Very strong and very nauseating. Will only appeal to a select few. Unfortunately, because is so pungent, many will think you’re wearing a very very cheap pharmacy fragrance that stands on the shelves and not behind the counters

very close to Deauville P.H. and Jaipur Homme by Boucheron

Today I give an apply of it and yes it is fantastic.warm dry spices like cinnamon, cardamom and flowery notes make it a nice fascinating scet.powdery accord of flower really play nice in coldness.
It’s well balanced and not harsh.cardamom cinnamon nutmeg iris vanilla are obviously glittering .

    Quite unisex to me
If you enjoy scents like kenzo elephant and musky arab scents, i suggest you try this.
Really gorgeous and warming in winter.

I really enjoyed this cinnamon, vanilla spice bomb. It’s loud right from the start, but just has a pleasant overall scent to it. Considered a cheapie nowadays, but I just purchased two bottles off fragrancex for $21 and free ship, (March 2017)

3-4 years ago I read some very unfavourable reviews about Zero Plus Masculine. When you are reading a lot around fragrance forums you eventually find some members whose taste are similar to yours, and that can lead to exciting new discoveries. Some people whose opinions I respect said that this was a horrible stench, but Plus Plus was nice. I had time so I smelled both in the drugstore, and while I didn’t care for Plus Plus, I had a big surprise with this one: it was a lovely creamy oriental on me.
Fast forward these 3-4 years, and I smelled it again, a whole lot more experienced. I still like it but now I understand the dislikes, as it is synthetic and a bit screechy. It is very similar to 80’s style oriental female frags. A huge does of ruthless cinnamon (I love it) on a bed of soft creamy powder. Synthetic and not the best material, but the idea is very good and it works. Those who like the female Orientals of the ’70-80s might enjoy this one too.
I found a very good layering companion for this: pairing with Opium Pour Homme takes away all the harshness and gives an awesome mix! It may smell dated if you care about age-related aspects, but it becomes smooth and refined.

Diesel’s fragrances have a very youthful strangeness to them that I find kind of endearing. This is not a great fragrance, in fact for the first couple years of owning this bottle I found this hilariously awful. I found the presentation gaudy and cheap and the fragrance, outlandishly brash and synthetic. All of these things are still true about it, but it has grown on me in a very unique way.
The fragrance itself is essentially a cinnamon bomb (think Hallmark store or candle as opposed to something more edible) but theres a sort of synthetic milky-queasy floral base thats somehow distantly reminiscent of old spice but much more unisex with this (certainly detectable) rose and powder accord. Theres a synthetic vibe to the whole thing that feels almost like a primitivist CDG. In a way (and this might be a little bit of an over-exaggeration) it’s sort of accidentally avant garde, in the same way reading a child’s elementary school essay can occasionally have a lynchian, surreally nightmarish quality.
This can be had ridiculously cheap. And it is, undoubtably different. In a world full of Bleu de Chanel and Sauvage, hell, even Only the Brave, this is kind of an unpretentious breath of fresh air. Mind you, not a particularly pleasant batch of fresh air, but a scrappy one that is worth picking up and reaching for when you just feel bored of your go-to fragrances. I find cheap, weird scents more endearing than expensive, boring ones. Also, great for a high schooler who wants to smell like a gigantic-gaseous-cinnamon-floral-powder-holocaust.

I love it.Really Really fabulous fragrance.at last i succeded to find this gem after years in a shop full of discontinued and vintage perfumes.it start with cinnamon after short vanilla join the cinnamon then 10 min later a nice powdery accord appear and dominate the scent vanilla exist too and cinnamon weakly whisper.I didnt expect such abeautiful smell.it`s presentation is so cool its look like a syrup bottle.Diesel always pioneer of odd and extraordinary designs.

I always follow the 3 spray method, One spray each side of the neck and one on the wrist, then dab both wrist together. (Just in case you want to know how much i use)
The Top note is very sweet, as sweet as you possibly want a mans Eau De Toilette to be. Initially you get lots of sweet Cinnamon with hints of rose, this then settles down after 10-15 minutes. The cinnamon subsides slightly and you are greeted by a warm yet musky-orange note which is where this fragrance stays for a period of an hour or two. Eventually i was left with a subtle return of the cinnamon note, vanilla and Bergamot for the remaining period.
Sillage for me was only 2-3 feet so this won’t dominate the room you are in, Longevity wise this fragrance lasts around 6-8 hours on my skin after which it can only be detected if you smell your skin directly.
I believe this scent is a winter fragrance best worn at night, it’s definitely what i would call a “playful” fragrance. It’s strong, especially for the first 15 minutes and possibly too sweet for wearing at work.
As for the presentation, it comes in a bright red opaque spray bottle (being opaque means the liquid is naturally protected from sunlight so the liquid inside won’t degrade) and it has a good quality atomiser!!
Verdict: I feel this fragrance gets a bad rep, it’s definitely a love it or hate it scent and it reminds me of friends that use to wear this back in the day at school.
It’s relatively cheap and easy to come by and is pleasant enough to wear, i can certainly see this being used as a clubbing scent or possibly even on a date but it’s not a compliment magnet. I see this as a good all rounder in the under £20($30) category. RATING 3/5

Did not like. I was looking for a nice cinnamon scent and this is too synthetic. Sure, there’s cinnamon alright, but it’s not the kind of cinnamon I prefer. The cinnamon in Zero Plus Masculine is candy sweet. I have no idea why the word “masculine” is in this fragrance. It’s 100% girly.

It reminded me of the good old school days when wearing outrageous scents means you were cool.
I used to have a bottle of this and I enjoyed the cinnamon and the very sweet body if it was used as a room spray, since one pump of this would take care of all the malodorous in a dorm. But I couldn’t wear it because it was way too heavy and made me nauseate.
I would not get another bottle again, but it brings back memories by just looking at the picture.

I picked this up the other day at TJMaxx for $14.99….I read that it had a heavy cinnamon note so I had to try it out. I’m planning on returning it though. It’s all of the things listed above: spicy, warm, powdery, etc…BUT…it’s not “fresh”. It’s a very soft and subdued scent. It’s very, very powdery. There is a lot of cinnamon and spice. These are all reasons for me to love this…and by the way….it’s definitely unisex, for those wondering. I’m not keeping this one though because, ultimately, it makes me feel sad. It has a very melancholy vibe about it. I’m sure it’s just personal associations but I can’t keep a perfume around that makes me feel depressed. Not unless it takes me to a place that I need to revisit occasionally…it doesn’t. There’s something else that I don’t like about it. It feels flat. Like a soda without the fizz….it feels like it’s missing something….I don’t know…maybe a thicker dose of amber or vanilla or maybe more bergamot. Something though…it needs something more to make me fall in love. There’s no development on my skin…..same from start to fade. I have two other perfumes in my collection that come close to this one…or give me a similar feeling. Rose Noire by Giorgio Valenti. Rose Noire is more floral, of course but has that similar dusty, ancient feeling to it…I like it more though. Also….Curve Crush for women. I actually really love that one and it reminds of Zero Plus ( <–unattractive name…btw ) in a small way. Crush has a powdery, dusty, spicy, vintage vibe but it has so much more. As I type, a thought just popped up….I think Zero plus could really benefit from some greens as well….it needs something to bring it alive. All that being said, on a different skin chemistry, this could possibly smell delicious….maybe it’s you. I know it’s not me.

It’s very sweet and girly, not my type of scent. Anyway it’s long lasting and smells good. After 12 hours it is still on my skin but as a second skin and smells like JPG le male.

    Ok,
    I had this as a gift ,
1st impression %100 cinnamon and Musk,so if you don’t like the CINNAMON SMELL, forget about it.
It last long and it has high sillage .
    Generally It’s a BOLD fragrance.
It’s good,i liked it, it’s different taste, natural sprays.
Simply, if you like the natural sprays type of fragrances you’ll like it.

I like this fragrance. The reason I like it cause it’s spicy and this has like 3 different spice notes in it including Cinnamon(which among my favorite of the spices). The “Anise” note is in this one, and it can be considered a spice if the seeds are used(they use them to flavor Licorice candy).
This may smell a little synthetic to some people. It almost reminds me of “Old Spice” which to some people is “dated” and think only old men wear now. I still like “Old Spice” but not enough to buy it anymore and I think this one is better and lasts longer. Another fragrance that resembles this one is “Jaipur” by Boucheron. That one is more classy than this one which smells about the same but it’s stronger plus I like it better.
Don’t let the bottle style or name be a hinderance to you from buying a bottle if you’ve tested a sample first. If you like spice fragrances especially those with “cinnamon” notes in them then I suggest you try this out.

  20. :

Don’t agree with the demonizing of this fragrance by recent reviewers who are exaggerating its demonic qualities. This is a cinnamon bomb with a lively dose of nutmeg, subtle florals and orange that seems befitting especially of Christmas. Yes, Christmas, especially to those of you who have lived in Spain where ripened oranges are the harbinger of the Christmas season and cinnamon and spice from Portugal by way of Indonesia, India and Malaysia made its way across the Castillian plains and mesa on the way to France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands and later became symbolic of Christmas in Central Europe and England in the 16th and 17th centuries.
This one isn’t as potent as many here are saying. What you get is a rather moderate projecting fragrance with 5-6 sprays that emits a synthetic but spicy essence dominated by cinnamon but giving room to its spicy friends to add color and tone to the overall accord. Nutmeg, vanilla and cardamom all make appearances along with the subtle florals, musk and patchouli but none of them ever come close to dethroning the all-powerful cinnamon accord.
Not a very versatile wear given its limited wear-ability beyond Christmas time, but as a Christmas fragrance this can’t be equaled on the designer market and only recent niche releases have surpassed it in capturing some sort of essence of the mythological “Christmas accord”.

very heavy cinnamon opening.i don’t like it in the opening,it’s quite nauseating.in my opinion this fragrance it’s all about it’s drydown.there is something you can appreciate of this frag.Moderate sillage and longevity.don’t blind buy it as me 🙂

Just received this after blind shopping online. I agree with most reviewers who have given it a thumbs down. It smells, to my nose, like talcum powder, albeit like the ones found in roadside barbershops. I find it too synthetic, with no sign of vanilla which is listed.
A poor reminder of Jaipur by Boucheron.
Luckily, the projection and longevity are average, so I could possibly get away with using this to office.
Just OK in my opinion. The packaging is eye catching, though.
    EDIT ON 27 SEP 2014
Ok. So I’ve been using this for a nearly month now. I guess I need to retract some part of my previous review.
It’s fall here in India now, and this perfume somehow seems suited to this weather. Longevity and projection seem better, albeit with liberal spraying.
Also, I’m finding some very light traces of civet and honey (though it’s almost ‘now you see it now you don’t’ mode), like a
miniscule percentage of Kouros. I accept it’s grown on me.
    Nice for the price.

If you like a dry cinnamon, powdery scent, I’d give this one a try. An inoffensive, errand running, workplace scent. The sillage isn’t terrible, so you can be a bit heavy handed and not worry about offending anyone. I put this on about 8-9hrs ago and I can still smell it faintly, but I do tend to re-apply after a few moments to sort of help it out. It’s a skinscent on my arms, but I’m sure I’ve probably rubbed it off. The drydown is a nice, simple vanilla. For about 13.00 on Amazon, I’d say it was a good purchase. Don’t know how it will fare in warmer weather though.

Take a bowl of powder, sprinkle it with cinnamon, add some nice light woody tones and this fragrance it what you get.
This smells “Festive” slightly gourmand to my nose, but still masculine all the while. It’s most definitley wintery due to the amount of cinnamon that’s in it.
The powder tempers down the actual spiciness and this is overall a soft smelling fragrance. I find it interesting but only really reach for it on rare occasions.
Very affordable here in the UK and quite a nice addition to my collection.
    🙂

( Instructions on ) How to build a Bomb !!
If you can stick a few rose petals into a balloon; then fill the rest of it with Johnson’s Baby Powder, and (most of all) a ton of dry cinnamon (ground so fine that it can easily be sucked up by air, through someone’s nose, and straight into their sinuses). You then, POP that balloon two inches in front of that someone’s face ?
That person, would have just experienced…
    DIESEL. Zero. Plus. Masculine !!
( Luv this one. I always wear this when I’m dragged to a party I don’t wanna go to! Does that answer your question, SDavis93 ?) LOL

This is a cheap, harsh, synthetic cinnamon scent gave me a head ache. can’t understand when, where or what occasion you would wear this. its nauseating, very very long lasting if you have a sensitive nose do not buy this! -1/10

  35. :

    5 out of 5

Upon applying, it stung me like a fist. It is quite heavy and can easily cause headaches. The cinnamon stands out most but enough for the nutmeg, cadamon and vanilla to have their say too.
It certainly holds out for its price compared to the other cheapies.
This is a spice bomb, not for the faint hearted and I’d recommend the curious souls to try it before blind buying it.

came across this today in my chemist. I told the lady i was familiar with all the usuals like le male, aqua di gio ect and wanted something different, She suggested this one to me. I have to say for a cheapy it is nicer than most of the other crap I have tried. I get a sweetish masculine cinnomin smell. I don’t think it’s that bad at all. Just gotta go light on the trigger. I can also get away with this because where i live I dont think the guys even know what cologne is, which is better for me because i can wear just about anything and the ladies will give me compliments

  37. :

    3 out of 5

Very strong and heavy, spicy and sweet, very good and bad.Bad if you go crazzy on the trigger(there’s a thin line between sane and crazzy with this one),more than three sprays would be too much.It is more enjoyable in moderation, count with me now,1 2 3,not more than that!

  38. :

    4 out of 5

First of all, this is one of my all-time favorite fragrances that has been in constant rotation in my fragrance collection for the past 13 years (this fragrance was introduced in 2000, not 2003…I know because I bought a bottle when it was first introduced). I love it when it I first spray it on, and I love it after the dry-down. I don’t really “get” the cinnamon note…interestingly enough, on my skin, it smells like vanilla and sandalwood. It doesn’t last very long on my skin, but to me it’s a very “cozy” fragrance that I wear for my own personal enjoyment. Not many guys wear it so I like it as an old, personal favorite.

  39. :

    5 out of 5

I didn’t like it. The only thing i can sense in it, is cinnamon. Heavy strong cinnamon. It last a lot on my skin, and have a great projection, unfortunately it is not for me.

  40. :

    5 out of 5

It’s cheap, lasts a long time, great silage, unique and smells great. On me, I can smell: white musk, spices, rose and it’s very well blended too! Simply one of the best inexpensive scents on the market. This smells expensive and I love it!

  41. :

    5 out of 5

Tried a tester at Wilkinson and I have to say I didn’t really like it, it smells just like Old Spice Original but much more sharp Cinnamon which I found was a bit too strong. If your a Cinnamon lover this is the one for you.

@Asylumin This isnt a replacement for Boss Bottled Night , and Boss Bottled Night is not ” a shit ” , allthough i guess that is personal preference , this frag smells like a modern synthetic old spice and yes , if you like this scent – it is good value

  43. :

It has a really good price-value.
For example the Hugo Boss Bottled Night costs twice as this, and that frag is a shit.
This is like a much more expensive fragrance.
    Give it a try

  46. :

Ok I know I,m too old to use this stuff and maybe that wears down to the design of the bottle. The smell itselfe feels ageless. But what do you do when you get a bottle as a present and you feel that you cant give it away because the person that gave it to you will notice that it has dissapered? You use it of course.
Well…. no one will recognize this scent over here in Sweden so I have got away with it and as I said; it is somewhat ageless in its character. Zero plus has some rather good properties. It smells warm and nice in a fresh and not too heavy way. It has good projection without being a screamer and it wont leave you after just a couple of hours. It stays FOREVER.
The smell itselfe is pleasent. It is cinnamon that runs the show. I can also feel the nutmeg and some flowers but everything is drenched in cinnamon. Unfortunately the cinnamon is coming out in a very synthetic way. I saw that someone earlier had written that it smelled like a womans lipstick and that is so true. The lipstick smell is more prominent if I wear the scent in a warm place like inside a warm hous and during summer it is impossible to use. But! This scent gets amazing when you where it outside when it is realy realy cold. The strong cinnamon and the lipsticsmell gets weaker and more of the underlying choier of scentnotes get through and makes this a wonderful blend of spices, flowers and wood. Great for a nice long walk in cold winterweather. The reaction of the scent in extream cold is a new and great discovery for me so instead of having this bottle staying hidden amongst my other “not that happy about it”-perfumes this one has got a more prominent place now.

Really inexpensive but doesn’t smell like it. I am pleasantly surprised by this little gem. A soapy, musky, spicy and floral oriental which, I think, is quite unique! There isn’t a lot of cinnamon that I can smell on me, but I can smell the rose and musk distinctly. Longevity is good and it has excellent sillage. A lovely inexpensive scent with a lot of character. Love it to bits – gonna get more!

This Diesel smells like a condom dipped beforehand in a sack of ground cinnamon. Terrible!
I’m tempted to give it a “zero”, but, to be fair, I have to say it deserves 1.68/10. 😉

  52. :

    4 out of 5

Well, I expected a lot from this fragrance, as prior to buying I checked the reviews here (I loove cinnamon). It turns out that the notes I get are only an undistinguishable harmless overall perfumey feeling which reminded me of something … wait, it’s Old Spice indeed, I mean better than that. I don’t get clear tonka and cinnamon, but a safe warmish musk scent. Could be used by both sexes, as I do not see anything masculine in this, in fact I am keeping the bottle for my boy. You know boys usually wear evident musk scents at school but this one is different: long projection and a pleasant clean feeling – I definitely recommend it for the young boys or girls.

  53. :

Now this is value for money… I sprayed it on this morning at 7 AM, we are now 9.30 PM, in the meantime I sprayed on some YR Hoggar to enjoy the evening, and it’s still projecting! Wonderful mix with the sweet tonka bean Hoggar smell by the way.
In the opening it’s a fantastic blend of cinnamon and orange, and the heart is warm. It’s a mind calming scent to me. I love the stuff!
Oh, the packaging is great too!

How come Diesel doesnt show the nose behind their scents?

  56. :

    3 out of 5

Cautiously tried half a spray after reading some other reviews. Cinnamon is dominant and pleasant but the opening blend of the other spices smells bad to me, cannot put my finger on the exact note. The cinnamon stays throughout and the drydown is actually quite pleasant and sweet. Projection was ok, even with half a spray. Cannot comment on the longevity. I do not recommend it. Please try before you buy.

WHAT A LOVELY PERFUME. (make me remember my dear OLD SPICE)
Every time i go at my perfume store i look at this and say. never me with that, it look so rude and citrical. but last week i went as usual to buy a perfume the lady tell me, have you ever use DIESEL ZERO PLUS. y tell her my god nooo. she say why, thats a lovely perfume let me try it on you.
OMG I CAN’T BELIEVE WHAT I WAS SMELLING. cinnamon-rose. this is a YOUNG BOY OLD SPICE. can’t describe how happy i’m to get this perfume. really really love you DIESEL ZERO PLUS.

An ex of mine used to over use this. It smelt awful! Really cheap smelling and just urgh. It may work if you use one spray only, i just hate it when people practically bathe in perfume.

  59. :

Terrible. This is by far the most synthetic mess I’ve tried so far. It smells like paint fumes, and is probably just as unhealthy to inhale..

  60. :

Maybe I got a bottle which was in the sun too log, or too old or something, but I’m really disappointed with the smell. In my opinion there is nothing more than a sweet soapy aroma + a hint of Big Red’s cinnamon. Nothing special, really. And I was soooo loking forward into these cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg and cardamon notes.

I have some of the original formula from 2003 from a closeout store. It works really well in the cold of winter. Cinnamon is kicked up, yet there are other notes that make it complex and rich. The ingredients seem synthetic, especially the violet. This isnt really bad or surprising. Its a true oriental with lots of spices, recalling Boucheron Jaipur. It is like a harsh version of Habit Rouge.
I do pick up a little sandalwood at the base with lots of ambery vanilla. The vanilla is rich giving it a candy like appeal.
The only real problem I found with it is the bottle. The design is clever, yet my spayer leaked and caused the red label to erode. The bottom says made in the EU. I cannot tell how much is left. Its strange that it was reformulated rather quickly.
Update 05/04/13 The tree is identical to Old Spice with rose substituted for carnation. Turn up the cinnamon and you get this “new spice” wonder. Its a sublime and now forgotten oriental masterpiece.

This is a great fragrance if you enjoy Cinnamon. I wear this mostly through December for the holidays or when Im in the mood for spicy. It lasts long and projection is well. Its a great price and you can find this easily around 11.99-24.99 the lowest ive seen this is at 9.99. Diesel Plus Plus is not better then this. I bought Plus Plus for 10 bucks in china town in NY lol when I was a teen. It smelled good at the time but ive grown out of these smells. I prefer more luxury, independent and fragrances from fashion houses. But sometimes I do occasionally buy these value fragrances that are classic and last long for day wear or casual wear (like: Joop, Grey Flannel, Calvin Klein Truth, Paco Robanne, Calvin Klein Euphoria Intense, Bowling Green, Diesel Zero Plus, Tommy Bahama) to not use up my top-notch fragrances everyday or grow tired of.

Sure it’s cheap and rather synthetic-smelling, but after acquiring a vintage bottle of Samsara EDP, it just sort of occurred to me that this is somewhat similar. I know it doesn’t really share the same scent pyramid and certainly doesn’t share the same pedigree or DNA, but it’s as if the wearer has applied some Samsara several hours ago and is chewing a few pieces of the cinnamon-scented “Big Red” chewing gum while holding a balloon.
Maybe a better analogy, and one that I’ll paraphrase and have seen before, would be – popping a balloon filled with powder, cinnamon candy and some Samsara. There’s a rather latex-like quality to this that somehow appeals to me. Weird, I know – but fragrance impressions are all very subjective 😉

After trying this a couple times, I can see why it’s been discontinued. This smells like a poor mans Burberry London and Chanel Allure. I generally enjoy powdery and/or spicy fragrances but this stuff is too over the top for me. The best way I can describe this scent is imagine if someone grabbed a handful a cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, then smacked you in the face!
It’s just a huge spicy, powdery, cinnamony mess and actually, I’ve never experienced a fragrance making me sneeze ever but this one manged to do so. Although many people seem to enjoy this scent, I find it cloying and too darn spicy. My throat actually stings when I sniff this. Oh, and in terms of longevity and sillage, this is probably the best of the best, but it’s too bad I don’t enjoy it!

The first fragrance I ever owned, I had this and polo blue and even then I chose polo blue over this for night-time or dates and got alot of compliments for it! The only few times I wore this one of my friends said “who smells like candy hooker?” =/. Very strong definitely not a daytime frag, im not sure really when the occasion is to wear it, still have half a bottle from 2000

While I like spicy fragrances this is very one dimensional. A huge blast of fresh cinnamon that lingers for a long while. While I have this and like to occasionally wear it I must say it is a little brash and youthful. More early 20’s single bar hopper than 40 something professional. There’s a place for this but for me it is increasingly rare that I reach for it over more grown up scents in my collection.

If you love cinnamon, this scent is for you, no matter if you’re a boy or a girl! I also hardly get anything else than cinnamon from it, and it is a very dry, powder cinnamon in large quantity, which dries down with a bit of woodsy notes. Absolutely a unisex fragrance, at a really affordable price (pity it’s been discontinued though), especially that it is quite long lasting (and very long lasting on clothes), but stays rather close to the skin. I know 0+ for women which was much sweeter and less “dry” than this one, but I think I prefer the masculine version. Great for colder days!

Too “synthetic” for me for the first hour or so, then it’s a great cinnamon and heliotrope dominated fragrance. For those who like the idea but not the execution, try Jaipur Homme, which I think has stronger heliotrope and weaker cinnamon, but is more “natural” smelling overall. There are also two formulations of it, EdT and EdP, so if you don’t like one you can try the other. As for this Diesel one, I’m not sure why they couldn’t make it smell more natural. Would it have cost that much more to do it? The drydown is a bit weak, especially relative to the first hour, which again makes me ask why this was done. Was the perfumer a beginner? Anyway, the price right now is great, so if the “flaws” don’t bother you, this might be an excellent fragrance to grab while it’s still super cheap.

Besides the name and bottle design there are hardly any similarities between this and Plus Plus. It’s definitely a fragrance for the colder days, with it’s nutmeg and cinamon. Pretty heavy and pretty strong, so be carefull when you apply this!
Although it’s discontinued you can still find it here and there (at least in Holland). I won’t look for it again though, this one’s a bit too much for me. Value for money though!

The first fragrance i owned, so i will always love it. It’s not that sophisticated, but whenever i get a whiff i feel happy.
Amazing lasting power and gets heaps of compliments.

Dry, woody, faintly metallic from the nutmeg, dusty from the spices, heavy on the cinammon, with an earthy base from the patchouli & faintest aroma of bitter peel & sue
