On me this starts off as deep woody coconut…like the shell of a coconut…then the gardenia comes thru..but it is still a blend of coconut/gardenia..not “just” gardenia. This comes off as more “mature” to me…which I like. In the background, I guess, it is the orchid vibe note that adds some floral-ish vibe..but I will say finally…this is still a woody coconut smell in the drydown. In the middle phase it comes off as “cheap smelling suntan lotion “…but then it smooths out back into the woody coconut with a small punch of woody gardenia….if that makes sense…???…lol. This is a totally different scent than anything in my collection, including the white and clear glass bottle…that stands out on my perfume tray..like a sore thumb…but…I am really liking this one for what it is, a guilty pleasure..woody coconut…with a fluffy cloud of other notes wafting around…mmmmm…yummy…cozy…dreamy….IMO.

The smell of coconut is strong, and it make this perfume fresh and sweet because of the gardenia note (that 2 notes are dominant than the other notes). This perfume reminds me of the summer day on the beach, feels like summer holidays.

That’s peculiar that someone just wrote that the only two coconut VS scents they like are this one and Warm Coconut Sugar. I was stopping by this page to add Warm Coconut Sugar as a dupe, or a “smells like” scent. It’s been warm out and my coconut scents are coming back into rotation.
VSN 2014 and WCS aren’t the only ones that “don’t contain expired coconut oil.” However, those two ARE the sugar-crusted, frosted, “sparkling” coconut scents from the prestige fragrance line from VS, and they smell almost identical. It’s not that the rest are “expired” or bad. They’re not. They just contain more of the rich oily smell that the meat of a real coconut has and/or less sugar scent.
Maybe the rest don’t work with your skin or it’s just personal taste? Because if you don’t add sugar to real coconut, and then cook it, that oily rich smell is the result. So when you think about it, the sugary VSN 2014 and Warm Coconut Sugar are the ones that haven’t been “preserved”. Instead, they’re more refined.

My favorite one from the “Very Sexy Now” line due to ONE main reason: THE COCONUT in it had been “preserved”/treated very well with other sweet ingredients and does not have a “stale” or leave a “plastic” smell-like, after being sprayed on skin.
Coconut is a very tricky note/scent in fragrance and lotion, in order to still remain “yummy”. If not being “processed” in certain way, and depends on different ratios or percentages of oil in it, coconut can provide a “stale”-like and “weird” smell easily (due to its natural “oil” scent!?!?).
And that was what I experienced with the Very Sexy Now 2016 EDP (AND also with its body mist). And ESPECIALLY with 3 of VS Coconut perfume products known as Nude Coconut Fig, Moroccan Coconut Mimosa and Patchouli Coconut Musk (fortunately, their “sister” Warm Coconut Sugar has “survived” to my taste). Coconut oil, green fig and monoi oil…tend to share the same “scent”. Some fig scent can oddly smell like “pot”/weed. But that is a different topic.
If you have to collect at least one VS coconut fragrance, I would recommend THIS version 2014 (in the opaque WHITE bottle, comes in Pink Leopard box). The 2017 version is “safe” also but it has less coconut scent in it than this 2014 version.
Overall, when it comes to ANY product that contains coconut in it (fragrance, lotion, cooking oil…), from now on, I would NOT recommend “blind buy” to anyone as an option. You may wanna test it first before making your purchase.
(To wrap it up: I’m not a big fan of anything that has cucumber in it as my fragrance. Therefore, I have no comment yet about the Very Sexy Now 2015 version which has cucumber in it among its other ingredients. I may get a purse spray or rollerball of that version just for my curiosity. I may like it…or not. Who knows?).

This is a nice, sweet, cheerful fragrance.
Be aware, though, that it’s one on a long list of dupes in a family of near-identical scents that includes Meow (Perry), Fantasy (Spiers), Loverdose (Diesel), Black Opium (YSL), Cashmere Glow (B&BW), Sensuelle (Lacoste), Hearts & Daggers (Ed Hardy), Love (Vergara), and several others.
So the problem for me personally is how common it is to smell this in the air, especially among young folk. It’s too recognisable as ‘that’ drug store fragrance.
On the upside, I find it softer and a little more natural-smelling, and therefore easier to wear, than most of the above versions of this apparently syndicated formula. It also behaves quite well in terms of reasonable sillage and longevity. So if choosing from this list, VSN 2014 is a very good option.

VSN ’14 is a sweet creamy coconut with floral and citrus notes. Not foody, yet it is somewhat sweet. If you’re after suntan lotion this isn’t quite that either, but the gardenia and coconut do smell great & definitely has a summer, beach babe vibe. I like softer more subtle scents so this is perfect because it’s not loud or obnoxious. I don’t want to be smelling like fake coconut, just want a light hint of it every now and then. The dry down is amazing and sexy. I’m very glad I blind bought this as it has become a favorite. Just wish it wasn’t discontinued!

I have a mini of this from a set, and I revisited it today. I’m a real outlier here — what I smell is strong passion fruit. There is some coconut too, but no gardenia that I recognize. I’m glad I have this mini and will enjoy it, but I have a full bottle of Bath & Body Works Tropical Passionfruit and one of BBW Waikiki Beach Coconut which it also resembles, so I’m set. It’s a good summer scent, though, if you see it at this year’s semi-annual sale, as some have.

I had this almost a year ago. My review is below. I decided to give it another shot. I’m glad I did. Last summer, I never gave it a chance to warm up. Today, I’ve been wearing it for a full day in summer weather.
This is much better than I remembered. I am still not crazy for the florals/gardenia. I have always had a distaste for gardenia. However, I have to admit, it blends well with and complements the milky, vanilla-laden coconut. (As someone else mentioned, there must be vanilla here. In fact, it seems like a main note.) I’m sure that the florals will grow on me with subsequent wearings.
As for the coconut, it’s marvelous. I’ve always been a huge fan of that note. This is extremely well-done. There’s a fine line between obnoxious/synthetic coconut and amazing coconut. This is the latter type. (Very Sexy Now 2016 is also worthy of a standing ovation.) Victoria’s Secret has perfected their coconut game.
Longevity is excellent. I sprayed it maybe 5 times this morning and it’s now 7 o’ clock. I can still smell this VERY well. Sillage? I’m not sure. Hopefully, if the compliments come, I’ll find out! I can say with reasonable confidence that it’s not a skin scent and others can probably pick it up. I also bet that men in particular will appreciate this.
To be truthful, I still like Very Sexy Now 2016 more. It’s a matter of personal taste. There have been comparisons between the 2014 and 2016 versions, but to me, these are two different scents. This 2014 version still is a big like for me.
On eBay and a few other sites, you can usually find Very Sexy Now 2014 for about $50 for 1.7 oz. It’s the largest size made. I do wish it came in a bigger bottle.
I paid $38 for a boxed bottle plus the quarter-ounce spray. So that’s about 2 ounces for $38. That’s something I would usually never spend on 2 ounces. I’m sure I could find an awesome deal if I waited. But it’s lower than what you can buy it for on the spot.
All in all, I’m SO looking forward to wearing this. I’m going to order the lotion tonight (also quite pricey, but worth it). I’m curious to see people’s reactions — and more importantly, getting sweet whiffs of myself. 🙂

    OH. MY. GOODNESS.
I purchase about 2 blind buy perfumes per week all year round, and this is one of the most successful blind buys I’ve had in probably 3 months or more.
This is BEAUTIFUL!! I bought and received the 2016 version about 1 month before buying this beauty and I have to say…this one is even better. The 2016 version is a strong like for me but this is a definite love!
2016 version = a juicy, “wet” sort of coconut fragrance with a slight beachy/sandy aspect to it.
This 2014 version = A sweeter, dreamy, SO MILKY take on it. It’s still summery but reminds me more of an actual milky, sweet coconut and less of the actual beach. I must say it…this one is better.
So good. It’s SO good. I own probably…15-20 fragrances where coconut is a major player and this, along with Versace Crystal Noir have to be the best two that I have. I’m obsessed. Coconut scents tend to last really long on me and project like monsters on it. My oily skin mixed with any fragrance that has coconut as a big component just seem to team up so well and create a beast performance.
Longevity – I get 7-8 hours with this easily.
Projection – 5-6 feet. Monstrous. And yet, it still manages to not become cloying or, annoyingly loud. It projects so well, but remains so pretty and crowd pleasing. (Very rare in fragrances these days.)
    Scent Itself – 10/10
Overall Rating – I must say, this one gets a 9 or a 10 from me.
I almost never will even purchase a fragrance that is 50ml unless I’m left no choice (and DEFF never pay $50 for a 50ml bottle like I did with this one) but I must say…in this case, it was worth every penny. This is just down right beautiful. Must stock up before there’s none left. All coconut lovers, NO QUESTIONS, JUST GO OUT AND BUY THIS! IT’S THAT GOOD!!

(This review is a comparison between the 2014 and 2016 version)
Very Sexy Now 2014 is a beautiful golden coconut fragrance crowned with garlands of fresh Gardenias. This version is a bit more floral than its older sister (Very Sexy Now 2016) and not as beach-y, however she’s still a warm tropical scent that is versatile year-round and for all occasions.
VSN starts off much like the 2016 version sans lotus and hot sand. Instead you are enveloped with fresh florals and a hint of quince; this brightens into a warm coconut accord that underlies a bouquet of orchids and gardenia. This is actually my favorite gardenia note in a perfume: white, dewy, and very island fresh. I think VSN’s coconut is the perfect background to its flowers center stage, it’s not synthetic nor overwhelming like most coconut fragrances, this one is done just right with a very subtle amount to give character.
Overall both perfumes are well done, they are weak in performance and the longevity is not great (even the EDP is skin soft) but I think these fragrances work so well because they aren’t heavy hitters, the coconut and sands would become too synthetic and messy otherwise.
If I would have to pick between the two I would certainly choose VSN 2014; it’s white florals, beach, and suntan lotion all in one bottle. It’s never cloying despite my obsessive spraying, can be worn day or night and is perfect whether you are having lunch with girlfriends or lazing around the house. In my opinion these are great fragrances by Victoria’s Secret, and both should be considered if you’re longing for the essence of summer.

I have noticed that coconut scents seem to just be too sweet for my tastes but I really like this very sexy now perfume (I love the 2016 version more though). I like to pair this with Mariah Carey’s Forever perfume because I owned a perfume a long time ago that had coconut and gardenia in it and it smelled so amazing. Combining both this perfume and the mariah carey perfume brings back that scent for me 🙂

Hmmm, I smell all the perfumes in the Victoria’s Secret store and this was my fave! It smells so delicious, I love coconut scents. It reminds me a lot of Katy Perry’s Meow, which I love too.
The bottle is very nice and it has a moderate longevity

    4 out of 5

I was deciding between the 2014 and 2016 Very Sexy Now versions, and this one got the upper hand at the recommendation of a dear Fragrantican friend. She loves VS just as much as I do. 🙂
The scent is overall very nice, but for some reason I’m a little underwhelmed. Once I had my son, certain florals that I used to tolerate have become like paralyzing kryptonite. I love the mild coconut and watery quince, but the gardenia is making my head throb. I never cared too much for gardenia anyway. It’s too sharp for my taste.
As much as I like the coconut here, and I LOVE the sweet drydown after the gardenia fades, this just didn’t have that “extra something” that makes me fall in love. I almost want to say this is a generic smell, but I think it’s chemistry at play. Other people seem to be half-mad over this fragrance.
Longevity is very good. Sillage is good. It’s enough for people to notice.
I thought I had ordered a bottle “only sprayed 5 times”, but when the bottle arrived it was only 70% full. I feel like I paid a little much for an ounce of perfume. If you buy a used bottle, look for pictures where they hold it up to the sunlight or a bright light. The bottle itself is lovely, though. This creamy white opaque one with gold lettering and a white jewel-cut top… nice!
Not sure if I will keep or not, maybe re-sell just enough to make my money back. I like VS The Beauty of Brazil a lot more. The florals in Beauty of Brazil are a little spicier and it’s a heavier coconut, more “suntan”.
I guess I’ll be moving on to the 2016 version with heavier coconut. Having that suntan vibe is something I like, if it’s done lightly.

I fell in love with this VSN 2014 when I was at Victoria’s Secret shopping the ‘buy a bra and panty and get a free perfume’ sale. I was originally planning on grabbing the newest VSN 2016 scent but it was sold out. I tested this after being told it contained similar notes and I instantly fell in love! I sprayed some on my arm and let me say that the scent stayed on that spot until I went to bed. I woke up the next morning and still faintly smelled the perfume where I had sprayed it. The scent changes slowly and becomes a creamy and perfect coconut. It’s floral and pretty, warm at first and as the day progresses, it becomes more musky and sensual which I absolutely love. I might just love the worn-in, 7-hour mark stage just as much as I love the first spritz. This is one for the signature books for me. I feel like a bronzed Summer goddess in this. It is the perfect amount of sweet, not overdone to the point you feel like a little girl in a candy shop. It’s a subdued floral type of sweet with a shy coconut scent that doesn’t overpower or remind you of suntan lotion. Instead, it smells of pure, mild coconut, making you feel like you’re actually on vacation somewhere tropical. Sexy indeed. Just a perfect combination, excellent duration and just the right amount of sillage. (It’s a plus that even I can pick up my own perfume scent with this during the day unlike some other perfumes that seem to disappear on me.) 5 stars VS.

This is too sweet but it’s also really pretty. Reminds me of Bath and Body Works Summer Vanillas Coconut but is not a dupe. Also contains a touch of that orange note from Viva La Juicy and this is a little distracting to me since it gives me a been-there done that vibe. It opens with almost edible vanilla bean plus coconut plus a touch of orange-caramel and dash of floral and doesn’t seem to go anywhere except sweeter. I’m glad I have it but I dislike the name “Very Sexy Now” and I dislike how it took me 20 minutes to figure out which purse spray matched the tester I liked, since there were three perfumes with the same annoying “Very Sexy Now” name all on the same display at the store with no distinguishing year noted. It is a really nice scent though, like a coconut cake pop with bubblegummy gardenia.

I bought a sports bra at VS today and they gave me a very pretty purse spray of this. It’s really lovely! A nice sweet white floral and coconut scent. I could choose between any of the Very Sexy Now incarnations and this one was the most sophisticated of the bunch. The other two versions were straight up suntan lotion scents with lots of heavy coconut and some citrus. This little beauty doesn’t have the citrus and the coconut it wispy and balanced by pretty florals. This is actually what I hoped Bronze Goddess was going to smell like when I bought it and it’s matching lotion blind, but instead got beaten over the head with its sharp vetiver drydown. This may be my new favorite coconut scent.

This is the BEST coconut perfume EVER….and i own quite a few coconut scents…i love how its sweet but its an underlying cleanliness ….so its not like pure sugar….i seriously recommend this for coconut lovers. it IS very sexy and it will make you feel sexy.

This is available again at VS, for some reason. I’d thought it was limited edition 2014, but they’ve brought it back. It’s wonderful stuff, and I get great longevity out of it.
It’s quite similar to the 2016 Very Sexy Now, only I think the 2014 version is better. I’m glad I can now buy a back up bottle!

  20. :

I smelled this in store. It’s a light, coconut-y, beachy scent. I like it better than the two newer versions. I may need to test this scent out a few more times and may purchase it, if I can find it on sale at the SAS.

Coconut is my second most-favourite scent.
Very Sexy Now 2014 smells like coconut milk mixed with white chocolate… somewhat like a cake, yet, it ain’t that powdery or gourmand. More milky one.
It is a safe sweet scented, warm lovely coconut based fragrance.
Will I give if as a gift to someone, or accept this as a gift? Definitely would love to!
Will I buy it? Worth the try.
Will I rebuy it? I guess not (beside, isn’t it somewhat a limited edition?)

I am very selective about my VS scents and I don’t like very many of them, but this is one of my absolute favorites! I tried some at the counter while making a purchase and it just wowed me! Very clean and womanly. So now I totally understand why they strategically place some of these at the counter while you are checking out! Brilliant Idea! I ended up buying some! 🙂 😉
This, “IncredibLe” and “Night” are my 3 absolute faves from VS! I also like Enchanted Nights and Lemon escape. Amber Romance is not bad either. All of the others I am not super fond of. Anyway, Very Sexy Now is Beautiful! Not fond of “Very Sexy” though, but I like this. It is far more womanly smelling. Just clean and womanly and makes me feel very feminine and confident! 🙂 😉

I love this scent! I can smell the ‘sexiness’ and boys around me really love it! A very perfect wear on summer. But if you apply too much it could make you feel dizzy.Less is more. Overall it is a sexy, yummy(coconut) scent. The best coconut scent ever!

A very lovely, warm & captivating scent! Love the bottle too.
Bought this for future use since this is 2014 edition coz i was so afraid it’d be sold out…Luv luv luv though the price is super expensive for 50ml. not a fan of coconut scent but this one is so irresistably hot & sexy.

I got this from my sister. I honestly think it smells like a much softer version of Avon Far Away mixed with Bath and Body Endless Weekend and Viva la Juicy. At least on my skin. LOVE.

  26. :

Dropped by my local VS store again today and tried this. Both the edp and mist smell alike, just that the mist version stays lighter on the skin while the edp stays sweet for a longer time. Coconut is usually not my preference but this time i purchased the body mist because i loved the light coconut smell and some florals lingering inside. Its like sweet and then a little bit sour when smelling upclose. On my skin that sour comes from orchid. I know it is orchid as it smells like the ‘Total Attraction’ body lotion.

For anyone who (like me) regretfully missed buying Very Sexy Now when it was in stores last summer and didn’t find any at the SAS, VSN 2014 is available at VS online! It’s full price, but being that it’s not a guarantee that this perfume will end up back in stores it’s a price I am willing to pay! Better than paying the inflated prices on eBay 🙂

Coconut is always a very special and particular kind of scent… either u love it or u cannot stand it! So if u love coconut yes u r going to love this fragrance it’s like “a different shade of coconut” … this one is so cute so happy so feminine and so airy and light that it becomes ideal for the hottest HOTTEST summer day. Sillage and longevity are pretty mild but that is the good thing about summer fragrances. Why would someone wear a heavier scent for the summer?? Respect other people and do not impose your heavy perfume on them. Wearing a light fragrance is actually polite. Perfumes should be detectable to your significant other when he comes near and not to the whole bus or street! ! Hooray for victoria’s secret wonderful fragrance very sexy now 2014

Creamy coconut and gardenia. Like a light, summer version of Versace’s Crystal Noir.

  32. :

So beautiful. I love this scent. It’s mostly coconut for sure, but in a wonderfully dreamy way. It must be the gardenia that smoothes it all out because to me the coconut smells very creamy. It’s lovely. Longevity is good. Sillage is not huge but it’s beautiful and I wish it wasn’t LE!

Victoria Secret’s Very Sexy Now 2014 is a tropical delight! Sweet coconut and creamy gardenia with a fresh bust of quince! I absolutely love this fragrance and it’s such a shame that it was only limited edition. Excellent summer scent!

I love this light coconut -airy type perfume, the quince stands out in the perfume, making it a happy scent.

  36. :

I just got this and I paid full price, which for me is really saying something. I think it’s perfect for summer, but I’m sure I’ll also wear it in the winter. It does have that coconut, beach type smell that I really enjoy. It’s not super strong, but it was noticeable enough for me to buy it, unlike Pink Vacay that I may take back because it’s so weak.
This perfume almost reminds me of Jessica Simpson’s Fancy Love or Taylor Swift’s Taylor, just toned down a lot. I’m liking it, and may have to end up getting the matching lotion. The bottle is heavy and pretty too. Even my 18 year old daughter liked this one, and she isn’t big into perfumes like I am.
Update: The more I’ve worn this, the more I love it. It’s a great summer perfume, but could be worn year round. My first bottle did leak around the sprayer, causing the gold paint to peel and flake off. I exchanged it, but I saw a tester at the store where this had happened too, so it will probably happen again. The perfume is truly nice though. If I see it at the SAS I’m going to buy a back up.

I just bought this fragrance and i have to say that it really resonates with me. It smells so good and is the best coconut scent that i’ve ever experienced! I am not really that keen on coconut fragrances, but this is great. It smells like coconut cream and clean white florals-perfect for late spring and summer. Victoria’s Secret has alot of the same ol same ol, but imo this stands out. Needless to say the bottle is gorgeous!

  38. :

VSN 2014 smells like sunblock, the kind that has a bit of a bitter smell/taste to it. Have you ever accidently gotten a taste of sunblock in your mouth when you’re putting it on your face? It’s like that. Probably nice for a day at the pool or the beach, but I’d be slathered in so much sunblock that I wouldn’t be able to distinguish the two scents.
I will say that the coconut does smell good and not synthetic, but it just doesn’t do it for me. However, I really don’t care much for sunblock-type perfumes, I like more margarita/fruity/tropical/cocktail-type perfumes for summer, so I’m not the best judge for this one – just my opinion.

  39. :

    3 out of 5

This is pure coconut – and a very light version of it. I feel that this would be a great base for a number of other fragrances that could be layered over this.
Personally, it is too soft for me – and doesn’t have the type of lasting quality that I like in my fragrances. But I feel that this would be a fabulous scent to layer.
I love their body lotion spray gel. What a fabulous idea! Love it!
This is a very light way to apply lotion. I wish that they came out with that product in all of their other scents – particularly the “Tease – Sexy Little Things” that I like so well. I like the texture of this spray lotion – better than their existing heavier cream.

I think its chemistry with this cause bbw exotic coconut smelled like fake coconut waxed like candle on me and thats an old scent that came out a few yrs back…but to each is own..this scent is bomb.com for the heat..plus i do have este lauder goddess summer scent as well..so both are wonderful.

when I saw it had gardenia and coconut(two of some of my favorites notes), I was excited. I should have known better.
with VS my experience usually is-gorgerous packaging, meh scent. Same here. It doesn’t really smell like gardenia, more like vanilla with whiff of coconut(and vanilla is not even listed). It smells nice, don’t get me wrong but kind of generic like most of their scents. If you want scent that REALLY smells like real coconut, try Exotic Coconut from BBW.
anyhoo, I was underwhelmed which is too bad. I did ended up getting spray lotion which was on sale for $10-it does smell nice and it comes in a can and sprays out like aerosol so I really love that. I wanted body oil too but it was $25 so I decided to wait
If you just want to smell sweet with whiff of coconut, try this. If you want something less generic, go elsewhere-I suggest Truth or Dare, Bronze Goddess by EL or one of the Lolita Lempicka scents(I have a review of it, sorry forgot the name). And of course, BBW Exotic Coconut.

Definitely excited about this despite my dislike for the endless parade of VS perfumes lately lol.
The reason I like this is because coconut passion is a bit too heavy and cloying on my skin and other coconut scents (such as Coconut Lime Breeze etc.) are very synthetic or overpowered by other awkward notes in the mix.
This on the other hand is a very soft and straight forward coconut on my skin with a hint gardenia which I’m really enjoying.

The marketing for this reminds me of Madonna’s Truth or Dare and this is really interesting me because of the coconut and gardenia notes. I went to my local store tonight hoping to test it and they didn’t have it.
Can someone please review this? I am dying to know if this is worth the buy at the semi-annual sale.
