Description

Elizabeth Taylor launches her new fragrance Violet Eyes in April 2010. This sensual perfume is inspired by her iconic eye color; it is feminine, captivating, sophisticated and intriguing. Filled with a bouquet of the flowers Elizabeth Taylor loves, the composition is both modern and mysterious.

Top note is composed of fresh white peach, followed by the floral heart of jasmine and purple rose. Wonderful peony, amber and cedar form the long-lasting base of the fragrance.

It is available as 50 ml EDP. The nose behind this fragrance is Carlos Benaim.

I wore Violet Eyes to work yesterday, it’s the first wearing this year. I love to wear it in the Autumn/Winter, as it just reminds me so much of Christmas. I don’t know if its the Cedar that does this, all I know is that I FEEL really Christmas-ey when I wear it…..15+ hours longevity on me, and I could still faintly smell it on my sheets this morning. Beautiful. To me this is sophisticated, graceful elegance, just like Elizabeth herself.

Fantastic fragrance ! To me it has notes that remind me a bit of Flowerbomb ( slightly sweet ) and Light Blue . If this had a fancy label behind it , it could command a lot of money. I love the way the cedar is added in here , sort of sultry but not too intense and reminds me of patchouli . I enjoy wearing this even more in summer , though it works for any time and is versatile. This is lovely !

I’ve worn this a couple times. When it’s on I’m reminded of heliotrope. It is a nice creamy floral.
When I’m here I can see how the combination of peach and floral and musky vanilla amber could create what I am smelling, but looking at those notes it isn’t what I would imagine.
Not loving the longevity. Definately in the 3-6hr range.

Well this is just lovely and yet not at all what I expected! I wrongly assumed that with the word “violet” in the name I would be getting a strong note of violets, which I love and have a hard time finding.
The nod to the shade of Liz’s eyes aside, this is a wonderful fragrance and a huge detour from the perfumes I have traditionally associated with her name like the Diamonds line, of which I happily own.
I would definitely wear this in the spring and summer only, it doesn’t strike me as lending itself well to fall or winter weather. I also don’t catch any peach note at all even though it is listed as first of the top notes. I get all florals and after my initial liberal sprays this morning as I prone to doing, I am somewhat disappointed to find that it diminished greatly in the first couple hours after I applied it.
Still, as I said, a lovely fragrance. A departure to be certain for this particular line but nothing earth shattering in the way of what is available for drug store/big box store available perfumes.

This is one of the few Elizabeth Taylor scents I like. It’s light, pretty and not overwhelming, has a lovely color bottle too. The other one I like Is Forever Elizabeth. Both on the floral sweeter side. If you find scents like White Diamonds and Passion intimidating Violet Eyes might be up your alley.
Elizabeth Taylor was one of the first celebs with a big perfume line. She not only had unique colored eyes but double eyelashes.

Looking at the notes, and accords, I’m not interested in something that smells “fresh”. I would like to try it but I’ve never seen it anywhere. I’m disappointed that there are no violets in the perfume formulation. Surely this is a flower worthy of tribute to the actor’s falls striking “violet eyes”?
I looked at many photographs of Elizabeth’s family to investigate her beautiful eye colour. After lots of poking around l came to the conclusion They aren’t actually Violet. They are a kind of smokey dark blue with a bit of green. In some portraits where her eyes are violet, l wonder if there is some grey in there too. Still a very unique shade nonetheless. Depending on the lighting, wardrobe and makeup her eyes appear violet or a more blue or even green. Her changing eye colour is truly chameleon like. One can see that she inherited these eyes from her mother and that her children and grandchildren have them too! Lucky ducks.

Out of my favorite fragrances, this is the one that is not like the others. Cedar is the strongest note on my skin (and I’m not usually a fan of woody florals), but the blend of this composition projects maturity, class, and elegance. I find it suprisingly comforting. I do not detect powdery notes as mentioned in other reviews, which is a plus for me, but I would classify this as a soft, sophisticated scent. I lightly dab the lotion on my skin before spraying the EDP from a distance. Satisfying sillage and longevity. And the bottle… such a beauty.

I love Eclat d’Arpege but hate it’s weak power and zero longevity on my skin.
37 people thought Elizabeth Taylor’s Violet Eyes is a lot like it, and many say Violet Eyes has good sillage and longevity.
This is why I dared to make a blind buy from Amazon.
IMO Violet Eyes has nothing in common with the delicate Eclat d’Arpege.
I can find the peach note in Violet Eyes, but it is dominantly very floral and the peony note makes it sweet. (there is no such sweet element in Eclat d’Arpege)
Ultra-feminine, soft and a bit sweet drydown.
Violet Eyes is a sillage bomb. Be careful not to overspray.
Elizabet Taylor would have loved it, I believe.
This is definitely a masterpiece. Very elegant.
In the large group of all sorts of celeb scents, this is among the royal ones.
    Beautiful and also practical bottle.
Successful blind buy even though nothing that I expected!
    PS.
The more I use this, the more I love it! this is really Beautiful!

An absolutely beautiful feminine fragrance.I can definitely smell the rose, jasmine and cedar. It is a soft floral powdery gorgeous scent. One of my favourites.A real winner 10/10.

Violet eyes is a beautiful, clean, woody floral. Upon first spraying I get that sparkling quality a lot of ET perfumes have. I honestly don’t get much of the peach, for me the Cedar really dominates. I think the rose gives it a clean powder and the peony adds some zesty peppery spice. I think the florals bloom more once the Cedar dies down. I’ve worked in a few Mansions in Newport RI on Ocean Drive. This is kind of a clean cedar closet/clothing/ocean air through the flower garden/rich smell for me. I really love this. I think its very easy to wear, would be a good pick if you were going to be in close proximity of others and did not want to offend with your fragrance, but wanted to smell unique and comforting. The color of the bottle is stunning. Highly recommend giving this a try.

Elizabeth Taylor’s Violet Eyes is such a balanced and light fragrance that even Colin Farrell, the Irish actor, has worn it. Unfortunately, as of Feb. 2018, I believe Elizabeth Arden/ Revlon have discontinued this scent. Perhaps, if you write Elizabeth Arden, they might bring it back.

  13. :

I am an idiot for thinking this would have notes of violet without even looking at the notes, so that is my fault. When I sprayed it, I got the peach but it was very light and watery, and it quickly dried down to a very cheap hair spray smell (and there are some hairsprays that I like the scent of). This smelled like the White Rain hairspray that you can smell alcohol in, and while it lasted a long time, projection was weak and I didn’t care for this at all.

Soft floral sweet very feminine and even for young girl first perfume I don’t think of this parfum as being for older lady like Elizabeth Taylor or her perfumes. At first I smell the rose and the peach fruity and fresh sweet also the jasmine so yes flowery but silky smooth and clean. There is also some wood and vanilla amber. Smell clean soapy and good for spring summer to wear with dresses or mini dresses cocktail dresses. Conservative. Is such a pretty bottle. I have the parfum spray and the body lotion and hair gel. So good.

  15. :

Pretty is the word for this.
Light and graceful. Gentle projection, fantastic longevity.
Ladylike floral notes (hard to detect what?), ultra light powdery notes and a soothing drydown that reminds me a little of Lancome Miracle – pink pepper and white musk.
A very safe blind buy if you like gentle, office-safe florals but don’t want to be bored stiff, as it develops on the skin in the most pleasing, caressing kind of way.
    Yet another Lizzie winner!

This is really pretty! A heftier take on Eclat d’Arpege. On me, it’s mainly about the cedar, which is what I love about it; the bit of fruit and florals I do smell are definitely supporting acts. I would say this is a clean perfume. It doesn’t really stand out in any way, but it’s nice for sure, perfect for the office. ET scents are a great value, and Violet Eyes is no exception, even if it is one of the lighter offerings, as it’s certainly no lightweight.

  17. :

I like this fragrance but it is very intense. You only need one or two sprays. It’s very floral.

  18. :

    3 out of 5

I really wanted to like this perfume. It is a non-existent floral blend on my skin. At first spray, cedar and peach are at the forefront; and after 2 minutes, I can no longer smell it. It’s like my skin sucks it all up at once; so weird. I think it smells very close to Mariah Carey’s Luscious Pink, but even lighter. So disappointing, since I really like how it smells. I think the cedar may be too much in this one…

Just a thought…people here saying they expected this to smell of violets and it doesn’t. I’m wondering if that was deliberate – after all, Liz’s famous ‘violet eyes’ weren’t actually violet either.
This perfume was my second blind buy of an ET fragrance, the other being Diamonds and Rubies. I find I need to give her fragrances time to grow on me. I liked D&R but didn’t love it until the second day of wearing it. VE only arrived this morning. It didn’t impress me when I first sprayed it on, but a couple of hours later after I kept catching wafts of it, I realised how lovely it really is. This lasted an impressive eight hours – it may have lasted longer but I took a shower at that point. Very elegant and ladylike. I haven’t tried Eclat d’Arpege so I can’t comment on that similarity, but I do have (and love) the original Arpege, and while not the same they do share a ‘vibe’. Beautiful, and I will probably repurchase once I’ve used this bottle up.

This is, by far, my favorite inexpensive perfume. Although it doesn’t list pepper, I definitely get a peppery note when I first spray it on. Maybe it’s the amber. It’s lush and unusual on me. It may not be for everyone, but I love it and I really don’t care for any of the other E.T. fragrances.

  21. :

Tried this in-store but decided to wait for a sale. The tester bottle I tried it smell like some kind of body lotion. I will blind-buy this at a later stage, the tester is not right.
Update: above was written in May, for my records I have now bought this frag, the bottle I’ve just bought now July 2017, code 1HA8 was manufactured in June 2011, smells so fresh, cedar, rose floral, and fabulous, age has nothing to do with it. I think Elizabeth must have enjoyed this one as much all as her other fragrances that she had a hand in the making of.

  22. :

There aren’t many fragrances l will actually wear, but l will wear the E.T. collection. My first whiff of Violet Eyes and l was in love, for a minute. The first blast of deep floral soon gave way to a very predominate, peachy peach, which isn’t too hateful, but it’s just a few notes away from a full fledged peach body spray. The dry down on me is very cedary which is not unpleasant. Bottom line, l am a bit disappointed with this scent. I think l will save it for summer days as im sure it will grow on me.

  23. :

This pretty much smells exactly as described by its notes – I get mostly peach and cedar, then jasmine and peony and some gentle rose bloom after a few minutes, a little amber later on. It doesn’t develop much over time, just stays true to its initial impression. It reminds me a bit of Chanel’s Allure, probably due to the peach and cedar. Not near as multilayered or complex as her earlier fragrances, it’s still a nice, feminine scent that is appropriate for any occasion, and I’ve gotten compliments on it, mostly from men. 🙂 It lasts a while, too. I love Elizabeth Taylor and have owned all of her fragrances at some point in time, so consider this last one to be a nice addition to my collection.

Very light, sweet..and mostly cedar..Gave it a try for days. Not for me.
My signature is diamonds and rubies.

  26. :

    5 out of 5

I like White Diamonds parfum, so I blind bought this and Diamonds and Rubies, because the prices were good. I got this on Overstock in the large size, and the Rubies in a small size on Amazon. I like Violet Eyes better. Rubies is spicy and powdery and kind of got caught in my throat. Violet Eyes is a clear, bright scent. It doesn’t have any sort of powdery scent, at least not yet. I may have to try it a few times to be sure. It starts out strong, but in a clean, fresh way. Slightly sharp and soapy, but less strong than Rubies. I haven’t gotten to the dry down yet so I guess I will edit this later.
If you are wondering which Elizabeth Taylor perfumes to try, and you do not like powdery scents much, try this one. It’s a floral without the strong powder.

Heavenly Father Thank You For Giving Me A Nose!
Forgive me if I become a bit too emotive.
I have never smelled anything lovelier in my whole life. This says a lot coming from me. I have worn many fragrances, some which have long been obscured and forgotten by time. I have worn many vintage classics which still sell today: I.e. Jicky L’Heure Bleue, Mitsuoko Red Door Shalimar Emeraude Chanel No 5 No 22 No 19 Arpege Femme Rochas L’Air du Temps Fracas Miss Dior Miss Balmain Ivoire de Balmain Jolie Madame Nahema Y Paris Opium and many countless others. Every day I pray I never succumb to anosmia and lose my sense of smell. When I smell fragrances such as this one, I’m overjoyed that I can still smell anything much less this beautiful purple perfume! After I received my gift from a good American friend who enjoys Elizabeth Taylor perfumes, I opened the box and sprayed the scent in the air and then on to my wrist. Oh, what an unforgettable moment. They say that it’s when you first get to know the perfume that first spritz and the first time you wear it that first day, that’s when it’s really magical. Well this certainly worked a magic on me.
The first spritz is a fresh almost aquatic scent of rose water. It smells like roses on watery vases, like the scent of putting your nose to the interior and you get that rose and water smell. There is citrus but to me it’s the orange scent in rose leaves and rose bushes. I detected the rose right away. There’s more going on of course but I’ll get to that. The florals are front and center for me. The rose is rather pink, feminine, and quite subtle, like a little scented gossamer neck scarf. In fact I have taken to spraying this on my neck scarves I wear in the spring and summer. Within the florals, a jasmine and peony are noticeable. The jasmine is not the showy Oriental jasmine of other perfumes with jasmines like Shalimar. In fact this is a polar opposite. She is a very subtle rose perfume for the woman who loves roses but doesn’t want to wear a heavy rose.
The jasmine is the only white floral note here with it’s sweet almost soapy goodness. It’s a peony that really works it’s charm here. The peony is substituting for what should be a violet note. The violet would have been too strong or perhaps too powdery had they put it in there. Instead the rose and peony give it a sweet feminine delicacy that most women enjoy in day wear perfumes that don’t come off as too strong. For an Elizabeth Taylor fragrance, this is by far the most subtle and the softest. AS such it’s easily worn by younger women in their late teens or early twenties. It makes a really fine introduction to floral fragrances for women. At the same time there is a maturity and sophisticated elegance and coolness that resembles the Lanvin fragrance “Eclat D’Arpege”. It also has a sort of Arpege the original air but far more subtle. We have the same peach and rose scent in Arpege. The fruity peach keeps it sweet and very delicious but at the same time it’s not too fruity. In the dry down the scent is a woodsy and pleasant smell. I like the cedar wood here it is very well done and toned down but quite aromatic enough for me to enjoy.
This is a day wear perfume. It’s easy to wear in the day time in spring and summer. It matches with light colored fabric blouses: white, pink, baby blue. It has a casual air and freshness and even an innocence. How this can be associated with the confident and mature Elizabeth Taylor is beyond me. This is a very young Liz Taylor being described in the perfume. She is the Liz we saw in NATIONAL VELVET and or LITTLE WOMEN. She is also the Liz in the Lassie movies. She is a very girlish Elizabeth Taylor. But the florals provide it with enough of a womanly maturity for me. This perfume is romantic and discreet. A little bit is enough to make you feel like you can wear it to any special event or even to work. There is a bit of a luxuriousness to this scent without having to cost you an arm and a leg. This is as good as a Chanel or Dior. The price is affordable but the fragrance is opulent even with a small number of notes. O my it’s so beautiful.
Thank you again God for giving me a nose.

This is my first Elizabeth Taylor perfume, and it’s really gorgeous! I love the colour of it, so pretty, and the perfume matches that. It’s very pretty, elegant and feminine. Lovely sweet flowers and fruit, and beautiful soft smooth amber, with fresh vital cedar, gives me a real feeling of happiness and alluring femininity. It’s really beautiful.

This is my 1st investment into the Elizabeth Taylor fragrance line. This has minimal notes, not too many flowers, not too much fruit, so I was expecting something light subtle sweet and feminine. That’s what I got out of it. This is like little thin neck scarf or like a little powder puff. It’s really very pretty. It has a peach scent interacting with pink peony flower, a rose and some wood. It’s also a bit like soap. It’s got amber in it too and I love amber. Easy to wear anywhere. It’s good for wearing to work, to a date, to a girl’s night out. Some call it mature but I don’t. Since when is being mature a bad thing? I’d rather be mature than a moron. This is the scent of a very pretty young woman who likes soft florals. The rose and peony stand out on me. And the amber. This is heaven.
Thank you Liz Taylor wherever you are.

What an awfully pretty thing. I know Liz Taylor was seen as more of a sultry powerhouse compared to someone like Audrey Hepburn, but this smells like a scent the two of them could wear like a glove. Smooth and gentle, very lady-like, and slightly mysterious. Like a mild body powder or scent sachet for lingerie. Bouquet-like as well..with a soft rose. I think the jasmine, while hard to detect, is what tempers the rose and corrals her slightly. The sweetness from the peach is not at all strong, juicy, candy-like nor syrupy. It is very natural and somewhat faint, but you can still detect a sense of sweet. It actually gives me this brief flash of the “sweet lemonade” vibe I get from D&G Light Blue, before it melts into the rose. Not a fragrance that blows minds. But it still brings to mind a pretty lady in her daily, mundane life, not looking to make impressions or seduce every second. Enjoying simplicities. Mature, composed, and quietly confident through her highs and lows…

Since I have started sampling perfumes, Violet Eyes has a special job. She rescues me from bad perfume days!! This fragrance refreshes me and reminds me of what I love. It’s a calming, serene scent, kind of like the color. It has a strong cedar presence, which makes sense since cedar is used in aromatherapy to de-stress and bring a sense of calm and clarity.
The first time I wore it, I was surprised what a light, peppery/woodsy scent it was. Like an enchanted forest at night with a sweet peach and peony that feels airy.
I love this so much. Its the most amazing, sparkling woodsy floral I’ve ever worn. This smells so so good, and fits any situation. Very modern!
The actual longevity is (now that I can smell it) around 10 hours!! I’m still not so sure about the sillage, this one gives you unexpected wafts, but I think it’s moderate. Big love.
Update: This made my husband actually say “oooo what perfume is that? You smell good.” That has never happened before.

I think this is a nice summer parfume. It’s a soft, slightly fruity, floral mix, with a little peppery dry-down.
This perfume has longevity that is unreal. I can still smell it 8 hours later. It fits so well with my body chemistry. So many fragrances fade into nothing quickly.
I bought the 100 ml in an online store, for 15$. The bottle is made of frosted glas, like Sparkling white diamonds, and the box is really pretty. To me it was a really good bargain, and I now have most of Elizabeth Taylors parfumes. I like them, and I don´t think they´re old lady-scent at all.

This smells so fresh and lovely. It’s not an over the top scent at all. I can smell the light florals, amber and peach. The cedar, to me, is very light. I really enjoy this scent since it’s not headache-inducing strong, yet has great staying power and silage. Also, I love the color and style of the bottle, I think it adds to the overall charm of the scent.
I’m not sure why people are expecting this to smell like violets? I’m pretty sure the name was in reference to the color of her eyes.

  35. :

Just got this as an impulse blind buy. Why? No other reason except that the box is really pretty. I figured 9.99 from T K Maxx wouldn’t kill me if it was vile. Plus I thought it would be violet based and I like violet.
On spraying there is no violet in here at all. It opens all peach on me but that quickly disappears. Why can I smell lilac, when lilac is not listed in the notes but here and there among the cedar, a lilac bloom comes across.
This is one of my best impulse buys. I love it. It’s a perfume to wear in the day time, during spring and summer. Not over powering just gentle and sweet but that’s not to say it disappears within minutes, turn your neck and it will greet you again.
If it was indeed Elizabeth Taylor’s last perfume, then she saved the best til last. Gorgeous.

Unlike the name it indicates, I could not detect any violet in this fragrance. However, it did conjour up the color violet in my mind, from the powdery floral fragrance. The powdery note is in good balance with the floral notes and they both enhance each other.

Elizabeth Taylor, famous for having “violet eyes” never did like her own eyes. She admitted it in an interview. And she never liked that they kept calling her eyes “violet”. They were blue. In the 1950’s movies became a feast of Techni colors and new cinematic formats like Cinerama Cinescope 3D and Todd AO the latter which was created by Elizabeth’s own husband producer Mike Todd. The lighting in certain films made her blue eyes get a tint of violet color. That’s how it all started. When Liz Taylor released her first fragrance Passion in 1987, the color of the package and bottle was purple (or violet) but it had nothing to do with the color of her eyes. Violet purple was her favorite color. This fragrance does something wonderful. There are no notes of violet in it but you feel as if this fragrance contains violets. It’s actually a soft peony that performs that trick. This is a lovely floral woodsy fragrance. It opens with peach, which was Liz Taylor’s favorite fruit. It’s a bit on the Southern Georgia peach side, very ripe, sexy, sweet and delicious, even flirty. The rose begins to bloom not long after the peach scent subsides. I can detect the white jasmine and peony. The last phase of the fragrance is woodsy with cedar wood and clean amber. This fragrance is simple and sweet, light powdery, a fragrance to wear daily even as someone’s signature scent. It’s a spring time scent of rose and peony. It has a delicacy and femininity entirely different from Passion which is smoky and intensely aromatic. This fragrance was the very last that was created for Elizabeth Taylor before she died, which means that this was the last scent that she herself arranged to be made. This smells really good. It’s sweet, soft and innocent. There is also something a bit melancholy about it. It feels like Liz Taylor knew that her time was up and this is a soft whisper of her voice, trailing off through a scent of soft flowers. Beautiful.

Today was the first day of Spring here in the UK; reaching 12 degrees with no rain and wind in sight and even that one guy in shorts.
This is a excellent fragrance for Spring; it is soft with the opening peony which really reminds me of Spring time in England.
Then the cedar follows the peony with a tinge of fruitiness; this may be the peach. Unfortunately, the fruitiness does not last too long on my skin, but instead turns into a florally amber fragrance which my nose (and boyfriend) love.
I had difficulty picking up the jasmine in this fragrance, but I feel this is due to me being surrounding my overwhelming jasmine perfumes – Alien and Glam Jasmine.
This fragrance is very inexpensive in the UK and for the price it is great. It is nice to find a perfume which caters for all ages who enjoy floral scents.
I used to wear Boss Orange as my Spring fragrance but as this is such a bargain, I may have found my new signature Spring fragrance!!

At first I get wafts of light citrus, and a sparkling fizzy, sweet lemon. There is a white floral pale background. There is a vanilla drydown which gradually becomes a sweet powdery amber. I am puzzled because there is no lemon or vanilla in this apparently, but their aroma is certainly coming through. This is fresh, bright and light.

Violet Eyes does not evoke the color violet nor smells like violets nor does it depict the color of Liz Taylor’s eyes which were blue. This is a peachy sweet and soft, uncomplicated fragrance. You get plenty of peach which was Liz Taylor’s favorite fruit. You get roses jasmines and peonies sitting in amber and woods. The cedar is strong and smells like flowers blooming in the forest. This never gets too green or earthy and is instead more like powder. I have only sprayed it as a test to see if I would like it and I LOVE it. I’m placing my order right now. Will you be my wedding perfume?
This was the last fragrance created while Elizabeth Taylor was alive. So for many this is a fitting tribute to that great star.

This is perfect for someone who loves cedar. It is all peaches and cedar, with a hint of peony. The peach is not a juicy peach, but a dehydrated peach sweetness (if that makes sense). Very soft, not linear, but not very complicated either. The cedar gives it a very arid feel. I see women of all ages being able to pull this off. I can also see this perfume working in all seasons as well. It is very warm and cozy for winter, but I can see how the dry cedar may be comforting in the summer. The bottle is beautiful, sprays very nicely. The longevity was fairly good on my clothes, disappeared instantly on my skin. Great risk for a blind buy, but only if you LOVE cedar.

Oh how I utterly adore this! Received it in a gift set for Christmas and is by far my favorite out of the trio! I seems very versatile, as it is sophisticated enough for formal wear, but, unobtrusive for every day. It’s fresh, pretty, and peachy to me. The peach is mellow as opposed to sweet. It feels summery, but could go year round. Violet Eyes is a jewel of an old fashioned meets modern fragrance….

Smells like generic body spray. Terrible generic “dry-down” as well.

I received a sample of Violet Eyes from a frangrantica member, andd it was instant love!
I cannot believe that there are no Violet notes in this perfume, and like a couple of reviews before me, I wonder if it’s the name that is playing tricks on me, making me believe there is Violet….Or maybe it IS a combination of 2-3 other notes that make it smell this way. Either way, I dont care, I really love this perfume. I am not great at describing notes, but it’s nothing like anything I own, all I can tell you is that it is a beautiful floral, and I love Cedar in perfumes. VE is perfect, glamourous and classy. I think its a safe scent in that it’s not in your face, you could wear it for work and is inoffensive, but it’s beautiful enough to be worn on special occasions. It’s gentle, but please don’t cofuse that with weak, it’s defiantely not that! It last me a good 6-8 hours which is always a plus for me. When I have finished this sample I will be ordering some of this beauty, this will become a perfect go-to perfume, to use on days when other perumes just wont do. Not in a bad way, what I mean it is is perfect for summer/winter, day/night, office/evening out. This is a perfect all rounder.
    EDITED TO ADD:
A wonderful Fragrantica Secret Santa (Denoula) sent me a 100ml bottle of this beauty for Christmas, and I couldnt be happier, I have worn it almost every day since, I cant seem to get enough of this beauty. Thank you sweetheart….

I own Lanvin’s Eclat d’Arpege, and this fragrance is its twin. I will save a few dollars by stocking up on Violet Eyes. I love them both.

Love the bottle but the cedar makes me hesitate… I hope I’ll be able to try it though.

I got this last winter and I look forward to wearing it again THIS winter. Its crisp notes are PERFECT in cold temps.
The creamy peachy cedar is subtle but at the same time comforts for hours on end. I can detect the amber, rose and jasmine all on drydown as distinctive notes. It reminds me of warm, cuddly sweaters and a hot cup of coffee, watching Netflix movies on a snowy day.
At this highly affordable price for a generous bottle I’d advise you not to hesitate and just go ahead and take the leap with this lovely chilly-weather fragrance. I’m a gourmand girl but I still love this. I think you’ll love it too. 🙂

When I first bought this perfume in a gift set I was unable to smell the fragrance because it was in the box with a lotion. I decided to try this fragrance because the set was only $20 USD at Walgreens. I first looked at the fragrance notes before I decided buying it and hoped for the best.
Once I finally got home and smelled the fragrance, I was so happy that it wasn’t as strong as other Elizabeth Taylor perfumes like White Diamonds. The scent of Violet Eyes reminds me of just taking a shower or clean clothes. This scent is very clean and fresh. I can’t quite detect the notes specifically but it does smell citrusy and fruity. Once the perfume settles in my skin it smells sweet like sandalwood and vanilla. If you want to smell very clean and refreshed this is a perfect scent. The packaging is quite simple but I like that it’s not tacky and the price is great for a “Eau de Parfum.”
I think it is somewhat of a young-women kind of fragrance for someone in the 20s or 30s but of course you should wear whatever perfume you like.
I first put it on the morning at around 7:00AM and it last till about 1:00PM. But you can’t really smell it unless you are like smelling my wrist or neck directly, even in the first hour of just putting it on.
Violet Eyes reminds me of D&G’s Light Blue.
