I originally tried this over a week using a sample from Bloomingdales layered with Amber Lavender. The AL overpowered this and, as a layered scent, the Vetiver faded into the background and was lost in both the top notes and in the dry down. I was unimpressed.
The next day, I tried this by itself and found that this opens with a very light and pleasant, almost imperceptible Vetiver that fades quickly replaced by strong lemon that dries down to a sweet/sugary lemon drop. On the skin, it disappears very quickly and turns into a skin scent though a few sprays on your shirt (personally I prefer the back of the collar and on the top placket) brings out a long lasting candied lemon which makes it exceedingly pleasant and long lasting (4-6 hours). Its pleasant but short lived on skin which gets is a neutral rating from me.

Very fresh and my favourite vetiver scent. After a gym workout I reach for this bottle and unlike some sports fragrances this is invigorating but still classy enough to wear in the evenings. If you want something a little more masculine and brooding layer it with JM Oud Bergamot.

Revisited this after a few months and I still love it.
Very fresh and invigorating as all Jo Malone scents but this is special in vetiver fragrance terms.
Never realised how fruity the top notes were until I retried it yesterday the citrus zings and works perfectly with the very gentle spice and woody character.
This might just be my favourite citrus/vetiver combo and I’ve sniffed out quite a few. It’s a perfect composition.

Not particularly original, but definitely a fantastic vetiver scent. I love it b/c it reminds me of a fragrance I used to have, but can’t quite remember… Cacharel Pour Homme, Armani (original) or maybe Cerruti 1881. Very clean, fresh and classic.
Edit: Also, good silage and very good longevity!!! Love it!

JM fragrances are designed for mixing. I mixed this one with the blue agava ( considered very feminine on it’s own ) and it smelled like the most elegant fresh scent for a man. Very gourmand. The Vetyver is key to making it a more masculine scent that’s amazing

JM recommends layering, but I tried that with Vetyver and Red Roses at the counter and, as the day wore on, the combo became downright yucky.
This one is better on its own merits – cool, clean, aromatic, and sweet without being cloying. It is serene and contemplative.
But, to go with the name, I am wanting more vetyver. I imagine a wild beach or river’s edge with tall waving grasses and cool, living waters to reward me during a long hike. This one doesn’t take me there.

After sniffing through the entire line, this is the one I chose to buy as a blind gift (smallest size, in case something goes wrong 🙂
Vetiver is a note I tread lightly around. All too often these scents get too weighty, almost like a bad body odor. Here it is kept hot and dry, with just enough sweet citrus to keep it interesting.
I’m picturing an oasis of orange trees, surrounded by waves of blowing sand. Someone just brought me my sour apple martini and I’m about to take a sip.
Vetyver wears like your private Shrangri-La

I love it. Nice and clean. Last all day.

I fell in love with this scent. It smells like hot, very-very hot day in deciduous forest. A little bit of freshness, a little bit of spicy notes… And sometimes the fresh linen smells like that, if it was dried off in the summer sun.

This smells so clean and aromatic. It’s got a hint of spice, but the tarragon really makes it special. If you like Iris or other roots and bulb smells you’d probably like this. Imagine a day spa. The white robes, the steam, relaxation, warm muscles, this is the scent I associate that with.
