Description

In 2018, Dior introduces the new edition of Dior Sauvage, originally launched in 2015, in an Eau de Parfum interpretation. Dior‘s in-house perfumer François Demachy imagines the Eau de Parfum as revealing new facets of Sauvage. The composition with oriental and vanilla facets is described as enveloping, suave, mysterious and sensual.

he composition keeps some of the notes from the original, like bergamot, Sichuan pepper, lavender and ambroxan and enriches them with spices and warm, oriental tones of star anise, nutmeg and papua vanilla.

The new ad campaign also features actor Johnny Depp as the face. The fragrance is available as a 60 and a 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

The nose behind this fragrance is Francois Demachy.

Perhaps I oughtn’t bother commenting if I haven’t anything positive to contribute, as mother would say, but if anything I am merely perplexed and confounded at the popularity of this (or the EDT, for that matter). I’ve had a sample vial for Spring, Summer, & now Autumn, have smelt it on others, and try as I might, I just don’t get it.
Softly sweet-spicey and mildly… sour/plastic(?) like to my nose. Something akin to freshening one’s self with baby wipes on a hot, humid day after getting into an automobile that’s been sat under the direct sun for hours in a car park… those used, warmed baby wipes, in that suffocating moment… that’s the impression I get from this.
At the risk of offending fans, may I add I’d expect to find this at Zara for a tenner (which would be fine, except it retails for £80+) – it has that precariously close to headache inducing something to it.
Truly a mystery. I don’t want to smell like this. Nor do I enjoy it on others.
I can only conclude that it is a pity, considering how refreshingly solid & lovely – even hope inspiring, might I say – 2012’s Eau Sauvage Parfum was (2017’s is not worth mentioning), that Dior should then take the Sauvage name down this path.
Then again, in view of the recent utterly uninspiring JOY release (it occurs to me that BLAH would have been a more appropriate moniker), it would seem Parfums Christian Dior has well & truly lost the plot.
But alas, my “scents” obviously don’t make sales.
Never mind. I’m perfectly contented to be contemporarily unpopular.
    Zero stars from me.

I get so jealous when my Cousin wears this one whenever we go out to get them chicks , I lose my confidence, I make sure I wear a fragrance that closely matches this standard of quality and projection like Pure Tonka before I go out with him. I’m definitely getting one too. A nice Fragrance for a confident man!!

The fragrance contains the DNA of the Sauvage (2015) but is much more persistent. The star anise and sichuan pepper enhance the qualities of the fragrance making it more sexy and spicy. Vanilla and ambroxan eventually form a mystical and sensual marriage. He beats the 2015 version in a nutshell and enters my wardrobe among my favorites. I suddenly find myself in the role of a Pirate with a rebel and wild heart that steals spices from the natives around Panama. There is a calm and very warm sea even though there is a strong fresh wind. This perfume is for real bohèmien (like myself). Colossal work that will rewrite the history of the aforementioned Maison. I hope that Dior will keep it until the end of my days because without him I would suffer very much. Well done Demachy!
A color for this perfume: Blue Night. A state of mind: Rebel. An artist: The great Jackson Pollock. Suitable for all seasons!
    RATING: 10/10
    Among my favorites!

A more attractive and appealing version of the EDT. The main difference is that this one is a bit spicier and sweeter; this gives a very smooth quality to it.
Definently a winner for me. It’s better than the edt

Finished about 5 sample pack of the EDT version and can’t seem to love it.
The EDP on the other hand warrant a full bottle purchase not because I come to love it but a 40% discount on the 100ml bottle at my local Sephora.
Still a good scent that gives me plenty of compliments and last 8-9 hours on my skin.

If you are living in a country which has summer all year around, then do not get this. Get the EDT version. This is not the same fragrance as EDT.

if it aint broke dont fix it. Edt has way better projection. i Won’t say more.
This doesn’t less hit you in the face. Does’t fill a room after hours like edt. It’s basically for you to smell yourself good for around an hour. Im confused.

30s and above?? For a loud, contemporary bergamot/ambroxan bomb?? And you’re calling people schizophrenic?
    Whatever you reckon buddy

    1. Beautiful scent
    2. Long lasting with a excellent projection
    3. Versatile
    4. Girls love it
I compare it to the last batch of creed aventus , dior sauvage edp perform better than 400 $ new batch 100 ml of creed aventus
    So what you need more

The people who hate this EDP version saying that is smells the same as the EDT must have schizophrenia and is probably a male in his 40s trying to be young and cool like a 21 year old that drives a BMW convertible.
If you are a gentleman in your 30s and above, buy the EDP version.
If you are a man-child trapped in a 40 year old body, stay away from this.

I’m so disapointed in the performance of this fragrance. I’ve lost all faith in fragrances. Maybe one day far in the future they show us respect again. With the rising costs of fragrances this is the last bottle I buy for a really long time.

This fragrance really shines in the opening. It has ferocious projection and fills up a room for about 45 minutes but then falls fast ending up a weak scent. It’s better than the original but only in the richness of the opening but it still sucks considering it’s supposed to be a banger and it’s not. Hopefully you already know what it smells like if your reading this.

I do not really get why people hate this fragrance. Is it because it is so popular? Is it from the hate that people had for the guy in high school that gets all the girls? Because this is what Sauvage does. It pleases girls and it is damn good at it. Bleu de Chanel is equally, if not more popular, but it does not get the hate. Sauvage smells a bit synthetic, yes. But it gives you this fresh feeling that lasts almost the entire day. What is so bad about that?
Out of my 30+ fragrance collection, my girlfriend likes this one the most. To my experience, the people around me seem to love this as well, as I often get compliments and people asking me what I am wearing. I guess it is not popular enough for people to actually know the name of the fragrance.
It lasts and lasts and lasts. I sprayed this on, when it was 32C/90F outside and went out swimming. After 6 hours of sweating my ass off and around 1.5 hours of swimming/being in the water, I could still smell it when I was walking home. What more do you need?
Maybe 75% of fragcomm hates this, but the remaining 99.99% of the world will either like or love this scent. So I will gladly wear it.
Scent: 8/10 (my opinion) 10/10 (most women’s opinion)
Projection: 9/10 (I get around three hours of heavy projection).
    Sillage: 10/10
Longevity: 10/10 (12h+ on skin. Never sprayed it on clothes, because 12h is perfect for me)
    Versatility 9/10
Uniqueness: 9/10 (Even though it has the performance and ‘sweetness’ for colder days, I still consider the EdP a freshie. I will wear this in spring/summer)
Price-performance: 7/10 (Because this one and the EdT are very similar, I would advise the EdT when money is ‘an issue’. I ended up buying the 200ml EdT for €5 cheaper than my 100ml EdP bottle)
    Total: 8.75/10

Oh dear, I did it…I jumped (late) onto the bandwagon.
OK, sauvage is a nice frag il admit it, being that I was an avid fan of prada carbon I always snubbed sauvage because I felt it was basically a poorer version of Carbon.
To be fair though now I’ve actually given the EDT and the EDP proper testing, I do like the DNA that’s there. I definitely prefer the EDP over the EDT, the EDT has that plasticy pineapple tinge going on, the same one that strikes aventus after a couple minutes of development. So the EDP is the winner for me.
I have to say though dior have got their advertising spot on for sauvage, it portrays the whole dusky desert and cactus smelling freshness theme down to a tee and I don’t think they could of picked anyone better than Depp to suit that environment.
All in all, I still love the mettalic carbon which is where I think they go down different roads, carbon becomes much more industrial and sauvage goes more citrusey and open air smelling before they both meet up at the ambroxan festival. However, I think their both great doing their own thing.
    8.7/10

I see similarities between Dior Sauvage EDP and Bleu de Chanel EDP and Versace Dylan Blue.
Sauvage EDP is not what I accepted from the hype! I don’t see stronger performance than my Bleu de chanel EDP and IMO Sauvage EDP is between Bleu and Dylan and I prefer Bleu EDP.
I don’t have Sauvage EDT but EDP is not wow in performance, if you have Bleu de Chanel EDP so you don’t need this one.

It will come down to where do live and what occasion if you’re on the fence on buying the EDT or EDP version.
I’ll give myself as an example. I currently live in Manila, Philippines and if you’re not familiar with weather here, it’s a tropical country, very humid and hot. We only have 2 seasons, summer and rainy. Even during the rainy season it is still hot for me for since I’m used to the weather in San Francisco.
EDT, because of the heavier citrus from bergamot is more suitable for a tropical country which have longer summer it will not be too heavy because it doesn’t have the anise.
EDP, is heavier and sweeter because of the star anise than the EDT but not too much, I can only wear the EDP during night time and I know that I’ll be in an air conditioned place like a hotel/resort casino.
I can wear the EDP during daytime but I’ll only do 2-3 sprays max or else it will attract too much attention which is sometimes negative, unlike the EDT I can spray up to 6 because the bergamot blends very well with the heat of the tropical weather.
I’ll stick to the EDT, because it’s more versatile for my location and once I finish my EDP, I will not buy another one.

  17. :

    5 out of 5

The EDT and EDP are very similar.
A side-by-side test confirmed that they are indeed fairly different.
The EDT is more citrusy and the EDP has a darker (warm) side – This is due to the anise. The anise is 100% the biggest difference.
I prefer the EDT any day. The anise adds a layer of depth, but I feel like it forces the original to become something that it’s not.
Overall I like the EDP, but prefer the EDT.

  18. :

    3 out of 5

@ macca I agree with you in some ways but I personally find the EDT to be very poor on my skin. Dosent evolve at all and has really no scent identity. The EDP however smells clear and refreshing and actually lasts for a while…..yes I know it’s packed with ambroxan but I do find them to be slightly different because of skin chemistry.

  19. :

    3 out of 5

I will start off by saying that I love this stuff.
But… Come on guys, it smells almost completely identical to the EDT. People are going on about the differences like they’re night and day and some are even taking it as far as saying that they love one and hate the other. I honestly don’t think most people would be able to tell them apart blindfolded.
Don’t get me wrong, I love sauvage and the edp lasts slightly longer on me but saying they’re totally different is a bit silly and just seems to display how easily people can be primed by clever marketing

Not a fan of EDT not saying I hate it. Just wasn’t feeling it and I would try it again and again everytime I went to Dillard’s nothing changed. Enter EDP I didn’t try right away due to my experience with EDT. Recently found myself hovering the colognes again and the sale girl mentions Sauvage EDT I shake my head NO… what about EDP their different she says…
OK! I spray a scent strip… Ahhhhhh interesting OK I like the initial spray… I give myself my regular 5 spray route and thank the sales girl walking out to finish shopping.. an hour goes by and I’m enjoying it soft sweet no hard edges very clean go home and I still smell it later in the evening and I still like it. Next day I buy a bottle been wearing through out the week it handles the summer heat fantastic and I don’t seeing it failing in winter.
this is all occasion fragrance I wear it everywhere even to the gym nice Swiss army knife of a fragrance… If you’re not a fan EDT try EDP their different the tart is gone and it’s well rounded

    WOW !! WOW !! WOW !!
What made me not have this amazing fragrance for this long ?
The answer is I got it wrong , firstly I thought ok Sauvage is too much of a mainstream perfume , it smells off too many people and I want to smell different .
So I kept my hands off this hyped fragrance , but finally after smelling it off a friend a couple of days ago I decided to get one myself the same day .
Is it worth the hype ? HELL YEAH , it’s definitely worth it .
I don’t tend to write a review on here without giving it a good wearing for a couple of weeks but with this one I’m writing this after the second day of wearing .
Sauvage for me is one of the handful perfumes I’ve tried and got complimented on the first day of wearing , i had endless compliments with this one till about the 7 th hour mark . Ladies love this .
So the performance of this is immaculate if anyone wants to keep just one perfume only , this one is highly recommended .
Could be my signature fragrance easily if it was not too mainstream , I will use it seldomly for now until the hype train passes by and who knows with time this might not be the fragrance which you smell in 8 out of 10 perfume wearing men . If that day comes by this will definitely be my signature fragrance .
My final verdict is this stuff is simply AMAZING .

What a fresh spicy fragrance! Damn!
Ambroxan, bergamont and pepper is what you will smell the most out of this beast. Projection and longevity is great. The amount of freshness, masculinity you get out of this is splendid. There is a good reason why this is sold so heavily probably; it’s highly recommended everywhere since it’s so highly enjoyable. My wife totally loves this scent. It makes me a magnet to her 🙂
I was at macys sample different fragrances and was trying to decide between getting this and givenchy only absolute; ended up getting Dior EDP first. Dylan Blue smells quiet a bit like dior so if you are on a bit of a budget you can get that! I tested both the EDP and EDT. Very hard to tell the difference so I ended up with the EDP since I try to go with EDP fragrances in generally that tend to last more and project a bit better. I am not really sure why there is much hate against this fragrance but I guess it’s because many wear it and it becomes too common. Everyone’s nose is different anyway, so what may smell great to one person may smell bad to another.
Maybe next time I am at macys I will do a test again of the EDT and EDP on both my arms and see which one lasts longer/projects better.

What a wonderful fall or wintertime fragrance. Sauvage EDP is a creamy, vanilla and anise powerhouse. It is warm, exotic, and mysterious: the perfect accompaniment for a cold winter night with your special someone.
The fragrance is rich and absolutely beautiful. I consider it to be THE reference example for an oriental fougere. The longevity and projection are among the best I have ever experienced, easily on par with the similarly exceptional EDT. I get an easy 12-15 hours on my skin and days on my clothing.
Sauvage EDP is potent. It is a little sweet, so be careful not to over-apply it as it can easily become cloying and headache inducing if you overdo it. Three sprays are more than sufficient. Four if you will be outside. If you spray judiciously, you will be enveloped by a warm, spicy, intoxicating blanket of spiced vanilla and ambroxan that will last the entire day. This fragrance is a true masterpiece and a must for anyone looking for an exceptional men’s spicy oriental.

It smells like what you’d expect a male fragrance to smell. Doesn’t project much, lasts pretty long. It could easily fit for an everyday life of a working man. Not bad tbh, the smell is pleasant and clean.

“I didn’t create Sauvage Eau de Parfum by working on power. Its signature is already very identifiable. It was not a matter of exaggerating or saturating the composition. I was striving more to enrich each of the dominant notes to give it a new colour.”
    François Demachy, Dior Perfumer-Creator
    ____________________________________________________
I am glad that Sauvage Parfum is not just a more intense fragrance than the EDT version. It would just amplify what I consider to be the the Sauvage EDT defects: harshness in the opening and to much pepper in the head and heart notes.
Now in the top notes we have just a magnific Calabrian bergamot, as juicy and spirited as ever, without any harshness associated, and with a very natural fresh, floral and bittersweet scent. The hot, short-lived and earthy initial pepper from the EDT, just disappeared.
In the heart, to add fullness and sensuality, we are invited by different spicy accords from sichuan peper, spicy sweet nutmeg and an aromatic clean lavender enhancing the strong and liquorice star anise note.
At the bottom, we meet the Sauvage signature accord with the strong woody ambery trail of Ambroxan, wrapped in the smoky sweet accents of a masculin Papua New Guinean absolute vanilla.
A couple of weeks ago I have done something i never thought i would do: I purchased a new Dior Sauvage 100ml flask, Parfum edition of course!
When I bought the EDT two years ago, I disliked the overly peppery head and heart. They were just too harsh and unbalanced… not for me!
That EDT original Sauvage bottle is long gone. I ended up giving an almost full flask to my older nephew.
However…. After reading some reviews of the newly launched EDP, thought about trying it at a Sephora counter. I ended up buying a bottle. The strong pepper harshness has disappeared, and the “I am wearing Sauvage as everyone else” feeling is gone. This EDP is a smoother and more mature version of the familiar Sauvage scent. This is a much better fragrance than the EDT and if you – like me – dont like the loud and harsh original peppery EDT, now you can use a natural, alluring, versatile Sauvage scent. Of course this isn’t the most radical and complex of the scents, but everybody loves it! I have many other different fragrances if i want to use something something less common and more unique.
If you have the EDT version – and like it – you MAY want to buy this version as well. I don’t see them being redundant.
    ____________________________________________________
My rates for Dior Sauvage Parfum:
    – Scent opening: 8.75 (“mainstream” but very pleasant)
    – Scent drydown: 9.25 (nice “natural” notes of ambroxan and absolute vanilla)
    – Longevity: 8.0 (up to 8 hours with 3 sprays)
Sillage: 7.5 (up to 6 feet with 2 hours projection)
    – Versatility: 9.0 (almost any weather but mainly for Spring and Fall)
    – Wearability: 9.5 (“everybody like it” type of fragrance)
    – Compliments: 9.0 (copliments magnet)
    – Uniqueness: 8.0 (unique for the ingredients quality and natural smell; but similar to the EDT and its vast quantity of clones)
    – Quality: 9.5 (very natural high quality ingredients, nice solid heavy bottle, good spray and magnetic cap)
    – Presentation: 9.0 (preety nice, simple and elegant)
Price: 6.0 (helas not everything is good as this fragrance is overpriced; I rated a 6 just thinking in quality versus price;)
    – Average: 8.50 (I rated the EDT with 7.75/10.0)
    up to 5 = avoid it;
    between 5 and 6 = under average;
    between 6 and 7 = average;
    between 7 and 8 =above average;
    between 8 and 9 = recomended;
    bigger than 9 = don’t miss it;
    – Advice: If it fits your budget and you like the scent, just go ahead and buy it.

All I smell is Axe Phoenix body spray and baby wipes. It’s okay, but it’s not a scent I want to be known for.

A guy sat down next to me on the train, and I immediately smelled and recognized this. It was not pleasant. The ambroxan is so overwhelming and sickening. This is BARELY “shower fresh” or fresh at all. I’d say its more spicy and musky.
    A dislike from me..

For those who crave performance, meaning a strong projection and good longetivity and want a slight updated ‘shower fresh’ fragrance in the tradition of Cool Water.
    Cool Water?
Yep, to me Sauvage is the Cool Water of the present time. So similar in purpose and overall feel. They smell different of course, but strikingly similar as well, that non-descript fresh blue shower gel smell.
Both have a good projection, well at least on my skin they do and both last a long time on my skin. Scent-wise I think Cool Water has the better smell, although it is as synthetic as Sauvage, Cool Water still manages to smell relativitely more natural, with an old fashioned cologne still in its DNA. Sauvage smells completely like a shower gel, has said farewell to the classic cologne style. But Cool Water can get cloying, where it stalks you with freshness, whereas Sauvage keeps his projection under control.
Both I don’t necessarily dislike, but don’t like either. There are better blue or marine like fragrances out there and I generally prefer the aquatic ones over the shower gel ones. Bvlgari Aqva or Aqva Amara and also cheaper ones like Zara Waimea and Zara 8.0 I find easier to wear, less loud and more discrete.

I owned a bottle of the first version. I thought it was a decent freshy for hotter weather but not versatile enough for a mature man during the rest of the year.
Today I have the EDP on my arm. Right off hand it alludes to the first version but this is more serious, a mature vibe like others have already mentioned. One ingredient specifically is amped up to the max. I am not sure if it is the ambroxan or anise but it dominates the entire fragrance.
This version is right on the 50/50 mark somewhat fresh but heavy enough to be more versatile.
I like it, especially considering the competition. It wouldn’t be my first choice but would gladly wear it if all I had was access to Sephora. After all DIOR is still one of the last great fragrance houses around.
If you have the first version and like it you MAY want this version as well. I don’t see them being redundant.

So i have done something i never thought i would – purchased Dior Sauvage! I tried the EDT and liked the opening but it is WAY too strong. I found myself getting a headache just from testing some on my arm. I smelled someone at the other end of the office wearing it too but couldnt identify who it was due to the sheer radius of the sillage! Not for me.
However…. I recently received a sample of the EDP and thought i would try it. I ended up buying a bottle. The harshness has dissappeared, the “LOOK AT ME EVERYONE, I’M WEARING SAUVAGE!!!” vibe is gone. What we have here is a smoother, more mature version of more or less the same scent. This is much better than the EDT if, like me, you dont like the loud immaturity of the original. Sure its not the most radical and complex scent, but people love it! Yes you may smell it on other people, but others will smell it on you and they will like it, which is a confidence booster. I have other fragrances if i want to wear something less “generic” and will reach for those instead. If i want to wear a versatile, well received (by the general non-fraghead public) fragrance, I now have this in my arsenal to please those around me and consequently, myself.

I expect something more special when I heard this one but I just tested it and the smell is very common. It reminds me of Benetton Aim High, just like that. Nothing special for me but it smells good.

Really spectacular performance. With just one spray, more than 12 hours at good intensity. The problem is that it is an aroma that does not go much with me and is also quite smelled in the streets.
This one I think I like more than the EDT , because of not find those reminiscences of plastic pineapple in the same vein of Joop Nightflight.
During part of the development that somewhat acid and spicy aroma of Sichuan pepper with the balsamic contrast (nothing sweet) of the vanilla gives it a certain character but as it dries down it becomes more and more evident the ambroxan acid so copied in fragrances like evitorial twist by zara home or aromatic future by zara.
Is not a nonsense and as I say it , the performance is a luxury but honestly I do not think I need it .

So apparently Johnny Depp smells like sawdust and lemon meringue pie–or maybe it’s sugared furniture polish?
There’s some old spice cabinet and an amber musk that is apropos to the aging pirate mystique, and a wave of evil English wizard lavender wand.
I expected it to be dirtier, and I like it, even though I don’t want to.

@Scenturian: from what I’ve heard, the EDP is not as a loud as the EDT, but comes across smoother and more mellow. I’d love to smell it because while I do like the EDT, it does come across quite abrasively to my nose, especially if it’s over=sprayed or worn in high heat situations.

This is the creamier, full bodied & more deeper version of the EDT. Share the same DNA- 90 percent similarity with the edt which I have. I find this is more mature more classier version of the original. I like this compared to the EDT. Longevity is around 4 hours on my skin. Projection is good for the 1st hour then becomes subtle close skin scent by the 2nd hour, but u will still get the whiff when u move around. Sillage is ok, people can smell u if you are in a confined environment like office. Overall performance is better than the edt version which is always a good news due to current tactics of designer frag houses of subduing frags so that they can release flankers after flankers for $$$$$. I genuinely feel this is the only EDP that performs better than the edt, where the current trend among designer frag houses releases where edp or parfum have the similar performance with edts. I feel this older brother is versatile frag so can be used any time or for any occasion. So overall score by me is = 7.5/10.

This isn’t terrible, objectively speaking. It’s just that I don’t like it for myself. This is an okay ambroxan/freshie with monster performance. I have tried to scrub this thing off 3 times within the last 12 hours and I can still smell it on my skin without reaching for it. So in case you love this fragrance I have good news for you if you are worried about longevity/projection.

EDT is far better than this for my taste. This lost the sparkling freshness of the EDT and went on the powdery side. On the dry down the EDT doesn’t loose its initial smell. This does and becomes a simple powder.

Fresh, peppery, slightly spicy. This is a good fragrance.Gets compliments because it’s very mass appealing and kinda inoffensive.I don’t really get why this has so much hype because it kinda smells a little generic but with its own kick to it,theres plenty of other good mass appealing fragrances that aren’t as popular such as Dylan Blue,Coach,Ect.Overall I would rate this a 7.5/10

Having used a few bottles of the edt over the years I was excited to buy a bottle of the edp..all the projection and fun has gone and after 20mls I traded for the edt on ebay ..the edp for me has lost its spirit and character , it’s like a crazy rock star on calming medication ..whatever people think of the edt it garners compliments and is a modern masterpiece in my view with spikey ambroxin ..the edp is a poor creation for me and sits comfortable in a blue genre of safe shower gel fragrances. Oh and comparing sauvage to axe ..where are you from ?? Mars

Plain and simple: ANY EDT in general tends to “refresh”. Therefore, they have “sharper” tone with more citrusy, brighter notes, longevity is also average. EDP tends to modify/emphasize the “depth” of the composition with less “green” and more warmer notes, longevity is also better. EDT “floats” on the surface more while EDP “deepens”. In some cases, you may smell the EDT more around you because of all the sharp notes, as they evaporate/”expand” quicker, easier for the nose to detect. The EDP however, after awhile, lingers more and stays close to the skin, making people think that it is already “gone” or “weak”. But when hitting the first splash of water, the perfume tends to awake, and you can smell it again. It is your call to choose between the EDT and EDP, depends on the purpose of use and what you want. And many times, you may think that you can not smell your own fragrance, but others around you still can! (You get used to the scent perhaps, and may get “nose blinded”). The EDT provides you great fanfare entrance while the EDP brings home victory!
The bottom line is that, IMO, with this whole Sauvage line, for now, just get THIS ONE, and you can leave the rest of the line in peace!

Really nice. Sharp and strong. Lasts forever.

This is possibly the first time I think a parfum version is better than the original

The only real difference I could notice with the EDT is that the EDP shouts less at your face with that piercing and persistent deodorant-like ambroxan bomb.
I wouldn’t choose either of them as they both just smell like a towel coming out of the washing machine, or like a £2 body-spray, or like both of them. I don’t even consider them perfumes. But at least, the EDP didn’t give me headache as the EDT did.
I’m realising that many guys don’t even like this (or they just don’t care about scents at all) but they wear it just to get compliments and to feel confident.
Whilst this is understandably human, I still find it a bit sad, because it means that people care more about what others think of them than about what they think of themselves.
Personally, whilst I do care about getting compliments, I only value the compliments I get when I am MYSELF, because those compliments are really addressed to what I AM. I’d be happier for getting 1 compliment when wearing Fahrenheit or Terre D’Hermes than for getting 10 compliment when wearing Sauvage.
Compliments about something that doesn’t belong to you are not compliments to you. Nurture your character and don’t be afraid to express it guys, and you will see that you deserve to smell way more interesting than this.

EDP and EDT are very similar; much more similar than differences between the EDT and EDP versions of Bleu de Chanel.
Sauvage EDT opens up a bit louder – it is more ambroxan/bergamot heavy and has a greater variety of other notes which altogether give it a brighter/ligher, musky quality. The EDP, conversely, balances the Ambroxan/Bergamot with spice; pepper and the addition of nutmeg. The EDP also includes fewer notes in the heart that would otherwise detract its more simple, distinct and slightly spicier character. Whatever amount of anise and vanilla was mixed in is hardly detectable but with fewer other notes, again, helps to create a more distinctive middle and end to the fragrance. I find the EDT better overall especially considering its versatility; it has better sillage and I prefer a lighter muskier quality to a spicier one for warmer weather especially.
The EDP trades the ambroxany/bergamot linger for slightly more distinctive, ever so slightly spicier edge. While they are both very good; with one possibly being a better go-to for the evening, I wouldnt bother buying both since they are so similar and both so good. I f
