I normally don’t care for mass market scents, but I’m always curious to try them. My first thought about this on my skin was “It smells like every 1970s, Avon-wearing elementary school teacher” (in a kind of positive, nostalgic way). On me, there’s a strong bitter citrus note, with a a slightly creamy, woody base. I don’t think it smells exclusive, but as a nostalgic and fairly clean scent (definitely work appropriate) I sort of like it.

Hit and miss reviews here. But I find this awesome, and underated. I own and love Kat Von D’s Adora, which this is similar too,but Adora IS softer, and with way less longevity,so VS Very Sexy EDP fills that gap for me !!
The middle to drydown gives off a more unisex vibe to my nose..which is just fine.

This Very Sexy, in the beginning it’s obnoxiously overpowering and my first thought was: What in the flying daylights is wrong with my mom?!(She told me about it)I couldn’t breathe, got an instant headache and felt ill until it dried down…and this thing lasts all day!! That being said, I’m glad I only got the rollerball. I will use very little of it until it finishes ONLY because my husband likes it, then it’s bye bye forever!

Oddly enough, I like this perfume. It is fairly strong, floral, somewhat soapy, and has a bit of a powdery smell. It’s weird for me though, I generally don’t like these types of perfumes and sometimes it smells great to me, and sometimes it smells heavy and bland. It’s more interesting to me than most of their fresh fruity florals scents and I only bought this when it was discounted.

Something in here (either the Blackberry or Clementine) is too dominant and it gives the fragrance a very sour and bland smell, NOT sexy at all, very opposite to the red bottle. NO floral scent whatsoever on me 🙁

I don’t have a lot of experience with perfume but I think this smells very gross right away but then after about half a day it smelled sweet and floral. I don’t think it’s particularly “sexy” on me, mostly because spraying more than a tiny bit smells very sharp and alcohol-y for a looooong time before it smelled good. I honestly don’t like it.

This is definitely different to the original version – have we had two or three tweaks to Very Sexy now? The version that came in the rectangular bottle was the one that I enjoyed the most.
Whilst I don’t out-and-out dislike this version, I can’t say that I particularly like it, either. This is because I can’t detect any of the listed notes; this has such a strong pepper note, that everything else is smothered underneath it. There’s the sense of rich, darker florals, but I can’t pick any out from the jumble.
Victoria’s Secret group this as a warm fragrance, but something about it seems cold to me, even though the almost overwhelming pepper is indeed warm – maybe it’s just because this fragrance doesn’t have a personality on me.

An OK scent that does not really stand out. It first came to me as floral when I applied it right out from the bottle, but in 10 minutes it dried down to an aquatic smell only.

Very bland scent. A fresh floral with moderate longevity & silage. This wont stand out or make you at all memorable. There is nothing really bad to say about it, its just lackluster.

Bought this last in 2012 And loved it! Just ran out and went to repurchase a week ago. The new version smells nothing like the version on the shelves in 2013. I called customer service and they said no formulation change just a new bottle. Sorry my nose can tell the difference. Then the rep tells me oh well the scent changes after a year or two so best to use it up and not let it get old. So frustrating I wad clearly talking about the bottle. I was literally comparing the smell fresh out of the box in 2012 to the smell fresh out in 2017. If you like more fruity notes definitely buy the 2017 version. If you were hoping to replace with the original peppery smell you will be disappointed. Best to go to Sephora and try to find something similar.

Honestly everyone says it’s the same perfume in a new bottle, but it does NOT smell like the original Very Sexy perfume that I had in 2010.
This one is much sharper and more sour. The previous one was more warm and spicy. I don’t know what they did with this perfume, but it just doesn’t work anymore. I bought a whole set thinking I used to love it, so why not give it a try again and it was in the buy one get one free during Christmas, and I regret picking this set out.
I’m just trying to find someone that likes this enough for me to give it to them, Other than that, the bottle is nice and I’m just keeping it in my room for decoration.

Yum! I adore this classic, and it’s a classic to me since I’ve loved it straight since 9th grade and am 29 now. Just that right blend of floral, aquatic, sweet, and musky that enhances everyone’s body chemistry. This one never fails to garner compliments and it’s surprisingly nuanced as well, not that a scent this pretty wouldn’t still be wearable if linear but Very Sexy for Her manages to shift through the fruit and musk throughout its time on my skin, fading, clinging to locks of hair and collarbones in a careless, natural way. This is a great confidence booster for me.

To me it smells very heavy, like a strong heavy perfume mixed with sweat actually. Not sexy at all.

I am not a big fan of it.
It had a tang that was too…masculine for me.

Victoria’s Secret are such a copycat. The bottle is crystal noir’s cap (versace), mon jasmin noir’s “neck” (bvlgari), and the body is kinda like alien (especially the small one).Fabulous is absolute Premiere by gucci and Fearless is like the flowerbomb.
The scents are dupes too, mixed and retouched. You can’t fool me.
I do enjoy their scents though, that’s what they wanted and did – to make safe scents. And the safe scent is a safe sale so…yeah.
There are many different styles for their scents so be careful when blind buying. Also they don’t list all of the notes.

Very Sexy EDP is a nice perfume, but I don’t find it “sexy” at all. To me, this is a young woman’s scent (18-25). It’s exactly what the notes listed above say. Upon initial spritz, this is an explosion of blackberry. The clementine and vanilla orchid show up shortly after, and the perfume pretty much stays there. It’s not bad – in fact, I like it, but I think it’s a pretty boring and safe scent (assuming you’re not over-spraying). I think it lacks the sophistication to be deemed “sexy”. Maybe “flirty” or “cute” would be a better description for it?
Longevity – I get about 6 hours out of it. Sillage – initially moderate, but after about 4 hours it becomes soft. I see that most seem to recommend it for nighttime, but I think Very Sexy EDP could be okay during the day as long as you’re not going overboard. As far as seasons, I think this leans fall/winter.

    THE BEST OF VICTORIA SECRETS
    At No. 5
    VERY SEXY EAU DE PARFUM
This EDP is a pretty sweet berry scent. It’s straight up berry, blackberry like putting your nose to actual blackberries. Something about it also smelled of cassis/cassia like grapes with a little bit of booze. It’s fruity and intoxicating like a fruit cocktail.
The blackberries embrace a clementine citrus which is juicy and delicious, fresh and appetizing. It’s orange flavor gives it a lift and this is possibly the VS version of neroli notes. It has a fruity opening that I like. It’s casual and very easy to wear, nothing sexy about it, not glamorous and not a date night perfume. It’s something to wear to school or to work without fearing the consequences. No one is going to think this is too much or too strong.
The vanilla and the orchid notes are sweet and edible. Smells like edible flowers and the vanilla is to die for. In addition I also really like the look of this bottle. The largest size can last you all year. This is not the best of the VS lines and it’s a poorer weaker formulation compared to the original it’s based on, but it’s enjoyable.
This is selling in every Victoria Secrets store and has replaced the original Very Sexy which is a shame. I have recently experienced Very Sexy in it’s vintage form and it’s amazing.

I enjoy its sweetness sometimes, and it is quite sweet.
Pepper is there, I think, and vanilla and blackberry and a bit of amber. Overall a nice perfume that I nevertheless wouldn’t make my signature.

Fragrance Review For Very Sexy Victoria’s Secret
    Eau De Parfum
    Notes: Orchid Clementine Blackberry
Essentially the same as Very Sexy the original minus the cappuccino, vanilla, amber and musk notes. What you get is more of a berry scent. This is a blackberry bomb. It’s awfully cheap smelling and girly girl but sometimes I don’t mind that association. It is not as good as the first VS Very Sexy. It’s like it’s kid sister. This is a fruity berry combo. The clementine is much more pronounced than in Very Sexy. The orchid is way in the background. This lacks the top middle and base note structure so it’s the same scent from the first spritz to the dry down. It doesn’t develop or progress into other scents. This is easy to wear, light, inoffensive, something for the office or to wear when you’re very close to other people all day. Sweet and fruity, simple, much too simple. Recommended for girls in junior high or high school.

I remember when I bought the original version of Very Sexy in 2002-it was my first real V Secret perfume buy, and I thought it had a very womanly, grown smell. I was 17 then and couldn’t appreciate it, and I thought it might’ve been too old for me. This version of it IS better because it heightens the sexy and sensuous clementine, blackberry and vanilla notes which I’m crazy for. I don’t miss the pimento, cactus or cappuccino notes. This is the only fragrance reformulation that I’m cool with. 100% LOVE now!

I emailed Victoria’s Secret asking if the perfume had changed or just the bottle. They insist that the perfume is exactly the same just in a new bottle. They said they removed a few of the notes like the pepper and cappuccino from the description list but that they are still in there and the fragrance itself has not changed. I own an old bottle and a brand new one, they smell the same to me.

Honestly, I bought this as a gift!
But, I decided to spray it before I gave it away… I had to keep it.
    Shhhh. It’s a secret!!!
This is such a sweet scent, clean, berry like and I can smell the citrus.
I feel like it has a powdery finish.
    I love this.
So glad I decided to “test” it out first.
I would wear this in fall or winter.
The bottle is beautiful, I keep it at my finances house
He enjoys it very much! 😉

Sweet and girly pretty fragrance. I love the clementine in this scent fresh and delicious. The blackberry is the scent that most stands out and the vanilla and orchid notes are giving this scent that beautiful sexiness. I think the orchid is the sexiest flower of them all. This has vanilla too so if you like fruity florals with vanilla you’ll love it. I have been wearing it this morning and everywhere I go sighs and smiles from everyone.

Love this! It truly is Very Sexy! For a long time I was put off by VS fragrances because I snobbishly thought they were a little cheap, but recently I went to the mall to buy some lingerie and when I got home with the VS bag, I kept going over to smell the perfumed tissue paper. I couldn’t get that scent out of my mind…and I think I’ve finally found what it is!
I have been wearing the rollerball today and longevity and sillage isn’t as great as some of their others, but the blackberry and vanilla orchid are super prominent and just completely addicting. I will most definitely be getting a full bottle as well!!

First things first – I love the bottle. It looks like a far-Eastern glass vial made for carrying a love letter between nobles, or, in a more familiar realm, for storing an intense and alluring elixir.
True to its name, when I spray Very Sexy, it -is- sexy. It’s sweet, and a bit sharp, with a kind of woodsy darkness to it that I can’t really figure out given the listed notes. Maybe it’s some of the darker aspects of blackberry, undercurrents of stem and brambles. Maybe the rich red and black of the bottle are playing with my head but it seems to be echoed well by the dark and juicy depths of the fragrance.
As it dries, it shifts to a more jammy-fruit fragrance, with the floral nuance lingering behind. Berry is clearly dominant, but a lush citrus is there, as well. It’s a very “wet” juicy smell, a little sweet and mostly nectarous. It reminds me a little of Daisy Dream Forever, though more hespiridic and with less warmth. Still, a sweet vanilla scent runs below. Very Sexy is truly very attractive, though I wish the mysterious complexity of the first spray stuck around longer.
Speaking of, that ends up being my significant complaint with the fragrance at large – it’s an easily appealing scent, but I wish it’d stick around longer. This has unfortunately been my experience with most VS juice – often beautiful fragrances but just not made to last.

This fragrance held so much memories for me and I finally ran out of my bottle of the old concoction but then had to buy the new one this one and it smells so much more frail and a huge loss of life. I think that they screwed up once they took the pepper note out and it took the spicy part of the very sexy that is extremely rare in anything but Angel in there.

Is this the same original scent, just a different bottle? or is a completely different scent?

  31. :

I tried a rollerball of this and sadly did not like it. While applying it I was reminded of one of those ” our impression of…” perfumes. Sometimes those can be alright but most of the time I am not impressed. This perfume has a general deep musky tone and I really did not enjoy it. This was not necessarily a scrubber, but there are tons of better scents out there. The notes listed above sound nice, but I wasn’t able to find them in this. I had to return it, which thankfully the store was very nice about.

  32. :

The original, the 2002 version, was perfection. They keep remaking it and remaking it. It seems to be getting worse each time. The original got compliments galore, I loved it, drove the boys crazy (and still does as I have the tiniest amount left for really special occasions). This is nothing compared to that. Not the same smell, not the same attractiveness to others, no longevity, just nothing. So want the real one back.
Edit; So, I bought this. I so miss the original but this is the closest version to that so far. I like it OK. It’s growing on me more every time I wear it.

  33. :

    5 out of 5

Entirely subjective, but this perfume doesn’t strike me as a sexy scent. It’s a bit more classic and refined. More of something a young woman would wear during the day. Even though there is a sweetness to it, it is not a sickly kind of sweet. It’s not something that calls to mind the boudoir. Nevertheless, still a lovely perfume! Thumbs up VS!

  34. :

    4 out of 5

Stop reformulating! If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! Gorgeous bottle! Crappy perfume!!! For shame!!!

  35. :

    5 out of 5

Victoria’s Secret has so many three-note perfumes that I can’t help but wonder if, at corporate headquarters, they have a slot machine: pull the lever, and it gives you three fruits and flowers at random. This time it landed on clementine, blackberry, and vanilla orchid. I wouldn’t call this fragrance sexy; it’s a light, fresh, fruity perfume that could reasonably be mistaken for a Marc Jacobs Lola or Daisy flanker, as the blackberry note has a bit of green. I would wear this to the office without hesitation.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

I like it, but it is just a bit too sour for me. I can smell mostly fruits. Moreover, after 2 hours I can barely smell it on my wrist. Sexy scent should have more stillage!

  37. :

    4 out of 5

This could be the sexiest perfume I’ve ever smelled. But I guess I will not actually use it in 5 years. I mean it is not the scent for school or daily hang out. I do have a boyfriend and he agrees that this is a mature scent for women no less than 30……totally sexy though!

  38. :

    3 out of 5

Very Sexy it is indeed a sexy fragrance but I would not wear it on a night out, dinner or anything fancy, honestly. It is that kind of sexy wearable, day time, running errands type of scent for me. I agree with the fact that it is better to not over spray Very Sexy or it turns into a sharp “I don’t want to be anywhere near” parfume.

  39. :

    3 out of 5

Smelling straight from the bottle it smells too masculine and sharp. But lightly applied on the skin it is actually quite nice. I just add one spritz to my wrist and one to my neck. More than that, you’ll smell like a dude.
Update: member MeaNutri said regarding the 2007 version of this that you should apply at night before doing your hair and make-up to go out. I whole heartedly agree with this statement. Because like she said, this fragrance needs about an hour to settle down because the opening is quite sharp, but it settles real sexy 😉

  40. :

    Completely subjective review:
    “Very Sexy” turns me off.
I didn’t even bother to separate notes. It’s a classic, sharp & sweet “perfume” stench, exactly why so many people are wary of anyone who claims to like perfumery.

i kid you not, at christmas time I was looking at the bottle of the night fragrance in the black bottle and I thought, why dont they have this packaging in very sexy which I like the most out of all their fragrances. I could not beleive my eyes when i saw this. thank you!! the other packaging looked cheap and this looks gorgeous.

This is the same exact product as before, same notes. I do not agree in the slightest that this is now a fruity floral. This is what the VS website says:
The sultry fragrance you know and love, now in a sleek, sophisticated new bottle.
From what I can tell it has not been reformulated at all.

  43. :

    4 out of 5

Yes, it is ONLY a new bottle with the same notes, just as it says in the desciption. Not so hard to understand.

  44. :

    4 out of 5

Has anyone smelled this to see if it’s the same formula as the most recent Very Sexy from 2012? The listed notes on the database here for the 2012 version are not exact, but similar to this version. Plus on the Victoria’s Secret website it says it’s now in a sleek, sophisticated new bottle, which makes me think only the bottle is new.
Edit: Oh, and the description above says “familiar notes”, so that doesn’t have to mean exact. Lots of times they update or change formulas. In this case the VS website is correct and it is only an updated bottle. The perfume remains as it always was. Victoria’s Secret perfume names can be really confusing. So many flankers and so many similar names like The Body and Body by Victoria. I wish they’d stop that crap.
