EDT. Another great daytime fragrance from Diptyque. I don’t get much honey or fruits on my skin, but lots of myrrh, pink pepper, camphor (benzoin) with some tobacco (but no smoke). It smells expensive, sophisticated, stimulating, daytime dressy for fall and winter.
I think it smells particularly good on hair (if not loaded with hair products), but my hair is not oily. It really lasts and doesn’t fall away into something simple and boring.

I don’t know how many times I have come across the triad tobacco-honey-dried fruit, but it is certainly a fragrance trope on par with oud-saffron-rose and the like. Volutes edt is definitely up there in terms of execution, I am picking up a facet of well-worn, brown leather in addition to the listed notes. I think that the iris note is what makes it avoid entering nausea territory for me personally, something I have struggled with in similar compositions – either the honey or dried fruit note has been too rich to stomach, but not in this case.

I am enjoying Volutes edt like never before on a cool morning in early April.
I have 11 Dyptique fragrances. I would say this and Oud Palao, are two of their fragrances I would call masterpiece.
I enjoy Benjoin Bohemme and Tempo equally, but they may not be masterpieces of perfumery composition.
I’m over 60 years old, and my taste is mature. I like the realistic severe Dyptiques like Tam Dao, but Volutes is so much fun, and is exciting. I normally don’t like sweet frags, nor Iris note, but they are so balanced and we’ll blended here.
Let me try to describe it. There’s the sweet dried fruit and honey accord, the honey brings out the sweetness of the fried fruit. The fruit smells like dried apricots, figs, maybe some rasberry. Then a beautiful tobacco note comes in giving the honeyed fruit a soft tobacco spiciness . The hay and immortelle are soft earthy, herbal notes that balance the sweet dried fruit. A soft pink pepper note, ads just a bit of spiciness, just enough to nicely balance the fruit, and keep it grounded.
There is a floral element, not much. The Iris blends with the tobacco for me, and just makes the tobacco have an aromatic floral, powdery nuance; like a tobacco blosom note. It stays slightly masculine leaning.
The great balsamic resins of Benzoin and myrrh, are not very strong, just adding some beautiful depth and richness in the base.
The fragrance stays somewhat fresh, because of the fresh spices, fruits and floral notes.
The immortelle which is like toasted bread, with the fruited honey, gives it a delicious gourmand aspect.
I love the hay note, it reminds me of country smells, when the ground begins to warm in the Spring, making this a Spring fragrance for me.
The EDP is heavier, with less tobacco, and is best for Fall and Winter perhaps.
    Rating: 9.5/10 edt. 8.75/10 edp.
    God loves you. John 3:16

I bought this today (EDP) and i like it so much that i can hardly describe it
Can only say that it has a sweet woody base, not overly sweet, somehow peppery, spicy, with fruity hints of old liquor, maybe apricot, but like heavier and smokey
I would say that it is heavy (for fans of aquatic or fresh smells), for me it is a “medium weight” woody one
It makes me feel very comfortable and triggers my imagination a lot, like recalling nice memories from a very long and special journey with special people
A classic type of smell, it has some ‘granpa’ quality, but the type of granpa that maybe knows how to play the guitar for his grandchildren and their friends, and they love it!
Right now i am getting a softer powdery type of smell, (i sprayed on my chest and under my shirt before i started writing this)
If it was music it would, for me, be a sweet note on the piano accompanied by some very heavy electric guitar played very low in the background, along with some violin, again in the distant background, small bells, and a nice erotic female voice feeling somehow jazzy and laid back
I think it leans towards more on the masculine side than the feminine
Cannot say anything about projection and sillage but tbh i dont care at all, as long as i can smell it myself it is perfect
If you like woody fragrances then you have to try this one, it is fantastic!
    Update
I sprayed my brother and he said that it reminds him a lot of Gucci Pour Homme II

I think Fragrantica should make a distinction between EDP and EDT versions of the same frags since as in Volutes, there is quite a bit o’ difference between the two. If you are using the same page for both versions, sillage and projection part and whether or not the frag is liked or disliked can be deceptive.
EDP is a monster both in terms of longevity and sillage. But it can be giving you a headache kind of overwhelming if you are trigger happy. I had a sample of the EDP version and although I quite liked it, based on Gedlive’s review I went ahead and bought the bottle of EDT version and I am very happy with my choice. Thanks Gedlive.
For me EDT is love and EDP is like. With EDT you can get the iris and tobacco separetly without your nose getting numb. It has a decent longevity and sillage as well. It stays on your skin a good 10 hours and you’d probably get a good sillage for about 2 hours.
p.s. The frag is certainly much more complex than just iris and tobacco. But I can easily distinguish these 2 notes. In fact I like this frag so much, I thought I didn’t need my almost full Herod anymore and gave it to a friend as a gift since I found Volutes is a much better smelling tobacco than Herod.

EDT. This smells exactly like a cough syrup. Sweet, sweet syrup underlined with a blend of crushed dried herbs, and licorice. It makes me happy to smell it as it reminds me of childhood, so maybe a pillow spritzer but not a body fragrance, especially as it smells like dried spit if you sniff in passing without being familiar to this perfume. The longevity is quite short but as with most Diptyque perfumes it gets prettier with time and blends into your skin.

Volutes EDP: I will agree with the few reviewers who said that this one has medicinal notes in it. To me it smells like a mix of cherry cough syrup, tobacco and men’s after shave. Surprisingly enough, I do like it a lot and so do my kids, who are generally averse to orientals or spicy perfumes; To be honest though, I don’t find this spicy either and comparisons to Tobacco Vanille or Chergui leave me flabbergasted. It’s comforting, classy (despite the after shave element), smooth and cozy. What it isn’t, is sexy or spicy or bold. Lasting power on me is 6 to 8 hours, but it stays very close to skin from the start and is detectable only if I bring my wrist to my nose after the first hour.
Unfortunately, I find the EDP leaning closer to masculine territory, especially compared to the EDT which was softer and mellower, and though I do wear unisex perfumes (Tobacco Vanille and Ambre Precieux are two of my favorite and most worn fragrances), I just can’t get over the after shave vibe in this one. I think I’ll have to disappoint my kids and buy Eau Duelle instead, as it lasts quite a bit longer on me.

This is a relatively pretty fragrance, just a little too powdery for my taste. Floral, incense, tobacco with strong honey and powder influences. Something in it has a synthetic quality.
Sillage is soft (skin scent). Longevity is moderate at about 4-5 hours (moderate considering it’s a toilette concentration).
Overall, a pretty fragrance good for Fall or Winter. Warm and inviting if you like a powdery, honeyed, incense.

    Review of Edt.
This is such a smooth fragrance! Like Sade singing “Sweetest Taboo” smooth.. This is sweet tobacco no doubt. I am not a professional when it comes to pin pointing out different notes, however, I do know iris! Iris is here and she makes her presence known from the jump. This is powdery sweet yes. Grown lady sweet. This is never childish. Oh no! And the dry down is soo goood. The iris is tired by then because she had been showing her ass for hours lol. I love how tamed it is in the dry down. Honey sweet! This frangrance is thick but not suffocating thick. No no I meant Rich!! Longevity on my skin is 10+ hours, and this is edt I remind you. I scored a 100 ml tester from ebay for $80! Ooooh Yeeeeah!
P.S. Let’s have a moment of silence for the discontinuation of this sweet thang

Cold smoke and spices is what I get from Volutes Edp at the beginning following with hints of iris and something warm and bit sweet. With mid comes sweet warm smokiness with resinous feeling to it and finally drydown with resinous sweetness from benzoin along some of the smoke still in there; overall reminding me of Eau Duelle from Diptyque also.
This one lasts most of the day in my skin no problem, sillage is average though it could have been better for lightly spicy/smoky sweet scent. Volutes is good all around, it’s easy to wear in most situations and there isn’t much I don’t like about it, but neither is there much that I really love about it.

I like this but theres something in here that smells distinctly like urine. My mom agreed. Pee and sweet tobacco cookies.

Iris??? But my skin doesn’t like iris . . . but this is good.
I was gifted a sample of this and when I put it on I was sure it was violet I was smelling — peppery and sweet floral that was given extra depth with tobacco and resins. Kind of yummy but clearly floral.
This is one of those fragrances where one note jumps out and then another — a purple candy grape, a jar of dry tobacco, honeyed floral, myrrh. Very interesting and enjoyable.
After a few hours it settles to more of a powdery tobacco resin and later a creamy drydown.

Testing this morning, I begin to understand Fabrice Pellegrin’s voluptuous creations a little better now. Volutes takes me immediately to Eau Duelle rather than Chergui for comparison, this is Duelle’s tobacco smoking cousin (in fact I had to look up Pellegrin’s other creations right away as I thought of Eau Duelle upon first sniff).
Volutes is a fruity, gently honeyed hay thanks to a delicately calibrated dose of immortelle, that note which can so quickly consume all others. It’s a gorgeous blend indeed.

  15. :

    5 out of 5

Volutes EDP is a sweet, powdery tobacco scent that traces a similar path to Serge Lutens’ marvelous Chergui, but never quite reaches the latter’s rich and well-rounded heights. Powdery iris fights for dominance with the tobacco, which is bolstered in sweetness by hay, honey and a healthy dose of toasty immortelle – a note I usually recoil from, but one that is properly dosed here. I find Volutes far more powdery, sweet and diffuse than Chergui; it is also less smokey and, ultimately, far less satisfying. I do like Volutes, but this particular box has already been well and truly ticked.

  16. :

Volutes EDT has become my signature. The honeyed tobacco scent is so comforting! It does remind me of Chergui from Serge Lutens but it is a little sweeter and less smokey than Chergui. Love both.

This stunning perfume has THE BEST hay note I’ve come across. It so unique in that not many fragrances I know of have it.
For me, the main player in the perfume is the hay. I also get a hint of patchouli, as a few other reviewers do too. I also get some clove in the opening.
Very cosy. So much so, I’m wearing it to bed tonight!
    Again! 🙂
Go for the EdP (black label) over the EdT (white label) for better performance!
I’ll never be without this one! Been thru my 11ml travel spray. On the hunt for a 75ml edp. (You don’t see this fragrance for sale on ebay as a ‘used’ item and that speaks to how damn good it is) Once you know this fragrance, it becomes a real keeper!
    My sentiments exactly!
*edit, like the reviewer below me, I too don’t class this is a Tobacco perfume, it’s more about the hay and iris.
Really quite unique in itself. In my opinion, the best in the whole Diptyque line.
    LOVE VOLUTES!

Volutes EDT doesn’t quite captivate me as a tobacco scent. I find that it is a beautiful iris perfume with a unique presence.
Tobacco is prominent, however the iris always finds it’s way centerstage. I feel like the two are constantly competing and iris always comes out the victor. It’s a little discordant to me with the two never really complementing each other. Iris is sweet and candied in an elegant way and rather showy. I’m constantly waiting for the honeyed tobacco and balsamic spices to seduce me but they’re barely out of reach. The accords run parallel to each other and never quite touch, like two concentric circles where the iris is the outer ring.
Beautiful, a little disturbing, I can’t quite connect but can appreciate its symmetry.

This is truly beautiful. It is like old spice mill mixed with the man smoking a pipe and all those scents just mixed up beautifully. I am surprised no one has seen the similarity between this and chergui!! they are soo identical the same beautiful spice market feel, star anise and tobacco.

This is a review of the EDT. I love this perfum! It is rich and spicy yet sweet and warm. Unfortunate the edt has been discontinued so I regret only getting one bottle. This perfume reminds me of JML oolong tea, but this is more smoky and resinous . I imagine this sent works best in the winter for semi- casual use, big sweaters, riding boots and lounging by the fire place.

This beauty is just the way I like ’em. I’m a sucker for spicy orientals, and here we have spices galore, plus some of my other favourites such as iris, immortelle and honey. I’m not so keen on tobacco, bur here it is so well blended with other notes that it adds depth but does not overwhelm. The result is a superbly classy unisex scent, perfect for winter, but suitable for other seasons too. I only have a 2ml sample at the moment, but this is definitely full-bottle worthy.

This is my kind of scent. The kind I use to buy–well made orientals. Strong, and elegantly balance.
Every year since 1999, I always take saved up money and purchase an expensive perfume. For 2016, I chose Volutes.
It is worth the work, the wait! Everything is right with this one. The story, the name, the fragrance. I purchased it at Diptyque boutique, which just sealed the rightfulness of effort.
The story has to do with one of the founders of the house and his trip on an ocean liner and the sophisticated women would smoke something call khadive (a spicy Egyptian)cigarette, hence the honey and tobacco. The name— Volutes, I believe, means voyage.( I later learn it means spiral shape –like smoke)
This is so smoky and gives off a cinnamon vibe to those that inhale it on me. There is no cinnamon, but its so well balance of spicy and sweet material it gives off that vibe. I don’t regret this purchase or how much I paid for it. For a tobacco scent, it is original in it composition. Closest thing that come to it is Diptyque other great, Duelle.
To add, I was impress that the Diptyque Boutique gave me a free Oud candle(small) along with a generous sample of newly release Eau De Sens. Volute is just a well crafted fragrance.

I am reviewing the EDP. For me this is more of a spicy iris than a tobacco fragrance. Opens with a big iris slightly sweetened with honey but still very dry and powdery. There are layers of peppery spice, immortelle and hay. It’s a rather warm and dry fragrance that blossoms beautifully in the heat. It’s a very unique composition, I have honestly never smelled anything like it.
It is a stunning fragrance that I will always have in my wardrobe . There are no substitutions for this fragrance. One of the most exceptional iris perfumes that I have experienced.

    ***Eau De Parfum***
(The all black label and smoke colored bottle)
I’m kicking myself. I should have bought this when I found a bottle for super cheap. I have a decant now and here are my thoughts as succinctly as possible.
This does not smell like Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille-to me. On my skin it leans toward Tobacco Oud if anything thanks to the resinous notes. It has some spices and LIKE TF’s Tobacco Vanille, the tobacco note is very well blended and smooth with the dried fruits and a touch of vanilla in there somewhere but it is a bitter, very realistic vanilla.
It does not project much for me, and leaves little sillage so in that regard it is a poor replacement for TVanille or TOud. However the scent is divine and has touches of leather and Irish butter (to my nose) that are mouthwatering. I only get honey in any notable concentration around the 4 hour mark and it has already been a skin scent for an hour by then. I expected better from an EDP.
It’s warm and inviting and while it feels like a spring/fall evening scent to me, I can see myself wearing it all year when I want a hit of that sweet dark dried fruit and light tobacco goodness.
Scent: 7/10 it does not stand up to my favorite tobacco of all time, Tom Ford’s Tobacco Oud, but damn it foes a good job of making me look past it’s shortcomings. It has character.
Projection: 7/10 for the first 30 min, 5/10 past hour 1, and 3/10 by hour two-on my skin.
    Sillage: 4/10 hour 1, 3/10 hour two, and 1/10 past hour 3.5.
Longevity: I am still able to smell it as a very natural skin scent 6 hours in, and at about 8 hours it’s totally gone. Worth it for an evening out, otherwise you will have to reapply.
Would I buy a full bottle? Hell yes. I am also testing the EDT because they do smell different and I will see once Ive had some time with that, which is better but I’m already leading EDP.

    Quite interesting!
The tobacco mixage with sour dried fruits & honey gives a bitter sweet harmony of happiness. Something cheeky, something naughty, playable, and something mysterious. The saffron adds the sweaty cheeky effect upon the juice, while the myrrh, & the benzoin adds the mysterious naughtiness besides the tobacco.
I am reviewing the EDT version, and i wonder what would the EDP would be like! i guess the devil himself.
My opinion about Diptyque is about to change for good, as this is the 2nd fragrance i am impressed with! I had this sample since Dec 2014 & i never gave it any attention cause i wasn’t interested in sniffing it! BUT thanx to my curiosity.

Unfortunately I don’t have it since it’s close to the price of gold but tried it at the store. Oh my, I LOVE it! It’s very unique, smoky tobacco mixed with a well-aged scotch. When I was a kid there was a cough syrup in Germany that smelled like this. Volutes has this medicinal scent to me but in a very good way. Like a good Scotch can be a medicine. I don’t know how it smells on guys but on me it’s delicious and cool.

    Smoky honeyed tobacco…
Very interesting and seductive scent. I really like this one and find it intriguing. A very seductive scent which has a combination of all my favourite notes. Iris, honey, tobacco. All work together wonderfully in this (Note: I’m reviewing the Eau de Parfum version).
This reminds me a little of Chergui by Serge Lutens. I think it has a very similar vibe and I find it intriguing. The iris note is great and I always appreciate iris in a perfume. It does smell like tobacco smoke, or at least a sweet incense. I find this would suit winter and autumn the best in my opinion, especially in the Eau de Parfum. I think if you like amber, incense or tobacco themes in fragrances, this is one to check out. Unisex and very noir, this is a great mysterious fragrance which would smell great on a well-dressed elegant person with style. Intriguing, seductive, and quite special.

Sooo many reviews and I’m writing this after reading none of them, as to not be ‘influenced’ at all.
OMG I LOVE THIS perfume. It always makes me smile.
My first love of ‘high end’ perfumes was Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille and this bears a slight resemblance to that in the tobacco, vanilla and spice accords. This is perfectly unisex. The hay note is a real treat for me as takes me back to my horse riding and stable dwelling days of old when I was young. For my dry skin this has moderate to good projection and around 6 hour longevity. Can’t give this enough praise. It is totally ‘full bottle worthy’ and makes me want to try more of the Diptyque fragrances. If you like spicey scents, you can’t go wrong with this. Thank you Diptyque! ✔

You wake as the sun kisses your face – dew soaks through your clothes as the crisp morning air lifts you up. Surrounding you is a magical field of airy irises and lush green grasses – peace finds you in this brief moment. Your skin begins to dry to reveal a smooth pink pepper and saffron – the honeyed warmth of the sun evokes the comforts of fresh hay and rich tobacco. You feel loved, safe. You begin to wander – you traverse many mysteries as you pass through groves of plum trees and banana plants, all baking in the heat of the sun. You arrive in another field, this one full of syrupy immortelle – you lie down for just a moment. The circling trees weep their resinous tears – the sun and the wind unite this strange and comforting new world. You ooze the most beautiful powdery iris and tobacco, gripped in the syrupy warmth of immortelle and bathed in the richness of myrrh and ambery resins. You are weightless, you are at peace. Moments later, it feels as if a lifetime has been shed from you…you wake, back in reality – with only the softest trace of powdered tobacco and crisp, green vanilla still lingering. Whether that moment was dream or reality matters not – it changed you forever. May there be room in this world for all our dreams to come true.

Funny, I didn’t know there was violet in this fragrance. I don’t detect it at all. I definitely smell the honey, hay, tobacco, and patchouli. Beautiful scent.

lucky scent recently announced that it’s being discontinued…
tobacco honey scent with not that much sweetness. not my favourite tob-hon offering. something grassy and leathery in the mix too, kinda gives it a farm feel. not my favourite, kinda one-dimensional and unperfumey. it smells like how you’d smell like if you worked with hay and/or tobacco. i hope that makes sense.

When I was a kid, my father used to stop at a local newspaper, magazine and cigar store every Sunday morning to pick up the five pound Sunday NY Times in which he’d be immersed for the rest of the day. Smelling Volutes–the EDT specifically–immediately transported me back to the age of seven, accompanying dad into The City News and being enveloped in a cloud of that vanillic, honeyed scent of fine cigars.
Note: The EDT is indeed a different beast from the EDP and an overall more beautiful and tobacco-y frag

Volutes is the fragrance that began my “scentual” awakening. It’s the first bottle that made me hear Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Overture thunder in my head, that made the wood-panelled Diptyque boutique dissolve into swirls and tendrils of smoke, creating an intimacy with a scent I’d never had before.
Basically, I realized from that moment forward that perfumes can do much more than (hopefully) mask any BO antiperspirants fail to, and elicit the odd compliment. They can set a mood, they can thrill, they can seduce. Volutes does all that and more.
It’s supposed to recall the decks of a Saigon-bound steamship and the honeyed Egyptian cigarettes smoked there by beautiful women. And it does – but not in an overt manner. Volutes is an Oriental perfume that whispers, that beguiles. If anything, it doesn’t make the promise of a tryst, but coyly hints at the memory of one.
Volutes smells how I’d imagine the inside of an antique steam trunk should, filled with tobacco and books with irises pressed between their pages, and maybe even a fraying postcard from a foreign lover with private sentiments written in passionate longhand. It’s astounding.
On men, Volutes projects tobacco, honey, and spice, and keeps a refreshing powdery iris close to the skin that prevents it from smelling like a syrupy handful of North African hookah tobacco. Over time the spice fades a bit and the iris projects just a little further from the skin. Something in it, I’m not sophisticated enough to pinpoint, every now and then brings to mind glimmers of dried black cherries. It could just be me, I really don’t know.
This scent is AMAZING. Must own for a man, and probably enchanting on a woman as well. 5/5!

Heavy, rich and a bit boozy honey fragrance. Like wumbologist wrote before me, this really smells like sexy Shalimar if they replaced vanilla with honey. I feel like I’m dripping in sticky honey when I’m wearing this. Iris note makes Volutes comforting and somehow melancholic. This is quite perfect fall/winter scent.

A bit of a multi-headed monster this one, sometimes it gives off the most decadent, aromatic blond tobacco and other times it does then immediately turns very dry, even a bit sour and pungent with brashness of spice, failing to sweeten much at all.
So one extreme to another in oriental bracket. But one thing for sure is the scent suffers from a lack of vanilla, not having that ‘syrupy thick’ vibe to it despite apparently having honey.
Iris may be present but the cinammalic and tobacco rawness (non-smoky) are too edgy for me and non-smooth.
This may also be the saffron, a powerful vibe in any fragrance, throwing things off course from being as sweet at the start or as ‘gourmand’ as one may want.
This definitely is more straight up oriental than gourmand but come up as rather odd in the end, the richness of the resins (benzoin and opoponax) don’t seem to come through with the honey-sweetness, instead projecting a greenish vibe even and odd airy hints that only help in making the spiky tobacco and ‘dull sweetness’ more prominent.
An odd one for sure, like a ‘different’ pot-pourri. May attract, may turn off in equal measures but interesting scent to sample certainly!
This however wasn’t my cup of tea.
    My rating: 5/10.
    Scent Quality: 8/10.

    I own the EDP bottle.
Wonderful stuff and it seems a bit underestimated. Everybody knows Philosykos and Eau Duelle, it seems, but Volutes disappears under the Radar.
I recommend this beautiful scent to anybody who likes iris (or Dior Homme) and tobacco leaves.
Volutes at first smells like Dior Homme on cinnamon buns, exquisite, that top note. Then, not long after this delicious start, the fragrance turns into pipe tobacco with a hint of spice. Still you have also an air of iris in the background.
Sillage is moderate and the longevity satisfactory, I have no issues with this one. My skin eats up even strong scents and I am happy this one stays with me for 6-7 hours.

This turns quite powdery on me, not my type, but it is quite lovely on women and men. Definitely a barbershop/day scent with a moderate complexity. As I am a pipe smoker, I’m used to more prominent tobacco smells and I don’t pick up much–but that could be me. I do have a nice iris presence on my skin.
For those who like powdery scents, soft, not too masculine, but very clean-smelling without any trace of soapiness, this would work very well. I don’t know if I will buy this again, though. A truly fine perfume.

I’m a lover of Diptyque and obsessed with sweet tobacco, so this seems really up my alley. Unfortunately, after a delightful and boozy opening, the EDP settles into a very ‘old lady perfume’ smell on me; the ETD smells just right, but dissipates so quickly, I’m not sure it’s worth it. The ETD is basically how I want to smell all the time, but the only people who could smell it are those whose faces are literally pressed against my skin (ie, me and someone who likes me enough to not care how I smell). Ah well. 100 bucks in the bank.
If only I could get the smell of the ETD with the strength and lasting power of the EDP…

Pretty much my favorite from the line; one of the more masculine ones with a lot of depth.
When its honey-tobacco is prominent, it reminds me of Back to Black (by Kilian)’s glory, but subtler*
*EdT and EdP smell quite different; with the latter being much deeper (ambery, dusty, smoky, almost balsamic), which makes the honey-tobacco harder to detect.

Very nice scent. Sometimes I am caught by the sweetness of the scent. From my experience it smells much better on material then it does on my skin as the sweetness can sometimes be too much. The tobacco in this is very nice as it is a sweetened tobacco. This fragrance is a good one to wear.

So sweet, balmy powdery…A scent to wear when the leaves start falling, when you want to warm your heart, when the days shorten. The iris gives Volutes a light dryness that makes the honey softer and not so overpowering.
It’s gorgeous, well blended, has a delicate sillage and last long on my skin.
    This review is about EDT.

This smells like a sexier, more modern Shalimar to me. It’s like they replaced that vanilla with honey and the incense with resins and the result is less smokey, less powdery, but more rich and opulent-all while being lighter at the same time. There’s also no leather, which is probably why it doesn’t smell as heavy. But it definitely is in the same vein as Shalimar, a resinous, non-spicy oriental. Ideal winter day-time scent for me. Love!

    EDP:
I put this on at a Diptyque counter and thought it was just alright. It was just a little more herbacious than I typically strive to smell. However, after I left, I realized just how beautiful and comforting the dry down was.
It gives the impression of tobacco, without giving the impression that you smoke
