Description

Press Release: David Yurman Limited Edition embodies the embrace of precious, rarified ingredients. Natural Agar Wood (Oud Wood), the most prized woody note in the Middle East, works in synergy with exquisite Rose Taif, a hybrid of Bulgarian Rose and Turkish Rose.

The decadent accord is surprisingly juxtaposed with top notes of crisp coriander, geranium, saffron and raspberry. At its heart, violet and night-blooming jasmine mingle, adding a daring extravagance of scent. For the grand finale: the irresistible appeal of warm suede, creamy vanilla, enticing musk and earthy sandalwood.

Reflecting its exotic nature, the fragrance arrives in a faceted crystal bottle of plush crimson red, embellished with a sculpted gold cap inspired by David Yurman’s iconic cable design. David Yurman Limited Edition was launched in 2011.

First of all…this is a great fragrance. I cannot get the relation to TF Tuscan Leather…???…And, the “oud” is light fore sure…and it is “rosy” but not due to “rose”…I think it is more the peony/geranium-ish/wood vibe providing that. The other notes provide a balance to the sweeter/fruity notes.Nice blend !
I also find in the drydown phase it reminds me somehow of the new Avon Velvet…???…but the Yurman projects and lasts better for sure…and is richer. So, Velvet is NOT a clone/dupe….just the similar “type”..”family” of. I think DY Limited Edition is a great buy for the quality and the beautiful scent.Smooth and classic.

G’day all this is not a review I’m trying to decide if I really need this fragrance and from all I read I think I do .. I have spent eons perusing the reviews and they are swinging in the affirmative
I did read In one of the reviews this frag might resemble my all time to die for almost finished FB of Armani Prive Rose d’Arabie .. and with current prices to replace that wonderful bottle of joy I would need to take a 3rd mortgage,.. so can anyone out there confirm the rumour that this limited edition just might be a dupe ?. Please please say yes

Great scent at any price, but unlike most others of such quality, Limited Edition sometimes shows up for really low prices. Don’t be fooled. This is indeed a high quality long lasting and complex scent. Rose and leather are the top two notes that never die away.
Sometimes the leather can be a bit much. I offer that with the caveat that leather smells a lot like meat to my nose, so too much can get a bit nauseating. In small amounts this is lovely and rich. Don’t overspray or wear this in hot weather; it’s like a wool sweater, great only on the coldest days. Big love because I respect the quality and composition, though it’s not a match for my personality because when I wear a BIG scent like this I tend to prefer spicy notes. Who knows? It could make a leather convert out of me.

Rose Oud – the note that I smell the most –
This is a much deeper, rich fragrance – compared to the upper register David Yurman and the flankers in that collection. I don’t really see much of a similarity with the other fragrances. This is in a league of its own.
I read reviews for a couple of years before risking to blind purchase this one.
I’m glad I did – because this is a very refined rose oud fragrance with almost a smokey chord to it. This reminds me of Narcisso Rodriges for Her… because this is one of the fragrances that really introverts on the skin. It absorbs – and draws you into the notes on the skin – rather than lifting off the skin and shouting. The longer you wear this, the more alluring it becomes.
The first blast of this is VERY STRONG — so don’t get turned off at that point and wash it off. It gradually settles into the skin and melds with your chemistry – in about 30 minutes to an hour.
This is one that seems to be better on a colder day — and would be much better on more of a mature person, than someone really young.
Rose Oud is something that I had never smelled until a few years ago. Once you smell this note, it is unique… a lot of fragrances lines are doing their own variation of this.
I like this version of rose oud. I tried it side by side another – and this one had a much more refined and elegant quality to it, compared to the other that I tried.
If you are not into more mysterious, smokey, introverted fragrances – this may be one to test and sample first – before buying. I was very lucky that I like it. It is very good – but I’ll wear this in the winter or on cold rainy days. It wraps you in warmth like a nice flannel or cozy soft blanket. I love that!

@ThePharaoh Nonsense! This fragrance lasts and lasts, too much I would say. I spray it in the morning, at night I can still smell it in my clothes, it can get nauseating.

Excellent fragrance. Beautiful rose oud combo with leather. I love it. The problem is it does not last as long. The opening was actually beautiful but within 2 hours it was a skin scent. I was surprised becauae people posted excellent longevity. The dry down after 2 hours is totally a skin scent. It is beautiful though. Just do not expect it to be loud and projecting except for 1-2 hours.

  9. :

Strong at first, like so many of the 80’s fragrances that whap you over the head and drag you back to the cave.
This dries down into an alluring, sweet, beckoningly mysterious rose oud aroma that lures and whispers. This is one that you will want to spray on a couple of hours before you are in the car or elevator with someone. Too much of a good thing can turn into a bad thing, so buyer beware.
However – the dry down is totally worth the first strong spray
    ——
I was expecting this to resonate with the other David Yurman flankers — but this is totally unique and not even in the same family with the other David Yurman fragrances. This stands on its own. A true Rose Oud independent.
If you love Rose Oud – then this will definitely BE YOUR THING.
For those that are not into this, you may want to try this – but only in a small dose. See what this does on your skin. If this blends with your individual chemistry and you can wear it – you’ll know in the first three hours.
    ——–
I love Rose Oud – but have learned that it is better on cold or cooler days. This rides too heavy on my skin for spring and summer, but is delightful on crisp mornings when you want to wrap yourself in a heavier mysterious scent.

After reading/watching some reviews, I took a gamble. First, I must say the bottle is exquisite. It’s hefty and I dare say looks better than some niche presentations. I bought this mainly for the raspberry/leather vibe, to have something akin to Tuscan Leather. However, off the top this is Rose heavy. This is super feminine at the top. However, after twenty minutes or so this turns into such a smooth fragrance. The raspberry peeks it head, and the suede bellows. This is a fascinating concoction. For the price, it’s a no brainer. Furthermore, it performs and performs well.
Edit: I felt disingenuous keeping my review up. I have gifted this fragrance away. It was too much of the first part that I did not enjoy.

This is lovely. Harsh at first, but sweet, warm, powdery and moderately long-lasting. I noticed that the harshness went away much faster on wet skin. Very soft and enveloping for an oud fragrance. Great value if you can find the discount tester.

I blind bought this and at first I was on the fence with it, but ultimately this is an interesting quality fragrance. First off I own Tuscan Leather, Noir de Noir and Valentina Oud. Maybe adding this to my collection is unnecessary but at $30 for a large tester, I felt it worth the risk. Does Yurman Limited Edition smell similar to those? Yes and no. Yes in that this is very oudy and leathery with a rose and fruity backbone. My initial issue with this is the first impact is really strong and harsh, as it opens with a chemical sweetness that’s almost like hairspray. The oud has a slight petroleum feel that reminded me a little of Gucci Guilty Absolute. I admit I was worried at first sniff. I sprayed the hand of my female friend telling her this was unisex and she grimaced. She did not like it at all and told me she would never wear this. Undaunted I sprayed my chest, neck and both arms for a full test run and I’m happy to report all my issues with Yurman LE disappeared as it dried down. It softens and becomes more leathery the longer it’s on the skin. The best part is the dry down when this becomes a powdery, dry, soft suede that is really quite beautiful and totally unisex. Is this worth $30? Yes, without a doubt. While this not as immediately likeable as say Tom Ford Tuscan Leather, with a little patience one will be rewarded.

The oud in this is delicate and natural, along with the musky suede notes and a soft sweet powdery rose.
It all blends together so well
I gave it to my boyfriend because he loved the smell. He says all his friends and family complimented him on it. My mum smelt it on him and demanded a bottle for herself too.
It is an amazing and unique scent, hoping it doesn’t get discontinued.

Noir de Noir meets Tuscan Leather and viola! There’s a lot of talk whether a man could pull this fragrance off. I am and I will. This is exquisite. I’m getting a few more of these bad boys while the getting is good! I’m going to need surgery to have my nose excavated from my wrist after this!

Just opened my box from Fragrancenet and this is the first bottle of 3 I tried. All I smell is a wood fire, smoke, not unpleasant but I expected more. This is a very masculine scent that reminds me of candles for men in smoke scent… It is very warm (better in winter) As a women, I would love for the man in my life to wear this. It is cozy and somewhat addicting. I have only had it on for less than 10 minutes and will try it again and come back here should it morph into more than smoke.

rose first and foremost then leather then a hint hint of the marketable oud; very nice and inexpensive, reminds of Club de Nuit Intense and a less sweet Calligraphy Rose

This is NOT a Tuscan Leather clone… I don’t know where that trend even came from! I ordered a sample because I wasn’t sure, is it Noir de Noir or Tuscan Leather?! The answer is: it’s a little of both, and neither, all at the same time.
From the start, I get a VERY heavy oily rose. There is definitely leather, oud, saffron and raspberry supporting it, in that order, but for that reason alone, it’s not a Tuscan Leather clone. It’s really not even similar to Noir de Noir. This is much brighter and very floral. This scent lingers in the back of your nose in such a pleasant way that you can actually taste it. Again, its a very bright oily rose.
Once the rose starts to fade (or your nose gets used to it, I’m not sure which) then you will start to get whiffs more reminiscent of Tuscan Leather, but again, its by no means a clone. The oily rose becomes a waxy rose (thanks to the oud) on top of the leather, which is not as pronounced as the leather in Tuscan Leather.
Don’t get me wrong, this is nice! I’m still considering buying a bottle, because of its price and quality. I’d wear this over Noir de Noir or some other dark rose-oud scent any day, but don’t be fooled into thinking this will satisfy your itch for Tuscan Leather. Better stick to Nabeel Arab Tradition, Nabeel Macho Man, or Rasasi La Yuqawam for that.Update: I ended up buying a full bottle… for only $26. I couldn’t resist for that price, and I knew I’d kick myself if I didn’t. I’m looking forward to layering this with Tuscan Leather/Nabeel Arab Tradition. This is a great quality scent for the price! While it may be an acquired taste, the quality is superb.

This is one I loathed on the paper test strip. On paper, it smells overpoweringly of wet leather. On skin, it’s a totally different story. It’s beautiful and exactly as described in the accords: powder, rose, wood, suede, spice. It’s not a sillage monster which is a good thing. It’s a rich scent and could easily become fatiguing. It has great longevity.
A bunch of tester bottles just came on the market and you will likely need to blind buy. (BTW, The tester bottles appear to have a minor bubbling in the red liner color. Maybe that’s why they are on the market now. I can detect no effect on fragrance or beauty of the bottle.)

Just bought a back-up bottle for $31.00 ! This is listed elsewhere — same stuff in in deluxe packaging for $179.99 !

UPDATE: Been living with this for about a week.
Totally happy with the projection and longevity.
    Excellent buy for about $40.00
My search for a strong not-so-cheapie Oud has ended.
P.S. I swear there is some ROSE in this even though it’s not in the notes list on here!
SAFE to blind buy if you are looking for what I described !

  23. :

Excellent Blind Buy! I cannot believe this is a “cheapie” as the bottle is beautiful– almost like something from Gucci or Dior !
I was looking for a good Oud akin to a Tom Ford– and I got one! I get smokey leather with florals that can ALMOST pass for “rose” .
This is a very masculine scent — ladies beware before buying.
Not as strong as Tuscan Leather –but a close copy with it’s own DNA. Office friendly (but don’t go over 4 sprays before you leave the house). This also smells like one of the Club De Nuit line of Tom Ford clones.
    100% satisfied customer. Under $30.00 I recall.

As with most people here I bought this blind after hearing praising reviews.
Everyone mentioned how leathery and jammy this is, which got me excited especially given the price.
Opened my package a year ago, was instantly impressed by the bottle but was surprised how much rose was in this.
    I was frankly disappointed.
Wearing it for a while now
After 1 hour of super rosy smell, you start getting trickles of oud.
This then seamlessly blends into a gorgeous smooth leather supported by violet musk and vanilla.
Lasts for 8 hours easy with good projection after an hour of beast.
The opening is very feminine but the rest of the scent is all man.
    I’m a fan.
    8/10

This is essentially the women’s version of Tom Ford’s tuscan leather. There is a much bigger emphasis on the taif rose, a smoother leather (suede), but I don’t get any oud.
At $50 CAD for 75ml, this is worth a blind buy
For an extract de perfume, it could last longer, but still goes for about 6 hours.

Finally got it….and Im again realizing that pining for a fragrance is bound to cause disappointment…its not bad…its a rose/raspberry bomb with no detectable ¨oud¨..

Just confirming what others have said: what Fragrancenet has is the rose/oud parfum extract. I just got mine today! It is an unopened tester with a small plastic cap instead of the fancy gold one; it comes in a plain brown box. It is labeled on the bottom as perfume extract. The bottle is beautiful, with a ruby red inner part. It is large and heavy, very high quality. The fragrance is strongly oud-inflected from the start. In this first hour, I smell mostly oud, smoke, leather and some floral notes, probably the Taif rose, plus saffron. Not really getting any raspberry but maybe when I start the cycle again with another spray! I like it very much.

    Hi, Matz,
Ah, looks like Fragrancenet does have the wrong written description, but it’s definitely Oud &Rose I’m smelling (received Al Haramain Mukahallat Seufi & Lancome L’Autre Oud in a Beautyspin order the same day as the Yurman! Both rose/Oud. The Seufi is amazing, btw).
It’s the red bottle, smells like the notes listed above, and says it is an extrait on the bottom of the bottle. Also, the liquid itself is not dark color. I can’t see the juice in the bottle, but it leaves no color on the skin. There’s a batch code I can check for you later, as well, but I haven’t found a way to date it that way online.
Fragrancenet has never let me down by sending me the wrong item. Shipping (at least the free shipping) is kinda slow, but I’ve always received what is pictured. I honestly don’t read their note descriptions.
I’ve heard reviews saying their customer service is excellent if the item isn’t to one’s satisfaction, as well.
    Hope this helps!

    Hi “unregistered”
    I’m still confused…..
Just checked Fragrancenet and found a tester of the illusive Limited Edition. The picture showed the dark red bottle, the details said it was launched in 2008 and the notes were not showing oud/rose.
Is this the item you ordered….but was lucky to get the pale on depicted above? If so I am jumping for joy and will order on asap….hoping that the tester stock isn’t a mix of both and I will get the dark one….fingers crossed!

    Hi!
What Fragrancenet and other vendors have is the 2008 limited edition….that one has a stronger red liquid without any oud at all….the coveted one depicted above was an edition aimed for the Gulf Area, it can still be found at Paris Gallery in Dubai Mall for example. This mix-up of the 2008/2011 editions is quite unfortunate. The notes for the 2008 are; Green Petals, Mandarin, Guava, Peony, Exotic Woods, Rose, Patchouli, Vanilla, Musks, Cassis, Water Lily……not a trace of oud around…..

This is back in stock again at Fragrancenet and their eBay shop for around $30 as of September 9, 2016. I’ve ordered mine and will update with a review as soon as it is delivered!
    Update September 24, 2016:
I received this today from Fragrancenet. The Yurman tester is indeed a rose/Oud combination with some suede, raspberry, and oddly mushroom-like bitterness of cypriol/nagarmotha, perhaps vetiver, although neither are listed among the notes above. I’m guessing these earthy, rooty notes are what constitutes “oud”. I can see how this is well-liked by men, because of the woody/rooty notes contrasting with the sweetness of the rose and berry make it less feminine.
Hours later, the sharpness of the berry, rose, and oud fade, and the sweetness of labdanum/amber emerge. I’m anosmic to most musks, so if it’s there, I can’t say. It’s warm and pleasant enough.
The bottle is red like the one pictured above, and having smelled the 2008 Yurman in the gold bottle, I can assure you the two are not in any way the same. There is nothing to indicate that Yurman released a different limited edition extrait in 2008 that is also in the same red bottle as this. It seems likely the stock of the 2011 item sold out before the testers were used up, and were thus released to the discounters, as it usually occurs in the business.
A safe bet if you know rose/Oud is your thing & an economical one at that.

I find this frag very much more into the “feminine” leaning side. The first couple of minutes is a rose blast. This stays on my skin for like an hr at least. It quiets down to a spicy, sweet scent and pardon my nose but it reminds me of my moms old Youth Dew……which i found too heavy and quite abnoxious. It also is reminincent to me to Opium by YSL.but a bit less spicy. I definately wouldnt wear this to work as a guy. Its too much for a close work enviornment. I bought this blind from hearing tons about it on Youtube. I guess i dont need to “kill em” all around me to enjoy a frag. So..Id say for me its not as “wearable” as Id like it to be….just sayin’

  34. :

    3 out of 5

What’s with all the people saying the smell rose?
    I kid.
Yes, strong fresh rose in the beginning – for the first minute or so, it’s hard to distinguish any other notes. But wait! Who is that?! Oh, it’s raspberry. Hey raspberry. You’re cool. I can’t say that I agree with the amount of hype this gets – especially by the guys – because it leans feminine for sure. Not that a guy can’t pull it off – but if you smelled a woman wearing it, you’d probably think it was fitting.
Anyway – not bad. You’ll get great performance for the price – the raspberry note helps bury the rose every now and then, which is nice. But yea – smells like roses.

  35. :

    3 out of 5

I fall in to the hype
    And what a mistake
What good is a perfume so unbearable for the first 2 hours
No one cant say this smell good at the opening you have to wait like 2 hours to be a little enjoyable
And yes after 2 hours smell like tuscan leather

Ranchorita are you sure you aren’t thinking of the original david yurman perfume. The color of the bottle in the inside of special edition is red. And its a plastic bottle insert that is sandwiched inbetween the two crystal faces.

  37. :

    3 out of 5

In the opening, this is one of my favorite treatments of oud and rose, and I quite like the smell on the bottle, and freshly sprayed. I am not, alas, fond of the dry-down, somewhere around the 2 hour mark. There seems to be an issue with the bronze lacquer color inside the bottle, but the bottle itself is a marvelous crystal thing. I may keep this just for the wonder of having a nice crystal brick in my collection.

after watching youtube review hyping this fragrance,i bought a sample.I received it today. The opening is roses, like a bouquet of roses and i actually like it.More than 4hrs have gone by and all i can smell is the roses.I’m not getting the leather/suede or oud.If you don’t like rose, you won’t like this one.Nothing really special about this.

  39. :

    3 out of 5

David Yurman Limited Edition is a powerful rose/oud combination enhanced by suede and lightened in part by raspberry and vanilla. The opening is almost harsh–the oud factors in strongly throughout the life of the fragrance but the sweeter notes come out more in the dry down, as is typically the case. Saffron and coriander help shape the fragrance herbally without taking much of the attention away from the oud, the centerpiece.
This reminds me of Rose d’Arabie from the Armani Prive line, though DYLE is more acerbic and oud-heavy than rose-heavy. DYLE’s sprayer is a jet stream, though, so it requires a delicate and deliberate application as distribution is limited.
DYLE is an extrait, so particularly with its note arrangement, it’s unsurprising that it’s powerful in terms of both projection and longevity. Also unsurprising is that this should likely be reserved exclusively for colder weather—it’s difficult to predict how cloying it might be in warm weather. At $31 for a 75ml tester on FragranceNet, this is an unusual bargain that should be tried. Strong and a steal of a deal, I like but don’t love it, as it’s still a little too harsh for me to fully warm up to, but it has a rightful place in my collection.

Just received this after buying on a whim. Considering the price, this stuff 10/10 all the way. The top if a bit off-putting, but after the sweetness subsides, it becomes magical. A few minutes after applying, it develops some sort of dirty synthetic note which I absolutely love. I don’t know what this note is, and I suppose it’s what others are referring to as suede, but to me it almost smells like tire rubber (in the best of ways). Sounds weird, sure, but mixed with the berry and floral notes, it’s truly fantastic.
Currently I’m at about 2 hours into wearing it and it’s becoming harder to discern the various notes. It’s all been blended into a beautiful medley.
I will be buying another bottle soon before the price shoots up.

  41. :

Two sprays on fabric and this scent opens with a blast of oily oud with bombastic roses like Noir de Noir, but with just a touch of raspberry. It reminds me of being in a rose garden in 1910, with art nouveau-style wrought iron peacock statues. Extravagant and aggressively romantic.
After the first 20 minutes the oud and rose start to take a back seat and a synthetic raspberry becomes front and center. Gradually it begins to blend and mellow with the suede, and finally the four main players in this fragrance share the spotlight. When sprayed directly on skin, the phases of the fragrance seem less distinct, with the leather being recognizable immediately.
Many people compare this scent to Tom Ford Tuscan Leather. I can see where this comparison stems from, but the development is reversed. Tuscan Leather starts with the pungent birch tar apparent in plush new leather then softens to reveal a creamy berry underneath. Where Tuscan leather could be described as luxurious in a way that’s materialistic and erotic, David Yurman is the luxury of idealistic romance, a dilettante pining over her first suitor.
Unisex yes, but David Yurman comes across a bit stronger on the feminine side to me as the rose and raspberry plays a prominent role throughout the life of the scent. Some other reviewers have said that they find the fragrance to be more masculine, so maybe “androgynous” is a better descriptor for this scent, as it seems to marry the masculine and the feminine but challenge both.
I enjoy this scent but I find it difficult to wear. As a man, I feel like I would have to dress to the nines to pull this scent of with confidence, and the truth is I go to formal social functions pretty rarely. Amazing how a scent as affordable as this is too intimidatingly rich to join my collection!

All theses reviews and it seems a bit polarizing in the loves and hates. I just got this today and I LOVE it!! It reminds me a bit of La Yuqawam Homme, and since I have never smelled Tom Ford’s Tuscan Leather I can only compare it to the former. Its rich, oudy, sweet, but not too sweet. Yes, it is a bit strong, but I really like my scents strong. Is this an everyday fragrance? No. But like one reviewer said, once or twice a week to really enjoy this beautiful fragrance, yes. I detect the raspberry, leather and the oud as quite prominant plus the rose. The rest I can barely tell its there. Unless one loves oud, I would suggest a try before you buy. To me it is just beautiful.

Just got my hand on this one from Fragrance net and must tell what a heavy bottle and one of the most beautiful looking bottle. Got it for US$34 and smells like niche perfume by Maison Francis Cashmere oud which retails for 300 plus dollar. Love the smell of this and hope the bottle doesn’t leave the colour in the juice as mentioned by one of the reviewer.

  44. :

Starts off with suede and raspberry a la Tuscan Leather but softer and a bit sweeter, very nice. At this stage I still consider it unisex. But as it dries down it becomes more bitter and smokier, if I were a woman, I would not wear this, unless you are a older lady.
I was never a fan of TL and now with this, I definitely won’t even consider buying the Tom Ford. Not that they are identical, but similar, and this has even more notes making it more interesting than the TF.

Started out as a “like”, and ended up as a “love”. This was one that I was so interested in, I originally blindly purchased it for my wife…at least that’s what I planned to tell her if I didn’t like it. But, surprisingly, I liked it and she hated it. The first couple of weeks, all I got was a hint of the berry and a lot of the floral notes commingled with the oud and suede, but the combination for the top and mid came across very “perfumey”. Now, three weeks later, I can truly say, this is blended masterfully. Off the top, I get the coriander, berry, and floral notes. The berry and saffron carry through the mid which features the rose and oud combination. This rose and oud combo is very smooth. I hadn’t tried a rose and oud combo that I thought was worth owning because most come across too rugged and unrestrained. In the base, the suede starts to peak through and just adds an additional elegant touch to the composition. The suede note is very realistic and melds very nicely with that rose, oud, and berry note that’s still holding on. I don’t get much vanilla, but, I think if they’d added more, it would have caused an imbalance in the base notes since vanilla tends to take over in the base of fragrances. I get excellent longevity (12 hours) and projection (a good scent cloud for at least 6 hours) with this fragrance. My only gripe would be that the tester I bought had a pretty cheap top, but I’m thankful to have this fragrance for $30. An absolute steal and eye opener for rose/oud fragrances.

Glad my husband gave it another try with lighter hand. He reaches now every day for this scent, and its really growing to be beautiful on him ! Smells dusty soft leather very mossy oud and sweet saffron blossom with a bit of dark velvet rose. sexy dusty vampire scent. Still can t see a woman wearing this, even if its a vampiress haha but a keeper for my hubby! Do never overspray this one! It could turning people away from you. Projection is very good just by walking throught the dust or aplied a small amounth on neck and wrists.

I finally made the plunge… From all the reviews and the research I have done, I will try to explain what I get out of this fragrance and why you can get a retail $180 fragrance for $35 in a tester…
First of all, Yes the cheap tester “David Yurman Limited Edition” is the real thing! They must of had a quality control problem with these bottles, which could be why one can get these so cheap… as the juice leaks inside the glass and the gold gilding at the base of the sprayer is affected by the perfume. Once you wipe off the gold gilding and clean up the bottle a bit, everything is great… If I had these problems with the $180 boxed version I would be PISSED… But if all one cares about… is the quality of the juice, it is the best buy I have made all year!
Now for the scent… To begin with YOU HAVE TO LIKE A SWEET OUD and SUEDE/LEATHER. It is not for the tame of heart! And yet, it is dimensional still very smooth and luxurious. It reminds me of a mix of Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford, La Yuqawam Homme Rasasi for men, 24 Gold and a sweet soft ROSE/OUD. All layered together… Each combination of scents like the layers of an onion being peeled away through the drydown. I get a smooth delicate leather with blast of sweet creamy oud and further sweetened by the raspberry note. The rose sits in the background with the other florals with the rose on top. Drying down hours later developing into a soft sandalwood vanilla musk.
From the reviews one gets a mix of likes and dislikes from males and females… I see this as a UNISEX fragrance with each gender wanting something a little more… leaning more to the right masculine or to the left feminine… With that said, this is the middle of the road. I think the notes of this fragrance are masculine but they are so well blended and pulls off a vibe that would smell luxurious and sensual on a lady aswell. Such a pleasant fragrance, rich and deeply moving… no matter what your gender. Very Niche and Very Top Quality!
UPDATE: After wearing this fragrance off and on for a few weeks now I have to say I began to enjoy it more and more! This GEM is something you don’t want to wear everyday as it will become cloying, but to wear it maybe 1 day a week great! Keep it to 2 sprays MAX… as it is very potent! I get more of a raspberry scented delicate leather with the rose oud being in the background. I do find this to be more masculine as my wife couldn’t wear it as it was just too strong. Ya, 10/10 for good deal $$$ on a niche level scent!
