After two excellent perfume collection by Officina delle Essenze created and launched by talented perfumer Maurizio Lembo, at the end of 2013 brand new line of perfumes was introduced – Bottega Profumiera which encompasses 6 fragrances. In my conversation with Maurizio I found out that he worked for a long time on this collection, even at the time of launch of previous collections, because he wanted to single it out in particular way and to make sure that all compositions will convey ideas and feelings he has been cherishing for years.
The aim was to create fragrances that convey particular feelings, thoughts, images and parts from his life and embody them perfectly in the new compositions in which we can feel the unique signature of the creator.
Known for a collection of room fragrances and extraordinary collections which are available as pure perfume Puro (collection of 5 fragrances) and I Caldi (collection of 3 fragrances dedicated to wood) Maurizio offers new emotions poured into truly top quality perfumes. The new collection by Bottega Profumiera provides compositions for everyone’s taste. They are delicate, emotional and special. Names of the fragrances of the new collection are as follows: Shardana, Rose Poudre, Galantuomo, Mon Jardin, Polianthes and Gourmand and Maurizio’s story of each fragrance separately awakes the wish to test them and explore the compositions.
I will start with wonderful edition for men named Galantuomo! Inspired by true gentlemen, Maurizio dedicated this fragrance to his father and grandfather, following them in their way of life and way of communicating with others…

Luigi Pirandello
This phrase by Luigi Pirandello, Italian playwright and novelist, who won the Nobel Prize in 1934, says in a perfect way, in Maurizio’s opinion, true meaning of gentleman of today. In this phrase, says Maurizio, the concept shows the true power, simplicity and natural elegance as qualities that should be the sign of a true gentleman. I tried to translate this message into my perfume and I dedicate it to my father and grandfather, my gentlemen forever. Thank you. – Says Maurizio!
The fragrance is soft, sweet and spicy, very comfortable and so powerful and with strong character at the same time. It contains notes of tangerine, anise, nutmeg, ginger, olibanum, licorice, clove, cinnamon, sage (salvia scarlea), vetiver, vanilla and oak moss.

I’m from an age when men were considered sexy if they wore Canoe or Brut. Brave and bold, and in your face. I always preferred Eau Sauvage by Dior, and that’s what all by boyfriends wore (because I said so). Now here comes Galantuomo. My new favorite. Subtle and gentlemanly. I expect to be wooed; I expect to have my hand kissed; car doors, restaurant doors held open for me. I cannot resist. It replaces Eau Sauvage in my husband’s Christmas stocking.

A nicely done woody-oriental with spicy undertones. A transparent opening of anise, sweetish licorice and nutty stuff that turns into a spicy-woody-resiny base with moderately sweet facets. Nothing earthshaking or exactly new (especially if you’re familiar with Rochas Man, Body Kouros, Yohji Homme or Lolita Lempicka) yet, somehow, decent.
