so small I layered it with L Lolita Lempicka later on and it smelled lovely.

“Eclix” is a very delicious fragrance. Honestly.
At first i wasn´t impressed much, but after i have tried it several times i tend to like it more and more each time. After very first test i thought it smelled just like an ordinary soft vanilla with almondy touch. Maybe the weather wasn´t right, maybe my nose was tired, i don´t know, but now i see this perfume as a delisious baked almond muffin with chocolate coating/topping. I read that someone compares it also to a lemon pie with chocolate coating and i agree. But i is not all about lemon, “eclix” contains a strong yet delicate almond note as well. So this is almondy-lemon pie with chocolate coating.
At fist it opens a bit sharp, thanks to bergamote and quite strong cocoa note, but then quite quickly turns into softer scent of “milky” almond and still preserves that soft sharpness with very noticable bergamote note. I like that stage very much, because the very opening is bit out of the whole concept for me. I like the freshness and the creaminess of this fragrance a the same time. It is very well balanced as well, and i respect that too.
Lovely lovely lovely, but i see it only as a colder time fragrance. At least on me. That´s when it opens probably at it´s best.
P.S. I totally don´t get the bottle concept. I guess since it was year 2000 and the beginning of new millenium they wanted to create something more extravagant (i remeber the fashion for year 1999/2000 was also quite futuristic in some trends, which quickly went by as people realised that nothing extraordinary happened. My guess is that the case with the bottle design). I find the bottle design totally unappealing and not suitable for this fragrance. Maybe it was the downside of this fragrance? 🙂
UPDATE: i think “Gattinoni couture” is a younger sister of “La Perla Eclix”. They do share similar notes (almond, vanilla, bergamote, musk) and combination of some notes in “Couture” actually smells remotely familiar with “Eclix”: tonka bean is a somewhat repalcement for cocoa in “Eclix”, lilly of the valley is a substitute for lotus in “Eclix” and peony-cyclamen is a substitute for black currant in “Eclix” (however i don´t smell neither much peony-cyclamen in here nor black currant in “Eclix”).
They are not exactly the same smelling but share similarities.

I got a sample of this from someone, and loved it. I then looked it up on Fragrantica and saw that not only was it discontinued years ago, it was also very expensive to get a decant or on eBay. Luckily I happened on someone clueless and got a full bottle for a song. It smells so wonderful and stays on me all day.

I bought it just because it was discontinued and I like La Perla in general. in the begining it come light coco nut valila-ish rose, then it opens as a chocolate with a hint of 90th dust (smething sour in this , but in a good sence) It is interesting, warm and wrapping you around in a bad weather. Good for winter.

I completely agree with sherapop, I feel that Eclix is almost like a more zesty version of Trussardi Inside which I absolutely adore! 2 completely unique perfumes which I just added to my collection based on reviews from here! 🙂

I accidentally landed on a tester of Eclix. I bought it. I loved the opening notes, so sparkly and delicious. Rhubarbs and a little lemon and strawberry. Somehow it reminds of the the magic spoon of Marry Poppins…. I imagined its contents to taste the way this fragrance smells. After a while it turns powdery and musky. Cocoa never really shows up on my skin, it’s just a hint. It’s sweet but not enough to make it a gourmand. The almonds are honey roasted. Delicious. Some kind of blond wood scent envelopes the fragrance from the beginning til the end. Somehow, and I don’t know what note that is, there is also a very sexy odour of skin tanning in the sun.
The silage and lasting power are average, considering this is edp. The bottle is cool but I was very disappointed that it’s not metal, but rather plastic looking like metal.
Well, I enjoy it a lot. It’s sexy, special and innofensive. But not amazing.

It breaks my heart whenever I smell fragrances like Eclix, knowing full well that they’ve been discontinued indefinitely. Many spectacular gourmands have unfortunately been taken from us, most likely at a time when sweet, foody scents weren’t so popular. L’Or de Torrente is another discontinued gem that I sorely miss.
Eclix is a beautiful lemon, almond and vanilla blend. It’s not too sweet nor too strong. In fact, it’s quite inoffensive and soft. It smells a little bit like a lemon tart, but also quite vanillary, so I would say it is more of an oriental vanilla rather than a full-blown gourmand.
The vanilla accord is thankfully soft, creamy and fluffy rather than thick and heady. Lemon and bergamot gives this fragrance a delicate and zesty quality, which really adds to the complexity of this composition.
Whenever I wear Eclix I feel cuddly and warm. It has a beautiful, casual smoothness that brings it so close to perfection. The famous lemon and vanilla blend in Guerlain’s Shalimar doesn’t rival Eclix at all. In fact, I consider them both on the same level and appreciate their differences.
Eclix doesn’t smell overly expensive or even fantastically unique, but it has an uncanny way of growing on you, and for that reason alone, Eclix is missed by so many of its fans. In my opinion, the truly hideous bottle does not match the scent whatsoever.
Unfortunately, Eclix doesn’t last very long on the skin, which left me feeling very disappointed. Three hours was all this fragrance could muster. It would have been really lovely to experience Eclix just that little bit longer. Despite its bad points, I still hold firm to my opinion that this fragrance should never, ever have been removed from the market.

Another one of my beloved fragrances, maybe because it contains almond. Very sweet with drydown of vanilla and cocoa. Floral almond not too gourmand. Particular because of the presence of lotus. I don’t understand why La Perla has discontinued it. I mourn it

I was delighted to happen upon a windfall of La Perla discontinued perfumes at one of my favorite online emporia, and ECLIX was my favorite of the bunch. Reviewers have compared this perfume to a variety of different fragrances, but from the ones in my collection, I find this creamy and delicious composition most similar to Trussardi INSIDE. The big difference is that in ECLIX cocoa beans have replaced the coffee beans.
True, the other notes differ in details, but the osmanthus in ECLIX behaves as osmanthus nearly always does in complex compositions, in perfect conformity with my osmanthus = tofu theory. Yes, in a perfume with strong notes such as cocoa, osmanthus tends to go along for the ride, absorbing whatever other notes happen to be nearby, just as tofu ends up tasting like whatever it was cooked in.
No, ECLIX does not smell like tofu. It smells rather like INSIDE, though, to my nose–much more so than does BELLE EN RYKIEL, to which the Trussardi is often compared. In any case, since I like INSIDE, I obviously like ECLIX, too. This perfume is slightly less sweet–cocoa is not chocolate–which could be good news for those who find INSIDE too sweet. ECLIX seems slightly more oriental and less gourmand to me. The sillage is quite low (in contrast to INSIDE), and I believe that some guys who feel comfortable in fragrances such as A*MEN might enjoy this one as well.
Here are the notes, according to my tester bottle:
    top–osmanthus, blackcurrant leaves, bergamot
heart–water lily, May rose, almond blossom
    base-exotic woods, cocoa, white musk
What a coup. Now I’m going to have to return to my source to buy up all of the available complementary ECLIX body products. Yes, indeed.

NEVER that Eclix seems like Burberry woman…no no no.
Burberry woamn is ok but Eclix is a great perfect vanilla, so different!

Probably one of the best fragrances I have ever came across. It makes my olfactory bulbs go mad; soft bergamot and lotus notes mixed with my favourite almond, cacao seeds and the most natural vanilla. Deliciously sexy and unfortunately, rare and expensive. I am not sure what is the point of discontinuing best sellers such as Eclix.
Eclix oscillates between gourmand and oriental vanilla, nevertheless, it is mature and seductive.
I got numerous compliments when wearing Eclix and to my surprise no one knew the fragrance.
I consider it a great advantage as I hate to smell like half a crowd I walk past on my shopping day.
Eclix is great for office and works for men; it is definitely going to be my all times favourite.
I wish I knew what nose stands behind this wonder!
P.S. Eclix is very similar to L by Lolita Lempicka. If you can’t get your hands on Eclix, worry not as L is a twin sister to Eclix.

I loved this one, especially for the cacao drydown note. It was so wearable (and cheap). It seems to be a golden rule with cosmetic/fragrance companies – ALWAYS DISCONTINUE YOUR BEST PRODUCTS or the alternative policy, MAKE THEM LIMITED EDITIONS.

AMAZING!!! Warm but not hot and bothered, sweet but not sickly, spicy but not over kill, oriental but not a trip to china town, sexy but subtle… I could go on for days. It’s my favourite scent & I feel truly alive when I wear it.
I was lucky enough to find the ECLIX range in the clearance section when I went in to purchase another fragrance. Forgot what I had gone in for and walked out with as much ECLIX as I could carry.
If you love this fragrance as much as I do, I recommend trying CHRISTOS by Christopher Chronis. I believe it’s also discontinued but if you can get your hands on it, it’s equally exquisite.

Very clean opening on my skin which settles down into a very wearable gourmand..incredibly subtle yet sweet skin scent, very balanced and not overwhelming. Begins with citrus and lotus then morphs into sweet, powdery almonds and the perfect dark cocoa in the far dry down..such a shame it’s discontinued! It seems Eclix would appeal to those who cannot usually wear the headier gourmands..

First of all I wanted to say that I always feel sad when I test a perfume that I know is discontinued. Why? Because I’m sad of the fact that I did no try this when it still was available and because of the ridicilous price on ebay.
Now, let’s get to this oriental vanilla called Eclix. It opens with wonderful, warm and sugary black currants dipped in some kind of vanilla sauce. The scent is lovely in many ways. I can feel the slight bitterness of almonds and the light, fresh, ocean-like bits of lotus (it does that for my skin every time).
This is very, very jummy I must say, but…it’s even a little bit too sugary, too tart, too edible for me to enjoy completely. And somehow the lotus disturbs me as I think it does not blend well with all the gourmand alomnd-vanilla part.
Still – I love the drydown, the cacao is bitter, dark and gives incredible depth.
Yes, I wish I had tried this when it was produced. And yes, this all does make me sad.

I really liked Eclix when it first came out in 2000. La Perla fragrances may not appeal to everyone, but they usually have a precise personality.
Eclix smells very very sweet vanilla with a strong citrus burst at the beginning. In spite of its simplicity it has a lot of sub-tones and nuances through out its evolution on skin. It smells much more complex than citrusy-vanilla. Flowers are present, but very faint and I honestly couldn’t say it was lotus flower, because it is so deeply hidden in the mix! I was attracted by the weird bottle. It looks like an eye! After a short period of love I grew bored of it, because it smelled way too sweet and cloying, but I regret I don’t have any bottle now. I don’t know why they discontinued it (and other beautiful scents).

Eclix is very special to me, I take care of my bottle like gold, this fragrance is a gift from God, and I don’t know why La Perla would discontinue this delicious scent. This one is so exotic and fresh, the almond and chocolate notes make it a mouth-watering gourmand, and to my husband’s eyes I become the perfect dessert every time I spray some drops on me.

I agree with Amarilla on this one… It’s definitely not a gourmand on me and it really does smell “shower fresh”, but NOT as soapy as something like D&G Sicily. The bergamot gives it a fresh sharp opening. After it subsides, I get the the lotus blossom and a little bit of the almonds (though I was hoping for more). At the dry down, I get vanilla and musk with just a hint of chocolate (again, I was hoping for more)…. Though I’m disappointed that it’s not as “chocolatey” as I was expecting….I can’t say that this fragrance was a complete letdown. Mostly, it was a surprise, I guess you could say. But it was really very nice. I actually enjoyed the freshness at the beginning, and the “somewhat” gourmandness at the end. It’s like eating a slightly perfumed-hold-the-sugar pastry.

    Chocolate covered lemon pie!
One of my favourites! I take care of my 30mL bottle because I won’t find it anymore… 🙁
*** Note: I think La Perla was not that smart discontinuing this and putting “Charme” or “J’Aime” to take its place. It wasn’t a good idea.***

  31. :

Eclix is marked as an edible gourmand vanilla and I wonder why.
On me it’s kind of shower fresh and not at all sweet -probably due to the bergamot. I can’t smell any almond pie and stuff like that. It is a roundish, well balanced fragrance with an appreciable note of vanilla in the drydown but not at all sweet. It’s just right, I truly cherish my bottle ’cause it has been discontinued as far as I know.

I so adore this fragrance. Complex and distinct. It begins as slightly fresh and ever so slightly woody and green, can really smell those blackcurrant leaves. Gradually, the soft floral mixes in, but still tempered by the woodiness in such a gorgeous way, with a hint of the chocolate that’s to come. When the chocolate arrives, it’s like a delicious dark cocoa, but not foody as it’s mixing with the florals and musk. Love it! And other people seem to love it on me too. Packaging though…weellll….it just doesn’t suit the fabulous fragrance inside. I showed my girlfriend and she made motions like a little spaceship…I think it looks like a huge alien eye. Oh, well, you can be guaranteed it won’t look like any other bottle on your dresser!

Eclix smells like a hot sweet almond pie. It’s a rich, edible and sexy scent. Sweet perfumes lovers must try it!
