After two excellent perfume collection by Officina delle Essenze created and launched by talented perfumer Maurizio Lembo, at the end of 2013 brand new line of perfumes was introduced – Bottega Profumiera which encompasses 6 fragrances. In my conversation with Maurizio I found out that he worked for a long time on this collection, even at the time of launch of previous collections, because he wanted to single it out in particular way and to make sure that all compositions will convey ideas and feelings he has been cherishing for years.
The aim was to create fragrances that convey particular feelings, thoughts, images and parts from his life and embody them perfectly in the new compositions in which we can feel the unique signature of the creator.
Known for a collection of room fragrances and extraordinary collections which are available as pure perfume Puro (collection of 5 fragrances) and I Caldi (collection of 3 fragrances dedicated to wood) Maurizio offers new emotions poured into truly top quality perfumes. The new collection by Bottega Profumiera provides compositions for everyone’s taste. They are delicate, emotional and special. Names of the fragrances of the new collection are as follows: Shardana, Rose Poudre, Galantuomo, Mon Jardin, Polianthes and Gourmand and Maurizio’s story of each fragrance separately awakes the wish to test them and explore the compositions.
I cordially recommend Polianthes to fans of tuberose. Polianthes Tuberose or better known as tuberose is the key note of this women’s fragrances. As soon as you mention tuberose as the leading note of the composition you immediately think of the very sexy, strong floral, intoxicating, irresistible scent, but in this case Maurizio’s wish was to make tuberose soft, radiant, strong, “independent” – just as the women! “There is no sensuality without intelligence, no passion without power, there is no love without independence …” – highlights Maurizio Lembo.
Composition of Polianthes lines beautiful, elegant and sweet notes of tiare flower, tuberose, gardenia, ylang-ylang and jasmine, warmed and strengthened by benzoin, olibanum, amber, vanilla, teak wood, vetiver and sandalwood. The blend of floral notes is calmed with warm resins and vanilla and woman’s beauty and strong character are described with woody accords.

This is quite lovely, a kind of tuberose bubblegum scent.
It’s very sweet but also creamy and fruity. The vanilla note tempers the florals and works very well.
Nothing earth shattering but a quite effective floral gourmand.

Polianthes opens bright and intriguing – fresh white flowers tiare, tuberose a hint of gardenia – all fresh cut. The pleasure lasts for 20 min on me before it dries down to a faint bubble gum smell. I cannot detect any middle or basenotes. Its all about the first sniff. Lovely anyway.

I really wanted to like this… my first sniff in the bottle was highly intriguing, and at first spray, I thought I had found a winner. The tuberose/gardenia/jasmine combo reminded me slightly of Kim Kardashian in its sweetness, but Polianthes was richer and more complex… yet as the top notes faded, so did my enjoyment. The middle notes brought an earthier feel that translated to “dusty attic” on my skin, and this was the scent that intensified over the next few hours. Scrubber. 🙁

I really like this one. The Ylang-Ylang here makes me think I am smelling a little banana and the Tiare flower gives it that beach vibe a la Child by Susan Owens. I might like this better than Child because the tuberose is not screetchy but real smooth and well blended. This makes me feel like I’m in the South Pacific Islands drinking tropical drinks with little umbrellas. Nothing wrong with that.
