Super-underrated fragrance. Unisex-maybe leans a millimeter feminine but guys can easily pull it off- but luminous and indulgent. The Vanilla and Orchid blend perfectly.

This is truly a unique and beautiful scent. After wearing this for a few hours I think that the description is dead on. The fragrance really does evoke a time gone by, but in a subtle and very smooth way – not dated smelling at all. Each note listed has its own presence, but all are blended masterfully to create a harmonious and luxurious cashmere/vanilla/soft amber scent. I was drawn to this scent because of its description and because it was listed as having powdery accords, which is always a draw for me. However, I don’t really find this fragrance to be powdery. Instead, I would describe it as velvety and smooth, so don’t count this one out if you don’t like powdery scents. This scent is appropriate for men or women, and probably best in cool weather. I have a decant of this and a bottle of No. 26, and I have to say that I think I like this one even better than No. 26. I can’t wait to try the other scents in this line and I’m surprised it’s not more popular.

The driving force for me to buy this scent was the description found on the LCM website. More specifically, the reference to fedoras and a throw-back to days of three piece suits. Why? Well because I wear a suit and fedora to work everyday and I can tell you the match-up of fragrance and attire are bang-on here. I like a scent that has presence but is not a bully with all other scents around. A scent that provides me with its alluring aromas while treating others to a glimpse of what is possible for themselves. Cashmere Noir is a beautiful fragrance that will have something to offer to anyone and everyone. This is a perfume house worth exploring as Cecile Hua has convinced me that alchemy is alive and well and that this frangrance borders on the undefinable. Wonderful creation!

I have this and love it! The idea behind this, or vision, is called “Cashmere Noir” (the subtitle sort of, of the fragrance). It makes me think of warm cashmere blankets, amber and vanilla. Very beautiful and comforting, yet very sexy. I have this one, and #30 which is a FIFI winner. This house hasn’t gotten enough exposure yet. I encourage everyone to try them.

Beautiful warm, ambery, and slightly gourmand fragrance from Le Cherche Midi. Opens with sweetly floral orchid and intoxicating ambre creme. Tobacco leaf offers a languid sensuality, while warm vanilla and tonka bean lend an edible tonality. A richness develops over time, enveloping the wearer in sandalwood, cashmere musk, and slightly dense oak moss. Overall, a strong offering for autumnal and winter months. It feels both familiar and unique all at the same time, as well as being comforting. Inspired by “addiction”. (106)
