Oh my. This is sweet! Like sweetness on heroine. I can’t decide whether I love it or hate it.
It’s fairly linear from the beginning to the end, it’s just the intensity that changes. The opening is over the top intensive sugary pralines, not the dark chocolate type, but the ones filled with caramel or dulce de leche. I also get the strong milk note that Ava Luxe does so well. When the scent starts to settle and the pralines tone down, the milk, vanilla and musk take over. Again, Ava Luxe makes amazing musks.
If you are a true gourmand lover you will probably love this. It you are only a little into gourmands you could like it if you only give it time to settle. The sillage is between soft and moderate. The longevity is very good even though it’s more of a skin scent after 4+ hours.
EDIT: The drydown is almost only musk. Axa Luxe’s signature milky musk.

For me this bears more than a passing resemblance to both Milk from Ava’s own line, and DSH’s Au Lait, another milk scent, both of which I own bottles of. This has a creamy milky caramelly vanilla base all throughout but with slightly caramelised, but not quite burnt, sugary top notes, almost exactly like au lait. It’s yummy but not sure if I need to own this as well.

OM NOM NOM!
I’m not the biggest gourmand fan in the world but I’ve been really warming up to them over the past few months.
This is EASILY my favorite so far. Ever. It really does smell like some deliciously toffee laced cookie. Lacies! Have you guys ever had lacies? They sell them at places like Cost + World Market; delicious sticky caramelized sugar laces on top of chocolate? That minus the chocolate is almost exactly what this smells like to me.
I received it yesterday in a wonderful swap (@Ifieyenia, ty! <3) and dabbed it on my neck, wrists, and decolletage. Easily and frequently getting whiffs of it and it is like being surrounded by bakery goodies! Absolute LOVE. Blind swap win. (I’m getting better at this! :D)
P.S. Mine is the 5ml oil vs the spray. Also it easily lasts for days on clothes, and 6hrs+ on skin

VANILLE JOLIE is such a gourmand delight to the senses. Although the vanilla is ever present, I find this concoction mildly sweet with an amazing dose of the nutty and luscious praline. The praline I get here is the nut and cookie confection rather than the liquid filled chocolate, still creamy and incredibly yummy.
I can only barely detect musk about an hour after the initial application on my skin. The wood notes also only play a secondary role to the divine praline slightly drizzled with vanilla. The aroma has softened 4 hours after but still detectable.
The scent is natural yet highly captivating. There is an appealing sensual quality to the harmonious blend of notes. I am absolutely hooked on Vanille Jolie.

Oh my, this is dreamy. In everyday I like musky or powdery feminine scents but this is certainly an exception. Rich luscious vanilla and musk with smooth deep woods. Delicious praline (not too foody, but light and feminine) note in there too that is addictive with the woods/vanilla musk combination. Disarmingly charming and absolutely sexy.

I received a sample of Vanille Jolie along with a purchase I made from Ava Luxe. It is a lovely vanilla, miles away from the plastic, synthetic concoctions they call ‘vanilla’ these days. This vanilla smells raw, organic and dark, like seeds scraped straight from the vanilla pod. Having not seen the notes when I tried my sample, I thought it was a blend of vanilla bean with almond or amaretto, the almond not being roasted like i.e. in La Vie Est Belle’s praline note, but raw and almost bitter. The longevity seemed a little short to me, but having owned ‘Milk’ I can say that Ava Luxe perfumes generally last very long, so I guess this will be the case with Vanille Jolie. For my nose, full bottle worthy
