Description
In a thousand years, our lives will be highly technologized. Interaction with robots will be commonplace and, presumably, the human touch will have become scarce.
This begs the question: would humans feel lonely then?
When the number of our relationships dwindle and become a rarity or a commodity, humans will never have felt lonelier.
Science refutes the claim that eternal love exists, reasoning that love is a chemical reaction which perishes with the living organism that housed it. Love of immense fervor and blinding passion only exists in books because such unsustainable passion depletes the giver.
How then can love be explained? Humans are social creatures who seek to avoid loneliness. Therefore, two parties express their love for each other by committing their lives towards a shared future or by leaning on each other in trust and mutual reliance. For a long-term relationship, love needs to evolve and mature into a companionable love based on deep affection, connection and affinity.
If a person should live for a thousand years, one would imagine that his life would be exhausting and wearisome. However as long as love still burns inside him, he should seize the opportunity to reach out to possess the love he longs for.
We are made for love – to receive and to experience enduring love. A Thousand Years Later 一千年以后 was launched in 2014.
