After looking for this perfume for literally 4 years, it found me.
And I can now understand all the hype about it, because it is amazing. A blend of vanilla (the Comptoir Sud Pacifique style) with proper cinnamon (not the Ceylon variety, but the spicier ‘Cassia’ or Chinese kind of cinnamon that we use in Greece for baking and cooking; the kind of cinnamon you also find in Organza Indecence). In fact Vanille Cannelle is a more gourmand interpretation of the latter also discontinued treasure.
Smells exactly like a bowl of warm rice pudding infused with vanilla and dusted with lots of cinnamon. Cannot detect any ginger.
    Heaven

It’s a very sweet cinnamon, a bit chemical, but still cute.
Reminds of Coke smell a lot)

This is my first review, I thought I’d begin with one of my favourite fragrances as it’s easiest to talk about something you love.
I’ve had this fragrance for some time, it was a gift from a friend who knows I adore vanilla 🙂
I didn’t know what cannelle was at first and was a little surprised at the warm spiciness, I get definite cinnamon then vanilla then a hint of ginger maybe even nutmeg, it reminds me of a big bowl of creamy custard topped with spice and it’s a real comfort scent.
It’s pretty long lasting and when I wear it out shopping it makes me smile when I overhear folk nearby saying things like “Can I smell doughnuts baking?”
I treat myself to a squirt of this when I’m feeling a little under the weather and it’s like a warm hug from an old friend that brightens up a cold, grey day.

I absolutely LOVE this as I’m a true gourmand fan! Pure cinnamon, vanilla and people often say they get a little incense from it. Definitely gets noticed – for the right reasons. I’ve had strangers ask me what it is in the street! It is perhaps a little masculine for some women, but hey I’m a short-haired but make-up wearing lesbian, so this shows off both sides of me! Women and men seem to love it on me. Why they discontinued it I’ll never know…I need more of my addiction!!

I love cinnamon and I love vanilla. This smelled like pipe tobacco to me, WAY too masculine. I think that this would be much more suited to a man. Not for me…

Christmas cookies! That’s what this smells like. But not the sugar and frosting decorated sugar cookies, oh no. These are more German or Swedish ginger spice cookies that were baked so the edges are crisp and caramelized. In the background I get a hint, just a tiny hint, of coffee to go with the cookies. Delicious during the holiday nights!
It might be missing a note or two but this is almost what I’d hoped L de Lolita Lempicka would be. I paired it (on accident) with La Maison de la Vanille’s Vanille Sauvage de Madagascar and I am in gourmand heaven. I just want to nom on my arm 🙂

I’ve had Vanille Cannelle for some time, and I love to wear it during the winter. People notice this, especially men.. Most people love cinnamon scents, but men take notice with this one. A more mild version would be Lolita Lempicka L perfume. This lasts forever and can be quite intense, so take caution. I sometimes mix it with Vanille Peach.

Mmm! This is so sweet and warm. The cinnamon and vanilla are definitely prominent, as others have mentioned. When I wear this I get the same feeling as when I’m making s’mores around a campfire. Perfect for fall!

OK, I am getting a little desperate… I am on my last bottle of this and am looking for more (even if all you have is, like, part of a bottle, or a sample, or whatever)… please message me if you’d like to help me out (not sure if this is the forum to do this in, I’m brand-new!).
Anyway, that being said, I LOVE this fragrance. It is very warm, sweet and sexy. You can still smell warm cinnamon in the dry-down, as well as the signature Comptoir vanilla note. It makes me very sad that this was discontinued and I really hope they bring it back one day!

Indeed, perfectly balanced cinnamon and vanilla. Not strong, but lasting. I love the cinnamon here- it smells just like the real cinnamon that I use for baking. Brown sugar is very prominent as well – gives all that sugar sweetness- I would recommend this if you like Pink Sugar. This in other hand is more natural.

After spraying on my skin, I got blasted by the cinnamon: I didn´t liked it, gave me a weird and itching sensation on my throat. Thankfully it was fast, and then it settled down conforting and sweet.
Some hours later, all I could sense was vanilla (all cinnamon disappeared)
The lasting is very good, about 12 hours.

The man-catcher. Gourmands never fail, and I ALWAYS get complimented by my bf and other men when I wear it. So if you are looking for a date perfume, this is the one. The lasting power is also outstanding. I mix it with Vanille peach sometimes in the fall, and they go well together.

On first spray it makes me think of shaking cinnamon on your latte at starbucks. After a minute it has a smell of fresh cinnamon buns. And the ginger mixed with the cinnamon is almost lightly musky. It is soo good to wear never too much. Just right :))

I agree with rebella – it’s a really nice cinnamon fragrance! Not too sweet, not too spicy – very pleasant soft cinnamon scent.

I´ve sampled 3 different Comptoir Sud Pacific fragarances and this is the one I like best. As takemyhusbandplz writes the first spray is like breathing sweet cinnamon… When it settles it become a dry, powdery and very pleasant gourmand. Not to sweet, and not at all cloying or overwhelming. Very comforting, soft and at the same time there is something sparkling going on in it. After a while it smells like powdered vanilla sugar with soft cinnamon and some very tender spices in it. If you like gourmands I think you sholud give this a try, not that refined, but an overall nice and pretty fragrance. Not that longlasting, but fair enough… about 3-4 hours at least.

I’d rate this a 3.5. When I first sprayed on Vanille Canelle it smelled like cinnamon scented laughing gas. After it warms up on the skin it really changes. On my skin it’s cinnamon and warm floral notes. It’s a very comforting scent. It’s much like wrapping yourself in a fluffy, warm and favorite comforter on a cold day! Something in Vanille Canelle is spicy, edgy and vibrant as well. Perhaps it’s the ginger that gives it that edgy feel. I agree with one of the previous reviewers who stated that Vanille Canelle was great for layering. I wore it underneath J. Lo’s Live Luxe and it smelled great. I’m not sure if I will keep my full size, but it’s really a nice scent.
Notes: cinnamon, ginger, brown sugar, and vanilla enhanced with fruity, floral & amber notes. Fragrance family: Oriental.
