This is truly lovely, chic yet accessible – many thanks to my overseas sample supplier – we don’t get this brand in the UK (as far as I know, please someone prove me wrong).
It has a sophisticated chypre opening that does indeed suggest a “classic” from a bygone decade – I’m at a loss to name it though! Rochas, Cartier? Not Chanel or Dior that’s for sure.
It is so bright and uplifting yet beguiling that I’ve used three dabs just writing this! Slow down!! I’ve only got 1.5 ml!
It moves on swiftly via a chocolatey accord to a plummy peachiness which is rescued from pudding-dom by the bergamot and something a little herbal. The middle section rushes on apace, the floral notes being warm and mellow with the use of cinnamon and carnation.
Here it lingers for a good long time before settling into the lower realms which to my mind owe much to Mitsouko – a subtle, mysteriously smoky oriental with delicate touches of musk and patchouli, and a hint of woody sweetness. All on 3 dabs! Imagine a great spritzy haze of it……… ah, to dream.

Based on previous reviews I had braced myself for a dramatically green opening. It’s green and citrusy, sure, but nothing as traumatic as the opening of Cartier’s Must, just a tad more citrusy than Chanel’s Coco. I even kinda like it.
Sometimes, in the middle phase, the tonka and labdum can make it super smooth, like the skin of a plum pudding. It’s not syrupy or artificially sweet, though. The final and longest phase is a spicy, warm, Christmas-like scent where the cinnamon and incense take over. It’s incredibly comforting. It also lasts an incredibly long time – even through baths.
The Jamba Juice Guy and I have grown rather fond of it.

A shot of green notes at very Top. Looking at the notes list, what is that all about?
Then I read the ‘green fresh floral’ and it’s pretty strong from the vial bottle and 1st on my skin. Not impressed.
But after 5 wearings, a very realistic plum note emerges without fail at about 5 minutes in every time.
Then immediately it starts to really bolden and tart up becoming very rich, much more sweet, with spicy elements.
Some very creamy beautiful florals start peeking and then residing. The sweetness, spicyness , fruitiness – all are perfectly balanced and super-refined, it becomes a real joy to wear. Still plummy but now alongside rich cardamom and carnation in harmony. Beautiful!
The peach note is possibly the best I’ve ever tried in a scent and it’s total-comfort scent approved with billowing warmth from the ambery notes.
It’s just very sad they had to stick that odd dash of green right up front, where the scent could have have made-do with some nice lemons instead. Very strange and I cannot give it a ‘Buy worthy’ 8+ for myself because of it.
When it comes to scents, I’m a Top-note 1st Impressionist diva and it just keeps baffling me why designers who clearly are capable of producing this level of quality stick these odd elements in their openings.
I would have scored this a 10 but now this gets 3 whole points knocked off becasue I don’t want to have a guilty regret for 5 minutes every time I spray after shelving $200 dollars on a bottle. Gypsy water can pull off perfection with much simpler notes, so really, this overall disappointment doesn’t bother me one bit in the end =]
But to end on a deserved high for this 1, the Quality of notes is possibly the best I’ve sampled alongside Creeds, which is possibly the highest praise!
Scent: 6/10

I totally understand why people rave about this perfume, because it is pure beauty.
I was eager to try it because of the notes: tonka, sandalwood, labdanum, cinnamon, peach, plum, cardamom. And indeed I feel them all very clearly, and in such a harmonious interplay!
I cannot tell if al02 is sweet or powdery, or woody, because it’s all this. The opening is very fruity, after that unfold the flowers (rose and carnation) and spices (cardamom!), and the base is more on the woody side. But, again, it’s a 3D perfume, it’s multidimensional and full of surprises.
When I wore al02 from my dab vial (just two drops on my wrists), my non-perfumista friend (and a woman of sophisticated taste) told me that she bets it is one of the great classics. “I cannot tell you exactly which one, but it definitely was created years ago and has had a great success… and it is not commonly worn because it’s very expensive and also is an evening, festive perfume”. To me, it says it all.
I would not agree with the “evening” part, though. I wanna wear it all the time. Life is too short to save wonderful things for special occasions. I think we should enjoy life every day 🙂

120) Parfum pour un ange
God it is beautiful! I can not prevent myself from close my eyes to let me be lulled when I breathe this perfume. This is no longer sculpture is of silverware. When you think it will fall into the sweety fresh notes come to invigorate and when you think it falls in simplicity new notes arise. Very difficult to describe because of its complexity, I find it mainly revolves around tonka bean, the flower of Carnation and cardamom.
Unisex, easy to wear, very elegant, this fragrance deserves the highest praise.

I do not know any comparable perfume. I deliberately tried Versilia Platinum from the same Nose in Profumi Del Forte to compare and couldn’t smell any resemblance at all.
Dieu c’est beau! Je ne peux pas m’empêcher de fermer les yeux pour me laisser bercer quand je respire ce parfum. Ce n’est plus de la sculpture c’est de l’orfèvrerie. Au moment ou vous pensez qu’il va tomber dans le douceâtre des notes fraiches viennent le ressaisir et quand vous pensez qu’il se simplifie de nouvelles notes surgissent. Très difficile à décrire de part sa complexité, je trouve qu’il tourne principalement autour de la fève tonka, de l’oeillet et de la cardamome.
Unisexe, très facile à porter, très élégant, ce parfum mérite les plus grands éloges.
Composition vraiment grandiose.
Je ne lui connait aucun parfum ressemblant. J’ai essayé exprès Versilia Platinum du même nez chez Profumi Del Forte pour comparer et n’y ai senti aucune ressemblance.

My nose must be absolutely broken as all I get after the initial top notes is a delicious fudge scent, which is absolutely amazing but doesn’t point towards all those complex notes that are listed.
Either my nose is broken or ‘the’ nose , mr Arturetto Landi is pulling my nose err leg!

This is absolutely amazing. A very complex scent, magistrally crafted, addicting, totally evocating and exciting. The opening it’s actually not so suprising as the fruits note are really dominant but within a few seconds all the ingredients start to react chemically and create a supreme and very sofisticated allure that’s litterally intoxicating (in a very good way). Sometimes pungent, sometimes sweet, sometimes dry it continuely changes and evolves depending on the note that momentarely shows up. Vetiver and vanilla, incense and tonka bean, mandarine and labdanum, oppsites fighting for you pleasure. This one could be a masterpiece if it only had a longer lasting power and better sillage, but a favourite anyway.
Similar to AL2 is Versilia Platinum by Profumi Del Forte (a quite hard to find and quite expensive perfume) where Arturetto Landi reached his perfection giving the scent an incredible lasting power and a super projection…check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

i dedided to try this one as the drydown is the one I always loved and also adore cardamom.
To me this is a cardamomed version of YSL’s Elle.
It is nice, dont get me wrong. Smells like a red berry tea spiced with cardamom and rose petals, not ground-breaking though.

Ones more because, this fragrance is really worth to spend more time to talk about. Using other fragrances I never ever get so many compliments. Even on the street somebody asked me what I’m wearing, what is so unusual and beautiful. So I recommend it for everybody.

This is so amazing fragrance. So full of chic and tenderness. For sure this is fragrance for both sexes. Full of flowers a little bit sweet and milky but very very deep and fascinating. I don’t know similar fragrances, so it is difficult to compare to something commonly known. Extremely cozy and making me happy. Smell of joy and smile. I really recommend it for everybody who doesn’t like mass market perfumes but need bright full of light fragrance. The base is very long lasting and make around you sexy and joyful aura. Like a journey to the heaven.

I absolutely love this! I have fallen inlove with most of biehl’s line, and this is the first one Ive purchased. Such a luscious full rounded fruity spice with oriental vanilla. It’s perfect for any weather, its not too heavy for sumnmer and it has enough depth for winter. One of my HG scents.
