For those still looking for this, I wonder if you would like Vanilla Spice by Sarabecca? It is a natural, organic, no-animal-testing perfume oil which comes in a 7.5 ml (.25 oz.) rollerball for $14.99 at Fresh Thyme Farmers Market stores. Probably could find at other similar type stores. The notes are different (vanilla, amber, patchouli, jasmine, and coriander), but it is quite lovely. I am usually not a patch fan, so that note must be understated. Nor do I get the jasmine. Just vanilla spice, as the name implies.

To me, this is the exact dupe for Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille (albeit not as strong or long lasting as Serge Lutens). I won it in an auction for a steal, and was very excited with it being rare and all. I was never able to find very many reviews about it, but I was extra excited by the words “vanilla” and “spice” – two things I REALLY love. When it finally got to me, and I ripped open the box, I applied it immediately to the back of my hand. Upon first sniff, it was pleasant, but I was unimpressed. Then it hit me. “This smells like something I already have”… I was a little disappointed because of that, but I let it develop for about 30 minutes, and I was sure. “It smells JUST LIKE Un Bois Vanille” – I said it aloud. They both have the exact same slightly sweet, earthy (rather than candy) vanilla paired with smoky, almost smoldering woods. I always say Un Bois reminds me of vanilla wood in a fireplace. I applied my Serge Lutens to my other hand, just to be sure. Yup, exactly the same. I even took a nap, and when I woke up, forgot which perfume I had put on which hand. There is no “spice” in Vanilla Spice. It’s pure wood. I was thinking it would smell something like a cinnamon or cardamom vanilla. Vanilla Spice is not always exactly cheaper since it’s rare, but it can definitely be an alternative to Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille. They are exactly the same from top to bottom. Neither veers in a different direction, and both are linear. I’m not sure if the dupe was intentional, but it’s spot on.

I do not mix well with spicy scents, however, this was a lovely scent to smell on its own, reminded me of burning candles in the cold winter days.

This as well as Vanilla Blossom seems discontinued or maybe a seasonal scent. There was another recent one too… something with berry? Passion fruit! That was the one. I never see these three anymore.

I was excited by the overall premise of this fragrance: vanilla, woods and spices. After a while on my skin, though, the composition fell flat and ended up turning a bit stuffy/dusty. It reminded me of vanilla potpourri left in a wooden box.
