The initial spray immediately transported me back to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Roja (Roger) has masterfully captured the smell of the Emirates here with the Taif Rose/Rose de Mai, benzoin, incense and woody notes.
My first impression was that I had literally died and gone to Heaven, the opening is to die for and I wish it would last forever! This is one of the best blends that I have ever smelled. The first day of wearing, I headed to the local post office and the woman (who was sat behind a glass counter) asked me what I was wearing and said, “It smells reeeeaaaaly nice!”
Projection is strong for the first few hours and then it settles down. It is not a beast but gives around 8-10 hours longevity on my skin (which is good for my skin), on clothing it will last a few days and stay close to the clothing.
As with many Roja fragrances, the “Aoud” construction is a misnomer. This is all about rose, benzoin, and citrus. The woody notes shine through later on, but the oud is minuscule. I think the benzoin is missed by many people, but being someone who burns benzoin and oud almost every day, I can detect it clearly. It is not animalic whatsoever and the rose lasts all the through. The artemisia (wormwood) used by the Arabs in tea, gives it a lovely herbal, dry smell of the desert.
This is easily a 10/10 fragrance for me and an easy blind buy. Now the dilemma…
At £425 for 50ml it becomes a hard sell because I want to spray every inch of my body and clothing in it because it is so good. It is double the price of the most expensive MFK and quadruple the price of an Amouage. If money is no object to you, then by all means, go ahead and buy it. If it is, then try it at least once in your life.

Oud, Taif Rose and cloves, that’s all I get. Mouthwatering and very relaxing. (Some olfactories experiences are really hard to describe, this is one of them.)
Cons: The drydown is all about oakmoss and pepper. Beautiful.

Tested it and it smells good but for a more mature person. I’d say 30+ for this one. But its amazing 4.5/5

Roja Dove makes an incredible rose/oud combo. In the cold, this is all glorious, rose with an abstracting oud note. If you add heat, benzoin, the animal smells (civet), and incense peak through. A perfume highly sensitive to heat but not in a destructive way–this perfume does not burn off as others do, which is a sort of unusual feature. With this perfume when the temperature changes you are given a window into another set of notes previously buried and that, when the temperature changes back, you will turn back to the first set of notes you discovered without any loss of intensity or complexity. A delight! I wish the full bottles were a little cheaper so that I could more than a decant!

I’ve never got round to making a review on a fragrance (laziness) but have finally felt compelled to do so for Roja Dove’s UAE. This is by far my most adored fragrance and definitely the best of all the Rose/Oud combos. I don’t think I’ve ever smelt a perfume where I’m able to pick out 5 notes right off the bat – oud, rose, incense, blueberry, civet. It’s an absolute master piece, extremely well blended. It’s through this fragrance that I can really see why Roja is a true master. I have both versions of this and I can confirm that they are exactly the same. Depending on the temperature you wear this at, the civet note is quite poignant but not offensive. This to me, encapsulates the middle east in a bottle. I’ve tried the other middle east perfumes and they just don’t do it for me. It’s all about UAE! While it is priced very highly, in my view it’s worth it for the quality and complexity.

Masterpiece. Refined oud combined with rose taif exquisitely. Any additional comment is redundant.
Scent: 9/10
Longevity: 10/10
Sillage: 9/10
Cost ratio: 8/10
Overall: 9/10
An absolute must for rose + oud lovers.

Oud, roses and black currant blended to perfection! The best Roja Dove’s scent hands down in my humble opinion. It is expensive but I need it for my soul. It became my spiritual scent and every time I close my eyes and take a snif of it, this fragrance touches something deep inside me and a smile comes to my face. Definitely a keeper.

I was reluctant to get this bottle as I thought it was “just another rose/oud” of which I´m kind of fed up with. Boy, was I in for a surprise!!! Yes it´s a rose/oud, but so much more and totally in a league of its own. The taif is so crisp, the oud so gentle, then there´s the black currant, incense and benzoin, not to mention the civet! The latter does not appear until the drydown and is such a pleasant surprise, so cleverly done. It generated compliments en masse, “everybody” wants to know what I´m wearing.
Choosing my scent of the day can be quite an issue, this one is hard to pass. For me this one is on the top shelf among my 160 bottles of niche perfume. Warm, comforting, still ultra elegant and classy! Works in cold as well as warm weather, a definite winner.

A really spectacular fragrance, and probably the best rose and oud combo I’ve smelled so far. First blast is a lot of rose, sweet, lush and jammy, but the blackcurrant and pepper give it a little bit of a spicy kick. After a few hours I can smell a bit of cumin and frankincense. It’s spicier and smokier as the fragrance evolves, but It never really loses the rose. The whole experience smells very much like a bakhoor, very middle-eastern in style, which stays true to its intention. As it evolves it actually reminds me a little bit of Amouage Tribute. The fragrance might be a little strong for the western audience. But if you’re a fan of Arabic-styled perfumes this is a must!

Quite similar to Guerlain’s Rose Nacree – and thus excellent
Svirepko – :
I know a lot of people perceive “oudh” to be the same smell mixed with rose usually, but…..this fragrance is one of the most perfectly blended, long lasting, great sillage fragrances that I have EVER tried. Hands DOWN.
vedaphieldish – :
Scent – civet, benzoin, incense & rose.
Season/Time of Day – I prefer to use this one in the colder months, day or night.
Projection – I did get noticed, I didn’t get a compliment.
Longevity – I get 12hrs consistently.

This is Roja Dove Spirit of the union (UAE) .. Probably my absolute favorite from the Roja line … It’s just as good or even better than Roja Musk and Amber Aoud.. For those of you who have not had the opportunity to smell this absolutely beautiful gem, try to get sniff at this… The composition is absolutely amazing and complicated…which is part of the reason why this is one of the best of all time in my honest opinion

I am so very happy Neiman Marcus started to sell this fragrance. While I was shopping yesterday, I periodically received beautiful wafts of it that made me say to myself “damn, I smell terrific”. I am a lover of fragrances that change over the wearing and this one does not disappoint. Yes, it is expensive, but it is special, just like me (LOL). I do not mind paying for “special”. I have received many compliments over the past few days and I believe it is definately suited for either a man or a woman. The longevity is at least 5-6 hours on my skin and 24 hours on my clothes. It seems to be in the same vein as his Aoud and Amber Aoud.

I am sorry but suggesting substituting UAE for Interlude because the latter seems “a better, cheaper version” of the former is in my opinion non sensical. It is like comparing apples with pears. These two fragrances have very little in common.
UAE is a fresh and warm creation centered around a dominant Taif theme and is very easy to wear. On the other hand Interlude features no rose accord and is (in a good way) a merciless, sweet, spicy, incense laden, leathery and aromatic assault to the senses.

Aside from Amber Aoud, this is one of my favorites. It is extremely pleasant to the nose! It shares some similarities with Roja’s Fortnum & Mason’s Taif Aoud (similar rich taif note) but this fragrance has much more depth. Although, the Taif note is much more pronounced in Fortnum and Mason Taif Aoud. There is a lot going on with UAE Aoud and it seems impossible to accurately depict all of the notes. I would simply describe it as a beautiful taif rose with clean aoud infused with a semi sweet/spiced honey. There are a variety of florals used here but it is so smooth. No issues with longevity and the fragrance lasts throughout my 8 hour shift at work (with 5-6 sprays.) If you are a Roja Dove fan, this is a must own. It is now accessible to all and available on the Roja website. Price is definitely an issue at 395 GBP for 50ml.
bbbtttjjjccc – :
Unfortunately, this one is disappointing. I am a big fan of Roja Dove and his perfumes, however, this one falls short. And I dislike it not because I did not like how it smells like, but because of the quality of the perfume itself. I won 8 different perfumes of Roja’s creations and I should say that I could easily detect the compromised quality this one has right off the bat. Nothing impressive at all. My favorite phase of the perfume, which does not last more than 7-9 minutes and is relatively decent, is the heart.
In addition, the Taif Rose used in this perfume is easily not of the best grade or (Nakhb Al Arous) as we call it in Taif, Saudi Arabia–homeland of Taif Rose. Because the Nakhb Al Arous grade is extremely rare and expensive,i.e., $1,360 for 11.6 grams of pure Taif Rose oil (tola)! That said, this bottle costs around $710 for 50ml, which is unbelievably ridiculous. I’d spend double or triple this price on a bottle of perfume if it truly shows justifiable quality and luxury.
I am sad to write this negative review because I love the house of Roja Dove. Good luck.
