Description

Two new limited edition summer fragrances for 2013 from Issey Miyake, L’Eau d’Issey and L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme, are bringing exotic fruity scents. The creator of these new flankers is Alberto Morillas.

L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Pour l’Ete 2013, a masculine scent of fruits and spices, combines juicy and sour flavors of kiwi, grapefruit and coriander at the beginning of the composition. Pineapple and manly aromas of nutmeg are followed by the base of intensely fragrant cypress and vetiver.

The perfume bottles retain the original shapes of the line. The feminine one is decorated with a stylized motif of guava, and the masculine one features kiwi. Available as 100 ml Eau de Toilette (for women) and 125 ml Eau de Toilette (for men).

I am not a big fan of citrus-aromatic fragrances, but I do really enjoy my bottle of Summer 2013 when the weather gets hot. To me Summer 2013 is similar to their Summer 2016 offering, with subtle differences, but I love love ’em both.
This fragrance lasts 4-5 hours and stays pretty close to skin after the first 30-minutes, which is fine for this kind of scent. Overall, I love how both Summer 2013 and 2016 smell on my skin on a hot Summer’s day; it’s an excellent scent. Given a choice, I slightly prefer Summer 2013…just a solid aromatic-citrus with juicy-fruits.

It’s fantastic and the wife loves it. Only downside is that THIS is the fragrance that made me aware of non-long lasting scents. At first I thought I bought a knock-off. No, it’s just it’s
    composition.

Same as 2016 summer “limited” edition with a Kiwi on the bottle.

This is great fragrance ! Perfect for summer. I wear it when being on beach, just having a drink and relaxing. Smell is really great. Fresh, and relaxing, but problem is, that longevity is very poor. The same for projection. I have to apply like 7-10 sprays, and it will last only 1-2 hrs. When too hot, it is even less. And people can catch the scent only when they are very close to you. That makes it good fragrance, when you want to make your GF comfortable during beach walks or so. Other than that I would not wear it.

While it is pleasant enough, it doesn’t project much at all. I often question why people wear fragrances. To smell good, right? A somewhat attractive woman was walking in front of me, then I smelled her terrible B.O., which was an instant turn-off. Smell definitely affects our perceptions of others. We wear fragrances so that we think we smell good and so that other people will remember us in a positive light. So why, exactly, would you settle for a fragrance that no one, not even yourself, will notice after a short period of time? All buying this bottle did was make me miss the original L’eau D’isssey I had a while ago. That stuff projected very, very well. This 2013 flanker starts off with a lovely dash of harsh alcohol (proof of its low oil content), then just becomes L’eau D’issey Lite. It is much frutier, which I like, and the florals are toned down to a relieving degree. However, it just DOES NOT PROJECT. It lasts for hours, but that’s no good when it is only inches from your skin. I like this cologne. Honest. But I can see no justification in putting it on to make impressions when, in truth, none will be made from it.
    Scent: 8/10
    Projection: 2/10
    Sillage: 1/10
    Value: 4/10

I actually find this perfume works better in 0 C, rather than 30 C. “off-season” so to say. The Kiwi, citrus and pineapple notes don’t fight eachother but rather work together. It’s also more mellow in the cold. The bottle is beautiful

Personally I like ISSEY MIYAKE perfumes. This one is like WATER!!!. You wont get any smell after 15minutes. Unfare unfare!!!

I have to say this one is impressive, I find most IM fragrances smell the same, this one being no exception, that’s no bad thing. With this one I get a slightly more peppery citric drydown, this lasts amazingly well, seven hours after liberal spraying it it’s still there, far from smelling synthetic to me it smells classy, 8.5)10?!

Recently bought this blindly and I have to say it is certainly one of the best blinds I’ve ever purchased. It has this juicy lime accord not present in the notes but that my nose and others who smell it pick up. It might just be the blend of the citrus and kiwi causing it, but boy does it smell amazing. Easily going to be my new signature citrus summer fragrance instead of the array of others I own. I agree with the reviewer below, this one I definitely enjoy over the original (hiding right beside you behind that chair haha). Girls who’ve smelt in on me have loved it more than I can fathom. It lasts FOREVER on clothes…I was stunned. At least 8 hours on skin which is still good. Great projection. Not as strong as the original. I’d rather catch whiffs of this over the original though any day.

    Honestly…
I prefer this over the original *hides behind chair*
But seriously, I LOVE the KiWi in it. That’s the reason why, just Longevity and sillage sucks. :/
But hey, I didn’t pay for it 😀
Lady at Dillards gave it to me for FREE!!!!

Holy…while writing this I am actually testing Gentlemen Only, but get disturbed by a familiar citrus scent from my wrist…in fact it is L’eau D’Issey 2013 – but the last time I applied it was ~48 hours and two showers ago. The citrus (I’d actually say it’s yuzu instead grapefruit) lives on – of Of course very close to the skin but waaay more persistent than I expected.
Excited to see what this fragrance does when the hot, humid days set in.

Where Where Where i still can buy it now?! I received the paper which sales spray this scent on it and I just fell in love. I couldn’t stop smelling that paper for 2 days until the scent gone and when i came back to the store, it sold out (1st shocking scene). I found it again on StrawberryNet and i wait for credit card cut-off date next 2 days (haha! real life), yup it gone again (2nd shocking scene). Now i can’t find it anymore. Saddd story.
For the scent, i always feeling neutral to all ISSEY but this one is different. The scent is still ISSEY way but there’s something behind; light & sparkling notes, that attract me very much. Frankly speak, i don’t know whether it’s Kiwi coz i don’t think to Kiwi when i smell it but I just would like my man to wear it sooooooo much.
    ——–update——
I can find it now!! thanks for all kind notes from many users!!

I don’t enjoy the original Issey Miyake but the newer Sport version and this 2013 Summer edition are really nice. Great for compliments. I’m glad I bought two bottles of Summer 2013!

only tried this one once so for what its worth to me this is similar to the original but it does not have that top harsh yusu note instead its replaced by a aquatic fruit smell. Its a intense smell to me, so much so that I feel like I am swimming in it. Anyways the rest is about the same. It last a long time and it is refreshing for what it is but if you don’t like IM then I would skip blind buying this.

This is my second review of this one the longevity is excellent on this fragrance 11+ hours with 5 sprays I wore this today for the second time it was 96 degrees with high humidity here in Chicago it lasted from the time I left the house for work up until i got home its still on my under shirt this is excellent for a summer fragrance most only last for a couple hours and it smells great once again if you like the original or the sport then you most likely will enjoy the summer edition it’s my first time trying the summer I always thought buying the summer edition was a waste of money cause most of them smell similar to the original with a slight twist just lighter I’m glad I decided to try it this yeari it was worth it and its a big bottle so it will last me 2 or 3 years I’m only going to wear it in the summer I give it a 9/10

Take the original Issey pour homme, replace the pungent, sour yuzu and citrus with quiet, semi-sweet fruit notes, tone down the nutmeg, drop the remaining spices save a touch of coriander and forget the florals and herbs. And you have Issey Pour Homme summer edition 2013. Pleasant yet fleeting fruit notes and a well-modified slightly woody, spicy base reminiscent of the original make this a worthwhile flanker. Sillage, longevity and projection are perfect for summer. Issey made a great call dropping the spices in this version. Deep down, I wish they kept some refreshing sour yuzu, all the florals, some herbs then added in stronger fruit notes. My wishes aside, it’s a must try for Issey lovers seeking a sweeter, smoother, less spicy summer scent in the Issey family.

Just like the original this is great it smells just like the original with just a slight twist lasts a good while too if you like the original or the sport you’ll like this one too it’s just a lighter version if the original perfect for the summer it won’t choke out people

The original is strong, sometimes too strong. This is great if, like me, you love the scent of the original, but sometimes can’t stomach the full force of it. The fruit notes balance it out well and it dries down to something that resembles the original, but is easier to live with. Reminds me of CK one summer 2013. They both have this tropical fruit citrus thing going on with their dry down, but this is a tad less sweet. I think between the two I’ve found some very good all-around summer signatures.

Whether you go with this one or the original (L’Eau de Issey) you won’t be disappointed….because they both smell almost exactly the same.
Nice fragrance! Just not all too different from the original.

When I tried it on my skin I couldn’t tell the difference between this one and the last year’s summer edition. The only thing came to my mind was that this one is more rounded and is slightly sour. Opens with a blast of fruity-citrus accords and dries down to a modernized version of the original.
Here I see people could detect the notes with awesome precision and believe it is loaded with Kiwi and Pineapple while the last summer one had Mandarin Orange and Yuzu. Good for you guys! Awesome noses you have!
Longevity and projection are a little better than the previous one and obviously far below the original.

Very fresh and clean. Just like the original tone down with fruit notes. It screams summer. What a fragrance Issey Miyake did an excellent job. Its also available at Dillards. You can go to the store and sample you eill not be disappointed and for the price $69 125ml. My only regret was I should have gotten a back up bottle.

I blind purchased a bottle of Summer 2013 (via Nordstroms Website) and i have to say, Issey Miyake did a great job with this one. Imagine the original Issey Pour Homme, with it’s sharpness (Harshness to some) replaced with sweet fruity notes. That’s what Summer Pour Homme 2013 is all about. A more tamed sweet Issey Pour Homme. When you apply Summer 2013, the opening is similar to the original Pour Homme, but with a kiwi note. The Kiwi Note is very prominent throughout the life of this fragrance. Issey Miyake did a great job crafting this kiwi note. I was afraid it was going to be a synthetic mess, but it’s very well done. As the scent starts to mature, the pineapple and vetiver notes start to shine. The pineapple note brings sweetness to the fragrance, while the vetiver brings a suttle sourness. I think it’s a perfect mix. The Kiwi and pineapple notes added into the original Issey Pour Homme DNA gives this cologne it’s summer vibe. I don’t get a tropical vibe from Summer 2013 however. In terms of Longevity, I’m getting around 6hrs. The sillage is not as potent as the Original Pour Homme, but is still good. Overall, I’m very pleased with this cologne. This will be in heavy rotation this upcoming Summer. I really like the implementation of the kiwi note. I also really like the fact that you get a 125 ml for just $69.
