Description

Gucci launches a new fragrance for men called Made to Measure in fall 2013. It is meant for the “worldly and refined” man “who demands the very best.” This scent is a masculine partner to the feminine Gucci Premiere from 2012.

The composition is oriental-spicy, “tailor-made” like an expensive suit. Its initial notes are inspired by the look and feel of a handmade suit; there are accords of Calabrian bergamot, Tunisian orange blossom, French lavender and aniseed. The heart is eclectic, spicy and textured, including notes of nutmeg from Sri Lanka, water lily, juniper berries, plum and cinnamon. The base is luxurious and sophisticated, made of labdanum, patchouli, leather and amber.

“One further ingredient is required: the man. For a suit is merely a beautiful silhouette until its owner wears it. It is only then—when worn—that it becomes something more. Similarly, the perfume’s refined leather and rich spices combine with the warmth of the skin, the Made to Measure man’s character, and the style in which he wears it.”

Made to Measure is presented in an haute parfumerie quality glass bottle, weighty and statuesque… The color scheme is the distinguished slate and pearl gray of a bespoke suit and shirt button. Like every Made to Measure garment, the bottle bears the signature of house founder Guccio Gucci, here inscribed in jet enamel. Each flacon bears a hand-brushed—thus individually finished—solid metal cap, in an exclusive golden color, featuring the house’s famous horsebit sitting prominently aloft it. The box is adorned with Gucci’s Diamante pattern, which dates back to the 1930s and reflects the house’s heritage. It also boasts a muted gold and gunmetal variation of the iconic Gucci web stripe.”

The face of the perfume is actor, director and writer James Franco. Creative director of the house Frida Giannini explained: “The look of Made to Measure needed to be something extremely special and this is what we have achieved. It is as stylish and cultivated as our suited protagonist.”

The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Toilette with an accompanying collection.

What a great fragrance this is! Gucci has never disappointed me! It’s more of a late night summer and autumn kind of fragrance. Great for formal evenings and nights. It’s definitely on a sweet almost gourmand side. You can detect almost any note of it if you will be patient. But the main notes anyone can feel are flowers with some fruit nuances and spices with a dab of a leather.
It’s a great addition to a Gucci Premier line for women.
You will certainly feel some class and sophistication while wearing this fragrance. It’s not generic or synthetic in any way! All ingredients are of a very good quality.
And one more thing, it has some Los Angeles (Hollywood) vibes to it, if you know what I mean. 🙂
Longevity is about 8 hours plus. Projection is heavy in first 2-4 hours, then it becomes moderate.
I highly recommend this fragrance for those who love the quality and sophistication!
P.S. Thumbs up for Nicolas Winding Refn, James Franco and the whole advertising campaign!

This is a very lovely fragrance. Beautiful smell. It’s very strong and extremely sweet. I wish it was less sweet. The spice notes come through fine; it smells quite powdery. I like it. It’s not for every setting though; it can be cloying in the summer especially if you overspray. 8/10

I was gifted this perfume in High School. Soft, very subdued. A generic aromatic on the masculine side, wholly inoffensive and safe for most occasions/seasons. I’ve worn this to funerals. This lasts 4+ hours on my skin and clothing. I don’t dislike it, but I don’t love it.
On a bizarre note, I once dreamed, very vividly, that I heard soft sobbing coming from my closet. Upon inspection, I found my poor little Made to Measure bottle weeping quietly in it’s packaging. I feel this dream describes this fragrances character in an abstract way.

Today I took a sniff of Gucci MTM for memory’s sake (it was connected to someone I used to love passionately). It still smelt so nice just how I remembered it. While the projection is weak, MTM is wonderful as a skin scent.

This is a good safe scent, not very original but very likable and absolutely unisex. How water Lily is not occupying the first place of notes is beyond me. Probably because many people never smelled a water Lily. Plum, lavender and a very subtle note of leather round things up here. It’s primarily a floral scent. The drydown smells like a good fresh shampoo.

This is one of my faves from Gucci. Very safe versatile fragrance. This can be worn any time of year or any time of day. Signature scent worthy

I dont understand what everyone’s issue with this frag is. I ordered a bunch of vials, M2M and 212 beinf two of them, and I preferred M2M over 212. Don’t get me wrong, I loved 212 as well, but this has a bit more of a fruity smell, which I seem to like. Again, I only had vials of each, so it was hard to wear any of them, and they were just 1mL. I just bought a bottle of M2M and I still think it is great. In my opinion, it is comparable to 212 conceptually. It’s aromatic and sophisticated, with a fruity top. Luna Rossa Sport was similar, having more of a fruity top.
I smell more juniper berry than plum, which is a bit upsetting. After a few minutes it becomes more woodsy, and the cinnamon peaks out just a tad.
I will update after I have been able to marinate in it for a few days, if I feel any different.
As of now though, I think it’s great. A pretty safe blind buy. Just do not think it deserves so much hate

I have all the accessories from this cologne, and besides the negative reviews, it will remain in my top shelves, and I will keep the frame I did with “James Franco” being the face of this cologne hanging from one of the wallS in my bedroom.
This is a very subtle fragrance but very enjoyable for me, I love the shaving gel, it gives a very pleasant shaving experience and leaves the skin vey smooth and with the nice essence from the cologne.
Well, haters will be haters, but we lovers don’t care.

This fragrance does not deserve all of the negativity. It may not be the strongest scent. But the smell is very pleasant and intriguing. I bought it in spite of the negative comments because I thought the scent notes sounded interesting. I was not disappointed. The scent is not very strong, and doesn’t project very far. But the subtle wafts of the scent while wearing it are very pleasing. I enjoy the fact that I cannot smell it so intensely because this means that I enjoy the scent longer instead of going scent blind shortly after applying it.

This cologne was given to me by an ex so it’s obvious she liked it and wanted me to smell like this. I personally liked it, it’s more of a day time formal scent, not an aquatic but it’s still fresh. It’s a safe scent but I did receive compliments on it. Nothing exciting but it does not deserve all the hate. This is a refined and more polished Gucci guilty. A good office or summer Sunday church scent.
Scent: lavender and plum are the most distinguished notes during the opening along with citrus. A hint of cinnamon keeps it from being too youthful. A masculine floral scent.
Performance: I get about 3 or so hours of decent performance for a designer scent before it becomes a true skin scent. Not bad but not great either.
Season: a spring-fall scent. Can be used in the summer also.

I smell no lavender, just a dull spice which I think is ginger. On my skin it’s just a spicy drugstore aftershave. This one is a scrubber for me.

I got a good price on this fragrance so i figured i would give it a try, it can’t be that bad, but when i got it and opened it up and sprayed it on i was so disappointed, not even worth the great deal i got, i will never where this.

Made to measure… this is actually quite good, hear me out.
You will always have 2 types of reviewers; the extreme frag heads who will knock a scent because the transition to the base notes wasn’t smooth enough or the bergamot is over used… you know the type. And then you have the frag head who appreciates a good scent, especially when ladies respond to it.
I am the latter, I have a decent collection of Frags, shave soaps, aftershaves, you name it.
So Gucci MtM… I first got this as a sample from Sephora before heading off to Austria for my honeymoon. My initial impressionot was that it smelled like a mature man’s Gucci Guilty, but more refined and more “expensive.” Immediately my wife loved the scent, so that’s a win. Walking around Vienna, talking to people, this thing will get compliments.
I do have memories attached to this Frag, so I of course like it a bit more, but ladies love this scent… and in the end that’s the point!

I love the design of the bottle and the box. I think it is love at fist sight. I love the dry down which is unique for me, gives me freshness. The weakness maybe the performance which lasts only 1-2 hours.

very generic. it smells like shampoo. after an hour it was gone

  17. :

Got a free sample from Sephora as well.
Nice yet a little too generic for me. Fresh…clean…. below average longevity.
Would be a good gift for a casual person that likes fragrances but does not discriminate.

  18. :

This scent is not as good as I expect. But any way it’s still a good scent. Maybe alot of people dislike it is about sillage and longevity. For this price I think it could be better.

I can never give Gucci MTM a fair and objective review, as it has linked to some intimate memories. I remember enjoying it on my crush neck/shoulder when we sat quietly in a coffee shop, and, then, when I hugged him from behind. At that moment, MTM became the best fragrance ever in existence for me.
With all that distant memories removed, as well as the fact that my nose has got to know so many fragrances ever since, I came back to MTM to give it some less biased judgement. This is definitely a very pleasant scent, yet nothing special about it. The notes are too blended, and none can be discernibly appreciated.
I guess it’d better stay as a memory.

Loved this in the store, so Sephora gave me a sample to try. Smelled a bit too feminine for me.

  21. :

    4 out of 5

There’s a bit of a cinnamon-heart smell to this cologne that’s never quite found its way into my scent repertoire. It’s not for a 30-something man of Scandinavian descent like me…More for a 20-something Sicilian on his way to a club.
There should be a caveat to this cologne: sunglasses and top 3 buttons down, mandatory (not necessarily in a good way either).

  22. :

Despite the aggressively negative reviews, I decided to try it on today and it was a pleasant surprise. It is safe and sweet fragrance, with unusual plum note, which makes it different from other perfumes in this category. The sent lasted for about 7h on my (oily) skin, but did not project so good, even after an hour, it was sitting close to skin, so Id say the projection is not its strong suit, and that is okay. Perfumes like this one are not to be smelled by everyone, I find it very unagressive and tamed in its poshness and elegant in its character. Would not be my first choice, wouldnt mind smelling it on someone else.

This scent seems to get a lot of hate, I think it smells really nice, its perfect for a job interview or a nice night date or going somewhere that you plan on being in close quarters with people. It doesn’t really project but the smell is nice. I only bought this bottle because my GF really enjoyed the scent, and at the end of the day what she likes is what I like because I am only trying to impress her. Its a pretty scent, it can be worn with work clothes, a nice suit, I don’t think it fits a casual setting as it feels a bit to intimate for that but its a good cheap cologne. Nothing that will do amazing for you but it wont let you down, try a sample first would be my suggestion, its for some, not for all and I think people forget that sometimes.
    Overall – 7.5 out of 10
    Scent – 9 out of 10
    Projection – 6 out of 10
    Sillage – 7 out of 10
    Longevity – 8 out of 10

This fragrance has a rather spicy output, but also is notorious lavender, quite used lately in many of the Gucci men’s fragrances. What I like about this fragrance is drying her rather masculine, I think what stands out is amber notes.
It has very low projection, if you will have to notice her overcoat and longevity is also very weak, it shows skin flush. It reminds me of some other fragrance I’ve already smelled, but I do not remember. If the fragrance had the best longevity could appreciate more. Very nice bottle and very good publicity with the charismatic James Franco

Let me say that this is a normal fragrance its not groundbreaking but its comfy just to wear when you go to college or the office the smell its sweet but light if you are looking for something turn down sweet of One Million or Eros, its the only one of Gucci that I really like I just discovered that the plum also is one of my favorite notes and I can feel it well blended with the Ambar note, I was waiting to buy when the price down, and yes after 3 years I just get a 5 oz bottle for $950 mx pesos with taxes (like $50 usd) I’m glad I get the bigger bottle because it will be my summer scent to work, I use Angel edt in spring but right now with the heat I get a super scent of chocolate and it gets so suffocating; I was looking for something with good smell nice clean and with a vibe of classy but not to use the same as almost everyone in the city (Boss Bottle, Acqua di Gio, D&G) my other option was Savage by Dior, but I think Ill buy it later when I can get a better price.
The Longevity that I get is 8 hours the first 3 with a great (normal) projection and then it goes to the skin, like a bodycream with good projection.
What really surprise me is that I get compliments from ladies and girls who ask what I’m wearing i tought it gets so mainstream that it doesn’t stand out but I was wrong with that I think its good for a Dinner or Dates for reasons more personals but Ill use it like a casual scent, go to mall or the supermarket with sunglasses in this summer.
I give it a 7 and Ill enjoy my purchase.

Faceless and bland. If that’s you, here’s your scent. Kidding but seriously, I dare anyone to be able to ascertain the difference in this and the last 10 masculines available at Macy’s. Chemical, violent, woody amber, of which the world already has way too many. I couldn’t bear to be around anyone wearing this for more than 60 seconds. I’d question their sanity. Fantastic bottle though. (How could THIS be from the same firm that released and then discontinued the amazing Gucci Envy for Men?)

Gucci Made To Measure is a nice light but weak summer mens fragrance. Fresh, versatile, absolutely for hot weather, a decent scent for man and a safe choise.
The longevity is about 5-6 hours and the sillage is moderate with 5-6 sprays. After 2 hours though, it stays close to the skin.
The most distinguished notes I get are bergamont, plum, juniper berries, but I do not get so strong lavender, it is very-very weak as the rest of the notes listed above.
I like it, nothing unique but very versatile for any case in hot weather. The design of the bottle is magnificent!
I do not get the negative reviews or the nostalgy for other different Gucci scents. We are here to talk about only for “Made To Measure”. And it is quite a decent summer scent!

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews for this?
Made to measure is one of my favourites.
In my opinion it’s directed more for under 25s, like myself.
This was one of the first fragrances I purchased and I have so many memories and compliments from it which might be why I’m so attached to it.
If you like it, don’t let these people put you off it. It’s supposed to compliment you, not anyone else.

You know, I actually like this one for what it is. A Swiss Army knife fragrance that can be worn anywhere at anytime. Looks like it would bear resemblance to Gucci by Gucci but in bottle only, it actually falls more in step with the guilty line, and I am guilty of loving guilty intense and guilty black. Not creamsicle sweet like intense nor green and aromatic like black, it falls comfortably in the middle while borrowing notes from the aforementioned guilty fragrances.
Citrus, but not overly so. Sweet but not overly so, spicy, touch of leather but not overly so. You get the point. It is well rounded and can in fact be made to measure your season, wardrobe, and not be out of step, very well blended.
To me very similar to ysl l homme in the sense that when you’re unsure of what to wear, you can grab it wear it and be just fine. No they do not smell similar but the two are unbelievably versatile. I will always own this, especially when it can be had under $35 at fragrance.net. Have the proper expectations and you may really enjoy this. I absolutely love to wear this in warmer months, as it has more to offer than just citrus and ozone, calone notes with white musk. Another guilty pleasure of mine.

  34. :

At the top, I get mostly lavender, plums, and leather. It starts off as a very generic masculine smell. I would probably like it if it smelled like this the entire time and it had more reaching power. However, when this cologne dries down on me, it smells like I spilled orange juice on myself. I like the opening smell but the dry down is pretty horrible. Luckily, it doesn’t last very long and no one will really be able to smell it on you. I am glad I only bought a small sample/ travel bottle for $20.00.

  35. :

    3 out of 5

I have a slightly better opinion on this scent than most it would seem. Probably due to the fact that I got a 90ml for about 1/4 the retail price and had read a ton of negative reviews before ever trying it. So my expectations were understandably low to begin with.
I get a little of the sweet that everyone speaks of in this scent. But mostly I get this kind of a bitter/floral thing going on….very reminiscent of the same DNA in the Guilty line.
Very linear and one dimensional to my nose, but still pleasant enough and something that I could see being a crowd pleaser.
Longevity is very good on my skin, however the same cannot be said for projection. This scent is a sort of a “jack of all trades”, but master of none. Yes, it’s somewhat “generic cologne smell” and doesn’t really do anything to set itself apart as a unique composition.
But with that, also comes the ability to just grab and spray when you need a fragrance that will work in ANY situation and not offend/overpower those around you. So, that’s something that my wardrobe could use, even if this juice doesn’t really do much for me on a personal level.
Smells good, people around me like it, lasts long, cheap price….and that’s enough for me to give this one a pass.

  36. :

Smells good, but it has very weak longevity and weak sillage. I finished my 100ml bottle in less than 2 months because I had to spray it 3-4 times a day. Not for me

First and Foremost Gucci Made To Measure’s bottle is top notch, it was what initially drew me in to test this fragrance out.
The First blast of MTM was somewhat astringent and assaulting to my nose, but within a minute I got this vaguely familiar strangely deja Vu feeling, I left it on my arm and went to test other fumes to see what will become my next purchase.
As I walk passed the Diesel aisle it hits me, I grab Only The Brave and spray it on me, and lo and behold there I have the same scent on different wrists, and coming from 2 different bottles. I was a fan of Only The Brave a while ago I’ve been through 2 bottles before I got tired of it and moved on, so Gucci MTM was this blast from the not so distant past, but dressed up in a fancier, more elegant bottle, but that’s as far as it goes. MTM does have a slightly more sophisticated quality to it, almost like only the brave slipped into a suit for a black tie event, and toned himself way way down to blend in. Made to Measure is not really a bad scent, but its been done before so it can easily be called Generic and Unoriginal. Its Longevity is around 6 hours and projection is very close to skin. (I asked for a few testers of MTM, along with my purchase of A*Men to warm me up this winter, which now takes me to going through 6 bottles of A*Men), if further testing prove this can be a purchase then I just may consider getting Gucci Made To Measure, but for now I’ll give Gucci MTM a 6.5 out of 10.

very lightweight, in other words, I can smell it a bit right off, then it is mostly noticable for me only up close, and after an hour or two, not really much at all at that. It might be that I wore it in the summer in the day and it just evaporated real fast. Maybe this needs cooler weather.
It basically gives a quick blast of almost fruity citrus right off, and then turns into a light, warm thin brown leather after a minute or so, similar to the smell of the inside of a brand new pair of shoes.
I thought it was fairly decent, but it is very generic and there are probably hundreds of scents just like this.
I got a free sample of it at Macy’s or Bon.Bon.

The negative reviews I’m reading here is needlessly overwhelming. Humans are quick to engage in destructive criticism. But if I want anyone here to churn out his/her version of “Made to Measure”, it’d be a cesspit nonsensical products! I’m gonna be buying this anyway.

Two of the scents I recently dismissed are the two I´m wearing the most. This Gucci “Made to Measure” (I never really cared for this somewhat silly name) I first found kinda meh. A better one than the original meh Gucci. Maybe I´m not being so fair; they are both good scents, but in the meh way (here I went again). Anyway, I read on a magazine some person saying this Gucci was his day by day scent and Bvlgary Man Black the night one. Then I gave it another try and now I found myself apreciating wearing it during the day. What otherwise would be simply an example of lack of personality now became a sincerily linking. It’s an ok scent that I can wear without preocupation of being noted but sure that smells good and composed, and this is working better than others when I go work. After lunch I can easily reaply. Ah, the other scent is Azzaro Club Men, a simply nice touch by Azzaro. Surprisingly Polo Red Intense is working well as sweet option.

Of all the scents I have, the reviews for this one shock me the most. It’s not my signature scent or anything, but I absolutely love this fragrance. As another reviewer mentioned, I guess this one reacts rather capriciously to different skin types, and seems to suit mine perfectly.
I’ve had several compliments from both guys and girls at work. A sure fire welcome addition to my slowly but surely expanding collection.

    Ughh!
Watered down for some reason. Got it from 2 locations and they both didn’t do me any justice.
Little oily compared to other colognes. Means, it leaves an oily trail once after it dries out. overall, i was so damn disappointed with this choice.
    never gonna buy this again.

because i try to test all fragrances that come my way, i tried a bit of this tonight.
    i don’t understand the hate-on for this, i don’t think it’s awful. i also don’t think it is amazing.
it smells very early 90s to me, though, with distinct CK One overtones. i can see this being very headache-inducing for me, but i’m sure on the right (probably male) person this might smell really nice.

Definitely one of my fav after Versace Eros. Very elegant fagrance. Perfectly fits on a random date or a special occasion. The scent is very sweet and aromatic. Longevity on myself is very good- over 5-6 hours. The sillage is very very good on my skin, radiates more than arm lenght. The scent is just perfect for me. My raiting is 10/10. I have no bad words for this fragrance.

Ok…I went and got a sample from Sephora because I have been interested in the scent for over a year now. My final verdict: this is an awesome fragrance (for me at least).
Its not necessarily unique, but I can’t think of a single thing that smells just like it and in this day and age, that’s pretty successful. I realized the trick is to spray it close to the skin so that its less dispersed, and more potent at the point of attack (around my neck).
It has been 6hrs and I can easily smell it without looking for it. It’s very smooth and easy on the nose, and it’s definitely nice enough to be worn in formal occasions. I would even say “signature”. I can not speak for the sillage, but I’m assuming it isn’t that strong (though within the first 2hr, my significant other could smell it from an arms length away). This one is made to fit like a tailored suit supposedly – for close quarters.
In summation, I really like it though I acknowledge that it isn’t groundbreaking. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant, fruity oriental that is masculine and modern. Its versatile while not being too casual.

Gucci, oh Gucci! How can such a celebrated fashion house stoop this low with Made to Measure? A friend of mine gave me this as a New Year’s gift, but I am afraid this may not be a good omen! If this year turns out to be as boring as this Fragrance, I will commit suicide.
I have even come to cinsider displaying this bottle in my sitting room as a piece of art, but I am not sure it will enhance my interior design either. It looks so “nouveau riche”! One thing is for sure: Made To Measure doesn’t enhance my perfume collection.

I’m definitely picking up a high amount of negativity about this, and I don’t really know why. I get that it’s not amazing, but it’s not like it’s bad. I get the feeling that most negative reviews are because it’s just too “blah”, which I guess is why I bought it. I wanted something light, not too in your face, and decided this was a good choice for that. I’m, sadly, in an environment where fragrances, of any kind except a $3 aerosol can, aren’t the norm, so I didn’t want to overdo it. I see this as a really good fit for this situation. It smells good, and isn’t too off the wall or in your face. Really good for everyday 9-5 situations.

Bought 90ml for 40$, I don’t know guys, I really like it and it has been noticed by many of my female friends. It goes great with my skin, lasts for 7-8 hours with moderate sillage, opening is lavender with bergamot, then it goes to amber, leather, plum, anise and little bit of lavender is still noticeable. As I said, it goes like this on my skin, I guess it depends on skin, but I would buy it again 🙂

“Take Guilty and add Vodka to it until you have a Vodka that smells like this..and performance is bad as well”

Honestly, don’t understand all the hate! This was one of the first colognes that stood out to me from the others. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a ton of different kinds of scents, great ones! But I find this one just right for me in almost any occasion. It’s heavy, so it lingers for awhile! I like how it starts bright and crisp, then you get an amber, musky floral scent that eventually lingers in a woodsy tone. I seriously think this and Givenchy Gentlemen Only are my favorite scents! I get so many compliments for this, especially being a college student, definitely works well with casual and pro attire. To me, this scent is bold and sexy lol. But please, just give it a shot at a store!

No vodka vibe in this scent, it is pleasant if you like subdued scents, office friendly. A certain elegant vibe..men’ s colognes can at times be discreet, some men are self assured enough that they do not need a slap in your face cologne..
I find it traditional, stylish, nothing wrong with it…aromatic, subtly woodsy…
The man should wear the scent, not the other way around !

Reasonably nice scent to wear to the office especially if you are worried about offending anyone. Which you won’t because its performance is woeful. Not worth its price tag. The current range of Gucci scents for men is really quite pathetic.

This perfume is really surprising! To my nose it is extremely well balanced: the right combination of citrus opening, sweet flowery heart (nevertheless decisively masculine) and amber-leather base notes. I decided to try it on at the store because from the card tester I couldn’t recognize any distinctive note. I sprayed it on my neck and on one wrist and I could not refrain from bringing my arm to my nose to go for the next fix. I don’t understand how one may call it anything other that classy and sophisticated. Walking in the bubble of Gucci MTM made me feel like I was finally wearing something that suited me perfectly, I didn’t have any of those “maybe it’s a little too much” uncomfortable thoughts. As the evening progressed I received a few compliments from different girls and one insistently kept reaching for my neck saying the scent was just “mmmmmmmmmm!”. It doesn’t project much, which is something I actually look for in a fragrance. It lasts approximately 6 hours after which only the amber will remain on your skin, making you smell like the neck of a very beautiful, confident, blonde and sexually voracious high school classmate of mine called Maya. —9/10—

The definition of irony: Gucci “Made To Measure”. A name that should imply a unique personality and character, actually stands behind an astoundingly bland, forgettable and uninteresting fragrance. Gucci’s fragrance prowess is at a standstill these days.

I get plum then lavendar. Thats it. It smells great, its formal but only last 2 hours maybe 3 if your lucky. Also, theres an aquatic vibe to this scent which makes it great for warm weather. I wear it after a shower because thats all its good for

It’s a reason that the price has dropped to right around 50 bucks. The scent itself is very lame and short lived. I can only smell lavender, bergamot and faintly orange blossom. The pyramid looks great but for the most part is undetectable.I reapplied some an hour or so ago and it’s faintly there. It’s 2.69 score based on of 273 ratings and 104 reviews is too high!!

Gucci Made To Measure is sophisticated and elegant. I love the citrus notes and I can smell the anise, plumb and patchouli in the dry down. This fragrance can be worn either in the day or night. It’s great for the hot summer months. It lasts a good 6-7 hours on me.

I love it despite the negative comments on here regarding this perfume. Stays very long on my skin. Get plenty of compliments with just two sprays.

It smells exactly like Black by Keneth Cole, at least in the opening. Gucci knows better than this.

At first I thought it would be some sort of peppery/woody “synthetic” nightmare scent, but it soon settled down into something decent. However, I found myself thinking things like, “this seems like Michael for Men [Kors] but with some missing notes.” Unfortunately, I like those missing notes! It’s certainly not bad if you aren’t going to pay much attention to the scent you are wearing on a given day, but I generally like to wear scents of a different type (than ones I tend to wear frequently, such as “fresh”/sport) or “cheapos.” I won’t totally dismiss this one yet, though, because it may be good if my sensitivity becomes high again and I can’t deal with stronger/bolder scents. On the other hand, my guess is that for the designers, this soon will be considered bold and provocative!
Another wearing: it seems to be a bit too tame for me, so I think I should just move it out rather than expect it to become part of the rotation at some point.
