Description
“Vice City is Luxor Fragrances‘ second original release, following on from the successful For Queen & Country. Whereas the former was a highly masculine, woody and spicy affair, Vice City is almost the complete opposite: fresh, fruity and floral with retro sensibilities and a unisex profile that happily swings both ways.
Opening with an initial explosion of citrus, the middle notes of chamomile, petitgrain and carnation then create a memorable and intriguing floral sensation, tempered by the creaminess of orange blossom extract. With a warming and almost spicy dry down, courtesy of base notes sandalwood, leather and cedar, Vice City‘s beginning and end contrast beautifully. This is a fragrance that morphs and develops, much like the high roller upfront and ambitious enough to wear it.” – a note from the brand.
Vice City was launched in 2018. The nose behind this fragrance is Jonathan Storey.

My first try of UK-based Luxor Fragrances is the latest of its current catalog of two original creations (its catalog being dominated by clones), Vice City, a citrus/floral/woody composition inspired, in part, by Miami, Florida.
Its curious mix of varied citruses, chamomile, carnation, leather, and woods seems to reflect mostly the brightness and sharpness (and headiness) of the florals and citrus without much of the (presumably) base of leather and woods coming through, even after 6 hours. It remains a little sharp for my liking throughout, though the composition is reasonably creative.
Its performance is decent, though, certainly above average for a warm weather daytime fragrance in its genre. Luxor sells on its website (only, to my knowledge), with a 50ml bottle being sold for £50, approximately $65 US.
Overall, Vice City is an interesting composition, one that feels very good at times but overall leans a little sharp and feminine for my liking, which is fine, as I can easily imagine others liking it a lot.

A great original composition that takes you on a rollercoaster ride .Lively citrus in the form of lime bergamot and orange blossom get the fragrance kickstarted, closely followed by subtle florals that soften the initial opening blast.Leather bolsters the mid while the woods give a depth to the base and balance the fragrance nicely. Its bright refreshing but subtle all at the same time and there are stages where all the different notes breakdowns combine and can be identified as individuals but blended in a way that doesn’t make the fragrance disjointed.Performance is excellent 8+ hrs longevity with a couple of hrs of moderate projection. When you consider this is only Luxor’s second original creation , this release shows that they are serious players and this is a refreshing change to the recent new releases from the bigger houses GREAT JOB LUXOR!!!
