I received a sample of this from Sephora today and to my nose it smells just like Kenzo World. Maybe a tad bit stronger. I love Kenzo World so this is a win. I have so many perfumes right now that I cannot justify purchasing this one too. I have Kenzo World, Kenzo World Intense (which is amazing) and backups of both of them. This I may visit after I finish all of the Kenzos. It will take years though. I would be willing to swap if someone bought it and doesn’t love it. Just let me know what you need and I will check the stash. lol.

Sharp. sour, cloying and very powdery. A terrible creation!

man, i love the majority of these notes. iris ? oak moss ? patch with violet leaf ? i was expecting that particular type of boudoir glamor mixed with cool intimate coziness so many of these notes usually offer me. but i found it wholly unremarkable and rather generic upon trying it. i’m usually a fan of tocca (they’re my favorite range to gift to people) — i’ll try again some day, perhaps, and hope for something not so utterly flaccid and, i dare say, conventionally bland.

It’s okay. I got it for free from Sephora to review. #Summerscents A little too sweet for me, but I may wear it on occasion.

Love the bottle, hate the fragrance. I keep trying this one when I stop by Sephora in hopes that I’ll fall for it one day, but that day hasn’t come yet. I’d buy most of the other Tocca scents (Bianca, Liliana, Colette, Florence) before I’d even look at Maya.

I’m surprised no one mentioned smelling La Vie Est Belle with this one because when I first sprayed it, LVEB immediately came to mind (not a surprise since they have four notes in common). This is like LVEB light since it’s not quite as sweet (no pralines here). If it had been patchouli-less, I would’ve snatched a bottle up right away because that’s the only note in LVEB that makes me stay far away and it’s quite present in Maya to my patch-sensitive nose, unfortunately.

Tested today, and I must say I liked it very much! Not as sweet and floral as most of their other fragrances, but still very feminine and beautiful. The black current is wonderfully blended with the Iris, violet leaf & sandalwood, the other notes are noticeable but in the background on my skin. I’m thinking this would be a perfect autumn fragrance for myself. Love the bottle and color too.

Walked into a Sephora twice in the past week to try this.. I keep getting Rhianna’s Rebelle from this… A finer version of Rebelle, but nearly its twin. Of course, with all of the other fragrances being sprayed in the room, it’s possible that my sniffer was thrown out of whack for a moment.
    Try, try again! 😉

This makes the second Tocca fragrance I’ve owned besides Brigitte as most are too floral and grandma smelling. I tried Maya in Sephora not drawn by the purple color but bcuz it was new. I spritzed it in the bend of my arm and forgot about it as I shopped around. I noticed it smelled like Flower Bomb at intro but as it dried down it developed into something sweet, flower, woody, very luxurious and sexy. I received a compliment on how good I smelled from a very handsome and I said this is a winner! I had to have it! Chypre scents are so mysterious and intriguing to the senses. It reminds me of how it smells when I enter Saks 5th Ave!

I have the new imari which this smells nothing like, but I never smelled the old one. This smells like your Average black currant iris cocktail, nothing more nothing less. My daughter picked this one out but its a hard pass for me
Update: this perfume is just gross.

Received a sample from Tocca after ordering some of their laundry delicate (Giulietta) but this fragrance smells and or reminds me so much of Avon Imari, my mother wore this fragrance the entire time I was in high school and upon first whiff of the Tocca it took me right back to being a teen. Can’t say this is a scent for me I get a lot of the oakmoss, sandlewood and violet with a hint of patchouli. And this fragrance has even managed to give me the same slight headache the Avon Imari use to give me if I sat and had to smell it for too long, lol. But if you’re someone who loves deep rich scents with a side punch of florals I would recommend this fragrance to you.

I love the Toccas, and I love Chypres. Maya looked so good based on the notes, but it’s a disappointment to me.
Maya is mostly sweet berry mixed with jasmine. I didn’t get much of the iris or any of the oakmoss. The dry-down is hard to smell because the fragrance has very little longevity and zero projection.
Maya isn’t a chypre at all, it’s more of a fruity floral and not a great one.

Maya is pleasant enough, but out of all the Tocca fragrances, this is probably the least interesting. The opening has a lot of black currant and a bit of weak patchouli. I don’t get much iris, or rose, but I definitely detect more jasmine after a few minutes, with a slight bit of….powdery iris? But to all my fellow iris lovers out there, this is not an iris fragrance. The “powderiness” is generic and for all know, it’s coming from the rose. After a hour or so, the fragrance smells best. The jasmine mixed with the black currant and a bit of oakmoss makes it a lovely, and slightly sweet, skin scent – which is what I think this fragrance is best used for because it is WEAK. I was really disappointed with how little this projected and I wonder if that is why I find it so difficult to smell any nuance in this fragrance.
As much as I love Tocca, this one was a letdown. The best part about it is the bottle – it is the most stunning of them all with the deep purple (tapering down, inside a lovely vibrant purple sleeved box. Unfortunately though, the bottle is more of a star than the fragrance inside.

I would love to try this one! It looks amazing on the notes but i dont like what they did with the bottle, i love how tocca’s bottles are designed and i think their beautiful bottles are a part of the whole experience with this brand! (Hope the other perfumes still looks the same as they always did) the ombre effect and that the sticker is the same color as the purple on the bottle (it makes it disappear) makes it look a bit cheap/tacky in my opinion, but maybe it looks better in real life:-)
