I loathe everything about the CODE line. Nothing but a boring, generic and highly over-hyped line.
Bring Back ATTITUDE!!!
arkasha1 – :
I simply love it. Enough said !!!

I was given this blind by my fiance at the time, after trying the original Code (and liking it). Yes, the smooooth bergamot and neroli are prominent on top, then a pit stop of some star anise. Smokey leather , bright vanilla, and some citrus still hanging around make their permanent stay enjoyable. Longevity was moderate when I first received the bottle. This frag taps people on the shoulder to let them know it’s around.

I’m wearing Special Blend and I have to say that I prefer it over Armani Code Profumo. Profumo is nice…but it just has this ‘club’ vibe to it and I’m more of a ‘lounge’ kind of guy..LOL.
I’ve never owned Original Code but I have compared the original to this and prefer Special Blend. Blend is warm with a slightly sweet scent….the tobacco and tonka bean with the fresh opening make this a sexy fragrance. Longevity and projection are quite good….better than the original based on some sampling I did. I don’t know how easy it is to get this fragrance though it looks like you can get it from the online Giorgio Armani store.

I’m disappointed that there are so many limited reviews on this fragrance. Then again, it might be that everyone is smart enough not to give Armani their time of day, since they haven’t produced anything exciting in a while.
Well, based on the aforementioned, I was forced to buy this fragrance blindly, since no stores in my area carried it, and I’m utterly disappointed. For those stating this is 80% Armani code original, you hit it on the head. I’d say it’s more like 90%. Regardless, it’s a complete flop, in my honest opinion. The name, the packaging, the marketing, and hype is so appealing. The “roasted” tonka bean was the note that got me. In all fairness to Special Blend, the opening and mid do indeed give off an incense/smoky/burnt complexity to the original formula, but once it settles (about 30 minutes in), it’s the same Armani code we’re all familiar with.
Although it isn’t a bad fragrance, it isn’t worth it’s outrageous price. If you’re looking to replenish your Armani code, this is a decent choice, but if you already own the original, save your money. Longevity and projection is also just as terrible and the original, if not worse.

ARMANI..enough with the code. create a new one please!
Haushacousa – :
It starts with an orange citrusy smell but soon turns to warmer-spicy star anise and woody notes. Great for fall/winter days. Not too strong subtle fragrance. I believe it suits all ages. I give 7 out of 10.

I was walking out of Macys when an SA handed me a little tester strip which she had just sprayed with this new Armani Code Special Blend.. This is just my first impression of this fragrance.. Off of the paper this Special Blend smells like a warmer & perhaps sweeter Code but at the same time a toned down Code.. Yes it smells warm and has a lot of that sweet tonka but it is missing some of the notes like leather which made Code interesting to me.. The leather note is what I enjoy about the original Code and this Special Blend leaves out the leather and adds more tonka.. This Special Blend is like a reworked Code which is trying to be a bit more modern.. It definitely still smells like Code and it still smells good but I think the original Code is the better choice.. But than again this is just my first impression..

Opening reminiscent of ginger ale and pumpkin spice cake. Somewhat gourmand’ish . The ginger ale would be of a higher quality brand found in a health food store vs the supermarket (Canada Dry). More syrupy as well.
The dry down goes back to original code with a hint of ginger ale fizziness underneath.
It’s not bad and I actually prefer it to the new Dior Savuage which I am testing again on my other arm. Driving home from Macys I noticed a nice waft of fragrance…..it was the special blend.
My issues has to do with too many codes. If you like this how long will it be available ? Why get into something if it will soon disappear. RIGHT ?
I say both the Sauvage and the Special Blend have similar performance but I would give the projection to Special Blend over Savauge by a few inches.

I’ve never owned Armani Code (though I have smelled it). I also owned a bottle of Code Ultimate, and I quite liked it. I picked up a bottle of Code Special Blend….and it’s pretty nice. Lots of tonka here with almond. It’s an attractive fragrance that I can see being quite a compliment-getter. The combination of tonka and tobacco with citrus on the top makes this a pretty nice scent.
ruti_lena – :
I love the code ultimate version. It’s an edt intense but already too weak sillage. Armani fragrances have all this problem. They are much too weak. That’s the reason why I won’t buy them. We need a edp or pure parfum version. Code is actually a nice scent.
Invopemomon – :
oh Bby, not another sweet men´s cologne…why all the men have to smell like pussies nowaday?? Im a girly girl and want a man with a MANLY cologne on, nothing vanila, tonka, amber, caramel..etc. sweet
asher – :
@ScottyVizz Yes I can confirm that it has been released in the UK. Only can be found at the airports though. I’ve already helped my friends to get 3 bottles and me myself tried it at the airport. It’s a tonka bean bomb.
Take out the freshness of the original, add more spicies and make the tonka even more prominent, that’s what I got from the special blend.
One of my friends posted on Facebook said it’s a BEAST MODE!!!
filippov__1986 – :
Hasn’t been released yet, so why are y’all rating it like you’ve tried it?
vinogradsel – :
Looks like the old Code with some new notes, I have and love the original, so I’d give this a sniff!
operss – :
Well , I had the original version & I liked it & now I have the sport edition & I love it , so since the new version the notes seems wonderful I’ll be crossing my fingers till it arrives to Egypt!
