Description

This modern fragrance of a beautiful and rare floral bouquet is composed of elements of the Mediterranean and it represents Versace woman perfectly with its authentic expression and a fusion of freshness and energy. The new fragrance by the house of Versace was named Versace Versense and it promises a lot with its name and composition. It is created for irresistible experience for all senses.

The fragrance Versace Versense is composed of natural tones and it is a picture of awakening of nature, evoking feeling of freedom, movement and balance of internal energy with surroundings and nature. Versense is a walk in a fragrant garden, which contributes to freshness and a stream of feelings, as well as to self-esteem and vitality.

Its composition opens with fruit of the Mediterranean: bergamot and green mandarin, and wraps you with freshness and luminous, optimistic accords with irresistible fig zests. Pleasure will rise with sparks of citruses mixed with fruity aromas. They will take us to a heart ruled by sea lily, rare flower with rare aromas, strengthened with jasmine petals and bitter-spicy accords of cardamom in an elegant way. Base notes leave a cover of woody accords of sandalwood, cedar, olive wood and sensual musk.

Flacon of this perfume is made of see-through glass, created just like its antecedent from 2008, Versace. It is coloured in light green, it is luxurious and decorated with traditional Versace symbols. The new eau de toilette is accompanied with a 200 ml perfumed bath, 200 ml perfumed body milk and 75 ml deo spray. EDT Versace Versense is available in amounts of 30, 50 and 100ml (1, 1.7 and 3 oz) edt. Advertising face for Versense is Toni Garrn, and photographer is Michelangelo di Battista.
Versense was launched in 2009.

At one point I will buy a very fresh fragrance, especially to use it in the hot summer days. For this purpose, I’ve used florals such as Chloe Chloe and Premier Jour by Nina Ricci, but I need a citrus fragrance that reminds me of the smell of a lemonade or a refreshing tea! Maybe Versense will be it, I don’t know it for sure, but I can sense the flowers here, though quiet silent and gentle.
General Impression: I like it pretty much, have to test it on skin to see it’s performance.

Crisp and clean scent. You can smell the lightly floral note with the slightest hint of fruit in it. My nose just loves this scent. Love the scent. It is beautiful. You can picture the Mediterranean with this scent.

To me, the citrus in this smells more like a bitter lime (I’m sure the color of the juice affects my perception). It’s like fresh limeade on my skin. Not exactly what I was expecting, but it’s different from anything else I own. It’s a weak scent that doesn’t project well. The drydown is a bit shampooey, but nice.

I blind bought this and was super excited to find a smaller 1 oz size. I didn’t want to waste money in case it was horrid. I immediately spritzed it on in the car and loved the blast of fresh citrus and lemon verbena. I started driving and noticed the fragrance morph into what I can only call stale Irish Spring soap. My heart immediately fell and I figured my blind buy was a bust. I occasionally have some fragrances turn into soapy messes on me and I figured this was going to be one of them. As I continued on shopping, I suddenly noticed that the fragranced had changed again to a fresh, delicate, and slightly green scent. It took about 45 minutes to an hour on my skin. The scent was just lovely at this point, softly green, delicately musky, and with a sandalwood base. I’ve worn it several times since, with always the same scent progression. This is one I have to put on immediately before dressing and by the time I get to work, it’s dried down to a really lovely, clean, and warm scent. I just smell fresh and clean, but I have withstand the soapy mess phase. If you try it and it immediately goes stale soap, I recommend not scrubbing it and seeing how it develops for you. I love Chanel Chance eau Fraiche as well, and can see some initial similarities but for me this is in no way a dupe for the Chanel. The Chanel does not develop as differently from start to finish….it’s
much more linear. Versense may be marketed as unisex but for me it is quite feminine. I actually find the Chanel much more “masculine” with the strength of the woods. Versense also has a much softer silage and projection. I can have both because I find them very different.

Reminds me of the original Versace Pour Femme EDP, but this one for sure is lighter. A good green, citrusy and woodsy scent for a change, compared to many other “sweet” fragrances. On my skin, the wood notes stood out more prominent. On that regard, I think it is suitable for cooler days for me. I can also see that it has a “masculine” tone in the dry down. Not bad at all. Sometimes I have used this one to tone down the sweetness of Giorgio Armani Sì and the result was quite satisfying.

Concidering Acqua di Gio? Try this instead! 🙂

Versace is an excentric and a bit tacky designer brand. This scent nevertheless is simple, clean, neutral, almost minimalistic, good for those days you don’t know what to wear or for warmer days. Very good! I like the fact this doesn’t take neither vanilla nor patchouli in its composition.

This is a beautiful fresh citrus in the opening…definitely on the clean side, with a warm creamy sandalwood drydown.
Too bad it only lasts about 3 hours on me. I just can’t see myself reaching for it with so little payoff.

I didn’t buy Versence until it was discontinued, and now I need to hurry up and buy a back-up before it goes the way of the Dodo. I just didn’t think I needed another green floral woody musk, but Versence sets itself apart by tempering the strident green opening with a subtle sweetness which can sometimes be lacking in similar fragrances. I just can’t identify what the soft sweet aroma is, it is so well blended. I can smell the cardamom though, which isn’t overpowering, and I enjoy this element too. My only negative comment is the short time in which Versence disappears, even after I’ve used the matching body wash and lotion. If you can pick it up cheaply however, and treat it more like an Eau de Cologne or after shower spritz, I don’t think you will be disappointed. Perfect for wearing to bed on a hot humid night. It is a shame that this is discontinued.

I’ve just blind bought the 100ml bottle and although I love citrusy perfumes, this one isn’t so fresh in my opinion, but goes more “girly” and delicate. Nice for everyday use but nothing exceptional.

First spray i got so much citruses and lemony scent, like CK All, bur then it drydown to soapy scent, like a very expensive soap. I really love this coming from Versace, my fav house.

Very, very soapy and fresh. Kind of like a sophisticated version of Irish Spring for women. I personally love how fresh it smells because I gravitate towards aquatics and clean smells. It’s very office-friendly and will project well indoors and outdoors. Don’t overspray because the soapy notes are super strong and it will be offensive.

  14. :

    3 out of 5

On first spray, this is all tart citrus with a hint of sweet cardamom. However, after 3 hours of wear, it becomes heavier on the pear note and smells like Dior J’adore or Bond No 9 Astor Place! It is light and pleasant, I think it is a safe blind buy.

  15. :

Nice fresh green scent, but kind of soapy.

I bought this for summer a few years ago and wore it all the time. Really loved it. Then I moved on to other fragrances and this one just stood in the cupboard…until today. I still really like it. It’s a beautiful crisp citrus, without being sharp. It’s a bit sharp the first few minutes, but that softens quickly. It’s slightly woody and floral and turns a bit sweeter as it warms up on the skin. It’s absolutely gorgeous during the summer. It’s easy to wear and office appropriate. On me the longevity and sillage are slightly less than moderate, but that is exactly what I want with this type of fragrance. If you like citruses, this is a must try.

love this perfume!!! very feminine!! so fresh and elegant…. not unisex at all… in my opinion. Chance by Channel on the other hand ( the green one) is a bit masculine..

  18. :

Wearing it today..(I’m a guy) and it’s definitely a Unisex scent. Nice citrus, wood and florals. Fresh and clean for the summer. It has a lemongrass/lemon verbena..sort of vibe.. and an slight bitterness. Nicely balanced and pleasant musk in the dry-down. Reminds me a bit of L’occitane Lemon Verbena in the opening.

  19. :

    5 out of 5

For me this is an UNISEX parfum, citrus, fresh and clean, moderate sillage and longevity. Nice option for summer and beach!

  20. :

    3 out of 5

Literally one of my all time favourite scents. Always reach for it during summer/spring. It smells like a more strong Light Blue but with tons of lasting power on me. It is for women, but trust me it smells very unisex.

  21. :

    5 out of 5

This came on super citrus-y and at first, I recoiled. Citrus doesn’t sit well on my skin. After a few minutes, a hesitant sniff revealed the tartness of the citrus calmed down and some floral sweetness with fig and cardamom came through. Not a lot of sweetness though. It is a summer scent so the sweetness will not suffocate you. It’s just enough to balance out the tartness of the tart citrus opening. After a couple times of wearing, I got used to the citrus opening.
It’s slightly soapy in the middle notes and dries down to wood and musk with a tinge of sweetness in the background. Stays close to the skin and not much sillage. You might be able to wear it in early fall, but once temperatures drop, it may feel too cold when you first put it on and be off-putting. The dry down is warmer though. Does it remind of Chance Eau Fraiche? Yes, in the beginning, but this has no patchouli so it doesn’t dry down the same way.
It is discontinued but you can find it at TJ Maxx or online for a reasonable price. I can’t see how this could possibly offend someone. This is definitely safe for the office and might be suitable for wear around individuals sensitive to perfume.

  22. :

I can’t really put my finger on any of the notes, I just get the vague sense that I’m eating lemongrass.
Very pleasant to me, I’ve been wearing it on and off for about 6 to 8 years.
It feels comforting and ethereal in it’s simplicity.
I believe it would work as a unisex scent very nicely.
Warm, summery, definitely green as everything would suggest.
Almost like peeling citrus fruit on a sea shore.

  23. :

    5 out of 5

Fresh, green and inoffensive. Weak lasting power, over-citrusy at the beginning. A nice summer office scent that won’t tire you out.

  24. :

    5 out of 5

I’m not a fan of it, either.
Reminds me of products to clean your toilet.
I find it quite harsh and synthetic, it needs something to balance this out.
But hey, if you’re one of those who love it, good for you.
Tastes differ and everyone has their own opinion 🙂

Doesnt have depth, for kids and teens. not really fresh and exciting more like there is something missing. I dont want to make it a bad review, just not my taste. i just like more dynamicity in scents.

  26. :

    4 out of 5

An explosion of nature, fresh and natural. I absolutely love this. I am partial to more natural scents and white flowers and green notes rather than any other fruit or gourmand notes. To each his own, I say.

    Mint chewing gum, very dissapointed.
Something i would spray on my childs clothes to freshen them up

  28. :

    4 out of 5

I absolutely love this but I want to give it more time before springing for a full bottle. I’d own every scent in the dang world if I could because I seem to find something I like about every scent I come into contact with, but THIS is a breath of fresh air quite literally. I can see how it’s similar to Chance Eau Fraiche, but this is even more fresh, even more green, less sweet. Such an uplifting scent for any time of the year although I’ll assume it blooms in the heat (haven’t tried it in the heat yet though, just the winter). It’s dewey and green and just a little sweet. If I weren’t trying to shed my fragrance weight, I’d purchase this in a heartbeat, which isn’t something I typically do after testing something. I’m usually a blind buy kind of gal which got me into trouble because now I own too much! This is definitely worth testing if you like green scents. Similar to Peace, Love, and Daises by Bath and Body Works (was a limited time summer release years back). This is obviously of higher quality but just a thought! Helps aid seasonal depression because I definitely feel better wearing this during the wintry blues.

This one smells very unisex. I actually enjoy this more than the male counter part. It got some floral nuances that the male version lacks, but it gives it a little more dept and personality.

  30. :

    5 out of 5

I just got this for wearing this spring, I tested it today and i really enjoy the fresh, juiciness of this scent. Its very appropriately green color. I get glistening citrus+ pear, light aquatic flowers and maybe apple or apple blossom? I saw people compared this to Chance au Tendre but it reminds me more of the original DKNY Be Delicious. I dont percieve the cardamom or sandalwood too much which is good as im not that fond of those. I was unsure why people thought of this as unisex, its pretty girlie at first spritz but i can say the dry down is def more unisex. Decent sillage not extremely long lasting but more than 4 hours.

  31. :

First of all – we are talking about completely unisex type of fragrance tha opens up with incredibly fresh and spicy punch of bergamot and citruses and a hint of pear – although not very sweet one. After a while, lily and cardamom and musk join this party dancing in a corner watching citruses still rocking the centre of a dance floor.
    Great refreshing summer scent.

  32. :

    4 out of 5

I’m not usually big on citrus, but this is totally fun and whimsical without being too much. It reminds me of green Skittles. It is sweet, but not harsh or chemical at all. Anyone could pull this off. Very casual and comfy.

  33. :

    5 out of 5

A fresh summer scent, a bit green, a bit creamy, a bit citrusy with white flowers in the background. You certainly smelled it in a dozen other perfumes before. I wouldn`t get it for myself, as I have other summer perfumes a lot more distinctive than this one, but if I didn`t I might get a small bottle just to have something for the warmer days. Anyone who likes fresh scents will probably like it. The price they`re selling it at is overrated though, but it`s probably because it`s Versace..

  34. :

    4 out of 5

This is amazing, a really sparkeling and creamy green that projects and lasts.
Starts sweet and sour citrus green with gourmand elemet – like key lime pie but fresher and doused in olive oil. To start the pear is more detectable than fig. The jasmin is narcotic and powdery.
The creamy green vibes last through drydown but with wood and ginger entering the mix. I do get a bit of figgy wood latter on and vibes citrus somehow lasts all throughout, strange but true.
If i striped this raw it would be: Lime, Jasmin, Olive and Sandalwood = citrus froral green creamy-wood ⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤
    My new favoyrite 😛

My favorite summer fragrance. It was my summer signature for several seasons. Love it, hope it’ll be on the market for many years to come.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

I love it, I miss it, I want it. This scent is masculine and different to most fragrances on the market for women- it could easily pass for unisex in my opinion. I get bergamot, cedar, cardamom and olives. This scent is so sexy. I used to spray all of the time- however I went through a phase when I thought I didn’t like it anymore- this is because first spritz is very chemical however the dry down after a few minutes is truly mesmerizing it screams sexy. Citrus woody perfumes have and will always be my favourite, and this fragrance reaffirmed why this is so- I tested this scent yesterday and I am smelling the strip as I type this now and this fragrance is just profound. I am on Ebay right now looking to buy it. Definitely in the top 10 sexiest fragrances I have ever tried. It is citrus woody and aromatic which gives it a creamy well blended softness. This perfume is the definition of a citrus done well. Definitely in my top 5 citrus fragrances of all time. A true treasure. Perfect for spring and fall- However I am planning on wearing all year round.
    Scent rating- 8.5/10

A spring summer fragrance with moderate sillage and longevity. It can be worn at office as well.
It is very fresh, luminous and clean with floral citrus notes.

  38. :

    5 out of 5

A summer favourite. Sharp, fresh and clean. No mustiness here.
This scent will always make me think of Italy, which is where I first bought it. It makes me think of long walks in Capri, sunsets in Sorrento and wandering the back streets of Florence.
It is stylish, sophisticated, and not overly sweet.

  39. :

Goshh this is one of my favorite women’s fragrances. It straight up seduces me. I don’t think too many ladies would be disappointed with it either. Definitely a classic in my opinion.

Versense was part of a 5-piece Versace mini perfume set I received as a gift. I hadn’t heard of this fragrance before and I really like it. It’s very citrusy and aromatic with a fresh spiciness and a nice cedar dry down. I think this may smell great on men too. I hope I can find more of this. Very nice!

  41. :

    5 out of 5

I tried it on my skin 1 time test, from a friend who has 100ml edt.
Not my type. Newbie. Long, with a tail. Not huge, but feel at a distance, you do not need to approach.
Here bergamot does not like me. Combined with oakmoss, with fig. Somewhere there delicate narcissus and jasmine give floral tones, but such tiny, after 30 minutes appear on the skin.
    Not my type of green.
I understand that people who like these types are satisfied because they are lasting.

  42. :

    5 out of 5

This is an absolute love trigger to me. I’m usually into very upbeat/feminine/loud (white) florals, but this is the definition of comforting, smooth, skin-like scent. I guess it’s conventionally a warm weather scent, but I can imagine it as fitting and soothing also during winter. The citrus is obvious, but on my skin, as opposed to the paper strip, it’s a really creamy blend, with fig and musk also getting the spotlight. All in all, I can recommend it to any woman with a smart, but feminine and charming style. It’s super pleasant and safe, but still with a strong personality and definitely recognizable after smelling it even few times. I think the house of Versace should have named this one as Eros instead…

  43. :

A sparkling citrus delight that smells of flowers and soap. I love the sandalwood dry down and the fig and cardomom. Some colleagues of mine said they recognise me from this smell. I can hardly smell it after a few hours but it obviosly does linger.

  44. :

    5 out of 5

To my taste very strong and unbearable.
    ADVICE
This is a expensive perfume, so if you are going to buy it, I recommend use it and check how this perfume fits in your skin.
I was looking for a fresh, herbal perfume, In my first approach I had a very good impression with this one, citrus and flower scent, perfect for what I was looking for. Lately when I was using it I did not like it anymore, was smelling like a cologne for men. I keep it out of use, later I was thinking what was bad on it. His longevity is strong to me and wiht sillance. I associate this smell with a person who use it and I do not like it.
Later my boyfriend smell my perfume when I tried to use it again and he asked me if a man passed before ther. Clearly is not a femenine odour. Do not match with the early notes, made me disapointing after bought it 5 years ago, I will put if for sale. I dislike it know.

I came across this as a really low price blind buy last summer and never thought I would fall in love with this citrusy white floral. I now own 3 back up bottles and have also purchased it as gifts for family and friends, that’s how good I think it is. It also is fairly long lasting and just perfect for spring and summer.

    * These are my personal experiences/thoughts with this fragrance. Yours/others may differ. *
    Initial – bergamot + orange + musk
    Drydown – lily + musk + cedar + sandalwood
    Duration – 4-6 hours
    Projection – soft
Experiences – Nice summertime woody citrus fragrance. Projects much better in warmer temperatures. In colder weather this is an almost indiscernible skin-scent.
Quick Thoughts – citrus, clean, woody, musky, unisex

So beautiful and elegant, a refreshing green perfume with Mediterranean character.
This perfume became unexpectedly a new love for me.
Refreshing citrus, cardamom, olive wood… all ingredients are so well blended.
    Good projection and longevity.

Ej mi piel huele a una mezcla de peras y notas verdes.es un perfume suave, no tan citrico como parece tambien siento un poco dulce. Ideal para primavera verano ya que es un perfume sutil.

  49. :

    3 out of 5

don’t know what happened to the perfume when I sprayed it on me, but it left me with nothing but a flat scent. Does remind me of a swamp oddly enough

  50. :

    3 out of 5

The citruses are strong in this one and they’re very sharp and sour. I can’t enjoy it cause to me it smells just like a lemon scented dish soap, or some natural bath product.

  51. :

A mood changer indeed! the citrus top notes makes you smile, it is like reminscing good happy memories (a very good vibes. After 30 mins, the scent will become a floral citrus combo. This green gem is truly a masterpiece if you are looking for a fresh aura. It suits best during spring/summer season.

Few years ago, i gor this perfume to Christmas from my boyfriend. What a lovely surprise – the nice scent of herbs and citruses, not too sweet, very clean and refreshing. Super for the spring and hot summer days. For me one of the bests!

  53. :

    3 out of 5

On me, it smells super-generic like laundry sheets or hand soap, one that says “Fresh Green” or “Green tea & verbena” 🙁 Yuck.

  54. :

Mood changer.Try this at late spring or summer morning. It has relaxing chill aura. You’ll feel the refreshing breeze much more with this.Imagine fresh green grass with tiny drops of water on it, true blue sky without any clouds, bright yellow sun which is not so burning yet but you can feel the warmth, singing birds, fresh flowery spring breeze and a crystal clear river. And all of this in a tiny versace bottle. It’s life and it will wake you up.I used to wear this everyday in the past and now I can’t just because it smells like memories.Still love it after 4 years, and I am that kind of person who gets bored after few spritz.

I love this so much <3 it’s so citrusy and woody, little floral and soooo lovelyyy. I’m just in love with it. It’s soo amazing. It’s totally spring/summer scent. But I will wear it in winter even, to remember all the positive emotions which it brings me. It’s full of joy and happiness for me <3.
The only con for me is the longevity, it lasts over 3-4 hours on me, max. But I still love it.
    scores:
    scent 9/10
    silage 7/10
    longevity 5/10
price average (i’d love it to be cheaper)

  56. :

Smells lovely when sprayed in the air, but not on my skin unfortunately. I get a really unpleasant musty, old lady whiff!

  57. :

    3 out of 5

    Very verbena
Light dolce and gabbana light blue. And Armani acqua Di gioia a bit, has a bug spray moment in the middle, it’s a bit thick on the lemon and lime smell, though it’s maybe a herb which I’m not familiar with causing that.
Try on its own, or when trying other scents of that type so it won’t clash so much
    Good lasting power and sillage

  58. :

    4 out of 5

Sparkling, fresh and elegant. It’s citrus but it’s not just one more summer crisp fragrance. Not just a clean smell scent.
It’s what i wanted Acqua di Gioia to be. Love it! A beautiful signature fragrance for a sunny country

  59. :

    4 out of 5

This coming from someone who doesn’t wear fresh/green fragrances: I love it! The citrus is a lot like citrus ade, diffuse and all-inclusive so you can’t pick out which fruits are present. I’m sure I’m smelling cucumber here too. After a couple hours, out comes the jasmine and white musk. This is very different from a lot of women’s scents out there today. It’s fresh and feminine without a lot of florals. I highly recommend it.

  60. :

    Is it discontinued ?

  61. :

    5 out of 5

I LOVE this fragrance!! I can’t believe it’s discontinued! It smells sooooo good!! It smells like crisp lime, with a tiny hint of fresh sweetness and a light bitter smell all in one. It reminds me of a dark cloudy day at the beach with the sun slightly shining through the dark clouds.

  62. :

    4 out of 5

This was horrible on me. There was no citrus, just some unrecognized note that I can only describe as “dry”, cloying and choking. After 4 vigorous attempts to wash it off my skin and a laundering of the coat I had on I can still smell it. Why are the ones you don’t like long lasting and the ones you love so fleeting.

  63. :

    4 out of 5

    Greeny and lemony.
This didn’t develop on my skin at all and remained greeny and lemony. Somewhat cold and sterile. I’m not often a fan of very fresh fragrances and this one isn’t any closer to swinging me. It’s not enveloping enough and a bit too sharp.

  64. :

    4 out of 5

After the first blast of citrus/lime the second wave is the floral one . White florals then become warmer by the musk which is strong. Eventually all blends very well and in a interesting way- perfect for people who don’t like sweet perfumes!
This can be a “go to” fragrance in the summer. It smells fresh citrus without smelling like shampoo, has no sweetness and it’s well blended – not boring at all, it has some uniqueness to it !
It’s long lasting as well suitable for work because it’s not sweet/sexy – it’s elegant !

  65. :

This review is based on the memory of the perfume I had a couple years ago.
I remember browsing in the perfume shop without any particular type of fragrance in mind. But one thing I knew for sure was that I definitely didn’t want a fresh citrus fragrance. I was in a phase where all citrus fragrances were too sharp, too obvious, too cliche for me… It was spring or summer and the shop assistant kept showing me some bestselling fruity florals that all smelled alike to me and I wasn’t impressed by anything. Also I randomly tried a couple of fragrances because I liked either the bottle or the name or both and Versense was one of them.
First spray = “oh no, another shrill lime juice” and I almost dismissed it immediately.
The second sniff 20 seconds later = “BUT WAIT, what is this?” A very pleasant spiciness (cardamom?) started to peek through the citruses that began to smooth out already into fresh, clean and uplifting cocktail that was not cliche at all.
One of the reviewers wrote that this is similar to gin and maybe that is why I loved it. I love good gin! 🙂

It’s a fresh, citrusy fragrance. Unfortunately I don’t get much more apart from the lemony notes and cedar, which make the fragrance sour and spicy. It’s definitely a refreshing one, but I prefer Channel Eau Fraiche because of its sweet accents.

It is very fresh, relaxing, not sour. Perfect for summer because it is very hard to find good perfume for summer in our tropical country. However, it is hard to find, is that true they stop produce it?

I found this after I literally chased a women in the supermarket, asking her what she was wearing. Unfortunately, I’ve never smelled on myself, what I smelled on her, although this is a great light fragrance. Although the tones, seem to work better for summer, I can see wearing this year round for work as I cannot imagine it being offensive to anyone.
I cannot smell it for long on myself, but even after being at work for 8 hours, I’ve received compliments on it, as well as receiving compliments on it from teenagers. It seems to be a perfume that many can enjoy.

This is my go to fragrance in the summer. It smells fresh citrus without smelling like soap, no sweetness and doesn’t smell cheap instead it is well balanced safe, long lasting. Good blind buy. I love it

I fell in love instantly! Another blind buy, this time one of the best I did! I love it! It’s beautiful, fresh & citrusy, not over powering at all, but still strong enough to feel. Wooow! I love it!

This has been my go-to office fragrance- it’s wonderfully fresh and won’t offend sensitive noses. I probably won’t repurchase this because I don’t find it particularly interesting but it’s polished, clean, slightly sporty, and totally likeable which makes it good for days when I’m meeting new clients. It’s worth a shot if you’re looking for a nice green fragrance.

I always sprayed this one at the Versace counter in Macy’s. Very soft, subtle citrus – mostly lime. I think it would probably be best in the summer…in very hot weather. But it’s early Fall here in New York, and I don’t think this will last very long. However, for the next few days it’s going to be unseasonably warm, so I’ll give it a test drive.

My very first perfume, and in light of my inexperience, I purchased it after smelling it for 30 seconds on paper. However, it worked out well for me! A strong burst of citrus that mellows out relatively quickly into a softer, warmer scent (I’m assuming it’s the cardamom at play). Lasts for around 5 hours on me, but becomes a skin scent at the 1 hour mark, which is a major downside. Hopefully once summer comes around the scent will project more, so I don’t have to keep sniffing my wrist to get a whiff.

I’ve already professed my love for this one but felt inspired to do so again. In the summer Versense whisks me to the Mediterranean. It’s so much more than your average citrus, projecting a salty vibe sweetened with fig. Fig is almost exotic compared to the supermarket fruit notes in today’s ubiquitous fruity florals. Back to the point. The weather is turning to fall and I love Versense as much for its cedar as I do for its citrus sea breeze. I love it I love it and I can’t imagine life without it! It makes me so nervous seeing Versense at T.J. Maxx. There is no substitute and it must never be discontinued!

Thrilled with how pleasant and fresh V.V. is. Versace managed to layer in notes that give off an almost unisex vibe. This is not a common department store fragrance: It’s fresh without the typical chemical or soapy drydown and is a citrus/green floral without the sharp notes. I reach for this on hot/humid days. Enjoy!

I love this one. It is NOTHING LIKE Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche! I do not know how people can say it does resemble fore mentioned juice.
    Anyway.
It is all bergamot-citrusy-cedary goodness that lays on cardamom-musky-jasminy base.
That was the reason my mother-in-law liked it, and now she uses it religiously.
The thing IS it is all frigging LILY on her!!!
When she wears it (and she likes to wear it a LOT) I am in great danger to vomit my insides out of me. I’m not kidding.
It fascinates me how people are different.
It lasts good 10-12 hours and projects well.

Versense is a good choice for someone who doesn’t want to smell too girly. Though I wouldn’t classify it as strictly feminine, I wouldn’t say unisex either (as in a man could wear it). Some of the notes are similar to that of Versace Pour Homme (male) so I think a man would choose that instead. Versense just seems to have something a little too feminine, maybe the sweetness of the cardamom mixed with something that I can’t quite put my finger on. I’ve also heard this is a great (and cheaper) alternative to Chanel Chance eau Fraiche, but can’t comment because I haven’t tested that particular Chanel yet. Regardless, I think Versense is highly underrated. Do not overlook this fragrance!
The overall scent is inoffensive and quite nice. It’s a fresh citrus scent. It dries down quickly and the sweetness of the cardamom appears. I can pinpoint bergamot and mandarin, and at one point I could swear there was a light lemon note in there. The sweet note is not sugary at all, just sweet enough to make this feminine. On my skin, after smelling past the citrus top notes, the fragrance is very forest-like. It almost reminds of wet moss after an evening rain shower. I also pick up an intense wood note, possibly coming from the olive tree or cedar base notes. The sandalwood is so faint that it’s hardly detectable. In fact, the musk is stronger; but I only catch that note on the tail-end of the fragrance. I would describe this as a woody citrus musk rather than a woody floral musk. The floral notes add depth. However, I can’t specifically make out any of them enough to list them by name.
In all honesty, this fragrance was probably the most underappreciated in my wardrobe… until today. It took me a couple of uses before I could pinpoint all the complexities of its formulation. I often overlook it for more “sophisticated” scents. After sampling it for this review I will definitely be using it more often. It’s the perfect “anytime” scent, suitable for practically any occasion. I really like this as a strong contender for spring/summer rotation.
