This herbal scent is surprisingly wearable (usually not my thing) but this is not the usual dry harsh herbal more on the sweet creamy side (according to my nose anyway) a bit soapy on drydown.

This is really lovely if you are into fresh, herbally scents. I was a bit worried seeing basil listed as dominant. On me the caraway, basil, vetiver and woods are equal. Nothing dominates. Vetiver can be a strong earthy note but thankfully its very key here. There is nothing harsh and strident. I get why people speak of a mint aspect to this. Yes, it is there but it doesnt smell like a tube of toothpaste. Its quite soft and lovely.
Moderate longevity and sillage which was surprising considering the basil and caraway. Most definitely a unisex scent.

I miss these good simple lovely clean fresh unique smells from Diptyque. Please bring them back.

I have both Aire Loewe and Virgilio, I don’t see the resemblance. Virgilio is much more green and herbal, whereas Aire is sharp and bright citrus soapy floral.
I get the same feeling with Ulysses & Henriette when i use Virgilio in colder days, it is a big no-no to me, the beautiful herbal green becomes annoying and unbearable. But however i found out Virgilio performs a lot better in hot days. I guess the molecules can develop/spread out more so i don’t get the dense, nearly suffocating feeling of a green spicy cloud.
Very original and good quality with excellent longevity, basil is pretty strong until the end. A nice try for herb and spice lovers.

I had high hopes for this but it was a disappointment. The basil opening was more like lime to me, quite nice, but the whole thing had vanished within 15 minutes. I have Tam Dao and like it in spite of it’s rather limited longevity, but it doesn’t disappear that fast.

This stuff is amazing! This was a blind buy for me and some reviews made me concerned. Since this perfume is discontinued, getting a sample is a problem, so I took a chance. I am so happy I did! It is so natural and green, I cannot stop smelling my wrist. It smells like a summer forest and I always seek fragrances like this. Perfect for aromatherapy. It somewhat reminded me Serge Lutens Chypre Rouge, apparently because of caraway note which is quite prominent. Vetiver is also strong. Despite just a few notes, it is a complex scent. Love!!!

Same as what Ulysses wrote in the review below. I loved it on paper, but once worn it’s too harsh, it provokes me a sore throat. Be careful when wanting to buy this, make sure you try it on your skin. I usually can tell what a scent sprayed on paper would end up on my skin, but with this I was totally misled.

On paper I liked, I bought it, but on me it was not the same thing: herbaceous, spicy, bitter and dry but in an annoying way to something nauseating. Exceptional durability.

Despite receiving mixed responses from those close to me whom I coerce into sniffing my wrists and neck every day, this is a perfume I hold dear.
The combination of the basil, woods, vetiver and a hint of cedarwood is very balanced and sometimes it feels very linear. Top, heart and base notes quickly merge, and overall you get a fresh, green, grassy and soapy perfume.
Sadly, I was told that it has now been discontinued. The reason was ‘protecting raw material’ or something, which is translated into ‘it’s not selling well’.

Incredibly green fresh soapy basil. Gives the same fresh feel that a pine bubblebath gives off, if these bubblebaths came in basil version 😉
Beautifully herbally clean scent. The Clean series have found their superior in this one, big time!
The herbal with the basil grows stronger and stronger to the point of being “basil-y camphorous” in the end.
A must for summer 🙂

This is an interesting urban fragrance with a fabulous basil opening, that warms up in a very original scent, partly like an anice bread or a bit like ouzo (greek alcholic drink)that ends in a nice vetiver.Nice, but better on a man.
