The sensuality of the VAN GILS I composition is expresses with sweet, fresh and fruity nuances of plum blossoms, combined with bergamot, cardamom and pink pepper, enhancing the dynamics in the heart blended of spicy pimento berries, powdery iris, lavender and deep and rough patchouli accords. Masculinity and comfort are reflected by a combination of warm and creamy sandalwood and vanilla, with balsamic and smokey tonkabeans, musk and vetiver in the base notes.
VAN GILS I is available in 50ml and 100ml Eau de Toilette bottles. The body care line includes an after-shave in 50ml bottles, a 150ml shower gel, a 150ml deodorant spray and a 75ml deodorant stick. The fragrance has been on offer since February 2018.

I bought it today and let me tell you it’s nothing like Dior sauvage ( I own it too) it start somewhat fruity than it becomes this unique fruity/woody smell that I love. I love the bottle and the longevity of this fragrance. Highly recommend it!

Tried this one today.
The bottle looks a little as Sauvage, but the juice is not……
I find the smell very pleasant. At first a litte fresh from the bergamot. An half hour later the iris kicks in and gives it a powdery feel, a little later the patchouli, wich I do not find rough as mentioned, sweetenes it up a little. The iris is not that “lipsticky” as Dior Homme,
It stays for 6 to 8 hours on my skin, but is no projection monster. Maybe it performs better in spring/summer?
I can be used for office. Not dissapointed.
Edit 21 may 2018: In warm weather the longevity is not better and it did not project better. IMO This is more for colder days.

I’m actually excited to smell this. The photo at the top right is, presumably, the owner of the brand laughing his ass off at the absurdity of it all. Sure it appears to be a blatant copy of Dior’s Sauvage. But Sauvage itself is hardly a unique creation, it borrows extensively from fougere’s that have come before.
In the world of olfactive creation it’s often the case of simulacrums all the way down. Describing something as “unique” usually only tells us the limits the reviewers knowledge of other fragrances from the past, not the objective originality of the scent itself.
Go forth, Van Gils, shoulders back and chin held high, venturing boldly where many have gone before! But do it well, or at least better than rest, and you may find a new fan in me. I like the bottle, Dior certainly doesn’t have a monopoly on cool bottles with light-to-dark fading. If the notes don’t screech with headache-inducing harsh aromas that would be a plus as well.

Hopefully the smell is nothing like the fragrance they ripped off the bottle from!!
