I would have given this fragrance a “love” instead of a “like” if there had been a little less verbena and and little more lavender. On me the lavender/herbal notes fade steadily over time, while the lemon verbena becomes slightly more floral and slightly less citrus. But overall it’s a fresh, high-quality aromatic daytime scent.
I also found the longevity and sillage exceptional for an EDC — about 6 hours and arm’s length.

To my nose, this simple composition seems blended with a “flat EQ” and projects as a monotone green haze somewhat less than the sum of its parts. Having said this I do like it for what it is, serving alternately as either a fresh pick-me-up (if applied in your waking hours) or a calming relaxant (re-applied at the end of your day).
Quality seems good, typical of other Crabtree & Evelyn scents I’ve tried. The brightness of the stronger verbena is somewhat muted by the presence of a lighter aromatic lavender, but unlike pure citrus notes the verbena still projects it’s lemony side for a good while. There are a few other notes in the background not listed above (cedar, amber and tonka bean (coumarin) according to the packaging) that add to its slightly sweetened base and longevity.
In fact, most surprising to me was how long-lasting it seemed for an EDC (an obvious 6 hours and up to 8+ hours as a skin scent – even longer where I sprayed it on my clothes).
Nothing particularly original or complex (arguably a bit of a drone scent), this is inoffensive, soft and green with light lemony undertones and would suit any occasion where bombastic powerhouses are unwelcome.
Overall: 5-6/10
EDIT: I should mention I use a fragrance-free body lotion with glycerin (Live Clean) on the areas I apply this cologne and that could account in part for improved longevity.
