“In homage to Ziryab, the perfume is composed in five stages, as the strings of his instrument. The fifth string is an audacity, a gesture of an iconoclastic perfumer: The alliance of the tulip, this watery, transparent, green note, to the rest of the composition “wood of Oud”.
Twelve centuries ago, Ziryab intrigued researchers and music lovers. He stimulated the quest of some, and the imagination of others. This musician-astronomer, the unclassifiable scholar of Baghdad, fled from the caliph’s jealousy to exile himself in the court of the Emir of Cordova. Ziryab was a genius of Andalusia, the Spain of the Golden Age. An exceptional singer, inventor of the fifth string of oud (the lute), he mastered all the instruments and created the first conservatory of music in Europe. He is also the instigator of the first vocal techniques that will give birth to Flamenco. Ziryab is a radiant being, he loves shimmering life and extreme refinement. Ziryab by Majda Bekkali Sculptures Olfactives is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women and men. This is a new fragrance. Ziryab was launched in 2017. Top note is tulip; middle notes are agarwood (oud), saffron and atlas cedar; base note is amber.

Water lily and saffronic mineral water.
I am confused between lily and tulips! Tulips is known for it’s specific certain smell which i can’t sense it clearly here. It’s a combination of water lilies and tulips with watery saffron. I can’t really detect oud in here as much as the floral.
Fresh floral cuts mostly. Nice.

Thi la reminds me of Bond no 9 New York amber. Or maybe this came first and New York amber came second. I don’t know. I like New York amber, and I like this – I don’t get tulip at all. I get rose and amber. It’s a decent Rose amber unisex scent. Probably best suited to evening wear.
