This Terre is a Bvlgari Aqva Atlantiqve that made it. Citrus fruits, aquatic notes and cedar the absolute protagonists. The rest feels little or nothing. Nothing to do with water, summer, freshness but … The exact opposite: It ‘a citrusy fragrance but very hot. In the summer it turns into something really powerful so if you wear it, do not worry: You will be noticed but it is not known whether negatively or positively (depending on the tastes). It’s not bad but not even something astonishing. Let’s say that it has the potential of ancient, classic colonies (also in terms of persistence). It reminds me so much of the Calabrian orange groves where sometimes, I spend a few Sundays alone, contemplating the weather, the sky, the earth.

One of my favorite citrus scents of all time. This one opens with oranges, almost like orange juice. The best orange scent that I have smelt and I love it. As it dries down I get the classic, Terre D’Hermes. The dry down smells so much better and easier on the nose than the original which gives me a slight headache.
Longevity wise on my skin I get 8 hours easy. It does project for about 3 hours on my skin so I consider myself fortunate.
I have gotten compliments out the ass on this one, mainly from women and typically a high pitched “oh my you smell good”.
Versatility – I am not a big fan of seasonal stuff. In a world where we go from climate controlled environment to another I prefer freshness that lasts. This does that. 10/10 – you can wear a performance shirt with this or a suit. Uber versatile.
Age – I would say high 20s and up. Couldn’t see college wearing this (at least not me).
I really love this, the bottle is really awesome. Easy top 3

This one opens with a fulsome burst of citrus. We’re not talking a dull, pedestrian splash of bergamote which swiftly becomes redundant as other notes take over.
This is a gorgeously bright citrus which dominates the fragrance top-to-bottom. Of course there’s the trademark orange of the original Terre, but it’s nestled in amongst other citruses that aren’t individually identified in the note listing and not easily identifiable to my nose. If I had to guess, I’d say there’s a nice dose of lemon and grapefruit in the mix.
These are not citruses based in the flowers or leaves of the tree, nor in the rind of the fruit. There’s no soapiness or sharp bitterness present here. It’s a pure, unadulterated and very juicy citrus similar to what one would expect from freshly squeezed pulp.
The ruggedness of the original has not been entirely lost either. But instead of dense, unyielding vetiver, Eau Tres Fraiche is propped up by cedar and other raw, mineralic woods. The woodsy notes remain suitably restrained, but yield an additional vitality which wonderfully complements those crisp citruses.
Watery notes are also listed, but they aren’t of the cheap, chemical-aquatic variety. I can’t actually pick out the watery notes myself (I mean, what does water smell like, exactly?) however they seem to amplify the ultra clean feel of the citruses.
Overall, what you get is a very transparent and natural smelling citrus-dominant scent with forest floor nuances, that grows steadily more transparent as it develops. It’s vibrant, fresh and very easy to wear. It’s also incredibly likeable, to the point that it’s hard to imagine anyone hating it.
To be clear, however, this isn’t simply a cheaper, watered-down version of Terre. Eau Tres Fraiche is its own fragrance, and although it possesses a lightness that is not found in the OG, none of the quality is lacking.

Good enough to be a signature for warm weather time or the office year round. It is a complete scent that is dynamic, well composed and utilizes great oils for a designer level fragrance. Highly recommended to all, especially niche heads that have lost faith in designer.

I got this from Sephora a couple of years back after smelling it on a paper strip. I thought this would be the perfect summer frag. However, I have some concerns. I may be in the minority with this impression but after applying it a few minutes in, the orange citrusy notes get pushed away by a cumin note that smells very much like peppery BO on me. Thankfully, it doesn’t last and it dries down into a normal TdH ETF. I’ll just have to time it so that when that cumin note kicks in, I’m not near anyone who’d think I didn’t shower that morning!

This is truly a magnificent fragrance. I’ve been alternating use of TdH edt and this one. And I’m just blown away by the hyperrealism of the flint and citrus in this one. It’s so fresh and invigorating that for me… it’s just more inspiring and fun than it’s older brother. To the point where after some experimentation I’m just drawn to this one more. I need to get a new bottle soon. It’s just fantastic.

This stuff is excellent! Not your typical citrus-dominated frag.
It immediately starts out smelling like a legitimately peeled, juicy orange backed by an earthy undertone. The earthy undertone reminds me of the bittery-waxiness of the orange peel.
The initial blast is mouth watering.
15 min in, the grapefruit starts appearing. Nothing much has changed, In fact, this gets even more bight, happy and cheery. The earthiness is still slightly there to give it another dimension.
The citruses remains with the woody-earthy undertones. This is pure citrus quality. Not your everyday citrus frag. The wood backs it up in a way to make this stuff a masculine masterpiece.
A great, quality, superb citrus-woody fragrance.

One of the freshest most uplifting scents I have encountered so far. I love the fresh bright orange opening which creates an instant feeling of refreshment. The wood notes and patchouli give the scent an earthy vibe which contrasts very well with the freshness of the orange.
This makes a perfect Summer scent for any occasion and will get noticed. I would say its a safer buy than the original TDH. Probably my most worn scent this Summer which has received many compliments for its freshness and cleanness. Scent performs well with 4 sprays and will give modest projection throughout its duration.
If your a fan of the original TDH or orange/citrus scents then this is a definite must try…

A classic. A so fresh so clean and dirty scent, for the man that wants to be fresh on some days. I get grapefruit, water, and woods. It will get noticed, compliments etc. Either the original or this one gets the job done depending on what season your in or the occasion.

There is a crisp citrus in this fragrance that is hard to come by. There is an unmistakably masculine harsh vibe to this, but it maintains an aura of sophistication classy and expensive taste. It smells like a juicy lemon-lime-orange blast. There is nothing that says I’m a fun young man in this fragrance. It means business and it definitely has gotten me good compliments. This fragrance is for when it’s extremely hot out and you are dressed sharp. I wouldn’t go heavy on the trigger because that is just my style, I think it can come off pretty piercing if you overspray. I can feel it escaping my bubble with 3 sprays and even though it is generally mass appealing it is also very unique. It’s a must have and it makes my top 5 list.

this is a great fragrance to have in Florida. the original felt too heavy for me when winter lasts for 3 weeks to a month at most down here. it’s a great choice if you are in warm weather and not want to wear an aquatic.

Very fresh take on original Terre. Starts with a blast of beautiful and high quality citruses. There is no cheapness nor synthetic vibe in the opening, which is usually a thing with many other citrus fragrances. Fresh citruses stay present whole life, but in 30 mins base of the original Terre starts to be dominant.
I really love this fragrance. It is perfect for summer, especially in those super hot summer days.
    Love, love, love.

Quite nice citrus up top with some of the TdH hallmark notes coming through on the dry down. Feels like a watery TdH EDT. Unfortunately, it performs like one, too, on my skin. While it’s pleasant enough, and certainly easy to wear in the hot months, it’s also as fleeting as it is pleasurable.
I get well below average performance (1-2 hours) on my skin with it becoming a skin scent within an hour. By hour 3 it’s all but gone.
A 6.0/10 for me. It smells quite nice, and is refreshing, but its quite nice opening belies its ghost-like experience.

  16. :

    4 out of 5

The citrus is actually good. A little cleanser, pine-sol vibe but really projects and is pleasant. Although the creaminess in the dry-down comes across… elderly. It’s definitely for the mature man. 60 and up honestly.

@ILikePeeps I have a 2014 bottle and the scent vanishes after 40 minutes off of my skin. Nobody can smell it on me after one hour and I also do 7 sprays of this.
So you better move in your office building and live there if you want compliments because if you put the fragrance on, commute for more than half an hour, nobody will smell it on you when you arrive to work.
Maybe it’s just skin chemistry but this surely doesn’t last more than 5 hours on my clothes.
Having said that: the scent is gorgeous and it is a summer staple for when I want to be fresh, even for one hour whilst I go walk the dogs.

It’s blowing my mind how people are saying this is strong or has great longevity/projection/whatever. This has terrible performance on me.
I’m not sure if this is largely humidity dependent. I live in TX where the humidity is really high, so that could be surpressing it a lot, I don’t know.
I had a 4.2oz bottle before and sold it. Decided to get it again and received a 6.7oz 2015 batch. Bottle is freaking amazing! Hefty too.
To give some perspective, I put on like 7 sprays (a lot..) and went to work. Later on during the workday I asked in the office if anyone noticed it – nope. Today I put some on my inner elbow, and it seems to become a skin scent in around ~1 hour or so. Got my gf to smell it like ~2.5-4 hours after applying and she said she couldn’t even smell it, when smelling RIGHT where I applied. I can still smell it, but faintly. Crazy.
Is this a frag that grows stronger with getting air in the bottle, or was there some ‘bad’ batches or something? I’m not sure how people are getting like 6/7+ hours with noticeable projection.
As for the smell, yes, I enjoy it. I’m not usually a freshie type of guy, but this is pretty good. Aquatic-y citrus with a light TdH DNA? 🙂

I’ve yet to test this on my skin but I can already say this is a quality scent, just as the edt. The opening for me is almost identical as the edt but the pungent striking orange that is in the edt’s opening leans mildly to a sweetish mandarine for the first moments. Other than that it is basically the same scent but a lighter, more “watery” version of it, with not such of an aggressive character and not such of a strong base. This is the friendly brother, the edt is the darker bad ass don’t mess with me type. This one has a cool smile on it’s face and the edt is looking at you dominating and intimidating. I consider the edt to be wearable all year around but this one is far more appropiate for that and certainly more for the warmer months. Performance is as expected, very good for this type of fragrance, even better than some orientals or gourmand. This being said I prefer the edt overall but I need more testing.

Recently I deemed Terre d’hermes Eau Tres Fraiche a top summer “dumb reach”, I think it’s actually more complex and can play even a more sophisticated role in your fragrance rotation.
Hermes scored big on the release of terre d’hermes edt, an iconic manly composition; then went even deeper with the pure parfum; and now we have the eau tres fraiche, a 2014 spring and summer King. This was love at first sniff while the rest took a couple of sniffs to be truly understood. Citruses, oranges, geranium, woody notes, cedar, patchouli, and added water notes here produced a fresher version of the original. I still smell a hint of vetiver which is a major player in the original. This is a confirmed master piece imho. Easier to wear in the heat and delivers consistently. Excellent longevity, 6 to 7 hours with acceptable mild projection. This stuff is darn gorgeous. Wear anything from tuxedo to your pajamas and will still be appropriate. Prices are good so do yourself a favor, grab the largest bottle you can find, you’ll be happy you did!

I’m a lover of the original and this one lacks its strong character, that for someone is too much and for me is just perfect.
The only issue with the original for me is that I never dress up so that’s a bit in contrast with my usual outfits, but I love wearing it anyway and don’t want to care.
This one is good for people who like the DNA of the original but found it too strong and piercing. This is a definitely lighter and brighter version but the vibe of the scent is very similar and it keeps the characteristic scent of TdH. It doesn’t smell like just another citrus cologne, it smells like the more summery, dress down brother of TdH, and still a bit classy.
However, I love the original too much to choose to wear this, and the performance is way superior in the original.
As a fresh summery casual citrus I’d rather wear John Varvatos Artisan Pure, which is more casual and young than this, more juicy, amazing and unique. Check that out if you haven’t, I just wish it performed better, but it seems to perform even better than TdH Eau Trais Fraiche.

The nicest citrus cleaning product I’ve ever worn.
Jokes aside, I really like it. I have not tested the original, but this is a very natural scent on me. Citrus and geranium upfront, perfect for warm weather.
Today I’m working in my garden and wearing Eau Très Fraiche, and it’s not out of step. I never expect to get more than 3 hours from a citrus forward scent, and the wood base notes take it past that mark. I can still smell the geranium accord in the drydown. This is full bottle worthy. And if you’re wondering, I think it’s perfectly unisex.

  26. :

    5 out of 5

The Citrus in this is annoying and sharp and comes across as a cleaning product/ air freshener . I guarantee if I told someone that I used an air freshener rather than this they wouldn’t have the slightest clue. It has no overall depth either. How this gets so much love and Eau Sauvage cologne doesn’t is beyond me but what can ya do. This resembles Avqua Amara but that’s got so much more oomph and is just a lot more interesting for me and a lot cheaper! Dior Homme Cologne always gets put up against this for summer and the Dior is on another level entirely in my opinion.

  27. :

    3 out of 5

to much dirty and earthy geranium for my taste.
Drydown smells like plastic flowers / ciggaret butts.
Initial blast is amazing, one of the best citrus opening but you do not buy frags for initial opening that disapears after 10 min.

  28. :

    5 out of 5

I like this scent. Very close to the original with a touch of freshness. One problem: performance is bad. 2-3 hours and it is a skin scent. I dont care what others say. No performance here so not worth the price tag. Do not lose your money.

  29. :

    5 out of 5

Just another freshy with little character. Nice woody, citrusy, clean (not soapy) and airy composition with a touch of aquatic notes. Ideal for summer. Easy to wear. Above average performance. Decent value. However, can quickly become boring so best in a rotation rather than a signature or regular wear. I prefer the original it’s much more interesting and more versatile for all seasons and occasions.

  30. :

    4 out of 5

I much prefer this one to the original because the bitterness is removed. Although the original was a beautiful scent, the bitter orange always gave me a headache within minutes. This fresh version is perfect with freshly peeled orange scent and vetiver among other woods.

  31. :

    3 out of 5

One of my most negative reviews on here is on TDH. I tried TDH more than 10 times but never got anything except wood furniture polish from it. A member here sent me a link to this Tres Fraiche version and have to say it gives me exactly what I wanted from TDH. With this Tres Fraiche version I get the citrus, lots of orange and the airy, sophisticated scent I expected from TDH. The best part is you can find this at very good prices. I bought a 4.2 ounce for $78. It lasts at least 6 hours with 2 sprays. Even nicer to wear in the area I live in, mountainous, very extreme temperatures. I wore it yesterday, it was 91 degrees with a 90% humidity and it made this scent even better and fresher.

  32. :

This opens with an extremely natural smelling aroma of to my nose grapefruit and cardamom. The grapefruit and cardamom are both extremely accurate. In fact the grapefruit in this is probably more accurate than Atelier Cologne’s Pomelo Paradis while the cardamom is more true to life than YSL’s Le Nuit de L’Homme. I understand the fruit in reality in this is bigarade rather than grapefruit, but it smells like grapefruit to me and I’ve never smelled or tried bigarade in reality. There is also a hint of orange. The whole opening reminds me of citrus tea with cardamom. This is definitely more fresh than regular Terre d’Hermes. On drydown, it basically persists in this fashion – grapefruit and cardamom, but the grapefruit gets progressively fainter. It has hints of vetiver and pepper but they are really muted compared to the original, and mostly replaced with a sort of watery accord. On drydown it somewhat is reminiscent of original Terre d’Hermes EDT though. Longevity and sillage are both moderate but more on the airy/soft side. Overall this is a very nice fragrance but in my opinion does not beat the original Terre d’Hermes.
    3.5/5

  33. :

    3 out of 5

Terre d’Hermès Eau Très Fraîche opens with aldehyde notes associated with the bitterness of bigarade. The heart is mineral and spicy. In the background, the woods are accompanied by oak moss. My favorite perfumer for fresh scents: Jean-Claude Ellena. The iconic Terre d’Hermès reinvents itself through a ‘Very Fresh’ version. This variation is intended to be lighter and more energetic than the original perfume. For the occasion, the signature bottle has lengthened and refined and the spray cap becomes white. A fresh fragrance that is truly perfect for summer. Thumbs up for this freshie gem!

I love it! just not comfortable with flower note in it but it is a great fragrance and great performance among Summer fragrances. kind of similar to Cartier Declaration L’Eau to me but I prefer this one.

  35. :

    4 out of 5

Been looking for something fresh but not aquatic, light but long lasting and this seems to fit the bill. The opening is as most say, peeled oranges. The background is a weird (I can only describe it as) burning plastic smell to it. Not in a bad way but that’s what it smells like to me. I do really like it though and that instant like doesn’t happen very often. Tom Ford GV hit me like that and this is the first one since. Can’t wait for the hot weather to kick back in to try it in its’ natural habitat. Big thumbs up from me.
EDIT – had this three months now and the disappointment grew with each passing day. Too fleeting. Spray it on and you’ll feel a million dollars but by the time you reach the office you’ll be a pauper again. Won’t buy again.

Like most below me, I too, adore this composition. Holy moly. Is TDH the loveliest, most natural smelling, grounding designer fragrance of the last 15 years? No. I’d say the last 50 years. I really don’t think I’ve enjoyed anything so thoroughly (and frequently). With a collection of over 100 perfumes, I reach for some form of Terre d’Hermes almost daily. It’s become my signature scent.
The Eau Tres Fraiche spin off is glorious. Fresh, airy, aquatic, Earthy, tangy, and dirty. It reminds me of playing in the backyard in the summer as a kid. Eating an orange ice pop and pulling a worm out of the soil. Under the beating sun and blue sky. As the sprinkler goes wild, shooting water toward the heavens.

    Sentence(s) Summary:
This is class in a glass. I really, really like the original, but I LOVE this. If the original is the smell of warm marmalade in the desert, this is the smell of a cold glass of orange juice in the desert. Brighter, fresher and cleaner, but still with the familiar dry down we all know and love, if a little lighter. The opening has a natural fresh orange and grapefruit spritz which I enjoy far better than the originals ‘dirty orange’.
Doesn’t last quite as long, but for Spring and Summer (and dare I say Autumn) this is just perfect.
    Great-ing rating 10/10

  39. :

I am a big fan of Terre de Hermes, I think it’s the best designer fragrance from the past 15 years.
I have rediscovered how nice this light version is.
I have a 6 ounce bottle, but didn’t like it for a couple years.
I thought it was nothing compared to the original, and too woody to be used as a fresh cologne type of frag.
So for me it didn’t quite fit into any genre.
But now it fits for me as a great sophisticated fresh fragrance, that can be very casual. I like wearing it to bed, just to have that nice fresh orange smell, with a floral geranium, and some crisp woods.
I used to use fragrances like 4711, Guerlain Imperial, or Mugler cologne, for a short lived refresher. Now I prefer Terre Fresh. It’s a fruity fresh, yet it’s a fragrance with some substance.
Terre Fresh has a great fruity orange, like in Orange Sanguine, or Hermes Orange Vert cologne, but this lasts and has great sillage, the geranium gives it a floral sophistication.
This is a great fresh frag for Spring and Summer, when you want something very fruity, but not just another citrusy fresh or aquatic.
Many say it’s close to a $400. Frederic Malle fragrance.
    Rating: 8/10

Tere D’Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche is a blast of citruses and earthiness. I can still smell the base of Terre d’Hermes throughout this fragrance. At first spray it is a blast of citruses, which is uplifting. The dry down is geranium with patchouli. It is the perfect scent for hot summer days.

Opening smells JUST like freshly peeled oranges. 100%.
I prefer the original TDH. It has a lot more depth and woodier, fits for most seasons except the summer.

So ask yourself, do you want a fresher or darker version.

Freshly peeled oranges, that’s what you get once spraying it and has the bitterness of the original one removed. Then geranium softens it and a bit of woody feel due to cedar to make it feel soapy and clean. Really one of the best quality orange fragrances ever ! It can be worn both formal and casual. Longevity and projection are strong and can shine in spring/summer season !

One of the fragrances that sparked my obsession with scents, thanks to a friend. Blind bought via a friend and it’s been the best investments in fragrance I have come across. The sweet notes are sensual, seductive, sexy, and yummy. I always start the day with a smile on my face when I spray this on. For me, it’s a day, night, date and before you sleep scent. It’s fresh but when the base notes spring up (40mins later) you’re left satisfied.

Wonderful fragrance and bought the big bottle.
For me this is a improved version of the original. For me the original had the dirty or rotten orange in the beginning and the earthiness was a bit dirty. This fragrance has fresh and zesty orange in the opening and projects better overall for me. It is lighter overall and slightly more aromatic.
For me this is a perfect fall day fragrance and is a Terre de Hermes that could be worn outside the fall or winter days.
I get 5-7 hours, but the muskiness sticks with you for a while longer.
    Highly Recommended

The reason I say that is because this smells so good when it’s cold and humid outide. Therefore, the best seasons to wear this, despite the votes, are spring and early fall.
This fragrance is as conservative as Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, just a little more casual.

The original TDH was the scent that ignited my interest in perfumery. With that in mind, I was both eager and cautious to try the Eau Très Fraîche. While I don’t love it as much as the original, it’s a great fresh and light interpretation for a sunny summer day. If you think of the EdP/EdT concentrations as a shirt, then this is the short-sleeved, linen version.

Terre d’Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche Review
This one opens up with a strong orange peel note. If you love the smell of oranges, this one will grab you right of the bat. The fragrance then softens up with some geranium. You’re finally led to a nice woody/cedar dry down. The fragrance is very linear. What you see is what you get. If you don’t like the notes, I would definitely skip this one! Fortunately for me, this is right up my alley.
This is much easier to wear than the original. I do prefer this one even though it is less complex and challenging. It’s classy, refined, and incredibly easy to like.
I use two sprays with this one. Both on the neck. The opening is quite strong but then it softens up after 30 minutes. Performance is solid on my skin.

Overhyped cologne for sure! Bought it because of Robes08 and other positive reviews in Youtube. In the drydown smells like Dunhill Icon and Bulgari Aqua Amara. Don’t like it! And the price is too high.

I like the original a little better only because this reminds me so much of Bvlgari Aqva Amara.

Smells very clean and bright. Hermes is Hermes so it’s a quality scent. But I honestly think that Terre D’Hermes (EDT) is much better. If your have TDH, then I’d think that this might not be needed.
Longevity is poor on me-pretty much a skin scen after 2-3 hours max, unlike the TDH which is much better.

Wear this during a cool, humid day. Wow. Just wow.

Love the smell of this, zesty orange peel and very natural. Unfortunately the longevity lets it down a bit…

The original Terre D’Hermes is one of my all-time favorites so I had to try Tres Fraiche. I’m afraid that I don’t like this one.
It opens with an assortment of citruses – seems like orange, lemon and grapefruit. The citruses are harsh for me. I don’t mind the scent once the citruses die down but they stick around for a long time. Other fragrances like Caron Pour Un Homme Sport and Dior Homme Cologne have more natural citrus notes to me. Something about the citrus here bothers me.
The base of this smells like the base of Guerlain Homme Boisee.
Lasts about 5, 6 hours on me and projects pretty well.

Another great summer scent. I prefer this one so much more to the original which is a bit to earthy for me. The initial blast yields a juicy citrus and the dry down adds some depth and softness yet the citrus remains there. Likely wouldn’t reach for this one in winter months, but where I live that’s not very long. If you live somewhere that gives you lots of hot days I’d highly recommend this one.

Tres Fraiche is very invigorating and uplifting.
But unfortunately for me, the citrus became a little bit sickly…too much!!
Especially if I sprayed it on my clothes, then that sickly citrus would linger forever…

This a very classy fragrance, complement getter, vey masculine and can be timeless, and yes is a lighter version of the original Terre de Hermes, is worth it every penny.
