   Limes? Yes! Alcoholic limes? Yesss, like a cocktail, spiked with the radiance of cloves.
   Is it mossy-leathery? You betcha.
   Is it a gender bender? WTH, you shouldn’t even be here.
   Is it like a second skin? Yes!
   Is it signature scent worthy? Oh hell yes.
   Is it like Christopher Street? Not quite, perhaps thirty years ago.
   Let the rich pretentious hipsters spend their moolah at the Le Labo counter at Barney’s down the road.
   When the Davidoff classic runs out, when the Moschino pour Homme runs out, I know what I’ll be drinking on Christopher Street. Actually, I’ve already started, and perhaps you are a few drinks behind.

   This is a classic chypre with a modern twist. “They just don’t make em like this anymore” is the feeling I get while wearing this. On me I get a soft animalic Woody vibe with citrus bringing up the rear. There’s also a strange metallic note in there also which intrigues me. Performance is great as sillage and longevity are on par with other quality niche scents. This is definitely a night out scent on a cool night. I’m glad this is in my collection.

   A bright, airy and cheerful modern chypre, this is a very interesting scent that defies any stereotype and remains very unique and edgy. Designed as an ode to the interesting bohemians that populate this New York district, the perfume is a measured contrast in eclectic notes. It begins like most chypres with citrusy bergamot and orange with a leather and tobacco alongside them. As it begins drying down, we get more citrus with cinnamon, cloves and carnation. Upon complete settling, the mossy powdery chypre base is revealed with oakmoss, incense, musk, myrrh and patchouli. A composition that feels modern and timeless at the same time, this one is a beautifully blended unisex beauty with moderate to strong sillage and good longevity. Designed with the freewheeling bohemian soul in mind. Enjoy!

   This masterfully blended stuff will leave you incapable of deciding whether it’s a classic or not. It screams classic but yet very modern.
   Definitely not that regular scent that you usually come across here and there. Not for the average nose as well.
   I was shocked when I first smelled it. Is there a fragrance that smells like that? I wondered.
   Super glad that I, by coincidence, got it in my collection.

   This is another interesting one. I got a sample of this ages ago, tried it, found it a bit masculine, and thought I’d given it to my husband to use. But when I was going through my samples box, there it was, hiding right in the back of the box. So I gave my husband a sniff of the bottle to see what he thought – he reared back, gave me a horrified look and declared it way too sweet. All I can say is that our noses must be wired differently, because I hardly get any sweetness from this – on me, this is all spice and leather, wrapped in tobacco and incense and cloves. I get how people are saying they get an almost BO type smell from this – but it’s not a stinky, manky, rank BO. It’s a sexy, clean sort of smell. The leather and spice and musk make me think of a well-worn, well-loved leather jacket, that you’ve had for years and that you wear everywhere – it’s soft and comfortable and it has become infused with years of aftershave and perfume and smoke, with a touch of sweat. Three hours in, the musk started to come out, with a touch of sweetness, with the citrus adding a lovely tang. Five hours in it was still going strong – not overpoweringly so, rather just pleasantly spicy wafts every now and again. The tobacco was still there, only softer, and it mingles nicely with the musk. It’s now 10 hours since I put this on, and I’m still getting lovely wafts of this, so it’s right up there for longevity. I really have enjoyed how this has evolved over the day – it’s extremely well done.

   This is fantastic stuff – I’m probably a little late to the discussion, given that it has been available for almost 4 years now. But I only recently had the chance to try this gem, which really deserves all the praise it has received.
   This fragrance has that rarest quality that so many of us seek – a sense of timelessness. It doesn’t smell dated per se, but one can’t help but notice the references to legendary chypres of the past – Mitsouko, 31 Rue Cambon, Bel Ami. This is classic in the best sense of the word; it feels sturdy and durable, but also refined. And as others have noted, this fragrance is multifaceted and really evolves over time.
   It opens with that alcoholic lime note, but quickly transitions into a sort of dirty floral/herbal concoction focused on the interplay between the patchouli, the cloves, and the myrrh. Over the course of a couple hours, the scent becomes increasingly centered on that beautiful dry leather note in the base. I’m ultimately reminded of a really well-worn leather bomber jacket, which has been lovingly used over the course of a decade or so by a old-school gentleman who never leaves the house without product in his hair. Beautiful work.

   I’m a little baffled right now. Like the first time I smelled a niche fragrance. Going through the transformation of this scent was a real pleasure. Wow. I will need this in my leather arsenal this winter as well. Amazing!
   It is very boozy opening up and the leather comes out in the dry down. Something kind of animalic too. Amazing. Niche at its finest. Very high quality and very very powerful juice!

   Not sure what to think of this one. It has a booziness that reminds me of Frapin Speakeasy. It’s more of a scent that evokes a certain location – maybe a bar with leather furniture. Nice to smell, but not something I’d want to smell like.

   بعد رحلة طويلة من الغياب
   ها هو يعود من الماضي مرة أخرى
   كم مضى على رحيله؟
   ثلاثون.. ربما أربعون عاما
   حينما كان كل شيء يبدو أنيقا وجميلا
   وكأن شيئا لم يتغير
   يقف السيد كريستوفر أمام المرآة كما أعتاد أن يفعل قبل خروجه إلى عمله كل صباح
   فإنك حينما تكون معلما في حقبة الستينيات وحتى الثمانينيات فهذا ليس بالأمر الهين
   فالأمر يستلزم أن تكون أقرب للمثالية في كل شيء، وأن تجمع بداخلك كل ما يلزم لأن تكون محط أنظار واحترام الجميع
   لا يمكن لمن أمضى فترة من الوقت في ربوع أوروبا المتوسطية أن يغادرها دون أن يحمل معه:
   الليمون الأخضر الإيطالي الأكثر حلاوة والأقل حمضية من نظيره الصقلي الأصفر
   أما البرتقال الإشبيلي الأسباني المر الذي تخرج منه عند تقشيره رائحة حارة لاذعة فقد لا تتمكن من أكله أو حتى عصره ولكن رائحته الشديدة الجمال قد تحملك على أن تكون شجيرته ضمن حديقتك المنزلية الصغيرة
   تماما كما هو الحال مع ريجيو كالابريا بجنوب إيطاليا حيث كانت الشرفات تطل على السفوح الساحلية المكتسية بشجيرات البرجموت الرائعة لتمتزج داخل هذه اللوحة البصرية مع مياه البحر ولا يكتمل المشهد إلا حينما تأتيك نسمات الهواء تنساب من فوق مياه البحر مداعبة الأمواج لتصل بها إلى الشاطئ ثم تدفعها نحو البرجموت لتصلك في نهاية رحلتها محملة بهذا العبق الرائع.
   ولكن الأمر لدى السيد كريستوفر شيء مختلف، فالأمر ليس مجرد رائحة جميلة خلابة ولكنها جزء من حياته قضاها هناك ولم يشأ أن يودعها دون أن يحمل معه ذكرى لهذا المكان الذي عاش فيه فترة من عمره فسكن المكان جسده ووجدانه.
   وينتبه السيد كريستوفر ليعود من هذه الرحلة السريعة التي استمرت لثوان معدودة ليغمض عيناه اللتان تعلقتا بشجيرة وثمار البرجموت وكأنه يريد أن يحفظ هذا المشهد في داخله فإنه لم يعد له الآن وجود مع استمرار زحف العمران والأبراج الشاهقة نحو الشاطئ حتى أصبحت لا يفصلها عنه سوى شريط من الأسفلت الأسود تنهشه السيارات ليل نهار.
   وتمتد يد السيد كريستوفر إلى جيبه العلوي ليخرج منه غليونه الأبنوسي ولفافة من تبغ بوركوم ريف السويدي الصنع، ويستنشق السيد كريستوفر عبق التوباكو الخارج من عبوة بلاك كافنديش ثم يضعها هي والغليون أمامه على المنضدة مكتفيا بهذا العبق الذي يفضله على رائحة الدخان الذي ينتج من اشتعاله.
   ويغوص جسد السيد كريستوفر النحيل داخل مقعده الإنجليزي الوثير الذي تعلوه الجلود الملساء المأخوذة من الطبقة الداخلية لفراء البقر بعد كشطها لتعطي إحساسا بالنعومة والدفء.
   ويستغرق السيد كريستوفر في ثباته هذا لما يقارب الساعة إلى أن يلفحه الهواء البارد الذي قد بدأ يتحرك من حوله داخل أسوار حديقته المنزلية.
   يبدو أن الأمر أصبح في حاجة لتناول مشروبا دافئا يبعث بالدفء والحرارة داخل هذا الجسد الذي لم يعد يحتمل هذا الطقس.
   ليس هناك أفضل من كوب من شراب القرفة الساخن الذي اعتاد السيد كريستوفر أن يضيف إليه بعض حبات من القرنفل لتحفيز الدورة الدموية وتخفيف آلام الحلق خاصة لمن كانوا يعملون في نفس مهنة السيد كريستوفر.
   ويتناول السيد كريستوفر مشروبه الساخن ثم يرتدي معطفه السود الطويل ويضع في عروته أحد زهرات القرنفل الحمراء.
   ويبدأ السيد كريستوفر السير على هذا الطريق الطويل الممتدة على جانبيه أشجار البلوط العملاقة المعمرة التي قد اكتست مع الوقت بفطر طحلب السنديان الذي طغت رائحته القوية على الأجواء لتشعر وكأنك تسير في غابة ترابية رطبة…
   وينظر السيد كريستوفر إلى أقرانه من أشجار البلوط المعمرة ولسان حاله يتمتم .. حتى أنت أيضا أيها السنديان ستمضي قريبا مثلي وقد يتلاشى وجودك لتصبح مجرد اسم في ذاكرة الراحلين.
   وتزداد الرائحة العشبية الترابية عمقا مع تطاير أوراق الباتشولي الجافة بفعل الرياح.
   ويقترب السيد كريستوفر من وجهته لحضور أحد المراسم الكنسية لتستقبله أبخرة اللبان العطري الصومالي المر الذي اعتادت الكنائس الأرثوزكسيه على استخدامه
   مرحبا سيد كريستوفر … مرحبا سيد أراميس
   ويتمم كريستوفر بهذه الكلمات … وأنت أيضا عزيزي قد مضى عليك الكثير من الوقت.. وربما لم يعد يعرفك إلا قلة من الناس!!
   هكذا بدا لي عطر Christopher Street عطرا كلاسيكيا غارقا في أسبار نهايات القرن الماضي قد خرج في إطلالة جديدة محاولا إثبات وجوده في أيامنا هذه.
   هل سينجح أم ستكون مجرد محاولة فاشلة يائسة لاستنهاض حقبة قد مضت؟
   الإجابة ليست بهذه السهولة..
   فالعطر بالفعل ذو ملامح قاسية ومعقدة قد تحملك على الهيام به أو الإطاحة بزجاجته بعيدا عن أنفك
   ولا أعتقد أن هناك حالة ثالثة بينية للهيام أو الرفض
   يمكنك أن تعطي نفسك عشرات الفرص لتجربة العطر
   ولكن تأكد أنك ستخرج في النهاية بنفس الانطباع الأولي
   لأنه ببساطة عطر فلسفي يمثل جيلا أو هوية أو مزاج محدد المعالم… هل تنتمي له لتقبل العطر وتهيم به منتشيا أو ستنحيه جانبا لأنك ببساطة لا تنتمي لنفس الهوية التي خرج منها عطر Christopher Street

    ليس عطرا فقط – واعتقد ان ذلك ما اراده مروجوه ان يصلك – وانما هو طموح لتقديم تجربه ابداعيه متكامله تستند على مخاطبه حواسك مجتمعه وهو ما يلفت نظرك للوهله الاولى حيث ياتيك العطر داخل اسطوانه من الورق المقوى وعند فتح العبوه ستقابلك رائحه الباتشولى الارضيه العميقه فتجد ان هناك لفافه ورقيه دائريه تحوى اوراق الباتشول المجففه تم لفافه من الجلد الطبيعى تلف العطر مع رباط جلدى يحيطه لتصل الى قاروره العطر اخيرا فتجد لوجو الشركه مختوم على كل قطعه .
    ما هذا انها وجبه دسمه وتجربه جديده
    اسم العطر ايضا يحيلك لشارع فى مدينه نيويورك يجمع كل اطياف البشر بافكارهم الشاذه ومعتقداتهم الغريبه الماجنه المخالفه لكل قواعد الاديان والفطره الانسانيه …شارع يروج لمفهوم التحرر وقبول الاخر لذا فهو يقبل كل ممن لفظتهم مجتمعاتهم ويحاول الانف وراء العطر ان يجمع متناقضات هذا الشارع فى عطره وقد كان من الالمانى المخضرم Ralf Schwieger ((غايف شبيجر )) هكذا ينطقون اسمه والذى فعل ما يمكن ان اسميه (الرده العطريه ) حيث مد يده فى صندوق خزانته العطريه القديمه واخرج توليفه عطريه من التمانينات واعاد انتاجها بمنتهى المهاره.
    مكونات كلاسيكيه فى قالب عصرى حديث يبدأ العطر بدفقه عنيفه من الحمضيات الليمون والبرجموت والبرتقال المر ستختفى مفسحه المجال لقلب العطر من طحلب السنديان و اواق الباتشول مع القرنفل والقرفه والتوابل و لمسات زهريه تظهر وتختفى لتعادل كابه السنديان الذى بوجود يجعل العطر مغرق فى ذكوريته ومع اضافه الجلود بطبيعتها الحسيه والذى يستمر وجوده حتى النهايه يمنح مرتديه احساس البشره المفعمه بالغوايه مع وجود مراوغ للتوباكو ممزوجا بالمسك والمره والبخور فى نهايه العطر الممزوج بعنايه … لا تنتظر النهايات الزيرجوفيه الكريميه فهذا العطر مشاكس حتى النهايه و يتفاعل مع بشره مرتديه ليعطر احساس التعرق ممزوجا برائحه الجسد.
    العطر عميق ومتوازن فى توليفاته ومعقد ويحمل اوجه عديده ربما تحتار فى تصنيفه نظرا لتلاعب مكوناته فاحيانا تجزم بانه عطر شايبر واحيانا تقول عطر حمضى جلدى مسكى ولكن رغم هذا المدح الكثير يقع العطر فى المنطقه الوسطى حيث يعجب محبى العطور وقد لا يستسيغه المحيطون فلابد من التجربه قبل الشراء وهكذا الحال دائما وارى ان يقتصر استخدام العطور المعقده لمن يفهمون فقط .
    بالنسبه لانفى ارى ان العطر لا يشبه عطرا واحدا وانما قد يذكرك احيانا بعده عطر بها نفس الخط العطرى مثل جى سوى ان اوم و بيور ديستانس ام وايضا اسطوره شانيل ايجويست .
    العطر يبدع فى الشتاء ثبات جيد جدا فوحان متوسط حيث يبدأ عنيفا ويخفت سريعا وربما تكون هذ نقطه ضعفه سعر العطر 30 مل ما يعادل 100 دولار

    For some reasons, I would have expected Christopher Street to smell much more conventional than it actually does. Probably because of the very classic pyramid or, maybe, because of the concept behind it. As a matter of fact, this is a pretty unique concoction that’s daring, quirky and perhaps not so easy to like.
    There’s surely a classicism inherent to Charles Street. Something aimed at tributing old leathery-chypres of the past but there’s also something extremely novel without resulting too odd. It opens with a strident and remarkably bitter lime / orange /leather combo. Spices such as cinnamon and cloves break in right away providing a kind of metallic vibe juxtaposed to an overall sweaty facet that preserve the fragrance from bordering into *disinfectant* territories. This is probably the most difficult phase of Charles Street. You can clearly smell all of the notes involved but, at the same time, none of them smell exactly like you’d expect. There’s an overall weirdness to this fragrance that might result off-putting to many but if you hang in there, you’ll soon be up for one of the most sophisticated musky-mossy-leathery drydowns I’ve experienced in a while. Smooth resins add even more warmness to what I would classify as an incredibly *human* composition.
    Again, probably not an everyday fragrance, surely bizarre and most definitely pushing the limits of *what smells good* but nonetheless fantastic.

    I personally do not like this fragrance. It’s a floral-leather chypre that has a significant sweaty/animalic note that makes it unappealing to me. These types of fragrances are hard for me to digest, and given the relatively loud, strong projection of Christopher Street, there’s no way I could handle it. The quality of this seems good, however, it runs so contrary to my tastes that I can only recommend sampling it.
    Avoid this if you generally dislike leathers, sweaty notes, or anything animalic (civet, musk, etc) or prefer your fragrances “clean.”
    Fans of Kouros, Marquis de Sade 1740, Knize Ten, and Muscs Koublai Khan may appreciate this.

    I’ve been wearing a sample of it on and off for several days. The sillage is somewhere between moderate and heavy, especially in the first several hours, and it has excellent staying power. One or two sprays is enough for the whole day. It might stay all night, but I wouldn’t know because I usually scrub off and change perfumes at night. It smells a little different on me each time I wear it, and it smells very different on paper than on skin. The first day it was all limes with a little funky BO for the first few hours, and not much to my taste. Yesterday it was lime, cinnamon, and patchouli that caught my nose. Today the carnation, leather, and cloves come out first at the top, with the musk coming in a little behind. I find I keep wanting to sniff the sweaty lime again, and that the development remains interesting. I’m not sure a FB is in my future because the lime top note–which sticks around for several hours–doesn’t agree so well with my skin. But I’m really glad to have the chance to live with it for a few days, and probably any perfumista who gets a sample will feel the same.
    Update: I just was wandering the Charenton Macerations and Bois de Jasmin webpages and realized that Ralph Schweiger also developed my favorite Etat Libre d’Orange scent, Fils de Dieu. I haven’t reviewed it yet, but if you like Fils de Dieu you should definitely try Christopher Street!

    هذه الايام أصبحت مسميات العطور الغريبة او المثيره للجدل تتكاثر ربما لعوامل تسويقية جاذبه لا اريد اتحدث عن شارع كريستوفر لان هذا الشارع مرتبط به مظاهرة تحدث سنويا من فئة تطالب بحقوق لم ولن تطالب بها حتى الحيوانات اعزكم الله لو تكلمت تلك الحيوانات.
    عموما مايهمنا هو المزيج داخل هذه القنينه الصغيرة الظريفة ذات العبير المتقن جدا

    الذي يعتبر من الانوف الذة في تصميم العطور وان لم اكن مخطأ فهو يمتاز ايضا بموهبة خلق روائح معينه

    كل تلك العطور اعلاه اجده مقارب لها نوعاً بالنسبة لنوتة الجلود اجدها بنفس اسلوب العطور الثلاثة الاخيرة وبالنسبة في شخصية التشيبر لعطر اراميس اقرب وبالنسبة للحمضيات الحلوه لكريد افنتوس وعود امورتال مع الفارق
    اجمل ماميز عطرنا هو الاحساس الذي يبعثه والاجواء الكلاسيكية التي ستحيطك
    من أول رشة للعطر ستعرف أنك امام عطر كلاسيكي بالدرجة الاولى جوهرة الطابع التشيبري مع رائحة أرضية بفضل الباتشولي لك المكونان منسجمان مع رائحة الجلود ذات الطابع الكلاسيكي طبعا المطعمه بلمحات تبغية رطبة دخانية بشكل ناعم سنجدها دائما خلف رائحة الجلود الحاضرة في اغلب مراحل العطر لتجسد الطابع الذكوري ، يطوق تلك الرائحة التشيبرية الليذرية؛ الليمون المحلى الذي سنلمحة في بداية العطر والمسك الذي يقود الدفة بعد الليمون المحلى هذا المكونان كان لهم دور مهم جدا على اضفاء طابع حسي وعلى ترطيب المكونات الخشبية كالباتشولي ليكون اكثرا مناسباً لإكتساب الصفة التشيبريه
    العطر كما ذكرت تشيبري الهوية ذكوري بفضل رائحة الجلود
    في هذا العطر قد تلمح الروائح التاليه:
    النوتة الليمونية الحلوه دون اي حدة، الرائحة الترابية (الباتشولي) ، الجلود بشكل غير مزعج ، التبغ (علما انه ليس عطرا تبغياُ) ،المسك الحسي، والمرامية، القرنفل والاحساس التشيبري الذكوري قبل ذلك كله. .
    مالم اتطرق لها من نوتات وروائح فهو لم يكن بارزا لي.
    جمال الرائحة 9/10
    يستحق التجربة طبعا..
    ماذكرته اعلاه هو راي شخصي وليس دعوه وترغيب بالشراء
    طالما وصلت هنا فلا تنسى ذكر الله والصلاة على النبي دائما وابدا.

    This is pretty brilliant stuff and the man behind the fragrance is extremely passionate about the story that is told by the scent and by the memories of all of us who have passed down this street fraught with history, joy, terror and an unquenchable thirst for freedom. For me it’s sort of a chypre for a few seconds and then it starts smelling funky like human bodies in close quarters. I swear I even get a whiff of amyl nitrate which was a mainstay along this boulevard back in the day. It is not perversely dirty like some recent fragrances because there is enough intricacy in the heart to keep things moving along, there is an intellectual side to the heart, a very well-crafted mix of spices that dance in parallel to the cumin/sweat accord. The drydown is all musk and patchouli and happy days, life-affirming in a quiet but persistent fashion.
