Totally agree with review below mine, this is gorgeous and so much better than the original, the review below says everything that I think of Shine…. Just tested it in store today and has been added to my Christmas list 😉

Girl of Now Shine seems to be what Girl of Now tried to be but failed. This flanker smells almost the same as the original, but it seems to fix all the original’s mistakes.
Girl of Now Shine thus remains a strong gourmand initially dominated by almond, but this opening has a bit calmer, nuttier quality. The development is where Shine beats the original – while the original continues to assault you with that god damn almond, Shine gives way to white florals, which add a layer of elegance and freshness to this perfume.
Maybe I’d purchase it, but it’s not really my first choice.

Just got this today. Had to blind buy it because I really haven’t been able to find it in department stores in the U.S. if someone knows of a U.S. department store that’s carrying G.O.N. I would love to know. Anyway to me the first impression and difference in this from the first GON is the iris. I love iris. I grow irises. I crave iris perfumes. This doesn’t smell like la Vie Est Belle eclat but I can detect a similar iris note in both of them and I love it! I will add more as I wear this and test it out a bit.
Edit: I’ve been wearing this all day. It goes through several stages. There is a middle stage where the vanilla becomes very prominent. I like it at that point. It’s about 2 hours in for me.
Then There is a stage where I swear I can smell Benzaldehyde!!!! Benzaldehyde has an almond like smell. You would know if you have smelled it because it is in many industrial liquid hand soaps. Usually the pink liquid soap in public restrooms here in the United States. I wish the almond scent were more like Armani code cashmere. That smells more natural to me. I’m kind of sad about this whole Benzaldehyde thing.
The good news is that is only one stage, after a few hours more it smells like a vanilla musk where the vanilla comes forward again but more dilute and there is a musky smell with it.
I don’t know if this is worth the 82 US dollars I paid. I really think there should be serious consideration given to the way the almond fragrance is constructed in this EDP.
Overall, I’m quite saddened by this development.

It’s better than the original, which was way too strong and sweet.
This is similar enough, but I can stand it much better. The most dominant notes are almond and vanilla. I can’t sense any pineapple, pistacio or floral notes.
It is a Christmas scent or a very cold winter’ scent. Okay, but nothing ground-breaking.

How sweet can you go? This little number pushes the boundaries in the category ‘sweet’.
Not bad but not for me. A monster in longevity.

I apologise in advance for this fairly negative review. I contemplated not writing one at all, but I realised my opinions should be shared in an upfront and honest way as I have always done.
Girl Of Now Shine was a bitter disappointment. I shouldn’t have felt so let-down, however, as I didn’t particularly enjoy the original Girl Of Now either.
Girl Of Now Shine is quite a strong fragrance on my skin. The top notes were the most unpleasant aspect for me. The bitter almond and sour pineapple accords were extremely overwhelming and did not blend well with my chemistry whatsoever.
Last year I went on a cleanse diet for three weeks. The cleanse consisted of two shakes a day, (one for breakfast and one for dinner), and a solid meal for lunch, devoid of dairy, red meat, gluten or preservatives. My go-to shake was a blend of almond milk, frozen pineapple chunks, frozen mango and chia seeds. Girl Of Now Shine reminds me of this shake. There was once a time that enjoyed it, but now it sends a shiver down my spine.
The unrelenting presence of Girl Of Now Shine is both a burden and a positive. For me personally, it was hell trying to scrub it from my wrists, however, for those that actually enjoy this fragrance, the sillage and longevity is fantastic.
As I had trouble getting rid of this fragrance on my skin, I decided to persevere for the sake of writing this review, and surprisingly Girl of Now Shine improved dramatically towards the drydown. The vanilla, patchouli and white floral accords softened the sharp pineapple note considerably, making it much easier for me to stomach.
The last few hours of wear were tolerable, however, I wouldn’t dare try this fragrance on the skin again as I don’t think I could survive round two of the top and heart notes.

We have a cake here where I live which we call savarină – syrupy sponge cake with whipped cream. This fragrance smells just like that! I prefer this flanker to the original because it’s less bitter on my skin, the almond note is less prominent. Longevity and sillage are really good! I’m not sure I’d use it during summers though. I find it to be more of a spring scent, actually fit for any sunny day, but not combined with heat.

It’s like diluted Girl of Now, far more floral, lighter, lots of orange blossom and jasmine plus iris. I like it, but the cozy creaminess of the original Girl of Now is gone.

I ran out of my regular perfume (Kelly Caleche) and armed with a gift certificate to a nice shop tried to find something new and different to inspire me. I sprayed four things on pulse points and then walked in the hot sunshine to see how they developed. I wound up buying Chanel 19 EDT, even though it smelled truly awful when first sprayed–it smelled the best and the most magical after it developed. I don’t know what got into me, but I also chose Elie Saab’s ‘Girl of Now Shine’, which now that I have it, smells like a cake made for a teenage girl. I regret this purchase. Will try to gift it to my daughter, but I think that even at the young age of 28 this fragrance is way too young and silly for her.

Gorgeous fragrance! I suspected i would like it even more than i liked the original Girl of Now and i was right! This one is more fun! It is younger, louder, and sweeter. Elegant and radiant, Girl of Now Shine is the kind of perfume i like.
If you’re tired of the gourmand mania dominating the shelves, do not even get close to this scent. It is not for you. If you, on the other side, are an unapologetic gourmand fan, you may really enjoy this one. It is not your candy sweet or vanilla heavy gourmand, this scent is very almondy, what i actually like, because it helps to set it a bit apart from the crowd. Not that it is really unique, it is not, but it is in a gourmand category that hadn‘t been so exhaustively explored until now.
I recommend it to young, sensual ladies who like to enjoy life in a healthy and natural way.
    Final note: 7/10

I’ve tested it a few times now, and the main difference to my nose is that in the Shine version the white floral aspect is more pronounced, particularly in the dry down. It makes Shine a tad fresher and greener, but it still remains overwhelmingly sweet. My personal speculation is that the idea behind Shine was to introduce a more summer appropriate fragrance, and it might be for some, but to me it is still way too sweet to be worn in summer. That being said, I enjoy this new version more than the original one.
