Training wheels for Niche Newbies; friendly in its approach. A fruity, honeyed blast gives way to some extreme saccharine with a tease of summertime florals. Lazuli is somehow blue without a touch of “blue notes.” The tobacco is present but nowhere near as strong as the votes indicate. The main body of the perfume is an assortment of plum, osmanthus and bergamot. A periphery of mate followed by undisturbed vanilla, makes this very much cosmopolitan rather than specific. The jasmine and honey are more apparent as the frag transitions toward the dry down. The sandalwood undulates back and forth as a teaser note adding character to this oriental blend. Overall, this is innocuous.

2:30 – Opens with the listed top notes and tobacco, strong, rather masculine. When I tried this in the store, it was much more feminine, with the floral and spice notes dominating.
2:50 – Honey and a *touch* of vanilla coming through. I’m about to wash this off because I have a limited amount of tolerance for smelling like a dude, but this is sexy. Very much for a silver fox or a larger gentleman. I’m not so sure this is a match for the under 40 crowd but I have a friend that I’ll give the sample to and see how it goes on him.

“ooooh….. this is good” I thought, as I applied generously from the bottle. It puts me in mind of some of the classic spicy scents of the 1960s and 70s. At times it almost veers towards chypre territory. It’s unisex, yes, but perhaps slightly more masculine. To my considerable disappointment, it all fell away after about 2 hours. At the 3-hour mark it was all but gone. And at £240 a bottle, that’s not what one should expect.

This is in the same family as D&G The One edp, but it is slightly fresher, sweeter, and thus livelier. The differences give it the bluish hue, which could just be a perceived connection with the color of the bottle. To the contrary of antonpan’s opinion, I prefer “the story” told by Bleu Turquoise, which has captivated my olfactory attention to the point that I can’t help but reach for it without thought or hesitation. To each his own…
As for performance, Bleu Lazuli starts off strong, but collapses into a skin scent within 3 hours, where it remains for 10+ hours. Projection starts off moderately strong, but cowers close to home within 2-3 hours. So, for an Armani Prive, it is below average in performance compared to others in the line. I don’t see this as a true unisex fragrance either as it leans very masculine.

Blue Lazuli is a big love to me. Much better story than Bleu Turquoise. A fruity peachy/pineapple-tobacco. Love how the tobacco is intergrated into a fruity genre. Not associated with a blue color absolutely.
In the dry down I get a less sweet Frapin 1270 / ELDO Remarkable People vibe. That’s a paradise!
