Straight vanilla , very smooth. This should be very good for layering. Longevity is very good but very close to the skin.

I’ve never been one for gourmands and I actually tend to shy away from any fragrance with “Vanille” in the name. However, I was looking for a fairly basic patchouli that wasn’t too head shop dank or floral-fruity-gourmand-chouli.
I figured vanilla + patchouli would be safe enough for work and the labdanum note indicated on the scent pyramid gave me hope that this wouldn’t be straight up cotton candy on my skin.
To be honest, it’s a a lot sweeter than I’d optimally like. I was hoping for more labdanum and the orange dies away very quickly, which is a shame.
I do like the slight play-doh note imparted by the tonka. This fragrance is similar to Jacomo Art Collection #2 in that respect, but not as syrupy.
Vanille Vanillée may never receive heavy rotation status in my wardrobe, but I think I can find a place for it. The play-doh note saved it.

I don’t get a lot of patchouli out of this, but it smells so smooth and soft, like a fluffy marshmallow, without the synthetic smell. I’m very happy with it.
