Scent of an pharmacy (after spraying) + almond essence + dry note of wood varnish (varnishing of wooden fence), almondy scent of toluene paint thinner (!) + propolis + wet powder sawdurst + spruce.
It smells like sawmill or woodworker workshop. The base is sweeter, it reminds of almond milk hard candies.
(It’s funny – for other people it’s cinammon, coriander or peach and for me almond and toluene)

Why doesn’t Etro make this anymore?! I am glad that I have a huge bottle. It has been lasting for years and it even seems to grow better in the bottle. It is a fragrance for gourmand lovers (like me). Lots of cinnamon and cozy sweetness.
Twin of Kenzo jungle, but jungle is more synthetic

Never smelled anything alike in my life! so original and so gourmand.I would start saying none of the reviews matches my own experience. Etro’s Raving is all about fresh sweet Coriander, yes, Coriander. I don’t smell the peach note at all,a turn off note for males. The fresh ginger citrous opening lives short and immediately the sweet coriander notes dominates the whole perfume. The sandalwood and the cloves can be identify very very subtlety in the background but you have to concentrate very hard your nose to find them.Very refreshing, powdery, spicy sweet coriander, you can’t stop sniffing, just delicious, erotic, bold, different, narcissist,Mediterranean…unisex, masterpiece, get it while you can.

    Powerful, classic.
The first spray blew me away, it is a juicy peach with bitter galbanum. As the top notes wear off soft florals, cinnamon, nutmeg become noticeable on my skin. I sense cinnamon most of all. I get wafts of the delicious peach from time to time, it is sweet, gentle, a bit musky. The spices are heavy and bold, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom with a tinge of vanilla on a warm, creamy sandalwood-amber base. The drydown is sweet sandalwood.
Raving lasted on my skin for a few hours and it is a skin scent.

This smells quite peachy and sheer, i can get a gentle resinous base, but no spices! Its creamy somewhat too possibly from the vanilla, i really enjoy this one, gentle and just *nice*.

oh, wow! I really love this smell! Deep woody and spicy indeed. On my skin it fits increadibly well. It’s like my nose is attracted to my skin; I can not stop smelling! What is strange; when I rub my hand hard on the perfumed place, the fragrance change for a very short time to a bit salty water with spices.
Cinnamon is well absorbed in the other notes, which is why this perfume in my opinion does not smell like Christmas

un’acqua per il corpo speziata e calda. sembra un ossimoro, ma è così! su di me non va bene

On me this is quite lovely, very deep, woody, spicy, vanillic in not too sweet way. Maybe even bit christmassy – but not in the obvious spicy-potpourri -style. The musk blends in beautifully. Although it is strong it stays relatively close to the skin – a property I personally value in stronger scents, I don’t want to intimidate others. Great option to warm me up on the heart of winter.
Perhaps bottle-worthy to me… …but still considering. Will update the review, this was my first experience.

I personally don’t see how the name fits the fragrance in any way, and to be honest when I got my sample of this, from the name, Raving – I thought immediately it was a mens perfume. (At the time I hadnt seen the full bottle which is pink) OK so I put this on and whoa its strong and I immediately got an 80’s vibe. I can barely smell the top notes at all, its all base and mid notes to me and yes you can smell all of them. You know what, I think a man could even perhaps wear this, if a guy liked deep, spicy, vanilla based scents, he could pull this off easily, I don’t think it’s entirely feminine. To me, this is a bit different but Im not sure I like it. Its quite a heavy spicy scent (the nutmeg is very strong), and it obviously has a gourmand vein due to the vanilla, but its cloying to me and has no transparency whatsoever. It sits on top of your skin completely, I found it didn’t mesh at all. Skin scent lovers – stay away!! I would class it as an oriental overall, as the spices are so prominent. I could only wear this in the coldest of weather. But I probably wouldn’t wear this at all. It might be a comfort scent for some, but its just too strong and has a musty-ness that I’m not loving.

It’s not that spicy as I thought. But the openning notes are quite impressive, so unusual. I don’t know how they create, but it smells exactly like a bowl of SALTY SEA WATER and maybe have a rusty nail dipped in for months!!!
After this salty notes rest, the usual spicy and floral notes are instead. They are soft, making me feel very comfortable. I like its warm and calm drydown as well.
Raving is an interesting fragrance, but may not suit everyone’s taste. It’s unique, either you like it or hate it. And I think the scent fits its name.
