Smells like it should have aldehydes in it, and I’m surprised it doesn’t. Not a fan of this kind of fragrance but I do like this one. Clean and alcohol smelling in a L’Aire Du Temps, Chanel No. 5, and Van Clef and Arpel’s First kinda way. Maybe could be described as an expensive high end version of Navy. Mature smelling but very nice, this ain’t a kids scent which I appreciate. I picture a woman in her late 40’s in a fur coat smelling like this. Not necessarily my cup of tea, but still I give it a thumps up.

I get an initial impression of anise, weird! Then it dries down to gentle spiciness. I don’t get fruit and I don’t experience floral, either. But there does exist an underlying animalic quality–which is only supposed to be present in the original formulation. Overall, completely appropriate for a fur coat mist.

I didn’t know Zibeline de Weil was originally for coats. I get no hints of plum or any other fruity scents, instead I get a slightly acidic, soapy smell. It fades out quickly.

Soft woody oriental fragrances are turning into my favorites. This one has aldehyde listed as a note on another site and that may also be why I’m grooving on it. I will do a full wear to be sure but am thinking I see a FB in future

Z TO A / A TO Z I reviewed Antilope a good while back, Antilope being my signature fragrance. Nowadays Zibeline is getting to be my favorite. Is it the marron glacé? Whatever, Z makes A seem somewhat bland.

Zibeline de Weil is a delicious soft, warm, medium-depth oriental that I find to be quite subtle with a light application.
The combination of plum, tonka and orange blossom is divine. The wallflower and sweet pea are unusual notes, and I’m not sure I can detect them or the bergamot, but perhaps it is their inclusion that freshens the fragrance.
Lavallectra, spot on! Thank you. This one goes on my ‘want’ shelf for winter.

I haven’t ever tried the original Weil Zibeline so I can only write what I think of this one with no comparison.
It starts off a little strong but settles down quickly, and a little goes a long way. The main notes that stand out on me are orange blossom, plum and tonka… it is beautiful but quite mature smelling, I’m in my mid 20’s and I don’t know if it really suits me… yet. Maybe in a few years.
I have to agree with Mooniq, probably ladies 35+ will appreciate this more.

Zibeline de Weil Eau de Parfum. I have been curious on this one for a while. Now I own a bottle. Gorgeous, sophisticated, chic and elegant. For women 35+ I think. Soft, warm and yet intensive, I get wonderful wiffs of Zibeline when it encircling me as I move around. Halfway sweet and a bit dark flowernotes. Zibeline is not a modern sugarsweet scent (thank god). Basenote gives Tonka, Benzoin and Plum on my skin.

I love this house. I own vintage Secret de Venus, vintage Zibeline, vintage Antilope extrait and all are great. I was eager to try this, so i bought a bottle unsniffed. They did a good job with this, i loved it from the first sniff i took. As the other reviewer said, this completely evokes Zibeline, but in a modern jacket. Its warm, spicy, sweet, very feminine. Am definately stocking up on this.

This is 21st century Weil, via Aromes Ligeriens (Aroli), with high qulity ingredients, but it is not your mother’s nor grandmother’s Weil, lacking as it does the civet/amber/musk animalics that were the Weil signature. I am too partial to Weil of old to be a reliable reviewer for this one, but I will try to think of Zibeine de Weil as simply a new fragrance for our times, without it’s storied past. OK, here goes:
Peach colored juice. Sniffed from vial, I get oriental with a faint reminder of vintage Zibeline. It evokes luxury, and reminds me a bit of Ralph Lauren Safari for men. In the morning, I got a lovely powdery iris—or orris, my nose isn’t quite educated enough for the distinction.

(later) I just reapplied the ZdV on my right arm, and vintage Z on the left. Old Zibeline has coriander and civet to my nose; I just looked up the notes, and sure enough, there they are. Both fragrances share bergamot, ylang-ylang, benzoin, and tonka. This bears out my impression that the new Zibeline de Weil reminds me of a very cleaned up old Zibeline. The new fragrance does stand on its own as refined, luxurious, and well-made, and reflects 21sy c tastes and/or [IFRA] circumstances.
