The popular Italian brand known for luxurious lingerie La Perla expands their perfume collection this year with a trilogy inspired by flowers. The La Perla Private Collection includes the following fragrances: Lotus Shadow, Contemporary Tuberose and White Iris composed to highlight key ingredients: lotus flower, tuberose and elegant iris. The fragrances are available as EDP, in flacons of 100 ml Eau de Parfum.
WHITE IRIS seduces us with powdery floral shades. The top notes combine sparkling bergamot with violets and jasmine, followed by warm and vanilla-like heliotrope orris and almonds in the heart. The base closes with tonka, vanilla and warm, golden ambrox.
White Iris was launched in 2015.

I had a wonderful surprise a few days ago when a dear friend arrived from London with a bag of goodies from the big stores! Amongst others was this little gem…White Iris. Easy to love with more in it than first meets the eye, is how it could be described. It goes on with a brief shot of alcohol but it dissipates almost before one blinks, becoming slightly sweet, with the jasmine and violet, I imagine, and a little powdery.
Very soon, the powder also disappears and the beautiful, cool, creamy iris waltzes in. She is a “socially acceptable” iris, capable of appealing to the ordinary fragrance lover as well as the iris connoisseur, I feel. She has the depth and coolness of a true iris, buttery and gorgeous, but there is somehow a background of dancing notes, perhaps the vanilla, which do not detract from but add to the beauty of the iris, while at the same time rendering it comfortable to wear.
I am still aware of the fragrance after 5 hours, and it is slightly more than a skin scent then. At first spray the projection would be a little more than arm’s length. As it progresses, the vanilla and iris become more equal partners in the dance, and are both clearly noticeable in the drydown. To get the full beauty of the fragrance, I resprayed halfway through the day, on my neck only. This made me more aware of the vanilla, whereas the perfume on my arm was still the cool iris.
This is gorgeous. I have been smiling, and sniffing, all day. Such a “wearable” iris. I love, and have, many iris perfumes. Some, like the Prada infusions, are easy to wear. Some require the right occasion, either a day at home or a “posh frock” do… This little White Iris will go anywhere, and I will love having her with me.
