Description

The new addition to the cute Benefit fragrance collection Crescent Row is called Under My Spell Noelle. The scent is exotic, floral and woody, representing mysterious and glamorous lady Noelle. The fragrance comes out in June 2013.

Lingonberry accord is placed at the opening of the composition, spiced with black pepper and cardamom. Its floral heart includes violet, wild orchid, jasmine, vanilla flower and rose. The base leaves a strong trail with patchouli, oud, black amber, vanilla, benzoin and raspberry.

It is available as 30 ml Eau de Toilette.

Adore Noelle, it is so tart and woody-spicy-sweet and adventurous, very confident and seductive fragrance for high heels and evening dress, but even without dressing up – this smell makes you feel as “femme fatale” by that special bite and charm. It is like mix between Angel and Anglomania, – yet even more sophisticated. Cranberries and patch with cardamom are most noticeable on my skin, not so much of oud or vanilla with flowers, very different, out of crowd fragrance, do recommend for lovers of statement orientals.

This is the first time I really-really like oud in a fragrance. The base is strong with vanilla and raspberry, and a patchouli that does somewhat resemble Angel in the opening of the perfume. All of this makes a sweet bed for the oud to blend into, and it does very well so! The scent has a resinous undertone with hints of soft spices. Very much vanilla oriented and mellows down to its basics in the final drydown. Performance is great, good sillage with 8-10 hours of longevity. It was a blind swap, but it will definitely be one of my winter staples. Refreshingly unique from a brand where I wouldn’t expect such uniqueness.

Does anyone have a decant of this I can try? I have plenty to swap!
    It’s just magic!

I love the fact of the spray that everyone smells and wondering what I was spraying. Apparently, even my mom loves it! It smelt sexy and I even bought 3 bottles of these. It smelt cacao-ly creamy and spice mixed in it. It lasted 8 hours on me. Great buy!

This undergoes a massive transformation from top to drydown. The top is very very remisniscent of Angel: it’s full of patchouli, with something spicy akin to cinnamon, cacao and vanilla. It is somehow christmasy and spicy. Then I get jasmine, and all of a sudden it has become a sweet powdery rose scent, with woody undertones.

First of all- this has nothing similar to Angel (I have Angel, and I liked Noelle).
It is just nice oriental fragrance with good sillage and longevity. It was love from first sniff… but I was wearing it for a long time everyday and with time it smelled more and more of synthetic, chemical notes- now I just can’t use it!
It is good if you don’t have any problem with celebrity fragrances- because it’s basically what happens with celebrity ffragrances too- they get more and more synthetic with time. But if you are OK with that- you’ll love it if you like nice, oriental perfumes.

Well, as the worlds biggest hater of Angel (there really is nothing more horrific, the sillage is phenominal, so after you walk past someone wearing it it stays up your nose for ages! bleurggg)I was apprehensive about this but wanted to try it as I like oud when it is well done. What a surprise this fragrance is. Its heady and warm and sexy, you can smell both the ous and patchouli but I don’t feel they clash. I really do like it and it has good but not overbearing sillage, apply with caution however. Its also def a cold wintery fragrance only. It would probably knock u out in summer!

..hated this fragrance, don’t be fooled by the somewhat sweet, powdery, v peppery opening…it morphs into a pungent patchouli..towards the end it reminds me of angel… too strong in the worst way possible 🙁 ..this from a person that finds merit in most fragrances ..test this one well before you buy!!

Noelle had me under her spell at first sniff!!! Its exotic elegance would certainly entice anyone who encounters it. The composition opens with a very spicy mixture of vanilla and cinnamon accord (cardamom & pepper). Although it gives way to let the florals shine through on the heart, the spiciness lingers until the drydown adding mystery to the well balanced mixture of warmth (vanilla, patchouli) and sweetness (amber, raspberry) which is deepened by the agarwood (oud) note. Longevity is up to 12 hours on me with a moderate sillage at arms length. Highly recommended.

Beautiful woody sweet perfume, love from first sniff! It last long, definitely recommend it. This fragrance deserves a place on my top 10 perfumes list.
Update: this fragrance discontinued. This winter I discovered another perfume – Red Aoud Montale for women and men, who might influenced under my spell Noelle to be created. When I finish my Noelle I will buy that one!

This is fresh and woody but smooth at the same time! This is indeed modern and very wearable. It is more of a bright frag than a sweet one— which I appreciate in the long line of sweet gourmand frags in the Crescent Row line.
I had this and a popular Guerlain on my other wrist and I kept coming back to Noelle over the Guerlain. ( whaaaat? I know… ) It really is a wonderful addition to the Crescent Row line and I am heading to town this week to pick it up!

This fragrance deviates away from the fruity/floral/candy fragrances that are so common today. A vintage inspired fragrance but with a modern touch. It doesnt last very long though and I am not an avid fan of oud which is the main note.

just tried this today and fell in love!itis sweet and spicy at the same time!to me it smells like vanilla and cinnammon (not listed) blended beautifully together!can’t rate the sillage yet but as for longevity, been seven hours since i sprayed and the fragrance is still here!so now i know what i want for christmas:Noelle!

To give a fairly blunt and quick idea of Noelle: imagine the Armani perfume Diamonds, but with a touch of oud. I’ve got Noelle on one wrist and Diamonds on the other. They are near identical sisters that were separated at birth.
The oud in Noelle is the dominant note, and heavily supported by patchouli, and I mean HEAVILY to the point where the patchouli is competing with the oud. If you are not a fan of patchouli, I wouldn’t suggest Noelle. The raspberry note is a pleasant surprise. It’s soft, it’s definitely there, but it isn’t obvious, and this is where Noelle gets its similarity to Diamonds. The florals bloom in the midst of this heavy trio of patchouli, agar wood, and raspberry to reveal a lovely violet, orchid, and rose. The vanilla is soft and the berries are undetectable on me. I didn’t smell one hint of berries!
I definitely loved Noelle, but after noticing its similarity to Diamonds, which I already own, it’s pointless for me to have both. I will speak in Noelle’s favor that it has more backbone and is longer lasting than Diamonds. It’s worth trying and it’s an impressive oud, surprising to the likes of Benefit (not saying that Benefit would be incapable of producing a successful oud, but that I’m surprised that they decided to produce one at all!). It’s a comforting, warm, and enchanting winter fragrance.

Benefit jumped on the oud trend and certainly did not try to bury it under a hundred other notes.
A very peppery oud is the strongest note in Noelle, to my perception.
I also strongly detect the berries. They’re tart. Too tart, in my opinion, and they clash.
I was sort of expecting a powdery raspberry/rose Turkish Delight type fragrance with some oud? Not the case.

I havent smelt something like this!
Its a cocktail of western and eastern fragrances!
Like a turkish delight and vanilla mix – you need to sniff it as Im finding it quite difficult to describe.
On the paper strip from yesterday it is still quite strong and too heady for me.

I was really disappointed in this when I smelled it at Ulta today. It’s way too strong.

i couldn’t leave ulta without a bottle of this. it was odd. different. tart, woody, not at all too sweet or floral… it made me guess and guess… what was that ??? *sniff sniff* i even chased down a few staff and had them smell me, lol. no one seemed to know the notes! i bought the last bottle, raced home and fragrantica’d it: top notes turned out to be lingonberry, cranberry, cardmamom, black pepper and oud. this smells so good it’ll make you wanna slap your granny!

When i smelled it i’ve sensed cacao or creamy something in it but after it settles down, i could clearly smell the classic dove scent. If you like oriented soap fragrances, it’s just for you. And it’s not long lasting but stays close to the skin.

I have a few sample vials and this reminds me of Love Chloe – on me it has a similar powdery dry down. It’s nice but I would pass on purchasing since I already have Love Chloe (which lasts all day on me unlike Under My Spell Noelle which only lasted maybe 4-5 hours tops).
