Description

Versilia Vintage is a new collection by the house of Profumi del Forte presented in autumn 2009. The fragrant pair revives the moments we thought were long gone and lost. Olfactive déjà vu, mature and enriched is finally back and brings the peak of magic!

The collection includes two fragrances which are embodiment of ecstasy and summer period in drops of new perfumes.

Endless sand beaches… Rainbow in black and white pictures.. . Yesterday as today… Experience brought by Profumi del Forte through their editions promises life and future, vibrant curiosity and quality. Without new revivals and nostalgia but timeless style shining towards future…

Collection Profumi del Forte Versilia Vintage encompasses Ambra Mediterranea – sweet amber embraced by an oriental woody composition, and Boise – a citrusy, floral woody concert of aromas.

Versilia Vintage Boise reinterprets how perfumers admire pine forests by making a precious and delicate composition with character. Top notes await us with bitter orange, bergamot and vetiver, a heart features lavender, Bourbon geranium and honey, while a base includes cedar from Texas, Indonesian patchouli, Tonka and elemi from the Philippines. The fragrance arrives in 100 ml edp dark flacon.

Versilia Vintage is a pleasant woody, fresh spicy, citrusy scent for warm weather, day and night. It feels unisex but I get vibes from other masculine scents especially at the opening. Its cousins are Narciso Rodriguez Narciso Rodriguez for Him Bleu Noir Hermes Voyage line, Cartier Declaration, Fleuve Tendre Les Liquides Imaginaires.
It opens with a blast of citruses (bergamot / bitter orange) and spices (I get cardamom and traces of star anise) followed immediately by lavender and geranium. After some minutes emerges a strong patchouli / cedar note which is the dominant couple along with geranium and intensive elemi. This is not a lavender scent as shows the voting. It’s a cedar based scent with some spices and herbs. The tonka beans are discreet and come at the late dry down. There’s also a dusty-woody vibe in it. I can’t detect honey here.
Sillage and projection are moderate. Longevity is above the average. It leans to masculine scents imo.

I’ll just ditto alfarom’s review. To me, this fragrance opens with a nice citrus-floral burst and later transitions into a very nice patchouli-cedar-tonka scent with a pleasant light sweetness; it’s just a ready nice fragrance. While I do enjoy this fragrance, I don’t love it (just not quite my style)…especially for the steep asking price.
Versilia Boise last 5-6 hours on my skin and projects moderately so performance is decent but could be better. I find Versilia Boise to be an interesting darker type of fragrance and a solid like for me – definitely worth checking-out.

Thank you both – FourthSense and glitteralex – for your terrific reviews! They made me want this, and so I have it now! And I love it. I really do. It IS very masculine, but I do find some men’s fragrances suit me very well, and this one does, I’m very pleased to say!!!
I love it. I love the very interesting mix of sharp and sweet, and I do think the cedar is the main, dominating note after a few hours, which is fine with me, as I adore cedar! I love patchouli too, and I find that it isn’t – thankfully – completely squashed by the cedar. It’s just there, softly, and it’s gorgeous. And the lavender is sweet and zingy, beautiful.
The dry-down is lovely, sweetish, beautifully resiny and woody.
    Wonderful.

Versilia Vintage just screams Cary Grant- in loafers, sunglasses, and a Sunbeam Alpine convertible. This scent is unusual in that it combines the 1950s Italian Pine note (ala Pino Sylvestre) with creamy Tonka. Lavender gives lift, and the Geranium adds spice, which keep this from being flat and heavy as scents with a Honey note are wont to be. The lynch-pin of this fragrance is Cedar; the oil is of exceptional quality and both dominates and anchors the composition. It overwhelms the Patchouli completely. While this is marketed as unisex, as a woman I would have a hard time wearing this after the Vanilla-Spice wore off and the Cedar took over. All in all, a beautiful scent that does indeed have a vintage vibe.

    This is a beauty.
This captures the nostalgic feeling of the beautiful landscapes of Tuscany. I have being there several times, and it transports me back there through its aroma.
You realize that you are at the presence of a truly art piece of perfumery, when such an effect is accomplished by using ingredients that are not native of the area. This is one of the reason I felt in love with Niche perfumery.
I cannot add a note on how the notes play in their different facets, because the entire journey is just like going from town to town in Tuscany, a beautiful experience.

Sad, no stores in north america. Can’t buy their perfumes from Italie.
    Only from online stores.

Versilia Vintage Boisè it’s a pretty nice woody/resins concoction with a sparkling aromatic citrus and lavender opening and a moderately sweet drydown. There’s something in it that vaguely reminds me of Jubilation XXV (maybe the sweet-ish resinous base?) and something else I can’t put my finger on. I don’t know if this is by Duchafour (considering he already orchstrated a bunch of the I Profumi Del Forte), but it definitely has his style: kind of transparent with a strong oriental vibe. Part Jubilation, part Kyoto, part Timbuktu with a touch of Eau D’Italie (the line not the eponymous fragrance) thrown in… Overall this is a very nice fragrace and, as usual with I Profumi Del Forte, high-quality stuff.
