This is intense tropical delight captured in a scent. I think there are only a few of the notes listed here. On the opening it smelt just like the fragrance of the brugmansia flowers that I grow. Dense, opulent and hypnotic. I get the familiar perfumey banana sort of fragrance. It does remind me of my Illuminum Trumpet flower.
Maybe sambac jasmine, cocoa and ginger lily are the accord of the brugmansia flowers. I grow the jasmine sambac also the ginger lily. Id say the notes are pretty accurate from my experience. A reasonably blended fragrance that is not too sweet and manages to not get cloying
This tropical beauty is surely only for evening. Moderate longevity and sillage.

How weird is my weird? According to Roge’ downstairs I need to pack my bags and head for SFO. Funny that — I had a shamanic healer tell me the same thing two years ago.
There’s a lot more going on in Untitled #1 than flowers and chocolate as the note pyramid suggests. Online investigation tells me there’s absinthe and galangal in this too, however hard to verify as the brand’s website no longer exists and this fragrance wasn’t relaunched under the Baruti name. All the better for me in my desire to be a little bit different. Not good if I want to repurchase.
I’m ever so grateful for the swap with Roge’ in allowing me to adopt this elusive scent. And yes, I’ll be wearing the petals off this thing — it’s incredible.
First spritz: something akin to the jasmine I find in Molinard’s new launch of its Jasmin in the minimalist purple bottle; and also to the animalic Lush Lust — then it becomes milkier, sappier, naughtier with the cacao throwing a nuance of a creamy coconut vibe while still remaining rather vegetal. Vaguely reminscent of the ambergris and coconut in Francesca Bianchi’s Sex and the Sea, but balanced better to my liking.
There’s something delicious and fruity in here too. If someone said peach or pineapple, I’d be apt to fall for that suggestion. But it’s not an obvious fruit note, just juicy and delicately sweet. It could be the absinthe with a fennel-like cast. A little bit woody and salty. Tasty. Yes, that little bit of salt makes me salivate.
Galangal to me is like very mild ginger with a melon and floral nuance. I love to cook with it so I’m quite familiar with this note. It’s similar in scent profile to ginger lily oil. I love the addition in this fragrance as it offers illumination without acidity. Woody, yet fruity and fresh. Lots of beautiful animation.
This is also a little reminiscent of Rania J’s Jasmin Kama, but without being candied. That one I loved and almost considered a full bottle. Untitled #1 hands down would leave Jasmin Kama on my shelf collecting dust because I would reach for this instead every time.
Okay, enough of my raving monologue about Untitled #1. I’m going to depart right now and revel in my new indolic love, and maybe plan a trip to San Fran.

Here’s some quick Jeopardy: What comes to mind when I say Big Foot, Lochness Monster, Where’s Waldo and Osama Bin Laden. Answer: The World’s Greatest Hide and Seek Players of the Century. You can officially add Magnetic Scent #1 to that legendary list. The house of Baruti was created as a proxy to the defrocked and defunct house of Magnetic Scent. Some of the Baruti frags share a simpatico with the out of commissioned Magnetic line but this particular indolic fragrance has not been mocked or remixed. This is a journey into “How weird is your weird?” This is a fragrance that would be appreciated in San Francisco for its eccentric quality. A contrarian jasmine that is unapologetic in nature with an uber earthy white floral accord laced with fecal facets. I blind bought this 2 years ago in hopes of receiving some of that cacao goodness. To be honest, you wouldn’t summarily know that cacao is in here unless you looked at the note listing. Equally low key are the lily notes therefore, if you’re looking for that greener than life green, you may be a little dissatisfied. As subdued as the cacao and the lily may be, it plays a essential role in the weirdness. I’ve yet to wear this in public. It just goes to show how insecure i feel when im engulfed in the indoles. When a man can pull off a jasmine fragrance, it can be a beautiful thing. With Magnetic Scent #1, I’m having trouble with that beauty part…
