There was a time I was a real Ungaro-addict, but not anymore. For some reason the latest releases all feel and smell cheap. This one is no exception. Smells like Nautica Rush (not the fragrance I like). Sillage and projection are really good (as always when you don’t like it ;-)). If you can find it at a bargain price, you could try it, but don’t expect too many compliments. A thumb down for me!

Ungaro Cologne Extreme delivers a new expression of freshness that is blended with stylish cologne. For the sake of clarity, this cologne is everything, but a classic cologne. Forget about Thierry Mugler Cologne in case you were thinking about it, the two of them stand at the opposite sites.
UCE opens with a blast of tart lime and grapefruit. The zesty notes are well blended with a touch of green cardamom, which rises smoothly while the citrus accord cools down and meanwhile introduces to an elegant light lavender. After quite a few minutes the scent turns into a green and minty aroma, the bitter artemisia is mixed with fresh and salted sea water. The aquatic accord is pleasant like a morning marine breeze, nothing to share with cucumber, watermelon, or calone.
The heart notes last more than one hour, and it takes longer before the earthy and smoky accords come to play. Patchouli is dominant in the base, though it is well balanced by the guaiac woody note. The vetiver completes the accord, however it is slightly perceivable.
Supposedly, it smells unique and does not remind any other scent. As a fresh cologne I recommend it for late spring and summer, better if warn during hot days. Inoffensive for office as well as for leisure time. The sillage is soft and longevity on my skin is moderate, between 3 and 6 hours.
