Kenvigepise – :
The package is a kind of misleading, I expected to find a starlet inside the bottle instead of a star. I’ve got the only one explanation of the bottle image: Ella Mikao is trying to present the classic scent essence with a modern twist, in the way that would be interesting for the young.
The opening is a little bit arrogant but mature and elegant, it instantly reminds of many classic perfumes. I imagine it on an independent woman who is bright, distant like a star and it is not just a cliché, the perfume does express that kind of feeling, though the scent is getting warmer and more gentle later on. The fragrance is neither light nor innocent. I tend to put down that impression to the resin.
This floral composition is built around a strong resineous note, that is most likely formed by two ingredients: elemi resin and benzoin (elemi is one of the middle notes and benzoin is in the base). For about 1-2 hours it sounds bright enough (but not overpowering), then it gets closer to the skin with spicy woody accord in the drydown. By the way, its base sounds similar to Amarige Marriage, as they have patchouli, sandalwood and benzoin in common.
So, despite the fact that Ella Mikao’s scents are always at the far side of the shops here, I think they are worth trying, I had Yujin Feroce in the past and my conclusion is some of her scents could be interesting and have fair price/quality ratio.
