without doubt the most freshest scent that i know. but the sillage is very weak. i havent had a chance to try old formula though. the current formula is very weak 2 to 2 and a half hour is maximum longevity with this. some say the old formula goes up to 4 to 5 hours max. i will definitely looking for the old bottle .

Fragrance -L’Eau par Kenzo pour Homme
    Bottle from – 2017
L’Eau par Kenzo opens on my skin with a fresh, green, aquatic and slightly sour citruses with dominant yuzu laying on top of a bit exotic flowers. The best part of this fragrance is the opening.I wish it would last longer.
After about 10 minutes, mysteriously romantic lotus starts to emerge. At this point,in the middle, dominant notes are lotus and mint enchanted with some kind of aquatic magic.
The drydown is all about musk with the tender trace of green notes and flowers and the citrus notes recede into the background.
L’Eau par Kenzo is a nice, soft and subtle scent. However,if you prefer strong fragrances, this is not for you.
    Longevity – 5/10(4-5 hours)
Silage/Projection – 4/10(soft projection for the first 40 minutes, than sits closer to skin for the duration of the scent’s evolution)
    Weather – Best in summer
    Age – 18+
    Compliments – 7/10
    Scent – 7/10
Main notes according to me –
    yuzu,lemon,aquatic notes,lotus,mint.
The drydown is musky and I get some -musk,green notes and flowers.
    Emotions – fresh,pleasant,relax,peaceful moments.
Occasion -perfect for sports activities, office, scholl, college and gym.
    Try before you buy.

Really beautiful scent! That’s the most appropriate word!Unfortunatelly, like all aquatic scents,it has very poor longetivity, and that is my main, and very serious complaint.

One of the most refreshing scents Ive experienced. Perfect for hot summer days, like taking an ice cold lemon cocktail on the tree-shaded banks of a lake, with your feet in the water and the warm sun breaking through the branches in the breeze.

tfw u get to the seaside and enter the sea for the first time after so long… that unique smell and feel of freshness of life itself. remarcable scent. but gone after half and hour without a trace.
longevity in citruses is really a bummer but this one is the worst one i’ve had yet, not even an hour on my skin is such a shame.
somewhat synthetic feel to it also, but nothing seriously bothering.
always gladly go back to it.

It is transparent, clean and fresh – like cool breeze on a sunny day. I did not try any reformulations if there ones.. In my experience- it is also an absolute winner in its category for longevity! It proves that light and ozonating colognes can be long lasting!
Green pepper note is kind of interesting surprise for me here. Don’t know any other cologne with this note.. maybe that’s what makes it really unique.
I will get it soon again.. I miss it.

Kenzo made a big revolution with this one and in my opinion – well deserved revolution. This scent (and also the female L’Eau) is totally different from all of the other summer fragrances. It’s citrusy in first few seconds but the dry-down gets a bit spicy. Fresh and masculine piece of art with noticeable musk. But can be used as unisex though – and I know many women use this one that way.
Simply – give me tons of various scents and being blind I would always recognize this fragrance between them.
    To me solid 8/10.

When Nose Takes you to Places
Imagine that it’s the last days of winter, you go on the top of a mountain and up there, a river is flowing. You sit on a rock beside the river, the river’s cold halo caresses you and the smell of green texture several feet away from the river is in the air and you open up the best sprite that exists in the market, This is exactly L’Eau par Kenzo.
Projection is arm’s length for 30 minutes and Longevity is two hours( 12 heavy sprays), it’s really lacking in longevity and projection departments, but I like it anyway

Doesn’t smell bad, but not anything ground breaking. Reminds me of a lemon dish soap. Yeah……not the best out there.

Very lemony fresh opening and the musky drydown is one of the best in this class.
But longevity is very poor even less than one hour.

One of the few perfect summer fragrances.
It starts very citrusy, very zesty. Less than 3 minutes & the aquatic lotus starts to appear, giving it a sporty, fresh, & slightly floral dimension. It feels as you’ve just stepped out of showering with a sporty citrus soap. It’s such an amazing fresh & clean feeling!
Later on, it slowly transforms to become very similar to Clinique Happy; fresh sweet citrus.
Overall, this is one of the best happy, fresh summer fragrances. I’d recommend it to anyone living in a place where the temperature is above 35C.
RIYL: Clinique Happy Men, Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Sport, Bvlgari Aqua Marine & Aqva Amara, Chanel Allure Blanche Edition,…etc.

Bought this last week and it came today. Opened it up at the right time as I had a few errands to run and was going to spray cologne on myself anywho. On initial spray, The Yuzu, Lemon, and Lotus are very prevalent, I was not expecting a cologne so citrusy, floral and powdery, this is definitely a unisex scent. This scent totally fits in with Kenzo’s perfume scents that are very floral. This is a first.
I do like the scent, it smells fresh , clean, with a big blast of citrus, and it is well done. There is a fine line with this one if you do wear it to the bar or club, you may have the same sex hitting on you. All in all I’d rate it accordingly.
    Scent:9
    Longevity:5
    Sillage: 3
    Unique/Industry First:8

This one is a bit more versatile than I first thought. I really liked this scent at first, now I realize it truly is a great scent. It actually has more depth after a couple times of wearing it, and now I’ve caught all the different nuances and ingredients. It’s been great so far for intimate nights and alone time with my girl. .
Just make sure you get the authentic version, Real kenzo is gonna set you back at least $50, not $10-$15 like you’re seeing on ebay. I’ve worn this 3 times, and it really is a phenomenal scent. I bought the updated version, which is sold here in the US and Europe, it’s still the authentic version. I have not smelled the original version which is east Asian and has Japanese writing on the box. .

Amazing clean fresh vibrant scent explosion,I would compare this to a Mix of Citronella and aquatic clean linen I’ve had one lady older ask if someone sprayed bug poison but she just didn’t like aquatics period. Citronella is not in it but that’s how the lemon comes through I’ve had literally 100s of compliments when wearing this that’s why this is a permanent part of my collection when finished I always restock it’s great to shower at night spray this on after and jump into bed plus it’s best to wear everywhere out,I love this because you always wanna sniff yourself under your shirt and your lover wants to smell you closer too. This goes on strong then fades down about an hour but can easily be refreshed by extra sprays or by just working up after sweat you can tell that it never went away in the first place. The L’eau Par Kenzo translates to WATER by KENZO……IT Definitely lives up to its name …..if you have any trouble finding it look online on EBAY for Shop called Fragrancenet or go to Fragrancenet.com for not only this cologne but every scent they have tester bottles for less than half the retail cost on most everything

This is simply a very clean scent – soft citrus and clean musk.
I’ve never been a fan of lemon fragrances, but L’eau Par Kenzo is more the scent of lemon juice or lemonade and not the lemon zest, so it’s not as bright and sharp. This soft lemon is well supported by the watery notes and a clean laundry musk. In fact, the scent of L’eau Par Kenzo reminds me of the smell of spray starch (a scent that I really like).
The sillage may not be great, but I can smell it on myself for anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. I wear it when I just want to smell clean and not particularly wanting to stand out.

Great work scent. Just got a compliment a few minutes ago from someones whos desk i was leaning over. Citrusy, airy, and clean are the words that describe it. Can’t see anyone hating or being offended by it. Super safe. Gets close to the skin relatively quickly.

The clouds grow sinister in their mysterious burden – thier rolling is accented by the yellows and greens of some furious beast held within. With a rumble and a roar, the cloud cover snaps open to reveal an impossible machine – it’s some unfathomable ship that slivers through the sky in a flurry of mind-numbing colors. Many try to look up at its sleek visage but turn away as it blinds any who try. Moments after the craft disappears, a gentle rain descends on those below – it radiates the citric warmth of yuzu and limes, it rushes like a cool river on the surface of your skin, and elates like hearing the whispers of a long-awaited lover. The thick, alien rain departs as abruptly as it arrived – you are left in a dazed euphoric state. The clouds roll out and the sun tingles on your skin – you catch wafts of an ocean breeze and sparkling woods. You go about your day and remember nothing of this odd incident – little do you know that your skin glows with alien luminescence…what a beautiful sight!
Day 82 – In the Grip
    Listening to: Radiohead – Bodysnatchers
Notes: This was my first “summer” cologne and I love it as much now as when I first got it – it really is a luminescent wood of sorts. The opening is flush with juicy citrus (the lemon lime of yuzu is quite delicious!) and a cold, rushing water. I don’t know if it’s a thing, but the difference in air temperature right above natural running water has a smell which is quite closely captured in this scent! All of the flash and dazzle is over fairly quickly (an hour at best) as the scent morphs into a fizzy and sparkling wood. The fizz and wood phase lasts a good 4 or 5 hours before quieting to a sort of citric musk and woodscent. The notes can be revived with heat some 8 or more hours in, so this is like a fizzy second skin after the projection dies down. Noting its age, this is definitely one of the better citric summer colognes and it is completely unisex as it is more of an experience than a formal scent.

L’Eau par is a very fresh, citrusy, versatile summer scent for man. You can wear it day and night, every day if you wish.
It opens with an explosion of citrus, yuzu, bittersweet and fresh at the same time.
The longevity and the sillage are bellow the average (1-2 maximun longevity and sillage so close to my skin, whoever want to smell it, must hug you), the only disadvantage of this summer juice. Don’t mind to overspray because a little will remain on you after some time.
The most distinguished notes I get are yuzu, lemon, water notes and lotus. I like it very much but for longevity and sillage reason I wont buy it again. Its a pity to make a summer masterpiece and give it poor performance.
And now the L’Eau par from 2000
Very sour and fresh scent. Longevity about 3 hours, sillage was moderate with smart package full of grey sand.

4 words: Happiness inside a bottle.
It’s zesty, fresh, fun but surely not flat or linear. There is an ice cream soda pop kind of body to it. The sillage and longevity are both on the weak side. However, I don’t mind overspraying for this one. I mean, the name and concept is “Water for Kenzo.” I can’t imagine it being a strong-sillage fragrance with that name. It stays pretty much close to the skin and I think I like it that way.
This was my first fragrance when I was 16. I find myself always having one bottle in my fragrance collection. On my third bottle now and still use it. It is my go-to scent when I don’t know what to wear, kinda like that favorite t-shirt you always find yourself wear day after day. I have seen this marketed as unisex in Asia. It is a great scent, and should be appreciated by everyone.
tl;dr: first-time fragrance buyers, get this one!!! fresh n’ zesty, ice cream soda, stays close to skin. smells great on girls too.

One of my favorite fresh fragrances. The lemon and yuzu notes are just about as perfect as I can imagine. They stay crisp and tangy without morphing into that unsettling sourness that so many other citrus scents seem to do (e.g. Allure Homme Sport Cologne, D&G Light Blue). The drydown is a simple musk that does stay close to the skin, but I don’t mind reapplying. That said, sillage and longevity are fairly decent If you like shower-fresh aromatics, they don’t get much better than this. Don’t hesitate for a minute if you’re considering a blind buy!

This may be directed at men, but I love this – sometimes after I shower and blow dry my hair, I spray some through my hair. It puts me in the best mood. To me, it’s not ultra masculine, sharp or anything I consider ‘masculine’ specific. It’s a unisex for me and very very nice.

This was my first fragrance! the first i chose to buy for myself at around age 15:) was around 2001, and for some reason this was the scent i loved the most from what the sales person handed me at the counter. Back then it came in the classic bottle with a tiny dark blue cap.
It projected a far-east zen quality about it, it made me travel in my mind even back then.
It’s an aquatic with a far east twist from the yuzu, lotus and the bell pepper. It’s fairly unisex and not your typical summer citrus, more complex.
The current version is more simple though.
    scent: 7+/10
    longevity: 4/10
    sillage: 4/10

Fresh, astringent yuzu balanced with lotus, water and succulent fresh cut green pepper on the top that quickly disintegrates into a watery musk with a touch of green and leftover lotus that sits very softly on your skin. A real game changer in the world of aquatic fragrances for men when it initially hit the shelves. Why? Organic subtlety was not en vogue in the 1990’s in the world of aquatics when this one came along. This release paved the way for subsequent followers in the 21st century by making designers aware of a viable marketplace of consumers for more organic creations of subtlety that had predominantly existed on the niche market before.
The fragrance itself has a timeless air to it, partly due to its design and partly due to its very soft nature; it suggests an almost blank canvas where only the softness of the lotus, citrus, green and light musk have left their mark and it is up to the wearer to complete the ‘obra’ for themselves.
L’eau par Kenzo is very soft on moderate to dry skin, which makes performance a major issue for a majority of wearers. If you get 6-8 hours from this, consider yourself very lucky, it’s a fantastic scent for any occasion in spring, summer and early fall and far less common than most of the big 90’s aquatic offerings still on the market today. Most wearers should expect between 2-4 hours longevity and moderate sillage the first ten minutes, slipping quickly to a soft skin scent that radiates just a couple of inches above the skin.
If you are an individual who finds sophistication in subtlety, this is absolutely a fragrance you need to investigate further. Kenzo have stuck rather strongly to their lotus trademark over the years, so those already familiar with later releases will be surprised how less prominent the lotus is in the overall blending of the composition itself. Yes, it is certainly center-stage, but its dominance is masked by the green peppers, green leaves and water notes. The yuzu fades within 15-20 minutes.
Overall this is a very nice cologne for the kind of wearer who doesn’t like to wear cologne often and prefers something more natural and in step with the natural accords of the body. This one is extremely versatile and you will never be accused of being imposing at work wearing this. Safe, thoughtful, organic, well-balanced and gentle. Not the kind of fragrance that will please those looking for big projection and performance, this is more of a mood piece for intimate moments or for making rather subtle impressions.

I used Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Nil for long long time and I was looking for another perfume for male with fresh, natural, “soft” smell. Finally I found it. I got the version of 2006 so the package was different.
It would be one of the best perfume for male. It is so clean and fresh. It can last for more than 6 hours!

this is the very TOP of all men fragrances. It is very unique, clean, fresh scent with interesting undertone. it dries down to wooden and herbal tones- soooo masculine, works on me little bit like aphrodisiac whenever my partner use it 🙂
in the first so watery, juicy, then in 1-2 hours more wooden and herbal but in any way spicy or sweet. I can smell it all my life and never be bored of this fragrance 🙂 i love both sides of it – the fresh one catches your attention and the wooden makes you totally fall in love with the mysterious, sexy, modern men…
I forgot to mean the bottle is amazing, like a piece of ice , complements the perfume so well

Delicious, fresh, unique. This smells like nothing else on the market. Green with a particularly strong green pepper scent. Quiet, but so are many other great perfumes. Imo it is completely unisex.
To address a common complaint – this is in no way a generic replica of Acqua di Gio. L’Eau par Kenzo explores the green side of aromatic aquatics. AdG stays firmly on the white floral side of the family.

Yuzu cliché ! That’s how I would summarize this fragrance. A shower gel scent just to expand the “out of the shower” feeling, as said below, for when you take a bath before going to sleep for example. Longevity is good on me, but poor projection. It’s obviously not a bad scent, it’s just a functionnal fragrance, no more no less. Meh. Dislike.

  40. :

    3 out of 5

On my skin, this starts off with bitter, powdery yuzu and dries down rapidly to powdery and aquatic (NOT marine) accords. The aquatic scent, to me, is like standing in a room where someone is taking a cool shower with really high water pressure. Definitely not a calone blaster like the original KPH.
Sillage is almost nonexistent on me. If I give my wrist two big sprays, I need to put my nose right up against the skin to notice anything. Longevity is about two hours. This is something I only really use to make my “shower fresh” feeling last a bit longer–nobody has ever noticed me wearing it.

  41. :

    3 out of 5

After wearing it several times this summer I can describe it in this way:
    1-Very fresh
    2-As light as air
    3-Pleasant
    4-Unobtrusive
It start with burst of Lemon, Yuzu, water notes and a little of floral notes. The opening note is very interesting but it goes away after 15 to 30 minutes. In the middle, floral notes will become stronger but lemon and yuzu are still there. ]n the middle you will get some water notes, green and fresh notes (specially the fresh scent of green pepper) and also some kind of vague minty scent. In the background there are some woodsy notes too. The scent doesn’t change a lot to the end of dry down.
This fragrance is more sweet than sour and very refreshing. For me it’s in the category of fresh an a little sweet summer scent like Issey miyake l’eau d’issey. If you check the notes there are similarities between these two in the top notes but the scents are totally different.
The only problem that I have with this one which stops me from buying it is projection and longevity. The projection is low and close to skin and longevity is a little tricky (sometimes it stays on your skin for several hours and sometimes it fades away completely after 3 hours).

A fresh and clean summer scent, with aquatic and citrus notes, and just a little bit of sweetness. Unchallenging, but nice. More relaxed than athletic. My current choice for very hot summer days.
The citrus is a little harsh at first, but that’s over in only a couple of minutes, and it settles down to something gentle and pleasant.
I’d compare it to cK One and Acqua Di Giò. I’d chose it over either of those, simply because it’s slightly less common.
    Unfortunately, weak longevity and sillage.
    Love the (current) bottle design.

Lovely smelling EDT! I really liked this one. Resembles Issey Miyake Sport, but more sourish and fresh. Very refreshing, moderately bitter and sweet. I had used this cologne a few years ago until it was finished. I would like to wear this fragrnace again!

Was given as a gift by my gf as she really love the scent. Scentwise, I do love the aquatic yuzu citrus opening. However, of all the fragrance I have, this is one of the worst in terms of longevity. The beautiful opening last at best 5-10min on my skin before all there is left is a musky (slightly woody) drydown which last a further 15-30min. Tried to overcome the poor longevity by spraying on clothes but not much luck there.
In short – Beautiful scent but super poor longevity. Not sure how to judge sillage and projection as the scent does not last on me at all.
Hence, as much as I want to love this and use it during summer time, I find myself reaching for my Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme which is similar in vibe (although not scent).

Huge citrus-aromatic blast off the top that emits an interesting soapy fresh yet rather aromatic and green duft that comes off very airy, unisex and soft yet appealing at the same time. If you sniff closely you can pick up the green bell pepper, it’s there and it takes the bite off the high-pitched yuzu and just tones it down enough so that the lotus can take a more prominent role in the overall structure.
This was a very unusual creation in 1999 and initiated a movement towards more minimalist aquatic creations that would catch more mainstream favor in the mid 2000’s. Certainly Nautica Voyage pays homage to L’Eau Par Kenzo in its structure and concept and even if you aren’t one for aquatics in general, this one is worth getting your nose under, as it’s historic impact was rather large on the industry and became a reference point for the next ten years on how to build an aquatic without recycling the Acqua Di Gio formula. As important a landmark as this was, it still has a rather synthetic soul to it in the water and green notes that create a bit of abrasiveness on my skin after the first 30 minutes when pushing against the yuzu and lotus, this stuff is better left for the younger crowd, as I think a more mature man would prefer something a bit more organic and masculine. Women can easily pull this scent off if they want to wear this. For me a decent clean and fresh scent with an interesting combination of floral, green, citrus and musk but a bit too soft after the first couple of hours when the dry-down kicks in and this turns to a minty musk with a little bit of citrus and lotus residue. Starts to fade from the skin after four hours and by the fifth is generally gone. Projection is fantastic the first 30m to 1h before going soft very quickly. Can be found at rather affordable prices online, but given its weak performance and projection on most people, don’t ever pay more than half MSRP on this.

So…Tried this the otherday as I always jump at the chance to try Kenzo fragrances because they’re so scarce in UK these days. I only found this one in a clearance store with older and discontinued perfumes.
So L’Eau par is alright you know…A bright citrus which is aquatic and watery without any overly synthetic marine accords or salty notes. I Like this, hint of lotus and a base of white musk it’s delicate and thoroughly pleasant.

Fantastic soapy scent, the yuzu and lemon with the lotus and a hint of green pepper does wonders for those looking for something refreshing and less synthetic than many of your solid bargain buy Natuica releases. That top is perfect for sport and summer days, unfortunately it is real hit and miss depending on your skin chemistry in regards to performance. I know people who get 8-10 hours with this consistently. I consider them very lucky. As much as I love this scent, I struggle to get even 3 hours of longevity in the heat and though projection is great the first 30 minutes, this quickly becomes a skin scent and is very hard to pick up after two hours. The watery, soft musky woods dry down keeps this one very light and uplifting but also hinders its strength and staying power. Try before you buy this one, doesn’t perform well for a lot of us here.

Yes this is a really nice perfume with some exceptional notes and that is really fitting well on hot summer days. The opening is very fresh-citric zummi. It starts somewhat creamy-soapy-powdery. It reminds me a bit of Acqua di Parma Mitro di Panera. There is some green-floral peppery soap like scent in it. In the middle it opens up to a nice floral-minty note reminding you of lotus and mint. The lotus and the zummi give a citric-floral scent which attributes in combination with the mint note to a very nice freshness. In the end the sweet white musk with a aromatic ceder mixes with the aquatic scent.
This perfume is good for casual use but it is a bit more sophisticated than for instance an other great casual: aqua de Gio. It is not common yet casual. It has some class but it is still one of the better aquatics on the top of the casual perfumes. But then, it isn’t a typical aquatic. In all ways it is a bit mysterious. It is like walking in a garden with a pond that is provided with a waterfall and that is full of lotus surrounded with citric trees.
It has an moderate longevity. It is in some way a special refreshing perfume something special for spring and summer.
This a real good perfume for every day use on warm moist days.

Very nice scent from kenzo. Not too strong very refreshing and clean. Reminds of that cleaning product from pledge or lemon cleaner. But is a nice scent. Very good on hot cool summer that refreshes you. Average longevity and ok silage. I get alot of that yuzu and citrus combining with a touch of green pepper to spice it up a little. A great spring and summer fragrance. Also great teens and up. A fun nice scent for everybody. You can spray more than 3 or 4. Its very safe to use and not overpowering

very pleaseing scent that wouldn’t bother nobody. very comforting indeed.
nice yuzu smell but I don’t find it sexy. However, this can be used for a car air freshener.
    I’ll give it 7.5/10

I liked this one so much, that while already having a bottle in a closet, I bought two more, gave one to a friend to share the excitement.
The opening is crisp and clean, very fresh, even better than Aqua Di Gio; at least that is what I thought then. So far, so good. There was one bad aspect, longevity. It starts to evaporate off your skin before the vapors even reach their destination. One hour or two
