This lasts forever on me. I have a new batch code bottle I purchased from Ulta online. I find Lavanila’s fragrances don’t keep forever, so I would avoid buying discount. It’s very coconut, tiare and vanilla, with some sandalwood, and not at all candied. It’s smooth and creamy. I agree with a previous reviewer who said this reminds them of a pre-reformulated Hypnotic Poison. It’s definitely not identical, but a similar feel is there. It’s one of my favorites. Super cozy.

It seems to go away after 5 to 10 minutes. Maybe I have an old formula. I get the Tiare flower, the vanilla, which is almost like a vanilla candle. then at the end I get a tiny hint of coconut. Altogether its so beautiful especially in beginning, I just wish it would last longer. I did get off eBay, so maybe next round I’ll buy brand new.

This is straight coconut/vanilla on me and it lasts. Simple and sweet.
    Will probably repurchase eventually.

What a wonderful combo of vanilla, tropical flowers, and pulpy delicious coconut. It’s warm, it’s luscious, it’s….it’s….sex on the beach!
This one is more of a skin scent, but the longevity is decent at around 4 – 5 hours.
Perfect for summer casual wear or for close encounters of the Maui-WOWIE kind!
Good quality (as can be expected from Lavanila), reasonably priced, and I think it’s a safe blind buy if you like the notes listed.

Vanilla Coconut is sweet as sweet can be, and sticky-warm, like hot maple syrup on pancakes. It doesn’t smell notably tropical to me – no allusion to pina colada – and I don’t get any floral personally, but it’s a delicious warm vanilla-coconut cake. It’s got a “doll head” vibe in there, too – that powdery-peachy scent reminiscent of 80s/90s plastic dolls. Vanilla Coconut’s longevity is moderate and the sillage is too, which strikes a good balance to me because I think I could get “drunk” on its boozy vanillic facets.
Overall, I think it’s sweet, enjoyable, and worth its price as a natural perfume. The scent is attractive (I got compliments from my fiance) but can feel overwhelming if over-applied. I bought it just for the beach in the summer, but it’s a cozy, warm, cuddly scent – its general aura reminds me a bit of Chopard Casmir. And it reminds me a bit of the coconut cakes the bakery I worked at sells during Christmastime. Funny enough, I think it might be a perfect scent for a snowed-in day.
As an aside, this my third Lavanila scent, and while I think their perfumes are good, I think their deodorants are the real knockout offering from the brand.

<3 it! The rollerball and the body cream both leave you with a soft, sweet, tropic scent. If only sunscreen smelled this good! Where Pure Vanilla can smell somewhat generic and linear, Vanilla Coconut steps up and has more dimension with the coconut. It thankfully never smells like those artificially scented, plastic coconut donut toys from my childhood (anyone remember those?), and I have smelled some perfumes that do. This also doesn’t go into scented candle territory for me, either. It gets lots of compliments from my boyfriend. Although I usually reach for lavanila’s grapefruit, this gets some love too and the cream got used up more than any other in my collection.
Although I can imagine a better vanilla perfume and am fairly positive many exist, I have yet to find one.

Vanilla is one of my favorite scents. THIS smells like PLAYDOH. I will say, I have the small rollerball of oil, but it should still have the same scent…Or,, it should! This is the first Vanilla I have ever smelled that literally made me Nauseous. I will stick to Pacifica Iasland Vanilla, & Lush’s Vanillary. Horrible!

I was going to write this review saying “I smell predominately gardenias even thought it’s not listed”. I then googled “tiare flower”, not really knowing what it was while it looked like jasmine. Well, lo and behold, “tiare flower” is another name for gardenia. Learned something new today.
I blind bought the roller ball, and initially it starts out coconutty but soon gave way to gardenia in a very pleasant way. I find that scents like gardenias and jasmine can easily become synthetic or overwhelming, but this does neither. I don’t really smell the vanilla but it’s very pretty.
It’s very linear, and as others have said very weak and short lasting, but it’s a nice sort of scent to wear on a cold, rainy day when you want to curl up with a good book in your cosy PJs.

A nice simple sweetened coconut. great for layering or on its own, I think it shares some similarities with the more potent vintage hypnotic poison but not a dupe and not in a powdery way. its very strong so so don’t need to apply much, i have a rollerball and it lasts forever.

  10. :

I blind bought this based on its good reviews. It is a very pleasant coconut scent which is smooth and relaxing. It is delicate, soft and yummy. However, it lacks longevity and projection. I think Katy Perry’s Meow is my preferred coconut scent over this one, in addition to Victoria Secret’s Coconut Passion which is also very beautiful for us coconut lovers out there. I will use my bottle of Lavanila Vanilla Coconut but will probably not bother repurchasing.

  11. :

About five years ago I bought a roller flacon of this scent because it was the only Lavanila that smelled overtly vanillic to my nose, and it delivers.
As some reviewers have noted, the coconut is smooth and warm, even toasted, and I agree. The vanilla is what takes center stage here and it is nicely intertwined with the tiare which is further sweetened by the heliotrope. The coconut seems utterly melded with the vanilla. The sandalwood is only detectable to me at the drydown about four to five hours after application.
Overall, the scent is a vanilla-tiare-coconut bomb, linear, mostly non-developing, but not a disappointment for those who want a strong fragrance to wear any time of year and which has incredible sillage and projection.

For me this smells like a delicious coconut milk drink, sipping it while enjoying the sun at the beach in the tropics. I get everything in the notes pyramid above except for the wood. With some beachy coconut scents, I often get a sun tan lotion vibe, but not so with this one. It’s mostly a deliciously soft and powdery sweet vanilla mixed with a ripened and milky coconut. It’s very sweet but I don’t find it tooth achingly sugary, it’s more of a subdued sweetness, very creamy and milky. The vanilla adds a warmth to the fragrance as well, so it really melds with my skin.
I get some lovely white florals that seems to round everything out and add some sophistication and powderiness to the scent. It’s not just plain coconutty gourmand, it’s beautiful and soft and feminine, fun and flirty. Ideal for summer and those cooler days you need a pick me up. It’s so juicy and creamy, I find it simply delicious and will wear it all summer. Also, it’s a huge bonus that it’s an all-natural sort of scent. Score.

This is an admittedly strange way to begin a perfume review, but my boyfriend has a deviated septum (from too many boxing fights unfortunately) and has a hard time discerning scents. In fact, I think most of the time he can barely smell anything.
When he does smell this on me though, he always thinks it’s Hypnotic Poison. I am not sure if it’s because his nose has been broken so many times, or if like others have noted, it does indeed smell that similar to HP. I do smell a hint of HP, but much softer and with more coconut of course.
He always asks me to wear this perfume, and I do wear it a lot, because anything that comes close to smelling like my beloved but reformulated HP is still a treat.
I also think this perfume can stand alone in its prettiness though.
The coconutiness (is that a word?) of this perfume isn’t too tropical, as I am not a tropical kind of gal. Instead, the coconut adds depth and warmth to the vanilla, heliotrope and tiara flower, which is why I believe it smells similar to Hypnotic Poison to some noses.
Give it a try if you love vanilla! And if my boyfriend who can hardly smell can detect and enjoy this on me, I am sure your boyfriend may too.

Although I respect the fact this brand contains NO chemicals and synthetics, this scent is not as spectacular as I imagined it to be..It falls heavy and has nothing unique about it.

  15. :

    4 out of 5

I adore this fragrance!!! If you love vanilla and anything to do with coconut you will love it too! The top notes give a powdery fragrance that smells quite similar to fake tan, but in a good way!! Every time I wear this I have people ask me what fragrance it is:)

  16. :

    4 out of 5

Such an incredible scent! one of my most worn, go-to, favorite fragrances.
It takes a moment to settle, and from then on I pick up delicious creamy coconut, and lush vanilla. It’s like a coconut cake. I don’t find it to be super sweet, though, but a good combination of two naturally “sweet” scents. Beautiful, tropical, warm and inviting. I have worn almost every single day since I purchased.

  17. :

    3 out of 5

Well, for a vanilla-coconut scent, I was disappointed. On my skin, Victoria’s Secret Coconut Passion is better. This just smells like a very boring fake vanilla and even more boring coconut mash-up. And that’s it. I don’t get any “tropical” or “floral” like some of you report. The vanilla and coconut aren’t even friends on my skin. They just sit there being bored, separately. Badly.

  18. :

    4 out of 5

This is a lot like I imagine a coconut cake to smell – but it isn’t overly, nauseatingly sweet so that you’ll get a phantom tooth ache. It’s warm but beachy, carrying a holiday feeling to it as well as a very feminine, pretty vibe. I see nothing wrong with it and the fact it is a natural perfume in base is even better.

  19. :

    3 out of 5

This is meh..pretty straight-forward sweet coconut. Actually, it’s not even very coconutty, which I would like more than this in a sun-tan-lotion day-at-the-beach sort of way. This put me more in the mind of nice gas station bathrooms or the coconut stuff you spray in your car at the carwash. Fine in your ride, but not necesarily what I want to smell like.

  20. :

    3 out of 5

Very strong vanilla. The coconut kinda gets lost, but the sillage and longevity are amazing. However, on my skin, people tend to say I smell like chocolate cake.

  21. :

    3 out of 5

I got a sample of this over the weekend and my impressions: This fragrance is very straight-forward; it smells exactly like the name: vanilla & coconut. It is much stronger than I expected. It really hit me hard at first spritz but then it dried down a bit and wasn’t so sweet. It’s not very interesting; I feel like I can get something similar at Bath & Body Works for much cheaper. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice but too generic to buy a whole bottle.

What a great way to be sniffing a NATURAL scent all day long! Thumbs up for any company like LAVANILA Laboratories which uses natural ingredients to make healthy fragrances for women!

  23. :

Oh man, I love this one. I have the perfume concentrate version and it is pure heaven. Very creamy, very coconutty blended with vanilla. Last a long time on the skin and makes me want to go out and order coffee and some pastries from the bakery across the street.

  24. :

    4 out of 5

I tested this one in 30 + degree weather. It was heavy and creamy smelling. I felt that it was a little too much for the heat. Coconut fans might appreciate it more.

  25. :

    3 out of 5

Vanilla Coconut is like eating an entire box of double vanilla creme sandwich cookies while wearing sun screen. The thick sugar and vanilla reign over the composition, though the coconut and tiare are present, albeit in the background. Longevity is outstanding, though the drydown is almost exclusively vanilla cream cookie. An intense sweet and direct natural smelling vanilla.
I highly recommend purchasing the rollerball of Vanilla Coconut as opposed to the full-sized spray bottle, because it is so sweet and rich that it is fairly easy to grow tired of it. As others have stated, a tiny bit goes a long way.

  26. :

    4 out of 5

Too sweet if applied with a heavy hand! But if you use a tiny amount on your wrists it’s yummy ! I find it too strong and cloying at first but the dry down is wonderful and long lasting.

  27. :

    5 out of 5

I bought Vanilla Coconut because I could not find any sun lotion that smells like this. I am a bit obsessed with coconut smell at the beach or pool so I basically scented my Sisheido sun lotion with this, mix them up really well and there you have it: coconut-vanilla sun lotion. Yay!

  28. :

    5 out of 5

I don’t know why I smell something like bourbon in this fragrance, but I do. Perhaps it’s due to the natural vanilla. It’s super sweet, super sticky and kinda ruins the nice coconut+heliotrope thing it has going on. Those two on their own are sweet enough without the overdose of vanilla extract.
I know many people automatically associate coconut with tropical and thus with summertime, but I can’t even imagine wearing this on a hot day. I feel like I’d suffocate.

Smells just like Bumble and Bumble creme de coco shampoo! Very nice.

  30. :

I don’t usually like coconut since it reminds me of sunscreen, BUT I actually really like this one! The coconut blends nicely with all the other notes, smells sophisticated. Like another reviewer said, it reminds me of Dior Hypnotic Poison! Nice! Also love the fact that it’s Lavanila and it’s all natural- I’ve been trying to get into more natural perfumery : )

  31. :

Smells like really nice sunscreen lotion. The particular coconut note is very similar to the one used in some sunscreen lotions… the vanilla is warm and deep but I can’t shake the summer tanning feel to this scent.

  32. :

It smells really nice, and theres that warm kind of feel about it. It deffinatly smells like vanilla, and coconut. I like it a lot. hope this review helps!

This one reminds me of sunscreen in the 1980s. There was something my best friend in grade school had in her bedroom that smelled exactly like this. So, not for me, but im sure there are those that would enjoy it.

  34. :

    3 out of 5

I love this! My lovely husband got me the forever fragrance roll-on and as soon as I put it on it smelled amazing and also really familiar… like Dior’s Hypnotic Poison. I looked up the notes and all the notes in here minus heliotrope are in HP. Coconut Vanilla just seems like a sweeter/simpler daytime version that also mixes better with my skin.
I have tried the parfum version and it is much more harsh and synthetic smelling than the oil for some reason. It could just be my chemistry with it but I would recommend getting the oil vs the parfum if you are interested in this scent.

I’m getting coconut, chocolate, sweetened condensed milk (???) … this smells to me like seven-layer bars with some white flowers thrown in there. Awesome!

  36. :

I didn’t get coconut out of this one, either. Rather, I spent about two hours smelling like a sugar cookie–perfect for our attendance at a Girl Scouts meeting. The vanilla aroma was authentic to me.

  37. :

I love the way this smells. Perfect for summer. If anyone has a bottle they would like to trade for a bottle of The Pure Vanila would love to do that.

  38. :

I’ve seen this in stores but never really paid much attention to it. I was in today and decided to give it a shot and oh man, it’s delicious. Most perfumes change on my skin, so I was expecting it to go super sweet. But after I put it on it was like wrapping up in a warm vanilla toasted coconut blanket (Not literal food, but you know what I mean). Strong enough to smell a ways away, but it’s more like a soft whisper rather than a screaming look at me type.

  39. :

    4 out of 5

Open a bottle of 100% vanilla extract and you have this scent. I couldn’t smell anything else. I was excited for the coconut smell but it never appeared. I was so disappointed.

  40. :

    4 out of 5

I got the Vanilla Coconut rollerball. Upon first applying it, it’s vanilla/rootbeer. Actually, I thought of Play-Doh. But, as it settled, it warmed up a bit, and the coconut emerged. I haven’t detected any sandalwood or flowers. Somehow, this manages to be a clean, crisp vanilla coconut, without being sticky candy sweet. The name Vanilla Coconut sounds like it guarantees the opposite, but it manages to pull that off! I love my sugary scents, but I love this one too.

  41. :

    4 out of 5

The drydown on this is reminiscent of Dior’s Hypnotic Poison–they are by no meaning dead-ringers for each other, but you could thnk of Vanilla Coconut as Dior’s younger sister. While HP is more sultry and suited for cool weather, VC is sunny, tanned, outdoorsy, and energetic.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

I was not that pleased with Vanilla Coconut when it first tried it back in the spring time. I purchased it blind, and had a friend bring it back for me from the states, and I partially regretted the purchase. The coconut seemed out of place, a bit synthetic and too strong. But now that it’s summertime, I am loving it! The heat and humidity really does something amazing to this perfume. The coconut note blends in so well with the other notes and the tiare came forth a bit more too. It’s like a coconut cream pie that needed to bake in a summer oven before you can devour it. It is THE Lavanila perfume for summer IMO. Yes, even more so than Grapefruit and Passionfruit. I’ve yet to try Lavanila’s Summer.
To me it smells like vanilla, coconut and tiare. To others, I smell chocolaty, vanilla-y and yummy! It’s one of the few perfumes I own that gets complimented on regularly.

  43. :

    4 out of 5

Vanilla Coconut is simply delicious, and easily the most gourmand of the Lavanila scents I have tried. I don’t get much of a suntan oil vibe out of this; rather, it’s all about the gourmand. Even though it is foody, it is not sweet to an intolerable extent. In comparison to Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar, Vanilla Coconut is less sweet but somehow richer.
Many great descriptions have already been given about the deliciousness of this fragrance, so there is not much more I can add in that respect. But I would say that, strangely enough, there is something in this that gives off the feel of crushed Oreo cookies. Although there is no chocolate listed as a note, I get the scent of crumbly, dry cacao powder amidst all the toasty coconut cream. The tiare also adds a wonderful buttery-thick and luscious tropical aspect to balance things out.

  44. :

    3 out of 5

I wasn’t “wow-ed” by Vanilla Coconut the first time I tried it. I was familiar with Pure Vanilla and Vanilla Grapefruit from this line, and was expecting something sweet and tropical, and this is exactly that. It wasn’t until I began to explore the note of coconut in fragrance that I came to appreciate what a wonderfully warm and fun take on coconut this fragrance has turned out to be. While I’ve still got a lot of coconut fragrances to test, I can say that this one nicely fills my requirement of a warm, relaxed, suntan lotion fragrance for those gloomy days when I need comfort (vanilla) and something tropical to take my mind away to more exotic locations.
The coconut is strongest at the start of this fragrance, when the tiare is also detectable. This is when it’s smoothest and the creaminess of the coconut mingles nicely with the rich bourbon vanilla and very slight hint of white floral. After a couple of hours (maybe longer, maybe shorter depending on your skin), the vanilla takes over and this veers into baked goods territory. This is what keeps it from perfection, in my opinion. While it’s still lovely when it becomes more coconut cupcake than suntan lotion, it really changes the feel from tropical to gourmand, which is why this scent is so great as a comfort scent, but not so great for those who don’t love vanilla gourmand fragrances.
Also of note: I own several of Lavanila’s scents and they get more compliments from my male friends and dates than probably all of my other fragrances combined. What they say about men loving the scent of vanilla must be true! 😉
The price is great ($19 for a .32 ml roll-on) and I’ll probably always have a bottle of this in my rotation, as it really does capture that beachy, suntan lotion experience – if only for a couple of hours. Though the fragrance changes tone, as I mentioned, it’s projection and longevity are fantastic. I highly recommend that anyone with a penchant for coconut tests this one out – but only if you love vanilla just as much, if not more than coconut!

Very beachy, easy to wear. Definite hot summer frag. Like tanning oil & piña coladas.

  46. :

Beautiful and somehow carefree. 🙂 Sweet, vanilic, coconuty, creamy, relaxed, summery, little floral (the combo tiare and heliotrope is a winner for me)…and yet…strangely…in all of this almost beachy easiness, there is a bit decadent, even lightly sensual darkness and that makes this concition very lush and interesting. Very, very enjoyable.

  47. :

i like it and have used almost half the bottle by now but even so its still not the true coconut scent I am looking for, smells a little synthetic but its still nice.

After going through a full bottle of Lavanila Pure Vanilla over the winter months last year, I was certain I had found the perfect vanilla scent. But after buying Vanilla Coconut, I think that it is much closer to a true vanilla than its name implies. Maybe it’s the tiare flower in it that makes it much more of a vanilla than a coconut in my opinion. It’s warm and cuddly while being luscious and decadent simultaneously. Lingers nicely on my sweaters and scarves, too. I would have never called it a coconut perfume.

Smells very delicious. i smell some coconut but more of the vanilla. Im a HUGE coconut fan and am very satisfied with this! It’s like a sensual creamy smell, but not too heavy to give you a headache. Great staying power and reminds of something Jennifer Lopez would release.

This scent is AMAZING! It is very sweet and almost bitter/floral (Tiare) at first spray, but don’t let it fool you… the dry down is so warm and almost edible… just like vanilla extract, but so much better! It is also long-lasting. I can smell this on my skin the day after spraying it. This is definitely my go-to scent! It smells delicious!

This is the best vanilla coconut perfume I have tried so far. Warm, creamy and delicious. The lasting power is fantastic too…I put this on 5 hours ago and I can still smell it great! This is a must have for the coconut lover!

This scent is a tropical paradise without smelling like a cheap tanning lotion. If you like that coconut note in J-Lo’s Miami Glow and wish there was more of it, you might like Lavanila’s coconut vanilla.

Imagine marshmallows covered in coconut shavings and roasted over a fire, then chased down with a tall glass of milk. Or yummy coconut cream pie with merengue on top! This of the Lavanila line is the most gourmand to me. The opening does remind me of suntan lotion but it quickly transitions into the drydown which is the best. And boy does it stand out too. Geez, I tested No. 5 and TF Black Orchid along with this, and this was the one that kept begging me to sniff! Last forever too, just like the others of this house.

A nice vanilla with a bit of coconut added in, though I can barely make out the coconut. This smells exactly like an el cheapo vanilla body spray I picked up at Walmart a couple of years ago. Nice but not worth the price tag.

The name says it all 🙂
Creamy, smooth & sweet – it is good enough to eat! Here is a dessert of a fragrance that smells like a home-made luxury as opposed to a shop-bought cheapie.
Real vanilla pods & brown sugar warmed in thick jersey cream with just a touch of coconut cream added in the mix. Hazy & relaxed, pared down yet interesting, if you like the main starlets of this frag then you will enjoy the quality here whether it is alone or as a mixer. As C3C says… you will smell gooood!
    Lovely, simple scent.

Lavanila has really won me over, and I was skeptical, to put it mildly, of a series of perfumes with single- and double-note names, which sounded to me like just another gimmick along the lines of CLEAN.
Instead, the people at Lavanila do themselves a great disservice by calling VANILLA COCONUT by such a name. For the composition really features tiare flower, which is adorned by sandalwood and heliotrope and lightly sprinkled with coconut and vanilla. A very nice composition, in the spirit of tiare flower monoi, VANILLA COCONUT does not–as I had feared–overwhelm the wearer with coconut in the manner of suntan lotion. Instead, this is a pleasant, simple but not simplistic gourmand-floral composition.
I would never have purchased a full bottle of something named VANILLA COCONUT. (I might even have exchanged it unopened, had I received such a fragrance as a gift!) But I am happy to have made this propitious discovery through a minirollerball tester set. Maybe I’ll write to Lavanila to suggest more inviting names for their excellent gourmand compositions… Wrist sniffers one and all!

Warm, sweet, toasted coconut and vanilla. ;’) This smells so good and has a tolerable sweetness. It is one of the most authentic coconut fragrances I have ever come across and smells delectable. I would love to get a bottle after my sample runs out. Thanks c3c! ;’D

While I don’t smell the coconut in this I still love it. It reminds me of vanilla extract (in a good way), much closer to true vanilla than the Lavanila pure vanilla version. It’s warm and sweet, but not overpowering. The scent lasts for a long time, something I always appreciate but can’t always find. My boyfriend didn’t care for it in the bottle, but when I wore it one night and didn’t tell him, his first comment was “Mmmm! You smell good!”
