1 of my life’s biggest disappointments; this scent brings dark-memories indeed of hopes trashed and brought a new light somewhat in me being overly skeptical about not only Niche but any scent.
The main problems are; well everything – the scent 1st has a designer vibe, that creepy ‘cloud’ that you know accompanies a 1000 department store memories
This one is sweet but it’s basically an almony-saffronic apple pie; a sort of almond puff pastry would best describe it, 1 or 2 rungs down the ladder from Ambre Narguile, another one of those ‘rockstars’ that I just plain dislike
The ‘syrup’ and ‘thick but clear/smooth’ or ‘Sugar-water’ that I crave in a scent (SDV) is not there; the apple is no where near what i wanted and in the end it is simply a marzipan-pineapple puff pastry with a side of vanilla and faint band-aid in the backdrop
My rating: 3/10

I was graciously sent a sample of Parfumerie Bruckner Aoud 1 back in 2014 and have been wanting a bottle ever since. Sadly, as mentioned elsewhere in M. Micallef Aoud 1’s description, “Aoud 1 by M. Micallef is an Oriental Vanilla fragrance for men. Aoud 1 was launched in 2010 as part of a private label created especially for Bruckner Munich, Germany by M. Micallef” so it was only available in a handful of stores in Germany, pricey, and not easy to obtain.
Thankfully, it looks as though it is now being distributed by M. Micallef, but it is still difficult to find…but find it I shall. Anyway, there are four really top-notch plum-oud fragrances (Bond No. 9 Andy Warhol, Tom Ford Plum Japonaise, Perris Monte Carlo Bois d’Oud and Aoud 1 by Micallef/Parfumerie Bruckner. I have Andy Warhol and Bois d’Oud and plan to pick-up Plus Japonaise one of these day, but I would have to say my favorite from this genre is Aoud 1 – a head over heels immediate love even though the others are top-notch.
Aoud 1 performs well in that it lasts 12+ hours on my skin and project well for 4-6 hours on my skin. People are going to notice you so go light on the trigger. But they will also ask what you’re wearing because it’s just a delightful head-turner. Love, love, love this stuff.

Scent – plum, green apple & peach.
Season/Time of Day – I prefer to use this one in the warmer months, day or night.
Projection – I didn’t get noticed, I didn’t get a compliment.
Longevity – I get 12hrs consistently.

Notes from a small sample.
A smooth fruity-floral Oud composition, similar in spirit to Jubilation XXV without the incense.
I was immediately reminded of Bois d’Oud by Perris Monte Carlo; however this smells much more polished and natural.
Will update on longevity and projection when I’ve spent more time with it.
UPDATE (25th Jan 2017)
I finally got around to wearing my sample. Projection and Longevity were very good; it lasted a whole day with 4 hours of arm-length projection after which it settled to a small bubble around me. My cardigan held on to the scent for days afterwards.
Scentwise, It’s very a much nicer rendition of Bois d’Oud without the strange gasoline-like note at the top. The notes most prominent to my nose were the peach & plum at the top and mid, with a smooth floral note of jasmine taking over before settling to a base of wood &vanilla.
All in all, a very pleasant, high-quality scent. I give this a solid like.
