To me this smells EXACTLY like Always dailies scented panty liners. The ones available to purchase in the UK.
(This statement is not intended as an insult! This is a genuine observation!)
So, if you prefer to “try before you buy”, go ahead and sniff some Always dailies scented panty liners. If you like the scent, you’re sure to enjoy White Gardenia by The Body Shop!

I keep hearing about ‘buttery gardenias’ but I would say this fragrance is a ‘sparkly gardenia’ if that makes any sense?
It also has that edge to it that jasmine frags have too (indolic?).
The bottle cap is cool! At first I thought there was no cap or nowhere for the perfume to come out of even, but it’s because the cap is a very sleek metallic thing that fits smoothly and exactly over the nozzle.
I have a 50ml bottle of this in my possession but I’m not really a ‘floral’ gal so this is up for UK swap as per my recent post in the ‘Exchange’ thread.

    I just got body mist.
And now i know, I love the scent of gardenia!
This is clean, pure floral scent.
Its just a little bit musky and i don’t feel realy anything else 🙂 So I’m glad.
But mist like mist…. don’t stay on skin for a long time.
    Two hours and it’s gone.
But for price 4,99 propably I will buy another one.
But yes, I LOVE this scent!

White Gardenia is very old smelling. It’s a pretty heavy floral and is very musky.

I like this. It’s a fresh, clean gardenia scent. It is a white floral that isn’t heavy/overpowering. The staying power is great especially if used with the body butter. I normally don’t like scented lotions but if you dab a bit of it where you spray the fragrance only it stays a long time. I’m impressed with this as well as the price. This isn’t “old lady” at all and the body shop has another great floral scent Moroccan rose. Well worth the money:)

I found this scent a very fresh and clean white floral fragrance, close to jasmine but softer, with a cucumber/melon-like aura. It isn’t too strong, not to complicated, and not too expensive.

This is quite nice but not extraordinary. It has quite an alcoholic start and flies away soon too, but if you are looking for an inexpensive and simple, gentle white gardenia scent, this is an option.

A thin and delicate gardenia after summer rain in the evening, just simple and fresh.
TBS and Liz Taylor gardenia own same smelling and Liz is richer, more complex and beautiful.

Pushing the constricted boundaries of my gardenia knowledge even further, and availing myself of my remaining free ankle, I decided to try out my new bottle of The Body Shop WHITE GARDENIA, a recent blind buy now on clearance for all of $7.
Compared to the GARDENIA of Penhaligon or Chanel, and also MARC JACOBS, TBS WHITE GARDENIA actually smells like a fruity floral to me. I do smell gardenia, but I also smell the nearly ubiquitous fruity-floral aura so frequently found in mass-marketed perfumes for people who in their modesty and humility don fragrance solely in order “to smell good”.
I do not know why, at least based on the notes, WHITE GARDENIA smells like a fruity floral. Is lotus sweet? It certainly appears that some unnamed mystery fruits may be included along with the bergamot–a red berry or two, perhaps?
WHITE GARDENIA is an acceptable fruity white floral, but for gardenias I still prefer MARC JACOBS. I also like KAI. But it’s nice that we have so many choices, n’est-ce pas? Who knows, perhaps one day in the future it will be possible to earn a Ph.D. in the phenomenologically olfactory study of gardenia.
